"I've been using Blink Fitness for about 2 years at many different locations (Harlem, Bryant Park 40th and 6th, 116th street and the one near Yankee Stadium) I decided to give this one a try and although it has not been open for long it already looks broken down, like they don't take care of it or the patrons at this particular Blink just don't care"
"I used to Love this gym, but after Planet Fitness closed this gym is a Zoo, too many people, and not enough machines or squat boxes, last Tuesday i had to wait 1 whole hour for a machine to finish my leg circuit, and then when you look to the treadmills and bikes none of them are being used!! Started going to the One on Riverdale, is way farther from my house cuz i live 1 stop away from this one, but the space, machines and the Hours(Mon-Fri till Midnight) are BETTER than Grand Concourse!!! You BLINK PERSONAL should READ all of the reviews Below and start doing something about this gym, because many people go to this location expecting for better and i don't believe that 10/20 dollars from everyone isn't enough to make arrangements!!!! Also the Womens bathroom has had the ceiling broken for over 2 months!!! Or in the mornings this is hilarious, sometimes there is NO hot water in the girls shower! we laugh, but this can't keep happening or you will loose more and more people!!!"
"This gym is ok but the machines they have aren’t enough and they only have 2 benches"
Edit 6/14/23: Unfortunately, I now have to rate the gym low. The guy who does custodial duties posed as a manager and attempted to use that lie as leverage to remove me from the workout area. This escalated from a gym trainer who essentially did not want to respect physical boundaries I had communicated to him. I told the trainer I just wanted to work out, and that I would speak to the manager after my workout out. He escalated the self created situation and went downstairs to get her. Meanwhile, the custodian posed as the manager, going as far to pose as managerial mediator, but ultimately began to remove the gym equipment from the space I was working in, while telling me and directing me to go downstairs, leave the workout area, and that i was being disruptive, although I made it clear I was always trying to just workout in my space in peace, and it was just a regular personal space I was communicating that I thought would be normally respected, as I had never seen any other customer interrupted as such, or harassed, or lied to. It escalated to a whole situation where the actual manager had to come upstairs to diffuse the situation, although I was still blamed for setting certain reasonable boundaries, originally verbally agreed to by the same gym trainer who would later come back about thirty seconds later to tell me that was a problem, contradicting himself. It got messy. It definitely did not have to escalate to that point in the first place. I was astounded at the audacity of the custodian to pose as a manager to get me removed from the work out area. I also want to add that on another day, I don't remember when, another gym trainer got mad at me and wouldn't stop berating me to clean a mat that wasn't mine; he was heated, and the conversation went in circles, even though I told him it wasn't mine. I was working out, saw two people trying to workout in the area; there was a workout mat which was there before I showed up, so I moved it out the way to be nice. After that point, the gym trainer raised his voice and tone to tell me to clean the mat; I let him know it wasn't mine, but the back and forth went on about three times with me explaining it wasn't mine and the general situation. It was very uncomfortable, then the gym trainer started to drop very heavy weights on the floor right next to me where I was working out, which came across as an obvious act of retaliation and intimidation, as his heightened tone and aggressive body language persisted from the beginning the incident he created. This is the original comment, for comparison and contrast to the current situation, and it does not at all reflect my current assessment of the gym, sans the technical faculty upkeep; the personnel, again, imitated and posed as the manager to try to remove me from the workout area; the trainer needlessly created and escalated a problem that wasn't present before his contradictory verbalization thereof: Nice facility. A nice and wide variety of numerous equipment for full body or specific, target training workouts. I see the staff frequently cleaning the equipment and the space is usually, if not always, very clean. When I first walked in asking about Blink, the guy (I wish I remembered his name) was so patient in answering all the questions I had; the interaction was so nice I signed up right after he answered all my questions. I had been with planet fitness for about 7+ years and am glad to make the switch to Blink; PF has these weird rules, like no heavy breathing, and the environment and vibe at Blink isn't stifling or restrictive at all, it feels very encouraging especially with the inspirational quotes. Last but not least, they play some really good movies/TV shows that I like to watch while jogging, and the music is always a vibe.
During the pandemic when gyms were close I called the corporate number to cancel my mother gym membership which I was paying for. I also had an account which was a blink fitness corporate membership. For those of you who didn’t know when your a Lyft driver you can get this kinda of membership since Lyft has a partnership with Blink Fitness. The cost of this membership is $180 a year you can get to any gym in the 5 boroughs except lower downtown Manhattan. Anyways around June I told them to close my mother account since she wasn’t going to the gym and I was paying for it. Come to find out Sep 16 I get charged $15.15 I was very confuse. I called blink fitness corporate number and they said that it wasn’t there problem and I had to go to my local gym so that they can deal with the problem knowing that fact that they are the ones responsible. The corporate office closed the wrong account my I no longer had my Corporate Blink Fitness membership. I was charged again on Oct 2 $15.68 then I want to my main blink fitness gym to speak to a manager who I thought could help me out he said that corporate was going to call me in 48 hours that never happened. Several weeks later I get charged on Nov 2 $15.68 and Nov 4 $52.24. Today’s date is Nov 5 and I went back to my local blink fitness gym to solve this problem haven’t seen any results. Reading everyone recent complaints I had to express my situation that this company doesn’t care about refunding you or helping you they just want your money especially when they messed up on cancel the wrong account. They still will charge you for cancelation. I will keep everyone updated on this on going process. Recent Update I finally got to speak with the Gym Supervisor for this location and I’ve been refunded all my money including. They offer to help me get my corporate membership back but I refused due to the pandemic still going on I’ll wait until it’s over. But it took a to total of 5 months to get this issue resolve that’s crazy.
I've been using Blink Fitness for about 2 years at many different locations (Harlem, Bryant Park 40th and 6th, 116th street and the one near Yankee Stadium) I decided to give this one a try and although it has not been open for long it already looks broken down, like they don't take care of it or the patrons at this particular Blink just don't care. It has a strange setup that is different from most Blinks. It was my first time trying this gym and on my first try, my locker was broken into and money was stolen. I had put a lock on it, so they either clipped or broke the lock and took cash and a metrocard from my wallet. They left all my IDs and everything else. I filed a report with this location the next day and another patron also said they broke into his locker. The staff mentioned they had an issue with theft here. This location makes for an easy escape for thieves because the lockers are located on main entrance while the actual gym is on 2nd floor. One guy can watch you work out while the accomplice can jack your stuff. Avoid this location or be very very careful with bringing valuables with you. I have learned my lesson and will never return to this location. I like Blink Fitness as a whole, but ghetto people gotta do ghetto sh**, which can ruin the experience that a good business can provide. Go to the one in Yankee Stadium or Mt Eden if you are in the Bronx.
I used to Love this gym, but after Planet Fitness closed this gym is a Zoo, too many people, and not enough machines or squat boxes, last Tuesday i had to wait 1 whole hour for a machine to finish my leg circuit, and then when you look to the treadmills and bikes none of them are being used!! Started going to the One on Riverdale, is way farther from my house cuz i live 1 stop away from this one, but the space, machines and the Hours(Mon-Fri till Midnight) are BETTER than Grand Concourse!!! This gym is ok but the machines they have aren’t enough and they only have 2 benches. You also have to deal with work being done in the gym RANDOMLY which has one side of the gym being closed which crowds the other side. The trainers here don’t last because Blink Fitness loves to take the majority of their pay they get from clients, Imagine training someone for $40 a session then having Blink take almost 40% of that? You wouldn’t want work there. It look like the regular employees don’t get paid much either because faces change very much. It’s hard imagining how Blink managed to last here but now with 24 Fitness gone they’ll probably get a leg up. The owners also show up randomly but nothing ever changes so most of the time it’s for show and uncomfortable employee oversight.
This gym is really poppin'! They play music and have the weights I've been looking for. Also, I felt like it has gotten better since I started working out this location. If the owner is reading this, please I'm requesting 70lbs and 80lbs bar weights to work out. Some Blink Fitness has them. Also, a vending machine in the men's locker room to buy things like deodorant and a power supply. I hope this gym stays cool, clean, organized, and poppin'! I have been with Blink Fitness since Jan 2016 at my old location, Jersey City, NJ and I've been transformed into a cut body thanks to Blink Fitness. Love ya and God bless!
Due to the size of the gym, which is not the gyms fault, many people are on top of each-other most of the time. I just started coming here with my boyfriend and we haven’t been able to get the most out of the gym b/c body builders hog a lot of the important machines. I will try to figure out the peak and off peak hours though, so that will probably make a difference hopefully. Overall it’s a decent blink and has everything you’d need to get your body right. Get a mat, find a quiet corner and do what you gotta do.
This place is the most convenient location to where I live. However, convenience does not always equal quality. The place never has working equipment, and in addition, (most of) the patrons treat it like a nightclub instead of a gym. I pay my hard earned money to exercise, not watch other people congregate and deny access to machines. If I’m Blink, I take a hard earned look at this location and make the necessary changes; otherwise, people will stop visiting and look at other gyms.
Literally the worst Blink gym location. The only equipment available is the cardio machines. The weight area is ALWAYS crowded by guys, certain guys don't even work out they are just there with their backpacks on I guess supporting one of their friends. I get it you're there for support or whatever but you have to be there for hours "supporting" a friend. Some of the staff isn't welcoming whatsoever, always have a sour face and only smile to whom they want to.
I being working out on this location for 2 months already and it never was brought to my attention that I can only workout for a single hour “(daily)” even when I took the time to booked an specific time to do it and today I was asked to leave the building since some other “members” wanted to come in without taking the time to ask or give me a few more minutes to finish.. so what’s the point of booking when I can’t finish my workout?... truly disappointed!
Fun gym to work out at I had fun with my friends Good business and friendly service reasonable prices .For a small store it's very neat and organized and we'll stocked . The store clerks response to your presence quickly and efficiently. i will suggest for everyone to check out their establishment it's good vibes and a good time be sure to stop by NYC this store have a great selection on items to choose from a true store for our convince .
Love my love gym, it’s always clean and machines are quickly replaced. Plus, if you want to see something changed, email them. They are open to feedback. They used to have a TON of cardio machines that rarely were used. They swapped it out for some more weights which is really nice. Only thing is it used to get really packed between 6pm-9pm. Definitely a great Bronx gem. Need to check it out now with the new Covid guidelines.
Today I called to check up on a matter. I froze my membership online starting for this month and I was still charged. I was checking on my refund today. I got the manager on the phone and she left me on hold for 8 min. I called back and the front desk girl said “we have other things we have to do so you can wait on hold or get a call back”. I never received a call back. They all need training in customer service
From the time I signed up back in June, The Manager has been very friendly as well as the staff. I can actually go to the gym workout, work off steam and feel comfortable in a clean gym and positive energy atmosphere, down to strangers respecting each other's space and workouts. As they say " It starts from a good captain to run a good sailing ship full of sailors" - They are definitely doing it well !
Don't waste your time or money. Horrible service! They do not respect the time you sacrifice to be there, by not showing up to scheduled sessions, or the time you sacrifice to work and pay for their overpriced sessions, or the time dedicated away from family to work and be at the gym. TOTAL DISREGARD for their clients goals. Was very disappointed and discouraged by the service provided by this gym!!
I've come to this gym since it first opened and it has been getting more and more crowded ever since. Especially since they moved a Planet Fitness that was near there. They can use another gym or some more space. The staff is very nice, pleasant, and accommodating. Lastly, since it gets so crowded at this gym, they should stay open later or be open 24 hours. But they close way too early!
In my experience here, there’s never been toooo many people that you couldn’t get a pump in. There’s a lot of cardio machines and around 2 of every other machine. Really nice and kept clean. The people that go there as well are also very nice and really helpful to newcomers; fixing their form and even teaching them new workouts to get better gains. Overall a really nice gym.
I was going to that gym since 2020 I had heard the rumors that things had been lost until 04/13/2023 they opened my locker and they stole my wallet and my cell phone and it turns out that the employees told me that a gym that paid for membership is not responsible to stolen objects very irresponsible on the part of blink I am very dissatisfied with that
I love that they keep it very clean. Everyone who works there is very helpful. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because they only have one bench press and one assisted bench press machine. They could take out one or two of the gazillion treadmills for one more of these machines. Other than that, great place... SMALL, but great.
I went to the Fordham branch to get a membership. When I tried to ask some questions before registration, a staff member at the reception ignored me totally and started talking to a man being on line behind me. The staff member treated me as I was totally invisible. I was very surprised by her and shocked!! I hope this is not racial profiling.
The staff are ratchet AF and the crowd is typical bronx... some jail birds , wankstas and girls that dress up to do 4 squats and FaceTime. Its 20$ a month , you get what you pay for. I use this gym for cardio and weights (when available) but it is funny to see the hoodrats coming to the gym with sunglasses on
It's keep neat and clean and there is actually space to breath plus the staff is friendly. Can't rate it 5 stars do to the lack of strength machines...which they should have at least 2 of each...not fun when you want to use a machine and there 2 teams tag teaming them or just someone sitting there using their phone.
Where is the gym?? barely any floor space. One of each for main machine. So expect nothing but wait. Rollers are alllllllll gone! So don’t do anything that requires you using a rollers after you work out you will suffer! No heavy weight balls basically nothing this is a gym you bring your own equipment to.
The staff is wonderful and they keep the gym immaculate! I look forward to going to the gym everyday! And there's no pressure from the more fit members to those like myself who are really just starting and have a ways to go. I just had 2 spine surgeries last April, so I'm not able to move as fast as most.
The place is clean, not crowded when I go between the time of 11 am and 1 pm. Machine works and the staff is helpful. Disinfecting napkins are available to clean equipment before or after you are done. The only issue I have is sometimes there is a smell of dead rat by the dumbbells.
There's literally a rush hour coming here. At a certain time it gets very packed surprisingly because the cardio and the weights are in one room. The room isn't very big and there's not many duplicate pieces of equipment to give everyone a chance to have a good workout.
I love Blink...Its Magnificent...Greetings go a long way...Very clean...Beautiful atmosphere...Service with a smile...Its a pleasure to be a member...The new set up its simply amazing and the best...Thanks to all the Employees and Managers...Way to go...
Staff was very rude just cause I went with my wife and I was showing her what I was doing so she could learn I go to the one on 230 and the staff over there are way more respectful and also the gym is cleaner and way better , staff are too gettho..
First of all I want to start this review by saying I am a fan of blink that being said this is by far one of the worst locations I have seen it is always especially on Mondays and after hours went in there today on surprisingly was not
Ever since the planet fitness nearby closed down, this gym has become a JOKE. It’s overly packed, muggy and the new front desk staff are dismissive and unprofessional. I have canceled my membership. Go to another gym!!
I visit this location just because it’s convenient to me but needs serious management and efficiency! Machines take weeks to be fixed and you literally have to spend more time than planned waiting for others to be done
Machines always work, clean locker room. It is kinda small, so it gets crowded at times. I can't really speak about staff because i never really interact with them but they seem nice to other people.
The manger, Bonnie, is super chill and friendly. I had a cut on my finger and she went beyond just giving me a band aid. Was very helpful and concerned. Would recommend this Blink location to anyone.
its cool , just really overcrowded most times , so bad its lines waiting to use equipment.. , staff is friendly .. NEED TO MAKE THE BLINK FITNESS FRANCHISE 24/7 YOU GUYS WOULD MAKE A TON OF MONEY.
Small location, not the best machine options and free weights. The best blink location is in the city they have a heavy bag for boxing and so much more equipment to try and the mat area is larger.
It's considerably better than planet fitness but after the closure of the PF that was nearly by, lately, it have been more crowded than usual. I just wish they would extend the hours.
Blink is a cool gym. I got in the early morning. I get a good workout, equipment is always in working order, nobody bothers you. It's Great! Oh and Very Nice Staff …
Terrible experience! Instead of charging me only $60 for the buyout the just decided to charge me $100. They didn't even explained the reason. Never coming back, ciao Blinkshi*
Great location from job office but people tend to hog machines by placing their clothes on one machine while using another and never wipes them down in-between or afterwards.
The price is really good but the gym itself is OK. The gym is often crowded :( I would suggest coming very early in the morning when there aren't as many people around.
I feel like they have tricked us all to join this gym how can you close a gym at 10 pm and on the weekends at 7 thats just redicoulous just join something better
Staff is great, management is great, equipment great, no complaints, 5star in my book all good "I wink then i blink". My sanctuary is Blink Faztz ya dig... …
Usually pretty crowded, try to get their early or close to closing. Very clean, sometimes music is too loud and you can’t hear the music in your headphones.
Good gym. Everything is on 1 floor. Pretty much everything you need is there, just wish they had vertical back machines. They only have horizontal ones.
I wouldn't skip not one single day to workout and hit the weights for strength & conditioning. LET'S GO!!!!! …
Not a bad gym, its actually cheap and have some good equipments, but it gets crowded sometimes, you just need to find the perfect time to go.
I love it now a days because it’s mostly empty in the morning. I wish the put more cleaning wipes to clean the toilet seat and a trashcan.
Wonderful people and excellent services!!! Live it!. I do my workouts there with my husband They offer a lot of good stuff!!!.
Good music, helpful staff, clean enviroment, lots of working machines. Fairly new so i hope they keep up this set of standards.
This joint is weak. Old beat up machines, too much politics with the weights. 2-3 clowns always hogging the important weights
It's very cleann.. I always see a lady cleaninggg ALL the time, every second...I just wish it was 24 hr..or at least till 1am
Super active in afternoons but is the best place to be after 5 am, the do have all equipment necessary for you to workout
Best gym, Happy they extended few more hours on the weekend during COVID, Hopefully everything gets back to nothing soon.
Very impressive. Clean surroundings and friendly staff. It's a fairly new place so I hope they maintain this standard.
I'm enjoying very much this gym. Lots of machines to use. I'm still getting acquainted with the place. So far.. …
This isn't Equinox. You get what you pay for. Place is good for the price. Gets a little too busy in the afternoon.
Love it!!! Its very very clean , it has all the machines i need im obsessed. The staff are very nice and helpful
Excellent place to come and workout in if your looking for companionship I personally just want to workout!!
Well the place is a bit small, however clean, good music, friendly staff. Equipment is in fairly good shape.
Has everything you need to get a good workout and the staff does their best to keep the place clean.
Clean and the staff are nice. The only negatives are it's often crowded and the music can be loud.
Update 11/29/22 Please, please, please periodically maintain the ladies locker room, especially
Why do they mop and clean while people work out? That's a safety hazard. They do this everyday.
Julioadrian was the best thing to ever happen to this location , Thank you all for everything !
It's always crowded and they close early. Other than that it's always clean, I love the staff.
Premises and locker room is very clean ... equipment is new and functional ... courteous staff
Great value for the price. Its clean and well ventilated . The equipment is in good shape.
4 stars bc they don't go around and tell other members to keep their masks on
I finished a 30-minute chest workout before going to work. It was necessary.
Rules are being followed...not crowded at all...good 1st time experience.
Amazing staff and many machines. Best gym experience in the fordham area
Premises are always clean ... good variety of machines and weight area
I don't deal with rude people and here they work all day
Great place to workout, very clean and cool staff team.
Love it, though I wish it had more fixed barbells.
Not a bad gym for the money. Staff is fine.
Small size a lot people busy place
The best gym near my house ♥️
Good gym
