"My daughters are both at Brampton (reception and year 4 currently) and I think it is a wonderful school"
My children are currently in Year 3 and reception. This is a fantastic school, amazingly supportive staff and brilliant leadership. The introduction read write inc reading scheme has had a big impact in the last few years. My children enjoy the school dinners, love their teachers and support staff and are supported well to make progress in their learning. Something important to me is how the reception children transition. This is not a long and drawn out process and they are gradually moved to full time hours over the week and it works well. The school drop of and collection in the current ‘Covid’ times is great and we all feel safe, it’s well organised. Our PTA are wonderful parents who have provided so many opportunities for our children through fundraising that we have all enjoyed. My children love breakfast and after sch club which is great because it is on site and run by the school- snacks and childcare. They have lots of fun. Finally the school has a parent council where parents from all classes get to feed back and issues and concerns then a representative from each class meets with the head teacher to work through them and decide how to move the school on together. The parents were also delighted when Miss Winter Nolan and Miss Wellington we’re recently appointed as headteacher and deputy having already been working at the school.
My daughter is in Year 3 and the school is great. Read write inc phonics scheme which they follow is great compare to the old Jolly phonics . By end of Year 1 my daughter was in free reading level already with the help of that scheme . During the covid times home learning materials was wonderful and well supported . We didn't feel like we were left out of the education . School has also managed very well with regards to the re opening with staggered drop and pick up time to ensure the social distancing. Most able children's are challenged well by mixing them with higher year groups while learning phonics . School has its own after school and breakfast club which is very reliable . The teachers are great and pupils are well taught. Always open to comments and suggestions from parents. I would definitely recommend brampton to other parents.
We cannot praise Brampton enough. All of the staff are incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated to their jobs, the school has a real community feel, and the parents association is fantastic. The school overcame the challenges of lockdown and home educating incredibly quickly, delivering effective learning remotely far sooner than other schools we know of. Brampton has invested in an impressive phonics program, Read Write Inc, and the use of ClassDojo and Microsoft Teams makes communication with the school incredibly easy. We truly believe that our daughter (yr 2) has had the best start to her academic life at BPA and are thrilled that our son has now started reception there too.
As an ex-pupil, I have to say I can't recommend the school. I felt I was constantly put down and misunderstood (for instance, when I was seven I was so bored of Biff & Chip books that I refused to read them, leading them to believe I couldn't read and putting me in 'special booster classes') as well as not finding myself able to express myself and work in ways I felt comfortable with. A young relative who currently goes to the school is also being called inadequate, which is obviously no help to him considering that, at only seven years old, he has already developed self-confidence problems. Of course, a few good experiences did come from it, but overall I can't recommend.
My daughters are both at Brampton (reception and year 4 currently) and I think it is a wonderful school. There were some issues back in 2016 when my eldest started but all of these have been remedied by the new fantastic management team and great staff. Great facilities, high standard of teaching (helping students in any areas they struggle but also pushing the really bright kids to achieve more), lovely teachers and an outstanding PTA who provide a lovely array of out of school activities for the kids. Would absolutely recommend!
My children are currently in yr 4 and yr 6. They are incredibly happy and Brampton has been such a positive environment for them to be in. All of the teachers and teaching staff in the school genuinely care about their students and work immensely hard to give them the best education. The leadership team are amazing , the children love them and so do the parents. They make the school welcoming, efficient and motivated. This school is a real community, everyone seems happy and friendly.
We like Brampton school ... Teachers are incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated to their jobs.During the challenges of lockdown , home educating was incredibly quickly, delivering effective learning remotely far sooner than expected. The use of ClassDojo and Microsoft Teams was brilliant . Thanks to all the hardwork and dedication.
I have children in year 3 and 5. I would highly recommend Brampton. The teachers are caring and take pride in teaching the kids. During lockdown everyone pulled together very quickly to ensure continued learning for the children and were extremely supportive and accessible. Breakfast club staff are also fantastic.
Unfortunately, due to the mass exit of teachers in 2015, and still having trouble keeping teachers there, I wouldn't recommend this school, maybe in 2/3 years time when they have sorted it out...properly, but I am glad my child is leaving..
Fabulous school! My daughters have both got on so well at Brampton would highly recommend. Staff are lovely, a real community feel which is wonderful to be part of.
My daughter is flourishing at Brampton. The staff are very attentive and passionate about their pupils and always have a smile on their faces. Amazing school.
My son loves the school. Staff are excellent and everyone is extremely helpful. We couldn't have chosen a better school for my son to settle into.
Most teachers there are lovely but a few are unwelcoming, would still recommend this school and will visit again
Amazing school. There are lovely teachers and would certainly recommend your children to go there!
Was a lovely little school. Seems to be going downhill, in my opinion...
Great school
