The reviews here keep complaining about stairs but this mall has ELEVATORS AND ESCALATORS! The comments about "stairs stairs stairs" for 8 floors of shopping scared me off but I went there today and was pleased to say I found this mall to be the best mall in Rio for tourists. It was cleaner, more organized and featured many American fast food and restaurants : McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, Outback and Taco Bell. It even has a theater on the 8th floor. The view from. The 8th floor btw is excellent for Sugarloaf Mountain and the adjacent lake where the boats/yachts are parked/anchored. Not sure again why everyone is complaining... It's a great mall! The other "tourist mall" is more like an outlet mall compared to this place
By far my favorite shopping mall in Rio de Janeiro. It has an spectacular view to the Botafogo Bay & Marina area and the Sugarloaf Mountains. It's very well organized and safe, with a convenient multiple floors parking system (with automatic machines for payment). There's an app for convenience. There are several restaurants and coffee shops here, including at least 2 big food courts and several smaller areas for dining along the floors. Aside from eating, visitors can expect a cinema, several stores and services in general, of course, including a drugstore and a small co-working space. It's a pet-friendly shopping mall. It's totally worth the visit any day of the week, but specially on weekdays.
A very good mall to go shopping and take a time. There's a nice sort of stores, restaurants and snack bars. You can find services like banks and a big cinema too. There's only a small inconvenient: it's a 8 floors building, so you will need face escalators or elevators all the time. In return you can enjoy a stunning view from Botafogo's Bay and the Sugar Loaf. You can easily get there by car, bus or Subway (the Botafogo metrô station is just one block away). And from 2018 November till 2019 January you can shop from cariocas independents designers on the beautiful store O Mercado, on the 2o floor.
There aren't many shops, a few restaurants, due to it's small size is better to call it a mall. The parking is terrible with sharp turns and tight car spaces. The parking spaces for electric cars are the same for pregnant and are always occupied by common cars. Also it is hard to get in, as most pedestrians does not respect the car signal. I do not recommend visiting this place unless you want to eat junk food or buy expensive stuff. The restrooms are no very clean and not well maintained, also it is hard to see where are the fire extinguisher and fire hoses.
Regardless of whether you like the shopping mall or not (it's okay if you don't, its vertical layout can be annoying to walk around. Back in the day people used to joke calling it "Botafogo escalator shopping"), I'd still recommend visiting it so that you can take a look at the beautiful view of the Botafogo Bay from the food court of the top floor (for people with limited mobility, there are elevators available). Besides, the stores are okay. They've got good cinema and good food courts too.
Great shopping with a variety of stores (not too much, but enough to find anything you need). If you have any special acessibility need its not a perfect place: there are a lot of floors that can be reach by escalators, and few elevators (I think only 2 elevators) that are generally full, so you have to queue and wait a little bit. In the rooftop you can see a wonderful view of the Guanabara Bay and the Botafogo cove, as well the sugar loaf. It sure worth a visit!
Because of the vertical nature of this mall, it might take some time to find out a particular store. Plus, there restaurants and eateries are spread around multiple floors, which can be confusing. Still, this mall has two things going for it. First, its location is very convenient and it is easily accessible from Botafogo hotels. Second, its top floor has an amazing view of the Guanabara Bay. It is breathtakingly beautiful in a clear day.
Decent shopping center, but it's much more popular as a lunch destination. Lots of restaurants if you're looking for a quick bite or a full meal, there's a food court on the 7th and 8th floor with a beautiful view of the bay, but there are lots of other cute cafes and dining options on the other floors as well. Not many stores if you're looking for clothes, but if it's on the way then it's worth checking out.
Best shopping mall in Rio. Does it have everything? No. The bigger shopping mall Rio Sul is where you want to go for the full shopping experience. But if you want to get the standard stores, such as chocolate stores, phone stores, confectionery, clothing, restaurants, go here. It also has the most beautiful view of Rio from the food floor. Amazing. Love it.
Surprisingly nice and beautiful shopping centre by the Botafago beach, with retail options that seem much better inside, and a general price range for the upper middle class. For now it looks well maintained and brightly lit though going up and down is very confusing due to the architectural layout.
This mall is ok. Not as big as RioSul which is located in the same neighborhood. However it has the most beautifull bird view of Sugar Loaf and Botafogo beach for free. Just go up to eighth floor where there is the food court and enjoy the view with many shots.
Good shopping mall here in Rio, I drove here and it was easy to find using my phone's GPS. Good amount of stores and dining options here. Remember to hold on to your parking ticket and pay for it in the designated areas inside the mall before you leave.
This is a nice shopping mall, very clean and tall so it is easy to navigate each level. There are many escalators in the shopping mall, and the elevator is available too. The top floors have great views over Botafogo Beach and there is a nice cinema.
Many shops of good quality. Food court on multiple floors and a cinema on the top level. The layout is not very logical though and it can feel like a maze in there. Save yourself 10 minutes if you need to go to the top floor and take the elevator...
Decent mall. Not too many options but has some selections for clothing, perfume/cosmetics, and food. Two of my favorites about this mall is that they have a area for coworking and a view of the city at the top - so cool!
It's a good mall in a useful location. Be aware that the lines for the elevator are almost always very long. Alternatively, you can take an escalator. You will almost never find what you want on the first floor.
That mall was built in an old Sears building. Now it has many small shops and Cafe shops, restaurants, pharmacy and a bank. Located near a subway entrance it is very convenient and nice too.
The rooftop views and restaurant are the highlights of this place, the mall was pretty standard to me but take it with a grain of salt as I am not into malls tbh
It's a good place to go for some air-conditioned time and take some great pic from the rooftop, iconic sugarloaf and also they have a cinema!
Nice place with a lot of options in terms of stores and restaurants the mall is within walking distance from Botafogo subway stop.
Beautiful shopping center with on top small places to drink/eat and enjoy the Beautiful view over Botafogo and Sugar Loaf
It's not too expensive plus it's very accessible (not too fat from subway stations or major bus lines)
Cafe Nooma on the 8 Floor sells high quality chocolate and food. The best view in the mall.
This mall has the view of a fancy diner. You can eat Taco Bell and enjoy the amazing view.
Beautiful, fresh and clean. Sellers are really cool. There's so much to see.
Great experience. I went there to exchange my currency with travelex.
Nice, clean mall. Very popular terrace for a party
