There is a so-called arts festival here - Chalet Wote. But I saw no art other than some graffiti on a wall. Two minutes into my visit, the camera was wrestled from me by four thugs and a security man who claimed to have organised the event. They demanded GH$250 for the return of the camera and said a license was needed. Note, no mention of any licenses needed for tourists to take photos. Their boss accused me of being an MI6 spy. It took an hour arguing with four different groups all saying they were in charge. Finally, I got my camera back with an apology. They said it had been a misunderstanding. I would recommend steering clear of this place completely. It is organised by people who cannot control the local thugs. Stay away. It is not art.

Entrance fee is 10 ghc. Beautiful art. The woman that was there was very helpful sharing the history of her people (she's afro Brazilian). There's also a book that you read there which is an archive of the history of the Tambo people. You can also questions and they'll be answered at length. Beautiful murals on the wall and a view of Atlantic & Jamestown area from the top

Amazing and lovely experience with stories told by descendants of the returnee Ghanaians from Brazil. No visit inside the house, but the outside has some great graffiti and amazing view onto the old harbour.

Visited the house two weeks ago... its currently under renovation. If you are interested in Graffiti paintings you will find several in the house telling its history. The seaward view of the house is calm, peace and fairly in its original state. Good check if you are in Accra

This is a very important historic sight. After the trans-atlantic slave trade ended, in c1840 the slave returnees from Brazil were given this portion of land by the indigineuos people. The returnees nicknamed the tabon people identified with the Ga people and became Ga's.

A gallery within Jamestown that can only be juxtaposed to art submerged in culture. The Brazil house is also where the Accra dot ALT team meet to plan the Chale Wote Street Arts Festival as well the Sabolai Radio Alternate Music Festival

If you are a lover of art and Ghanaian culture u should make it a point to visit Brazil house, the place is open through out the year, and do well to visit on non festival days to really soak in the art

  • Charles Semelka

Not worth the trip. The house is in total disrepair, and the only testament to its history is a torn up magazine that talks about the return of African slaves from Brazil.

  • Yoyin Bank-Olemoh

An Art house with very interesting pieces in Jamestown and head office for Accra dot ALT (The organisers of the yearly Chale Wote Festival, Jamestown).

  • Isaac Mills

Brazil House is monumental and unique in tis establishment and history. A very beautiful place to visit and learn the facts of returnee ancestors.

  • kelvin fosu

Love the paintings on the wall, and the historic pictorial exhibits of the Tabom people from Brazil who settle here after slave abolishing

  • Epifania Amoo-Adare

Was closed when we got there, but managed to get a little information from an in-house female guide and an amazing view out to the ocean.

  • Olalekan Experience

Almost nothing here the house is basically empty and the stories aren't quite accurate. No need visiting here just pass by.
