I was not very impressed with my experience at this establishment. My initial plan was to bowl and get food there, however, that didn’t happen because of lack of service. To start, the server asked if we wanted anything to drink when we got in our lane. We wanted to look at the menu, so the server offered to come back in a few minutes. That was the last time we saw the server for the remainder of the night. We even looked around and did not see him. Probably some of the worst example of service I’ve seen at the bowling alley. They could have made more money if they gave the customer a little bit more attention, but we decided against chasing down the server because of the prices we were spending, the server should be attentive to guests. This is not only checking in with us, but keeping with his word and saying that he will return. We left early, and got food at a different place. Since the server ignored us for so long, we had a chance to look at the menu I would suggest adding more than one beef burger to your menu. It’s cool that you have an impossible burger, but this is America. There should be more than just one burger with lettuce and tomato on it with an additional two dollar slice of cheese, I suggest offering a more fun burger like something with onion rings on it or caramelized onions. Also, two dollars for cheese? Cmon you guys can do better. I haven’t eaten it so I don’t know how it tastes, but too much of the menu seemed to be focused on appetizers when the hero of the meal is the main course. The basic lettuce and tomato doesn’t really do it for me. The signature fries looked pretty promising, but I didn’t get to try them because there was no server to be found. I don’t think I would come back. For those of you that are going, good luck getting food but you probably will bowl. The only good thing was that they had the Knicks game playing on the big screen down our alley, which made it a bit better. Nonetheless, we were there to bowl and eat and we didn’t get to eat.
I went here with a group of 3 ladies. When we arrived we were told that it was an hour wait, which was fine. Once it was our time to get to our lane, the previous party literally just finished their game. The previous group was pretty big so there was a lot of leftover food & drinks on the table. We patiently waited for the table to be cleaned which ended up taking up 20 mins for them to actually start to clean. Once they cleaned we were able to start our game. We had to hunt down our server because we wanted food. We ordered and continued playing our game. Our food came about 45 minutes later, barely hot & seemed like it was microwaved. I had mozzarella sticks which were not cheesy how mozzarella sticks normally are. They were lukewarm and the cheese was like a block. My friend ordered wings and they were huge but soggy. As our game was finishing, a couple strolled into our lane telling us that they were booked for our lane. We were about to pay for the next game but before we could even do that they booked someone else without even asking if we’re playing another round. We ended up having a second game so I said maybe I should order dessert…. I got funnel cake fries. I’ll leave the photo below so you can see for yourself how they brought them out. It’s the day after we went bowling and my entire group has been having stomach pains or nausea. I will never believe tiktok reviews after visiting this place. Also the floors were supper sticky meaning they hadn’t mopped at all. I would rate this experience as a 3/10.
Astoria Bowl appears to have been bought out by Bowl360. Very disappointing. There are a few major downgrades / problems that fans of Astoria Bowl would want to know. - The lighting has been changed; no longer is it bright and well lit. Now it's dim with irritating lasers - The venue now has either massively irritating children's music or extremely low quality club music depending on when you go, and it's about 50% too loud. Who would ever think that music should be so loud that you cannot hear the group you are with is beyond me, but that is the vibe they are cultivating. Even if they kept the terrible music but cut the volume down heavily it would be a huge improvement - The drinks are now 50% more expensive - The food menu is totally revamped. It's also 50%-100% more expensive. Stay way from the burger; the old $6 mainstay is now a $12 burned hockeypuck. The boneless wings however were exceptional It's still a spacious welcoming space. But if you gravitated to Astoria Bowl for the old world charm, bright lighting, affordable food, and 70's atmostphere, you probably won't like this very much at all. New owners, new crowd EDIT: I attached a picture of the (what I consider to be) terrible dim laser-lit club vibe. If you like this, come through. If it looks bad to you, believe me, it's worse than you fear.
Edit: they replied saying “the special is not guaranteed.” The only problem is the staff literally crossed our names off the list without calling us when it wasn’t 1PM yet!!! And we were there at 1:05 AFTER WAITING 45MINS to check on what was going on. We didn’t get a call and they initially gave us attitude about how “they called us.” We showed them our call log, manager also checked his phone. NO CALL. They crossed off at least 10 names after us where all these other parties probably were wasting their time waiting too. Management here is a JOKE. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. The manager couldn’t even offer us the special pricing to compensate for wasting our time. Don’t come here unless you want to waste your time. Came early on Saturday 12:15PM trying to catch the special before 1PM. They told us wait was 20-30minutes—okay fine no problem. We waited outside in our car waiting for them to give us a call. Around 1PM we still don’t get a call so we go in and turns out they crossed off 10 peoples names AFTER ours claiming they “called” us. They didn’t. Then manager, Chris couldn’t even accommodate for his staff’s screw up who claimed “she called us.” The staff here are incompetent and worst first experience ever. Didn’t even get to bowl and wasted over 2 hours driving and waiting here.
Editing after my group of 10*** got here the place is a joke. 10 ppl in 1 lane.. because everything is reserved but they “dont do reservations” .. “Place was pretty empty on a Saturday night- thought it was great since parking was convenient. Lanes were smooth since our first game didn’t mess up but they didn’t let us finish our food / drinks. Our food came towards the end of the game which is understandable but they immediately put another party of 2 in our lane when we were still working on completely full drinks. While understandable if busy but clearly the place was dead and it was done without looking just like when we were given lane 11 - there was a huge party still putting their shoes on and getting their stuff together. They had also just finished their game and were a huge party. More consideration (TIME) should be given for people to exit the lane & for the area to be cleaned before given to another group. The couple after me looked pissed that we were in their chairs & our food & drinks were on the table. On another note placing 14 people in a seating area of 6 people is the stupidest thing I’ve seen. There were lanes available and we will make sure to never come back. (First time and last)
Nice place. Cool activity room. POOR SERVICE CAN REALLY MESS UP AN EXPERIENCE. Chaperoned a senior class trip here on yesterday, 6/14, from 10am-1. Maybe they were understaffed and it was poor planning. We filled up half of the bowling alley (all of the fluorescent lanes). Our lane, 23, kept malfunctioning, the balls wouldn’t rewrack properly so for the next turn the girls would often be upset when all the pins wouldn’t appear. I went to this lady at the front over five times, Caucasian, lanky, with scrunched black hair, and glasses, should’ve caught her name. First 3 times I was polite fine. 4th time the cashier rolling her eyes at me telling it’s the girls fault for “rolling out of circulation”. I ended up snapping and telling her I don’t want to see any eyes rolling this wasn’t a free trip and these girls should be enjoying it, if they’re doing something wrong then it’s their literal JOB to explain and correct it. We were moved to lane 26 after five complaints and when that one malfunctioned as well I just gave up and let it sort it out itself after a few minutes which once again stole time from the girls. The mechanic was understanding and patient though.
I live in Astoria and when I found out there was a bowling alley with decent prices I was really excited. I walked in and the place looks great I thought, I'm definitely gonna come a few times a year. But man was it was disappointing from then on. I'm someone who doesn't hold service to a super high bar but the level of service was exceptionally bad. I was with my family from abroad and we were all hungry and it took over an hour to get our order in, then another 30 to get the food. The establishment had hired a single server for our entire side of the floor which was probably around 40 people. She was working super hard and was nice so it wasn't her fault and we tipped her well, but it's not acceptable to hire such few workers for so many people. Then the worst part is they refused to give me a cup of water and said I had to buy a bottle. So rude given that I spent over 300$ there that day. It's like telling the customer "we just care about our bottom line". Then our lane broke twice and took nearly 20 minutes until they let us switch over to another lane. Really ruined the experience. Highly recommend you eat and drink before coming - not worth the stress
We had fun here. For $25 per person we bowled for 2 hours. The food was pretty good and not too pricey. I recommend the shareables. The pizza was really good, a lot of cheese. The arcade games are expensive and not very worth it except for the air Hockey. We had fun and there’s a nice older woman who works there who was watching us play and laughing along with us. She was very nice to us throughout our visit. The only thing we did not like was the rude cashier. White skinny lady with curly black hair and black glasses. She had a nasty miserable attitude like she wanted to jump off a building the whole time. Who chooses to work in a place for entertainment when they’re literally miserable? They can’t find anyone with a better attitude or a little personality? She was horrible. Made us feel bad for asking for anything. They need to hire nicer people. It ruins the vibe when everyone is having fun and the employee looks like she’s going on a kill spree after her shift. Would definitely visit again though! Just hope she isn’t there.
I've been to this place a dozen times before COVID and I am so happy it is still in business . It's a small bowling alley . Plenty of street parking and they also have parking on the side of the business for bowling patrons . They sell food , and have a lounge and bar . ( this was the last day of indoor dining due to COVID restrictions in nyc. ) The staff do a really good job with enforcing social distancing . When you come in there is a thermal temperature taker at the front and the person at the desk also takes the temperature on your wrist . You have to fill out a contact paper form with your address and phone number . The lanes all have plastics and barriers between them and are separated by one lane. There is one ball allowed per person and after you leave the whole area is sanitized immediately .The staff was excellent and very attentive Thank you Astoria bowl staff I felt very safe here and would definitely come again .
SOOO this was probably the best bowling place I been too. The music was fire, the vibe was dope and colorful and the food was really delicious! Me and my friends went and had a good time and they have like a game room, upstairs downstairs. The only thing they need to work on is the service. The girls was sweet but they brung me the wrong order and one of the other girls was confused the whole time standing there and didn’t know how to start up bowling for us. There was one girl who knew everything but other than that. I give it a 10/10. Just need better workers there. Better service or at-least a manager to manage. I guess make sure they repeat the order back to you a few times before you pay or you’d be paying for double because they don’t give refunds even if they forgot your order. I highly recommend and the bowling prices is the best bowling price I ever seen. I’ll be back for sure.
0 stars! This place is horrible. The music, the drinks, the bowling, the food the service everything about this place is absolutely terrible. It screams. I just care about money and I bought this place cheap and I’m gonna get as many people as I can in here and take their money. They literally have a projection screen, playing music off some weird platform . I don’t even know what this music platform name was playing music off of but it was absolutely terrible. It made no sense. There was two year olds in this place after 11 PM like it’s nothing about this place makes sense. The bowling lanes didn’t even work right if you bowled and got a gutter, it wouldn’t move on unless you knock down a pin and it only did that on like a few of the people that went and so we were trying to figure that out the whole time.
The bowling is fun. They have nice lanes and good music. BUT I can’t remember a time I had worse food + drink service. During our two games which took over an hour, we never received our food nor did the server ever come to check on us. I went up to her twice to ask for service and she never remembered to come back. We finally reminded her about our food after we finished our games. She said there was a ‘mix-up’ with our food, but she never let us know until we asked an hour later. When our food did arrive, it was lukewarm at best. The “nachos” we got were, I promise you, a tray of crushed tortilla crumbs and a cup of barely microwaved cheese. For $60 (just on food and two drinks) this was egregious.
Me and boyfriend had to wait about 5 / 10 minutes before getting help because there was some one in front of us ordering food and was taking for ever and one of the other staff walked passed us not saying any thing or helping us. And the lady that did help us after waiting 5 or 10 minutes did not describe the prices really well she said $15 per game + 15 per person = $30 and even on the receipt it says 2 games for $30.00 and the mac and cheese bites taste like they bought them at the dollar store. I would not come here at all again they are over priced and can’t explain the prices clearly. And the food is not good at all.
Terrible service all around! We took our senior students here for their senior trip and it was complete chaos. The manager was snappy and rude to customers, the girl at the front desk was on her phone the whole time while we were waiting to be serviced, and had a nasty attitude. They were very unorganized and unaccommodating when they messed up our food order, and event package. I would never return here, nor do business with this establishment again. They all need to be trained again on professionalism, and customer service. Very unsatisfied! Don’t book a school trip here, complete waste of money.
Honestly it's a great place to go since its not close to many other buildings. Its quite isolated and wait times depend on the day you are going and time. I was lucky enough to get a lane easily, however, I heard people average a 30-1hr wait-time. I didn't try out the food, the bathrooms were dirty, paper everywhere. Staff very not up to par very egoistic. The arcade upstairs was horrendus, dirty, and the gun machine game was broken. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because the bowling was fun, and the dance arcade machine upstairs.
I really don’t write these however I feel the need to warn people…Not good and won’t be back. Service was disorganized. Weird that there is no bar so they make your drinks in the back and don’t know where it’s coming from…Arcade is half broken. When I went to ask a question at the bowling check-in I received attitude. Music was terrible and they played the same songs every 5 minutes. Lanes don’t even work right. New management asap or shut it down. Bowling should be an enjoyable experience and this was not.
I’m a committed, tried and true bowler. I bowl in various leagues at various bowling houses. Astoria bowl is a pretty cool place to bowl. The lanes are great for the serious bowler and also the casual, once in a blue moon bowler. It’s a great place for grown folks to get a drink and hang out on a Friday night, but it’s also a family oriented place, great and fun place to take the kids and hold birthday parties. They also have video arcade games, a full service bar and snack bar, lotto machine.
My family and I had A great time. We came here after our other plans fell through, and we did not regret it. Great vibe, good music, all the arcade games work, nice back area with pool and ping pong. There was a short wait for the lanes without a reservation, but we had a large group and that’s too be expected on a Saturday night. Only change I would make is to be able to order from the bar while waiting for the lanes.
Great food selection, reasonable prices, parking available, so far nothing I dislike bout this place! I will need to take more photos the next time I return! So far ive tried their waffle fries, astoria fries, shoestring fries, and mozzarella sticks. They're all delicious. Their burger looks amazing when a friend ordered it but they immediately consumed it and I was unable to steal a photo.
The place is not bad, but the service is. It was $25 per person for two hours. We started playing and no one went to us to offer food or drinks. The lane next to us got food and drink even before us and we got there first. We called the server and they went to other tables first instead of us. They need to work on the customer service because this place is fun to go.
Cool spot to get the kids out on a Saturday night. The only problem is that there is a long waiting list. Once you are bowling the service is ok. The server don’t go to lane 1 and you have to chase them down. Once you get their attention they tell you that will stop by your lane, and they never show up. The bowling games are expensive for the experience.
The vibe of the place is amazing. I come here whenever I want to go bowling. I tried the ping pong and I loved it. The private room with your friends and music playing with adjustable lighting and glow in the dark balls Only negative thing I would have to say is that it is very pricey, however it is worth it if you want a club atmosphere.
Overall, good atmosphere. Not crowded at all, pretty chill spot. However, I ordered a mango frozen drink for my wife, and honestly, it was syrupy with barely any liquor. On top of that, it was a small cup for $16. They should fire the bartender, get John Tapper from Bar Rescue in there, show you how to really make a drink.
Went on a Friday night for a family date night. Was crowded and waited about 50 minutes for a lane. Couldn't figure out how to reserve a lane online. Food took a long time also. But my family loved the funny avatars available on the scoreboards. Lots of laughs. Overall a good time. Just wouldn't go again on a Friday night.
Bowling was fun. At one point our bowling ball got stuck. We let staff know but then our score was messed up the entire game. Which took a lot of the fun of out of it. 3 stars because music was a little too loud so couldn't talk much. The bathrooms urinals felt tight and bathroom felt a little dirty. And the game issue
Nice place , great specials. But this is the second time I've been here in the morning with kids and don't have quarters on the place with 20 arcade machines. Not good business model if you ask me. Also the nachos are gross I wouldn't order it . Otherwise very good to come bowling
I enjoyed this place. Nice music. Nice environment Good staff.. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5..the bathroom was dirty..and because it was later in the evening. The grill was off . But like I said before. I would definitely come back here...I liked the environment
Christopher went above and beyond. I am so happy we had the opportunity to meet him. I am there legitimately every week and have yet to meet him. He is absolutely wonderful and so accommodating. The service is great, the lanes are oiled. I am thrilled with my experience today.
I had so much fun. The music great but thw service for food sucked. It took almost the whole hour to wait for basic food. Fries and wings. It was a little annoying especially with a bunch of kids working there playing without actually serving the drinks or being proactive.
Very nice place to do many fun things. The wings are awesome. One thing to consider is to get some sore of security in the place. Cause a certain time the area outside gets a little less safe. Overall, it's a good safe place to be and hang out with friends and love ones.
Place way overpriced. Food and service TERRIBLE. Waited almost an hour just for food. Asked for water, server never came back. With all the money they make there, they should have more employees. If you don’t mind throwing away money then this is the place for you!!
I wouldn’t give this place anything less than 5 stars. It’s my new go-to date night place with great music. Bunch of arcade games, always a great time. Food is definitely lacking this is definitely not a place I would eat at but otherwise everything is great!
A nice place to spend an afternoon of bowling ! Food and drinks were not exceptional , but nothing wrong with them either. Music videos on the big screens above bowling lanes , and bowling lanes are great , so it all turns out to be fun! Parking is abundant.
This place is still under renovation, even though they are open for business. The drinks were okay but lacked alcohol, the food was very tasty and the music selection could have been a lot better. Overall, I would give this place a 7 out of 10.
First they make anyone who is not in a league bowl in the fluorescent lights. When you go up to the front desk, the people ignore you at first until you wait there long enough. The service is horrific and they don’t let you go to the bar to
Not a bad spot on weekdays and a great deal before 1pm. Dino in the pro shop is awesome, but the right half of the lanes are NEVER OILED and they will often overbook birthday parties, leaving NO ROOM for open bowling. You can literally show
Decent Prices. Incompetent staff. We paid for 2 hours for 7 people. We wanted to order 2 full big platters and 7 cocktails but the waitresses were no where to be found. We did go to the desk to try to get someone over and were told someone
First off they crammed us with another big group and refused to switch us to an open lane, even though there were plenty available. Secondly we were at the lane for two hours and not one waiter came to take our order. We approached the bar
Prior to me coming to this place I called, to see if they had lanes I was told to come it that it wasn’t busy. I arrived 40 mins later and it was packed. When I first walked in I was pushed by a chick with a braid, she appeared to have an
At first i thought this place was good first time here, we came here to bowl and the lanes kept breaking down the 1st time it was down for 20 minutes and the staff did nothing to try and fix it until i complained to a different person for
My friend and I came here on Saturday March 25th. We had to wait 15-20 mins for some sweet potato fries and Mac&Cheese bites but it was a busy night. We waited about 20 mins for a lane. The manager really need to have a training for their
Came to this establishment yesterday with family & friends & we had such an amazing time ! We got the $25 deal that they offer & it was absolutely worth it. The young lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing an attentive, from taking
I took my summer camp her to bowl and this place was beyond what I expected. Place was nice and clean and the kids enjoyed the platters we got. Lori and Christian first off was beyond nice to my kids and staff and extremely helpful. They
Customer service horrible. We get there had to sign a waitlist Okay cool they called our name we head down stairs the guy told us he gave our spot away we had to get there within 30sec. I’m confused cause where in the policy does it say
Would love to give a better review. Quite honestly because of how close and convenient it is I gave it a 2 But…… the ozone location is out of control. Dirty, unsafe, the workers are clueless, 1st floor lanes are not taken care of. Ozone
Great music, staff helpful, lots to do with arcade games, food, drinks, a bar, and bowling. Parking available in the lot or street is easy. Has security to check you coming in. Fun place to be at with friends or family
Called and asked home much bowling is at astoria location (twice) was told its 2 hours unlimited bowling for $25 per person. Got there and it was $95 for 3 people for one game! Was told "we don't do that here." Madness
It's a great place. They have a lot of lanes and it has a bar and like a locker space upstairs. Staff is very helpful and nice. Small area to eat. Overall a great place to bring your kids and have a good time.
The place is nice I was surprised by the menu and how good the food was. Our birthday party 10 hungry kids. Pizza was delicious. And my favorite is the mix plate with muzarella stick and chicken wings.
Bowl 360 is really fun spot! Lots of lanes. Sports or music vids on large screens. The staff is friendly. I really enjoyed this place, and would recommend it for a fun evening out bowling with friends!
We went on Saturday night and the wait wasn't too long luckily. Customer service was a bit slow, but understandable due to COVID-19. Loved their $3 special for draft beer and we got to play for 1 hr.
Places is a rip off . Customer service is rude and act like you don’t know what you request . Refunds are not allowed even when staff keeps you waiting for a simple drink for over 60 minutes.
Brought a date last night and we had the best time. Cheap two hour bowling and they gave us complimentary access to Ping Pong in a private room, connect 4 and giant jenga. Highly recommend!
Large and spacious yet very clean facility. Saw the custodian actively cleaning the area throughout the 3 hours our group was there. Organized staff. Arcade games were fun! Will be back!
Modern bowling lanes with great electronic scoring. Shoes and balls are good. Food and drinks available, including beer. Pool and other games available. Good music. Easy parking.
Was ok. Stuff hit and miss. Music way to loud. Did a reading with sound Meyer abd it was over 90db. Which was not suitable for babys and young kids. So had to take kids out.
Loads of fun! They have great sales. Bathrooms were very clean. Not much space between bowling crowds, and place can get very crowded. Screens all over! Music was popping.
The children had a great time. We bowled, ate and the food was brought to us. Then the children went upstairs and played video games. They fell asleep on our drive back.
Cool bowling place. The only problem is the music is too loud and it just got louder and louder from each song. Drinks had barely any alcohol in it but they tasted good.
Every thing is perfect bowling but if it's full then you wait 1-2 hours and while you wait you can play ping pong I love it everyone is nice there! ❤ …
The service was terrible the waiter took long and the food took long the girl at the register was a complete lost cause I wouldn't ever come back again
Helpful, sweet staff! Environment almost feels like a club ( in a good way ). Fun time out … just need to work on my form. Be back soon, thank you!
Whenever I have bad day boring day I put on my sneakers, shorts and t-shirt and enjoy bowling for hours. Arcade was like just amazing here.
Great place to take the kids. The food and drinks aren't cheap, but not horrible. Check groupon before going for deals. It can be pricey.
Avoid this place. Rude staff. Say they have a special going on then when you get there they tell you it’s over. Extremely unprofessional.
Noisy, and overpriced. They charge you 38 dollars PER PERSON for a single game. What a rip off. Stay away. Spend your money elsewhere.
Not bad for a first timer did go during what seems like construction.still nice didn't like the pizza. But will go back to play again.
We had the time of our lives for was great, drinks was great thanks to Robert He made this an experience we will definitely be back
Very fun and lots of cool games, wish the payment was decided on games not time. Other than that everything was great.
The place was clean and it was a fun atmosphere but it took like 30 minutes for an order of sliders and fries come on
Good vibes. Servers were nice and took care of me and my family. Food was fresh and drinks were crisp.
Great bowling place. They always have old-school music in the background. Highly recommend …
This place is horrible & bad service & drinks were bad & food had a roach & bugs all over
Great place to bowl. Make sure you eat before you come. Food is horrible and overpriced
Great 10 per person before 1 on weekends including shoes for 2 hours
Pleasant atmosphere for family to enjoy a great time together.
