We visited this restaurant on big sis's (大姐) recommendation for her big birthday celebration, and were not disappointed. Botellon's dinner menu offers a range of tapas, a few options of paella, desserts and a sizeable drinks menu for those so inclined. I have not tried any of their lunch menu items and so cannot comment on those. The 3 tapas I ordered were the crispy eggplant, lamb shoulder and saganaki with figs. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant, but the way they fried it with batter made it edible to an eggplant hater like me. The saganaki was absolutely divine, rich in flavour and the saltiness perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the figs - definitely a must try. The lamb shoulder's flavours were on point, and the meat pleasantly tender, but we were a little disappointed with the size for the price. My brother immediately ordered some sourdough when he saw the dish because he knew he would need more food. It was a blessing in disguise as it went perfectly with the dish! We tried the chicken paella which also had chorizo. It was quite tasty, and was probably the best paella I've had in Brisbane so far. Importantly not too soggy. Price wise, expect to pay 20+ per tapas and 40-60 for a paella. I would say if you eat in a group, a tapas each and a paella to share would be quite filling. The staff were amazing and took the time to explain the options to us and ensured we had a good experience. It can get quite busy here even on a typical weeknight, best to book a table ahead of time.

Met up for a Sunday night early drink and meal. We had made a booking online earlier in the day but couldn't be sure of our booking until they opened after 4pm on the day. We had a plan B but headed along. It wasn't busy. There was a pleasant welcome and explanation of the tapas menu that was very helpful in choosing quantities suitable for us (two people). The wine list features some good international wines of varying styles. We had a Tempranillo Granache blend. The glassware is lovely quality for serving wines and cocktails. We ordered two tapas-a potato and a confit duck. The first dish had a great texture and yummy. The duck confit was lacking in flavour, couldn't taste the citrus and a terrible texture in the mouth. We are both big fans of duck dishes however if we weren't so hungry we wouldn't have continued to eat it. No one asked how the food was as our plates were cleared or on leaving. The menu heavily featured rice based dishes ie paella, for four people (a longer wait and not our favourite -we were informed we could take the rest home) and pricey steaks for main courses. See photos of menu. We decided we would adjourn to another restaurant for some protein and greens and then dessert. We enjoyed the bar for a pre dinner drink. Staff were polite.

Highlights: The pate!!! One of the better ones I’ve had recently in a sea of average pate and foie gras so if you’re into that, this shouldn’t be missed imo Patatas w jamon- yerm, absolutely should be ordered Saganaki, delicious- I mean how can it not be Eggplant- truffle honey was very sweet but it was pretty good. The meh: - the flan, incongruent flavours. Just not very tasty. - we ordered 2 paellas but they were so bland it was like eating porridge idk. I thought the seafood paella would be infused with seafood flavour but it was not so. I thought the chicken chorizo one would then at least be infused with chicken and or chorizo flavour as they are pretty strong flavours but it was also not the case. We were surprised by how far behind the paella fell short considering how good our entrees had been! My sisters commented that we’ve consistently had very flavourful paellas with a good texture at both restaurants and food trucks at markets in both Australia and Europe until now so were surprised by how watery and porridge-y these paellas were. Overall impression: Excellent ambience, lively and lovely spot Friendly helpful service, waitress passionate about the food and offered good recommendations Fantastic tapas and a great spot to bring coworkers and friends to sip wine and slowly dine with Paella and dessert has room for improvement Good selection of wines

Happy Hour was a great experience, with a $20 offer of a glass of bubbles, red or white wine + a cheese platter. Cocktails are highly recommended too. The staff were very friendly and happy to accommodate, and we enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. The one slightly negative thing I'd say would be that the inside seating area was a bit stuffy, as no aircon on and it was a very humid afternoon. Thankfully we were seated near the door, so every now and then a nice breeze came in. Have been for dinner too, all shared plates. Zero negatives to say, as the food was fresh, delicious, flavoursome, and presented nicely. Everything went well together and the group I went with all enjoyed themselves. Staff were friendly, helpful with recommendations and came at the right times to take away plates, refill drinks, etc.

Tucked away in the neighbourhood there is plenty of street parking. Great relaxing atmosphere and friendly attentive service. We could not try the paella as serving is too big for 2 people so we ordered a few tapas instead. I loved the rustic smell of charred sourdough, it went so well with jamon and pickled garlic. Oysters were fresh and accompanied by sherry mignonette which was refreshing. Tortillas papatas was on the bland side while chorizo was too sweet but that’s personal preference. Lastly we had the octopus which again had the amazing charred smell and flavour. Overall an amazing meal as I was not sure what to expect, can’t wait to go back and try more tapas, and hopefully the paella! There is also a good selection of wine list and I loved the Coronas (Tempranillo) from Spain.

Celebrated a lovely birthday lunch for my mum here. We had the standard banquet for 8 people. All of the dishes were great. I especially enjoyed the chorizo a la sidra and the eggplant chips. The churros were some of the best I've had. Our vegetarian guest was well catered for. The staff were excellent. They brought out dessert with a candle and sang 'Happy Birthday'. Everyone enjoyed their experience, especially Mum. Recommended.

Very helpful staff member suggested leaving out the sobrassada from the Casa Motta burrata for an additional vegetarian option on the standard banquet, which already had a good vegetarian selection.

As part of a group who meet for dinner once or twice per month for the past 4 years our experience at Botellon was voted the best restaurant to date. The food, the atmosphere and in particular the service was all first class. We had the Standard Banquet for 7 of our group and one member chose from the menu to suit his particular dietary requirements. The Banquet was so good the group voted to go back to Botellon for our Christmas/December function and have the Premium Banquet. I could rave about each course of the Banquet, each was excellent and such a varied taste , I personally have never eaten so much at one sitting as the food was so good. Not one complaint from anyone in the group about anything at all.

Great food, and fantastic service. The restaurant manages to create a lovely atmosphere, even with its location on a busy road and a train station directly across the road. The tapas menu was extensive with a variety of different style dishes. There are so many vegetarian options to choose from! My favourite dish was the braised chickpeas.

We were a table of 4. Must book. And it’s 2 hour seating. Wish it was longer so we can finish our second bottle of wine (Txomin Etxaniz,2022) . We ordered the jamon, pate, prawns, potatoes and chicken paella - crispy skin!!!. Delicious all of it!!! Service was fabulous too. We will visit again!! ——— 10 Dec We visited a second time within a few weeks. The sourdough bread and jamon is a must have! We tried the chorizo, eggplant chips, octopus and pork belly. Not as good as our first time, definitely preferred the tapas we ordered above.

Booked a long table to seat 17 guests for my husband’s little birthday soirée last night and we were treated to such a lovely dining experience! Great selection of tapas and share plates from the banquet menu. There was alot of ‘Ooh’s and ‘Ahh’s going around the table each time a dish was served. I especially appreciated the lovely young ladies who attended to our table last night, for being very attentive and genuinely gracious to our guests. Spectacular service, incredible flavours. Thank you for hosting us at your lovely restaurant, Team Botellon! Can’t wait to come back for more.

My partner and I had dinner here on Sunday night and it was fantastic. Actually so that this is my first ever restaurant review. All the meals were packed with flavor and all we could think about is when we come back next time what other things we should also try! I am also appreciative of the hospitality staff as they were helpful with the wine selection and even when my partner knocked over her wine glass by mistake the waitress treated us with a smile and cleaned it up so we could get back to eating. I recommend the Sunday evening if you want a more intimate time as there was a comfortable amount of people dining at the restaurant.

Amazing service from everyone from the bar staff, to the floor staff. Brilliant, flavoursome food, served with flair. A great variation of food, from tapas, paellas to steak. And a generous selection of wines. And the cocktails go down a treat. A must do! LOVE LOVE LOVE

A friend and I enjoyed tapas with a glass of wine, followed by flat whites for lunch. The prawns were delicious and the crispy eggplant was devine. Wines by the glass have been carefully selected to not disappoint and the coffee is also good. The quality of service and the friendliness of the staff also impressed me. I hope to return soon!

Atmosphere was excellent and a great range of beautiful wines and food to pick from. Great place to share little plates with friends and family!! I’m my opinion some plates were not worth the $$$ only on size…flavors were great. Dessert especially wasn’t worth the $$$ Overall great experience and highly recommend

I've been here a number of times, mostly for drinks and snacks, but I was very disappointed having dinner here last night. Whilst the food is excellent, the lack of vege and the size of the main was very disappointing. $100 for a T bone that was clearly not 750g and not evenly cooked was a deal breaker... plus $20 something for cabbage which was minuscule... what a pity because I've never been disappointed before.
