The Bodega has been a personal favourite of our family since lockdown ended. The atmosphere of the place is superb. The music is at the right volume and it is never empty, no matter the time of the day. Service is always top notch, regardless of who is on, and what time of the day it is. All the staff are attentive and look after everyone. Now onto the food, we ALWAYS get the house nachos as a starter. They are divine. Freshly sauces on large tasty nachos is a perfect way to start. All of the mains are a reasonable size and great price. Recently I have been favouring the burger (it comes in a wrap so isn't messy!), but have tried most things on the menu from the tacos, quesadilllas to the half chicken and have never been dissapointed by my meal. We don't usually eat dessert but the churros are lovely and a great way to end a meal. Lastly the drinks. The bodega has a huge cocktail menu so there is something for everyone. There is a happy hour too, where you get 2 of the same cocktail for a discount. 100/10. Will be coming back again and again.

Went once, soon as we walked in it was apparent they wanted to go home early and preferred not to cater to us... server went and asked manager if they would still serve food and they said they would at this point I looked at the open kitchen and the chef was literally waving us away as if they wanted to go home early and were joking between themselves that we go away, they seen me catch them in there little joke and clearly felt awkward about it, if that's not extremely unprofessional then I don't know what it is. We still sat down to eat and food was decent. Attended today at 8pm as the time on Google said 10:30 and was told they have stopped doing food for the night which was an inconvenience. Will not travel to eat here again as maybe told they are closing early. Overall extremely bad practice for a business who clearly do not care about customers. Food is decent, shame about the attitude.

Service and atmosphere were fine. Server declined bringing out tacos as a starter as didn’t want the kitchen to delay, she seemed to think we’d be waiting a while. However 5 minutes after ordering everything came out?! Nicely decorated restaurant. Noisy but atmospheric. Sat us by the toilet and kitchen which was very cold. Food was very disappointing. Prices are good but makes sense because of the tiny portion sizes (we had tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas for reference). No flavour, barely any meat, rice was worse than microwave rice you get from the supermarket, not authentic South American experience (we spent 6 months travelling South America) we had caipirinhas and the tasted like a water lime drink, was weak and not sugary (like they are meant to be) Service (which was over 10%) automatically added to the bill so you have to awkwardly ask for it to be taken off because everything was sub par. Disappointed- was a birthday meal that was less than great.

I found a new favorite place. The first time I went for their happy hour of 2 cocktails for 10 pounds, I ordered house nachos which were a perfect snack with the drinks, I also ordered the Puerto Rican fried chicken and it was delicious and brought back all my memories of family gatherings in Puerto Rico. Next time I went , we were served by such a lovely waitress that was helpful and friendly. We ordered the brisket and chicken quesadilla which were perfect and is making my mouth water just remembering it. We also got a Brazilian dish of sea food and rice that we didn’t appreciate too much. I will be coming back often, especially for their signature margarita Another edit, the waiter today victor was amazing, very enthusiastic and friendly as well as helpful. I will definitely advise coming for their signature margarita

Me and my two friends went i think some items are fantastic and some are just not it, i would defo recommend the birria tacos, the nachos where ok and the drinks where amazing. Unfortunately my friends didn’t enjoy their meals. The service was incredibly slow though, we waited 15 min for tap water and had to ask another waiter for our bill as the one we asked was taking 10+ min, the other waiter got the bill to us in under a minute. So for this reason we where a bit bothered by the service charge added on which was fairly significant. i much prefer tipping on my own accord. wouldn’t go again x

Being gluten free, I love this place and in the last year it has become one of my favourite places to eat, my daughter and I dine there regularly. Unfortunately the last occasion I visited with my daughter resulted in an unfriendly encounter with a member of their team, due to this we walked out and I don’t think I will return again. The waitress was rude and appeared to be offended when I asked why we had been told to come back in half an hour when she had clearly seated another couple straightaway within minutes. I was met with a frosty reception, as it just so happened a table had become available. Regardless I asked a question and wasn’t expecting a rude and sarcastic response.

I loved this place, and would often travel there just to order the same two dishes, however on today, my usual meal now included a tangy melted cheese sauce versus the original shredded cheese. This was horrible. The melted cheese changed the entire taste of the naked burrito, it was so bad I could not eat more than one bite. The staff were very understanding and explained that the owner changed some items on the menu, and now included the melted Leicester cheese sauce. I was baffled as to why a melted Leicester cheese sauce would be served on a South American dish anyway! Please go back to the regular menu and get rid of the God awful cheese sauce!

Nice staff, had a server who was on their second shift and they were really polite. Food was great, nicely stuffed wrap, lots of filling and sweet potato fries were perfect. Cocktails are good too, some with a good kick. Churros were ok but still tasty. Had some good murals on the wall and even though we were sat on high stools they were comfy. Photos included are from second visit. Fish tacos were amazing and the nachos were some of the best we'd had. However upon this visit the service was incredibly slow. I guess it depends on who is on shift on the day.

The atmosphere is buzzing and the service is top notch unfortunately the same cannot be said about the food. Inconsistent best describes the food here. We were a group of 10 and had ordered bowls of nachos (we had to fill in a pre order form as we were a group of more than 7) wand the initial bowl that arrived was crispy, fresh and tasty but was meant for a different table. When our bowls arrived, it was burnt ( the wait staff were polite and did not add the first bowl of nachos to our bill). The ceviche was drenched in lemon juice and was teeth tinglingly sour. Overall a tale of ups and downs with some of the starters being good with the mains mostly being a let down.

When we arrived we were seated straight away and our order was taken within good time as well. Problem is we were actually waiting over half an hour for our food to come out, it didn't ever look like it was really busy - we did have a member of staff come out and apologise saying that all of a sudden it had got busy!!!! The food was ok although my husband was disappointed with the portion size of rice that arrived, also £2.50 for a small glass of diet pepsi did appear to be a bit steep for me - if it had been free refills that may not have been too bad but we were not aware that this was the case. Not sure I would go again.

It’s my second time to come for a lunch in Bodega Cantina. We would say if you prefer to have small plates, this restaurant is one of a good place to chill out. We had ordered Baja Fish, Mexican cola chicken wings and Mexican chicken with spicy rice. We appreciated the cola chicken wings the most as we love its ginger flavour and mixed well with cola. We feel a bit disappointed about the chicken with spicy rice and its a bit bland and tasteless. Baja fish is nice with lime juice. We ordered a cup of cocktail and turned out to two and one was free.

My wife and I went here before the football and so pleased we did. We shared the Nachos as a starter and were the best Nachos we'd had so great start. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant as I've seen good reviews about it. I loved the ambience walking into it. Very Mexican. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The cocktails were amazing! The beef birria, I found quite sour. The blue corn tacos that came with it was nice, so was the dips. The sweet potato fries were really good. The dark chocolate tart was too rich for me. I'll definitely be back as I have a few things on the menu that I would like to try. All in all, good value for money.

Great food, very convenient location in St Martin's Square in city centre. They updated the menu since I last went (pre-pandemic) and it's even better now (although would've loved to have the ceviche again which is no longer a menu item). Lunch options are varied and decently priced, there is is a lunch deal menu too. Looking forward to going back and trying some other dishes, I had the Argentinian steak and it was delicious (if slightly overdone).

I had an incredible dining experience at Botega Cantina! The food was beyond delicious; I savored the mouthwatering enchiladas, perfectly crispy skin-on fries, and heavenly churros with Dulce de Leche. What truly elevated the evening was our server, Lianne, who not only provided impeccable service but also spoke Spanish fluently, adding an authentic touch to our visit. I can't wait to return to this fantastic mexican restaurant!

Looked this place up on Google and was excited to try it after a recommendation. Despite opening hours of 10pm on Tuesday, I arrived for dinner at 8pm and was told they were closing the kitchen so wouldn’t be able to serve us (other diners were seated and being served). Won’t be coming back any time soon given they don’t answer their phone and make up their own opening hours to suit them.

Pleasant atmosphere, a bit slow and inadequate service, staff with no experience in the field. Food for some tastes but ok. The location is retro and pleasant, hopefully in the future employees will gain experience in communicating with customers and understanding their needs, asking twice to be sure what customers want.

Visited here yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere and decoration is fun and service was good. Didn’t take long at all to come out despite ordering a mix of plates. The food was tasty, the nachos were a good recommendation and I loved the cola wing sauce. I would come here again.

I love this place! It has such a relaxed and fun vibe, the food and drinks are spot on and service is good too :). Bodega does some lovely reasonable lunch time deals , so if you are in the area, highly recommend visiting.

It's a good place, the food is nice, prices alittle on the high end (the beef is worth it tho) but like many places in the UK now the 10% service charge is here, this American tip culture is not the way forward, just pay your staff properly.

I've had good dining experience here. But worst takeaway experience - ordered food from uber eats and the rice was so stale. We got sick after eating 2 spoons. This was really unexpected.

I celebrated my birthday yesterday in Bodega. The food was amazing, the service remarkable and we had a lovely time there. The nachos are a must along with the Elotes. I also tried the argentinian steak and was delicious, tender and juicy.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They seemed a bit short staffed and we had to wait awhile to even get a menu. It was quite noisy too, the music was on the loud side and it was busy. Would go again though!

Great food, followed by great staff attitudes, one thing I would say is I have a big appetite (given my smaller frame) I recommend ordering a starter as well as a side and a main in order to be filled.

Staff were really friendly and the restaurant itself was cosy. The food was good, however the nachos were really good; they were baked unlike other nachoes which are only tortilla chips.

Looking for the best cocktail in Leicester, look no further. Mexican food is freshly prepared. Bodega make their own Nachos. Nice vibe that goes wit great food and decadent cocktails.
