I hate to leave a poor review for a mostly excellent bakery, but in this case it is warranted. I have been here several times, and always enjoyed the fresh bread, cinnamon twists etc. The location is nice, staff have been friendly and the food great. However- they are doing themselves a disservice by selling gluten free baked goods that are no where near the level of their regular bread. My wife was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, and we thought we would buy some baked goods on Saturday morning. She got what was supposed to be a danish, which was a hard dry cracker like square with some Nanaimo bar filling on top (filling was good). It was gross enough that it totally ruined what was supposed to be a fun little outing. If you need gluten free goods- take your order elsewhere.
My new favorite bakery! Saw Bread + Butter Bakery on Instagram and had to check them out. The service was great, the person working was super friendly and very helpful. They were sold out of sourdough bread (what I went for) when we got there but still ended up leaving with pretty much 1 of everything. Everything we’ve tried so far has been amazing. The atmosphere is very cool, I love how they are setup, it’s such a cute little bake shop. They do have some gluten free options for people with allergies which is nice. Also make sure you follow their Instagram, they post everyday what’s available on their bread wall with photos of everything. Extremely helpful if you’re like me and are traveling a bit to get them.
Nothing special about the items I purchased from this bakery. I've definitely had better. The neighborhood was interesting, residents were out on the street yelling at people about where they were parking. No signs indicating no parking allowed but a couple of locals walking up and down shouting at anyone who even touched their breaks. If the city is removing snow, there should be signs and it is the city bylaws job to clear vehicles. I'm not sure why you wouldn't have any parking reserved for customers.
A cute little bakery nestled in Riverdale. We made a special trip to try their goods and overall were pleased. I really liked the sourdough bread. Their brioche loaf is perfect for making French toast. I also tried their Saskatoon berry pistachio bun and it was tasty. My reason for the 4/5 would be for pricing and selection. There simply are other great bakeries in Edmonton with better pricing and selection. Nonetheless this bakery is a great addition to the neighbourhood!
Fresh and hot, right from the oven, this bakery has some delicious baked goods. The brioche is eggy, fluffy, and as delicious as you'd hope without being overly sweet. The bread was still hot and crackly right out of the oven. They also have a small selection of roast coffees, bottled cold brew, and other coffee related items. A great addition to Riverdale. There's ample parking in the neighborhood.
Wowza!! This place is often lined up... and for very good reason! Small but mighty, this bakery has an impressive selection of breads and treats! Get here early, or you will likely miss out. In the same building as the Dogpatch restaurant, they prepare the breads for both... right from scratch - ingredient by ingredient! The rotation of treats keeps me coming back.
Beautiful bakery tucked away in beautiful Riverdale. Staff were friendly. I was slightly disappointed with the peach and blueberry brioche danish. I was expecting more of a flaky, buttery dessert. The brioche base had the texture of dry bread. I would definitely come back and try other pastries!
My partner won a 2 night stay at River Valley suites, and the first morning we were surprised with baked goods waiting outside our room. The bakery is in such a nice spot, and out of the 6 baked goods we tried, we are definitely coming back! Everything at bread + butter looks amazing!
Love that they shop local first. I placed an order a day before I needed it and they deliver! Very responsive, and you can even reply to their confirmation email! Great customer service as it appears to be lacking with other service providers I've experienced lately. So thank you!
Lovely little bakery with fresh breads, scones and cookies. We had their bread as part of the French toast we order at the Dogpatch (bistro in same building) and ended up taking one of them and a sourdough home. Nice crispy crusts with fluffy delicious insides. Will be returning.
Loooove this little bakery delicious fresh baked goods and love their holiday preorders! Coffee is yummy too also love the little tables outside when it’s not freezing outside ;) 100% recommend this place!

Hip place in a new building. Selection was small but had a bit of everything. I have to agree with another reviewer, I purchased only dinner buns and a savoury item for close to $18. The items are beautiful and delicious but not sure they're worth the price paid.
Neighbourhood gem, the butters and aioli dip were delicious. Sourdough was good, but was very disappointed in the loaf of Brioche I took home, very dry, and was hard 2 days later, so had to throw it out. Definitely expensive. Will go back for sourdough and dips
Everything looks great. Service was interesting. I bought over 5 items that the server just left on the counter for me. I had to request for a bag and pack it myself while he helped the next customer.
Garlic butter is so yummy. It looks like they're getting swamped by new guests, so you might need to wait a bit. The cheese bun and bread have both been worth the wait though. We'll be back!
Was really looking forward to this, but found the quality of the bread and cakes a little disappointing Nothing wrong with, just not on a par with the competition such as Breadland or Brio
Stopped for bread after lunch at Dogpatch! We took a loaf of brioche home and it was delicious! It also made for great French toast on day two! Can’t wait to come back for the danishes!
So pricey upscale boujee place. Took my kids there. Three desserts and three drinks, had I not looked at the receipt she had almost ripped me off even more. All in all 45.00, too much.
Fantastic out of this world bakery. Actual quality bread and not just desserts. Fair warning - they don’t have an espresso machine - I could see this disappointing folks!
Beautiful little Bakery serving the community of Riverdale. What a nice little walk through the neighborhood to grab some early morning baked goods or bread for the day.
Amazing coffee and baked goods. I visit a few times a week as I live in the area and have never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
It's one of my favorite bakeries in town. Their goods almost never disappoint, they have specialties rotating daily and unique items during holidays.
Walking into the bakery and smelling and tasting the delicious fresh baked goods takes me back to my Grandmothers kitchen. Absolutely delicious!!!
The tea is delicious! And the pastry items are even better. Amazingly quick, kind, and friendly service provided by Annika. Will be back !
I was so excited to finally visit this little bakery. Our cinnamon twist and cheese bun were a-ma-zing! Will most definitely be back.
the multigrain loaf was delicious - loved the pumpkin seeds. however, the focaccia was underbaked and sort of tasted like raw dough.
This bakery is top notch! Fabulous breads and the best treats made fresh daily! Make sure you take the time to check it out! 10/10
Cutest little bakery in Riverdale attached to the Dog Patch restaurant. We had the poppyseed pastries. Very delicious …
I love to come here when I'm working from home for a little sweet treat in the mornings. 10/10 would recommend.
Fresh, light and tasty but don't call then cinnamon twists, call them twists with a light hint of cinnamon.
Baguettes available all day on the weekend, most other local bakeries are sold out before noon
Picked up a tray of butter buns for Thanksgiving, they were great!! So fresh and tasty.
Fresh. Tasty. Check out the basement washrooms and come out smelling like fresh bread.
One loaf of traditional bread $7.50 and 6 small cinnamon rolls . $$12.00. No thanks
First time, and they have a great selection and Great Bread and treats ! Thanks you

Fantastic fresh baked goods and excellent staffing in such a beautiful location
Nice selection of breads and pastries! The cinnamon twist was huge and so good
Found this place after La Boule closed. Solid bread. excellent pastries too.
This bakery has a small selection but the items they do carry are amazing.
A beautiful location in Riverdale. The service and food- also beautiful
The ham and cheese roll I got was half-raw and doughy. So disappointing
Great bread and pastries. On the expensive side, but very good.
What a great find! Fabulous baking on a beautiful summer day!
Great Coffee & Conveniently located in Riverdale. …
