It was alright. Maybe as this is the first few weeks of opening, perhaps some staff were nervous or not totally familiar. Unlike other Brewdog bars you were not allowed to just walk in, despite alot of the reservations being for the evening with 'feel free to sit here until then' tags just like at other venues and the place having a second floor which despite being open wasn't advised to us by staff. We were then actually chaperoned to a table (not trusted to do that on our own I guess) despite this table only being right next to the main door and right by the desk this staff member was standing at when we arrived! There was no obvious sign telling people to wait to be seated either. There was a staff member with a big beard who made us feel a bit uncomfortable as he couldn't seem to leave us alone and always seemed to be hovering. As we were thinking of leaving for our train (only came in for approx 2 or 3 halves) and before we'd even finished our last drink he came over and bluntly said 'will THAT be ALL or can I get anything else' which was weird as he already knew I was using the app or going up to the bar. To clarify we'd sat on a table (after being chaperoned) that was reserved for 19:00 and we visited approx 12:30/13:00 and only had 3 halves each and some chips. The chips were nice as always, and the beer that was on was good quality. There are no issues with the other staff. Except for a bit of an issue with one of the tills accepting EFP cards/ barcodes, however, this was quickly fixed. Best of the staff was a young brunette girl who was on the bar and also serving food and drinks via the app she was really good and very professional and knew the bar layout well when I was looking for the toilet, she came over without being asked and told me where they were, this was appreciated. Service was also quick. Only one guest beer on which, even for a smaller Brewdog location, is odd. I'm not sure I'd return as despite us turning up at lunchtime, sober, and only staying for a very short while before catching the District line elsewhere, we didn't feel welcome. Also unrelated to the review but having heard the recent news, surely Ipswich would of been a better place for a craft beer bar like Brewdog, not Upminster as most patrons weren't even drinking the brewdog beer but had wine and cocktails
Given this is a new addition to Upminster, i really want to be positive about this venue as we need more options for a night out. Unfortunately, it does not live up to expectations. The drinks selection is good if a little pricey - central London prices. This evening, our experience was farcical. We arrived on time for our table, were asked to wait by the bar for it to be cleared; we were only shown to the table after chasing up some 20 mins later. Who knows how long it would have taken to be seated if we had not chased. The experience did not improve when we were seated at our table. Our sharing starter of wings turned up as a single person's starter person. This was resolved, but again another 15 mins passed... When the mains came, one of the 3 burgers was charred black. The staff were quick to act, but the replacement burger supplied was different to our order and was missing the fries...The third attempt was the correct burger, but this arrived some 30+ mins after the other mains. The staff were apologetic, but the sequence of mistakes is not acceptable. I really hope this can be turned around, as many aspects of the bar are good. New venues are a positive addition, but service standards need to be better to ensure these venues are here for the long term. Will give Brewdog another chance, fingers crossed for a decent experience.
Charged me for a side dish they incorrectly served to someone else and refused to take it off the bill. When I suggested I'd leave my details and leave the security staff blocked my exit and stopped me leave. The duty manager even admitted it was her mistake. Paid up in the end and left, without giving a tip which would have more than covered the £4.5 they were after. The response provided by the unnamed owner of the Brewdog Upminster is both inaccurate, untrue and completely biased by their opinion of the matter or what they have been told 2nd or 3rd hand. I asked for the coleslaw to be removed from the bill which was refused. I offered to leave my details for you to follow this up in person, but your staff refused to provide me with a pen. The issue was certainly not of any of the diners making and the way it was responded to, bearing in mind it wasn't our fault, was unacceptable and spoilt my evening. If you serve food on a plate to a customer, I don't believe it's unreasonable for them to assume everything on that plate is for them. No one was rude nor yelling. Given accusations and lack of responsibility in the response Ill purse the issue via the company's complaint procedure.

Nice venue slow service. Couldn’t get in on the official opening night as too busy so went on the Saturday. First round we ordered at the table never arrived but still went on our bill. Bar staff must all be new to as very slow serving customers. All lagers not available and beers were not that great. We sampled a few but still couldn’t find any decent tasting ales etc. TVs not showing any sport, just advertising Brewdog canned beers. Venue will do well due to location and roof top bar but first experience was not good. Needs to improve if they want football World Cup fans in there. Update 18/11 - reduced to one star as they sat on my booking request for a week and then declined it one day ahead. I even went in there a few days earlier and spoke to 3 members of staff and no one knew how to access their booking system. Don’t understand how people are giving it 5 stars. Customer service sucks. Update 14/6 - Thanks for your eventual reply, only taken 6 months. Not likely to come back as far better venues than Brewdog in Upminster. Completely over-rated in my opinion.

Been many times before however a first for Wing Wednesday. You do have to book in advance for this so note that. Whilst it was fairly busy there, there appeared to be plenty of staff yet service was too slow & food took an age (considering 80% of bar ordering same thing!) refills on wings took equally as long so don’t be looking to break any challenges! Wings were huge and sauce selections were nice, although the butter coating/batter was very thick and often more batter than chicken :( Staff always friendly and happy to assist however & always good selection of drinks to test & try!

Hello, My visit to yourselves was excellent. The service has improved massively from last time I visited. I would say the service is much better than the Outpost Tower Hill. Your staff were friendly and efficient always asking if we were ok for drinks. The drinks selection was superb although you did not have any Hazy Jane which was a shame. The food was tasty and delivered to us very quickly. I was annoyed at myself for not picking up a can when i left though so maybe your staff could ask if there are any cans that you wanted from the fridge or something like that. That is a very small critique as i had fabulous birthday drink and i cannot wait to return. Thanks very much and keep up the good work. Mark x

Upminster needed a Brewdog and somewhere modern to bring it kicking and screaming into the 21st Century, lets hope other investors do the same, its needed - maybe a hotel! The venue is spaced out over 3 floors with the third being a roof top terrace that is going to super busy in the summer. Since opening it's been booked up with guests and the best part about it is that you can take in Dogs for a doggy beer. The food is tasty, the beers are awesome and the staff are doing great. Big shout out of support to the entire team for making it work from the start, in particular, Oli for working there from day one and learning how to deal with the few 'Upmonsters', my words not his, in a very polite and professional way - keep it up!
Bar staff are extremely slow. Popped in for a quick drink before planning to go elsewhere. Ordered table service, waited 35 minutes for two drinks which didn’t arrive, then another 15 waiting to get served downstairs at the bar to question why they hadn’t arrive to only find that the beer and wine we’d ordered had sold out. Can only think that there was a lack of organisation that meant my order was put to the side due to it not being in stock, with no notification of this being the case. Then also had to wait for the refund. What was meant to be a quick drink was an hour wait for no drink. I’m not one to post reviews but this was a complete waste of my time.
I spent a whole day here a few Saturdays ago. We managed to get a table on the rooftop for a while, then went down to the middle floor to grab a table and ate some food. I was pleasantly surprised by the food menu, there were so many vegan friendly options! The selection of drinks are fantastic, not just for beer drinkers but a great and unique selection of spirits also. In general it seemed like a friendly atmosphere, I like that each floor offers something a little different. Definitely recommend! I’d recommend booking a table in advance at the weekends if you want to have dinner, although we still managed to get a table without booking one.
First time I'd been to a Brewdog pub and the first thing that struck me was the enormous selection of beers and lagers. I'm not a great fan of Brewdog beers so went for the Black Heart stout. Really good, stayed on it all night. Also had a burger, very good, too. Quiet at 6, heaving by 8 so clearly popular. Lots of seating but best to book if you want to guarantee a seating area. Friendly staff, food service was a little slow but we ordered when it was busy. Had a great evening with friends, I'd go back.

Fantastic place run by an exceptional G.M. Food service is exceptional, upstairs bar needs a little more ice and maybe a fan. But the team are fantastic. I won’t be around for a year or so but when I get back to U.K. I will stop here for a drink. Really nice people. You can tell that these people love what they do.

Venue was nice, beers were nice wing Wednesday wasn't. If they say something's too good to be true it probably is. The wings were absolutely doused in salt an vinegar, it would be absolutely impossible to eat more than one serving. At the time I felt like the skin had been stripped from the side of my tongue. I woke up in the night feeling like I'd cracked open a car battery for dinner the night before and drunk all the battery acid. I was half expecting to find my guts all over the bed and a stomach shaped hole acid burned into the mattress.
very good service as the bartenders explained each drink we tried and recommended good options when we asked them. some offered more than others but that’s complete fine, they didn’t rush our choices and offered good advice. the drink themselves are good as there is something for everyone in the large selection and then rums and vodkas if beers and stouts aren’t your thing. the decor is pretty and the vibes are good so you’re bound to have a great time

Such a friendly bar. Staff always attentive and have a kind word. It's a new bar so there are a few teething issues at the moment but nothing that will spoil your evening. Food is very tasty and arrives quickly. Can get very busy at peak times. During the day children and pets are welcome. (Even have a kids food menu) Roof top terrace is beautifully constructed and will be fantastic in summer. The selection of beer, cider and spirits is second to none. Looking forward to frequenting this bar as often as possible.
Generally love Brewdog, but the Upminster bar is lacking. The beer is numbered but all the numbers on the taps are wrong, the staff can't find the beer, it takes ages. The staff are all too young and nervous and hardly speak. It's not professional enough. The food order is taken with a pencil and paper! Not an iPad. The food was marvelous and the beer fabulous. Just need some older more experienced staff to lead the others and a more professional ordering system and get the beer numbers, matching the taps
It's about time Upminster had another pub. The selection of beer is great, and the quality of the beer is excellent, however... Although there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor, there is no lift up to the roof garden. As I use a crutch, it's impossible for me to go up to the roof garden, which I have been told is really good. Therefore over all, a score of just 2 for not thinking about disabled people who, I am sure, would love to go up to the roof garden.

Went in last Saturday and the service was astonishingly bad. I was served by a short boy, I believe his name was max, and everything was taking so long at the bar, he got the order wrong every time I got served by him. I came to a man with a beard wearing a hat with my complaint and he managed to fix it instantly and was very helpful. He was very apologetic, fast and helpful. And another blonde short haired man was very good to. It is just a shame that certain staff let this place down
Came in Friday 9th December for a work Xmas do and everything was perfect. We had a booking for 7:45 however rang to explain we would be 15 mins late, they were more than understanding and had our table ready for when we arrived. Aiden greeted us at the door and was so professional. Barman called George took our drinks straight away and seemed very knowledgeable about the different beers they had. All of my party had a great time. We will definitely be back.
Staff are great, but the whole experience was a let down due to the GM Asked staff if we could rotate a sofa to watch the England game A flat no from the GM would have been acceptable. But the GM’s rude response and the way he aggressively responded to his own staff was not. Just a jumped up little man on a power trip. Needless to say we walked out. Hopefully the little twerp learns how to treat his staff better before they walk out too
Absolutely AMAZING experience. So far the best brewdog I have been to. Larna and Aiden were wonderful people who were so accommodating. They took the time to say hi to my dog and make sure we were satisfied. Staff didn't look rushed and looked like a positive place to work. Happy staff made us happy customers. Obviously this place has only been open for 4 days so not going to be perfect, but they were perfect for us!
It's alright. Very clean and lots of staff when I visited who were very polite and welcoming. Most pints are around £6 quite expensive for what it is. None of the beers really blew me away which was disappointing. Inconsistencies in the pouring of the pints as well. ordered a round of 3 which all had noticeably different sized heads. Worth a try but definitely to expensive for what it is in my opinion
We are at the pub since 2.00pm we are denied drinks because we have been there too long. What a joke. I would not recommend this place.

I made a quick visit to Brewdog Upminster today while visiting London. The staff here are excellent and very friendly. I've been emailing Lana regarding some merchandise and it was kept aside for me and the staff on duty were very helpful and chatty. I'll definitely visit Brewdog Upminster next time I'm in that part of the world, enjoy your Liverpool postcard!
It was quiet when we visited yesterday lunchtime. As it was my first visit to this new pub/diner the waitress gave me some samples of the craft beer on offer. The beer was good and the burgers were amazing. I imagine that if we visited in the evening when it was busier the atmosphere would be 5 stars.

The newest Brewdog around and it has yet to settle in with the staff and the food. Beer is always good with a wide selection. Food is standard burger fare. Bar is child and dog friendly with a mixture of high tables, standard seat and easy chairs. Overall, the staff need to settle in to get to full Brewdog standards but I'm sure they will get there soon
One of the best Brewdogs I've been to (And I've been to alot) wicked atmosphere, Love wings Wednesday, 3x floors with a roof terrace that's great in the summer, music was spot on as well

Trendy type of place with a good pilsener type beer here annoyingly gone without trace following week. Outdoor seating. Some really loud and tedious people here on a Friday night, I suppose you can't blame brewdog for that and yes I would also concede it was my choice to live in Upminster

Everyone, servers and door staff very attentive. Manager was on the ball. Service was second to none. Food was brilliant, very well priced and delicious. Beer was so good. Atmosphere was just what you want. We even tried tasters which helped lock in some new punters. Perfect evening. Ten out of ten.
Longest and most incomplete service I’ve ever experienced. Food was nice. Good drinks. Very friendly staff. But food arrived before drinks order. Drinks orders forgotten 2-3 times. Deserts orders forgotten and reminders ignored. Hopefully they can sort this out before it becomes a reputation.
We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food but a really friendly place with a great vibe. The staff are genuinely invested in making sure you have a good time some great lager and more importantly some really good music!

Nice inside. Staff helpful and friendly. A few problems with service - drinks order was lost but overall not bad. The vegan plant stack dish was okay, not great, probably wouldn't have again. Great that half the menu is plant based though. Dogs welcome. Decent place overall.
The food was amazing. The drinks were perfect. Alot of choice. And the staff were friendly and kind. I especially love the girls toilets amenities. love the history behind brew dog. Dog friendly and dogs can have a paw tastic birthday xxx …
Typical BDog venue obviously popular as all the tables were booked. Thankfully we were there late afternoon so could get a seat before the evening bookings. Not much in the way of guest beers but a large selection of BDog beers. Made welcome by the staff.
