Excellent easy going nature walk! The walk starts off a little boring and mostly boring hills but once you’re in the actual park it’s a very nice nature walk. You can go to the pond first if you’d like but you can skip the pond and go straight to the river for more nature action. Staying on the paved path will lead you to the river. Explore mini trail walks in and around the park, it’s fairly easy to get back on track so don’t worry too much about getting lost. We went here on May 2020 and the fences weren’t locked as well so you can explore more if you wanted to. Sunset walks are the best here! You’ll see some wild life for sure like ducks, geese, birds and beavers! Definitely recommend going here and exploring for a couple of hours.

Lots of trails and access points. Some describe this as a easy hike. Nope. Steep hills. Lots of stairs. Maybe if you walk the paved pathway up top its an easy stroll. Very pretty. Lots of vantage points. Little streams, waterfall if you go into the valley area. Takes you to the bow. There are a Few benches for a little picnic. Lots and lots of cyclists on the small hilly dirt trails. They often are going fast to get up the next hill. If you are on that hill/ trail that has lots of little turns you can get hit. Was a bit sketchy for our 4 yr old not to get hurt by a cyclist. Will go again.

Beautiful green area with many different trails both paved and unpaved. You can take a casual stroll to the river or a more intense hike up the hills for a birds eye view of the city. Very spacious so even on busy days you can find some space to yourself. Very clean and well kept. Can walk for 20 minutes or 2 or more hours. Connects to other trails throughout the city. Benches and rest areas in some parts. Saw some ducks and a snake. Can’t wait to go back.

What a beautiful place to take your family down for a walk and the path is very well maintained. The kids loved all of the different insects and flowers that you see along a path and there a little tiny creeks and waterfalls. The sounds around you are birds chirping and running water and you can't get better than that. At the end of the path there is an overlooking small deck looking over the Bow River which is beautiful as well. Enjoy!!!!

Looking for hilly walk with stunning views? Check out Bowmont Natural Environment Park. This dog-friendly park can give you a gentle to moderate workout should you stay on the paved pathways and plenty of benches to enjoy the view. Feeling a little more adventurous? Walk along one of the natural paths but be prepared for switchbacks and rocky terrain, plus keep a lookout for mountain bikers. Will be back again soon.

Such a beautiful place. A great place to go for evening walks or just to bike on the beautiful trails and take in the view. Definitely one of mine and my boyfriends favourite spots ever! We come here often by the silver springs area we start are walk! I would highly recommend visiting this spot of Calgary it’s so refreshing. 10/10 in love with this park.

Beautiful park for families where you can walk or push strollers or wheelchairs through easily. The path is shared with bikes so just be careful. There is a one way street to the parking lot which leads to the park. Benches are available along the path by the river. We saw so much wildlife and flora. This is also home to the osprey nest.

Beautiful in every season, fun for dog walking, trail running, mountain biking, or just to stop and take in the views of the river and mountains. Big enough that it never feels crowded - even during busy times you can get away by yourself. We are blessed to have such a wonderful nature retreat right within the city.

A well maintained dog park in a great inner-city park that is perfect for hiking. The park itself is by the river and has waterfalls, Bridges and numerous trails the dog park is fully fenced and extremely popular. It's a great location for many people and thus far everyone is friendly and so are the doggos.

This is a nice and easy trails that leads into many other parks such as Dale Hodges and Bowness park. We stayed on the east side close to market mall. I love the views of the river and surrounding houses. Highly recommend if you want a simple hike in the city.

  • Spencer Goldade

Gorgeous park! You can wander in here for hours. Which is easy because there's no good wayfinding to help. Watch out for cyclists where the trails are narrower. We saw people get clipped today, and were almost clipped ourselves. No one rings their bells.

Great place to hike or bike for all levels of experience. Choose the path of your own level of ability and enjoy the magnificent views of the Bow River Valley facing West. Particularly amazing during the Fall when the leaves are changing colors.

  • Olga Courtnage

A little piece of paradise in the city. What an enjoyable walk!!! Will be making it longer next time. Hills, trails, steps. I have biked it once before with a group and biked through with grumpy children but was first time in the winter and

My favorite park! So much wildlife! We encountered beavers, ducks, geese, deer, frogs, chickadees, woodpeckers, magpies, and even an eagle! The construction on the park is making it even more beautiful by adding water features and paths,

  • Brian Lee

Beautiful park with trails for everyone. Some of the single track by rivers edge is starting to get a little dangerous as it is eroding but there is so much to choose from. Beautiful views of the city and mountains.

  • Lloyd Summers

I love this park. On the surface it is a short walk (10 mins) but more space if you go off the path
Dog-friendliness
Many playful dogs. But not enclosed so risky to go offleash (even though it's allowed)

This place is one of the outstanding places for walkers, joggers, and runners. Walk at least for 20 min, and you will be on the riverside of Bow River. This place might be a good choice for a one day picnic.

  • Alhan Yaz

Beautiful place! You have the view of the river, there are benches, pathways, and a good amount of parking space. Great spot for dog walking. Definitely a place to visit to take in the beauty of the city.

  • Sal Walker

Beautiful place to walk the trail, follow the creek for an amazing experience! There's a dog park connecting as well and my pup loves to go play then end her day with a nice walk! 10/10 recommended …

Wow what a find!! Hills, ponds, more hills, beautiful pathways and river views. Oh and did I say hills?? Prepare for an epic leg workout when you go for a walk in this park! Bring bug repellent.

  • xo

Beautiful place to walk and explore the nature!! Great place to walk your dog (off-leash park) but make sure you bring water and keep your fur baby on leash if need! :P Very peaceful and calm❤️

  • Stretch Fitness

Just another breathtaking dog park and natural environment Calgary has to offer. Just be warned that dogs should be excellent swimmers to get in the water deep. Lot's of rapids in the summer!

  • Cheryl ann Fong

I forgot dog leash so I wasn't really able to walk Bailee longer than I want to. We walked thru the bike path to see the river. It looks so wooded area. Its really nice and peaceful.

  • Athyris

Off leash park with a great view. Great place to walk, run, bike, skateboard, etc. There are two little playgrounds located here as well. PS there are two gyms here for Pokemon Go!

  • D Surgeson

Drove through on the bike path. Path is in great shape. The park is quiet and well sheltered. Seems to be a place where people like to walk alone or with their dog.

  • Charles Lackie

Great pathways. Not busy. Views of river very good. You can get direct access into river or view from an elevated spot. Nice boardwalk through marsh area too.

  • Cara Loschuk

We have some amazing inner city parks, this is one of them. Little hidden waterfalls, tons of different trails, right by the river....so great.

  • junhong cai

Pathway connects to the Bowness park. The iconic structure is the railway bridge. Agree with people say it is a park for dogs.

  • Trevor Street

Love it here , great views , trails are in decent shape and can litterally walk for hours as all the trails seem to connect !

  • Jennifer Foley

Amazing place for a walk with your dog right in the city. Lots of off leash options and everyone is friendly and easygoing.

  • J Sawa

Beautiful natural surroundings. The changing fall leaves are amazing this time of year. Great bike trails.

  • Mark Kolesar

Great off leash area. Large and fenced. The grounds are quite sandy, which is good if it's been raining.

  • Matthias E.

Nice place to stop for a quick or long splash in the river. Big pebblie beach, with plenty of space.

  • Crystal Mackenzie
