Some of the best pastries in town! Months ago I was home on a random Sunday with nothing to do but find a solid croissant because I had a craving. A quick Yelp search I stumbled upon Brightside Bakeshop and they looked legit. I walked in and got a classic croissant, one of their signature cinnaroll and then this magical thing called a kouign amann. I was in heaven, true heaven! Now it's a mild addiction and I order ahead so they don't sell out before I get there. Their monthly specials are seasonal, ever changing variety between savory and sweet you just have to try them all. Weekends are busy and Saturday they can sell out quick. Highly recommend pre-ordering Friday evening for your Saturday breakfast so you have ease of mind you'll get your delicious treats. The staff is so kind, welcoming and love guiding you if you just simply can't make up your mind. The shop is setup to where you see everything happening in the kitchen which as an at home baker I love getting a little glimpse of the magic. Please do support this amazing local small business, just leave some pastries for me! haha

The only bad thing that can be said about Brightside is that it's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The chocolate chip cookies here are nothing short of excellent. The Three Cheese Brioche and the Everything Cream Cheese Tart are also fantastic. The specials also slap. This month's Pumpkin Maple Cream Croissant Tart and Apple Oat Streusel Danish are to die for. I always look forward to the first of the month to find out what Brightside is blessing us with. I implore you to order ahead! Enough people know about the magic that is Brightside Bakeshop that selling out of items before closing time (and often before they even open!) is the norm. You do not want to leave it up to chance.

Brightside Bake shop is fabulous. The pastries are great. The coffee is strong but not bitter. (the perfect match for the sweet pastries) The cinnamon rolls are the best. The churro croissants or chocolate croissants are a fabulous second. All of their bread has real flavor. (not at all like grocery store croissants) there are several little cafe tables if you want to eat inside, or they will box your goodies to go. There is plenty of free parking and everything is nice and clean. The counter workers were happy to help and very friendly. They are only open until they run out of pastries, so go early for more selection.

I decided to try the Brightside Bakeshop after having seen it everyday coming home from work. While the hours are a bit limiting the products are delicious and well worth the wait! I bought way too much wanting to try it all but I am partial to the cinnaroll and the sticky buns. The texture and tastes are wonderful! I also got one 9f the cream cheese danish. The bread was crispy, the cream cheese filling plentiful, creamy and not too sweet, and the crumbles! OH the crumbles were crunchy and sweet and delightful! As you can probably tell I like my sweet things but the Brightside Bakeshop is a must! You won't regret it!

I am satisfied with my food and the service I received at this location. I got the Ham & Cheddar Brioche and Cinnaroll. I also ordered the Royal Treatment hot tea. When I walked in, I was greeted by a staff member and was helped right away. The H&C Brioche was soo good. I didn't even need to heat it up; you know something is good when you can enjoy it cold. The Cinnaroll creme on top was so soft and tasty; heck, the whole thing was great. The tea was unsweetened (just a heads up), but that's fine because I added mine when I got home. The prices are what you'd expect for gourmet pastries I'll be coming back.

For the past 2 years, our family has walked to Brightside Bakeshop every weekend. It has become one of our favorite things we look forward to! The pastries are unbelievably good and fresh!! There are very few bakeries that are this talented and making pastries by hand and we are SO lucky to have one right here in Nashville. The double chocolate roll and Cheesecake streusel danish are unreal, and of course the OG: the croissant. It is honestly better than any croissant I’ve had in France. Do yourself a favor and preorder them on the website today- this way you get them before they sell out. You won’t regret it!

  • Danielle Dean

Wow! We were so disappointed to be leaving our neighborhood bakery (Dozen) when we moved to the area. But on the Brightside, we discovered this amazing local bakery. I tried the ham and cheese brioche which was a delightful savory treat. My husband had the double chocolate roll which was outstanding and a real treat for the chocolate lover. Unapologetically, we shared a sunshine roll which has a fantastic citrus zest flavor to pick you up. Our only disappointment is that they don't sell baguettes and the like. We will be regulars, but we may have to start walking there.

Let me tell you something. If you don't manage to get a breakfast sandwich on a Thursday morning...you are missing the BEST THING YOU WILL EVER TASTE. Literally. I had it for the first time today...and I'm just salivating thinking about it. I didn't even have time to take a photo. And this is all to mention ONE sandwich. Don't get me started on the pumpkin cheesecake danish AND cinnamon roll. Yes...went all out and I may have just placed another order for tomorrow on my last day. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. SERIOUSLY. ORDER NOW. DON'T WAIT.

  • Andrea Schollnick

Best croissants I’ve ever had (including the ones I had in Frace). The chocolate almond one they have on the weekends is a must-try!

I haven't had pastries or breakfast items like this since I lived in Germany. Almost every other pastry shop I've been to in the states serves items that are far too sweet, and full of sub-par ingredients--not this one. The food isn't cheap, but it's worth it.

I haven’t even finished my pastry it’s that good. Came in and had the key lime pie, cheesecake, and fried green tomato pastries and they’re the best danishes/pastries I’ve had in my life. I’ve been to all the notable spots (Five Daughters, Donut and Dog, Triple Crown Bakery, etc) in Nashville and this beats them by a long shot. The price is comparable as well, $5-5.50 per danish. I definitely see this being a regular stop during the week. 11/10

A wide array of locally sourced seasonal treats. An efficient and kind group of employees who know what they’re doing and smile while they do it. If you care about buying local and family-owned...and if you care about your tastebuds...this bakery should top your list. Sweet? Savory? Don’t make the choice — get both. We’ve been to Brightside at least a dozen times now and have never been disappointed. You’ll love it as much as we do!

  • Whitney Kaslow

We cannot get enough of Brightside Bakeshop! Every single weekend, we get so excited to place a carry out order. We have ordered from her several times and have yet to be even close to disappointed. The website is extremely user friendly for online ordering, the service is always excellent with very fast and prompt curbside pickup, and the pastries (both sweet and savory) are out of this world! Grade A service, Grade A product!

  • Queenie Lux

These pastries…oh my gosh. Delicious!! We are close to The Nations location and we have been picking up boxes for holidays and special events. Every single box is amazing. We’ve picked up for Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day and have enjoyed all their different pastries. The ham & cheddar brioche is our favorite savory pastry. The coconut cream pie is our favorite croissant!

  • Sam Herrington

Everything you get here is delicious. My favorite treat is the Three Cheese Brioche (pictured). I like to heat it up just a little and it melts in my mouth. SO YUMMY! Their special change regularly and I always try to get one of those when I visit because they’re unique and yes, also very yummy. 10/10 forever, plus the people who work there are always so very kind!

  • Rick Petri

I'd give it 10 stars!!! I'm always looking for a good bakery and this one is great. They're currently pickup only but well organized and great service to your car. Order online the day before because they regularly sell out. Their pastries are so well balanced, baked and constructed perfectly I'm already looking forward to my next order.

  • Josh Barnett

My family were watching "Tennessee Crosswords" and this cool and interesting bakeshop near us was on. We decided to order and pick up the next day. The cinnamon rolls were amazing. The coffee was wonderful. It was a family hit and we will be back. I would recommend this lovely bakeshop in West Nashville. You will not be disappointed

  • Jason P

5 stars doesn’t do this place justice. Hands down the BEST bakery in Nashville. Great staples and amazing rotating creations. I have yet to be disappointed by anything I’ve tried!! Phenomenal quality for absolutely fair prices. I don’t know who’s back there creating these masterpieces but whoever you are, I LOVE YOU!

  • Blake

Whoa. This place lives up to the hype. I pre-ordered the day before and picked up at 8am the next day. Yes there was a small line at 8am, but the pre-orders get placed on a shelf that you're able to pick up quickly. Without a doubt would recommend to anyone that wants a good pastry in Nashville. Must see.

  • Aaron Legg

Cannot speak higher of Brightside. We are pretty well traveled and have truly enjoyed some special bakeries in France, Switzerland, and across the US. Brightside is the best. THE BEST. Order anything. You will love it. Whether you are visiting from our of town or a local, this spot cannot be passed up.

  • Anna B

Been many times and they're great. Easy to order, usually a good variety, nice staff. Favorite savory is the Everything tart - so good! All the sweet ones are consistently tasty. The brioches & cinnaroll are on the heavy side, so not my favorite. (Maybe the type of dough or the shape?) Will be back!

  • Paul Self

It's simply an understatement to say that Brightside Bakeshop is amazing. Each week, they craft new and creative pastries that are delicious, running the gamut of sweet to savory. Do your tastebuds a favor and stop by, but be sure to order ahead or the best items will almost certainly be gone.

  • Leslie H

Our company brought in Brightside Bakery items for our Christmas celebration! I had the ham breakfast roll. It was melt in your mouth delicious & satisfying! I hope I'm not dying, but I feel like I tasted a little piece of heaven! Today at least, we are all fat & happy employees! THANKS

  • Stan Lujan

Staff are wonderful and bakery items were simply out of this world….I thought I was in Rome or Paris in their incredibly bakeries. Cars were lined up ready for the 8am opening…a very popular place indeed. Just got back from Italy , and know what quality baked items taste like. …

  • Sue Mathis

Have been trying to visit this bakeshop for the last month. Finally made it to town early enough to catch them by noon. Oh my goodness. Absolutely delicious. We had a pastry made with croissant dough, chocolate and chocolate chips! Very friendly staff. Looking forward to another visit.

  • Joe Gnitteo

Wow! What a treat to have in the neighborhood. The staff are friendly, the pastry’s were excellent, and I will be back. They have a lot of savory options for those wanting to branch away from their sweet tooth, though the sweet pastry’s were good as well. Welcome to the neighborhood!

  • Natalie E

I have traveled to over 30 countries and this is by far the best bakery I have ever been too. We frequently visit their west side location and everything they sell is so fresh and tastes delicious! Recommend placing weekend orders online as it is very popular and sells out quickly.

  • JazBriel Golden

If you can please stop by! This place is so yummy. The chocolate roll and the cinna roll had my mouth watering. I will say, if you have plans to eat there they don’t warm up their rolls. Which sucks because they are amazing warm. So if you take them home, just heat for ten seconds.

  • Anna Linn Kane

I’ve been a fan since they were just a farmer’s market pop up. Now that I don’t live in Nashville anymore I always plan a stop while visiting. Sausage brioche is my favorite savory and I don’t think I could pick a favorite sweet they are all that good. Also staff is very friendly!

  • Monika Whittenburg

This is by far, the best bakery in town. Every single thing I've tried has been absolutely delicious! The staff is also extremely nice. I love the ease of ordering ahead (you need to in order to make sure they aren't sold out). The location is convenient and parking is simple.

  • Mr White

We live in the Memphis area and travel to and through Nashville on a regular basis. We always place and pick up an order at the Nashville East location. The pastries are always fresh and are always shared with friends and family. This is my go to spot for great pastries.

  • Randell Smith

I put in my first order at Brightside West a couple of months ago and love I can walk in and have my order in the pickup area ready to go with my name on it. Awesome place and the pastries are excellent and tasty!

Tried Brightside for the first time last week, and it is by far the best bakery in Nashville…I won’t name any names. I was planning to head to Brightside now when I read they close at noon. Bummer. So I’m writing this review instead. Seriously…go to Brightside ASAP!

  • Carol M

I had a chocolate croissant that was very good… However, they put flaked salt on top of it. It just didn’t work for me. Additionally, it is really a made to order bakeshop… They had about seven different items available for purchase five of which were croissants.

  • Christina Brown

Will definitely return. The carrot cake croissant was so good! Also tried the sausage and cheese brioche and Ham and mushroom strata. I knocked off one star because they didn’t offer to warm the strata or brioche. Truly the strata needed to be warmed.

  • Breanna Byron

The baked goods here rival any in the city. It’s a little bake shop tucked away in the nations and the pastries are so yummy. The almond croissant is by far my favorite. It’s so flaky and buttery. It’s definitely my go to bakery from now on.

  • Madeline Boldyrew

Brightside is one of my all time FAVORITE bakeries. The pastries are always incredibly delicious, consistent, decadent, I mean every positive adjective. They never disappoint. I work up the block, but I will even drive half an hour to them

  • Chelsey Byrd

We love having Brightside Bakeshop on our side of town. It’s so easy to order ahead online and is always 10/10. We’ve never been disappointed and always try new things. I never skip the prosciutto Gruyère croissant though! It’s my favorite.

  • Allison Sims

OUR FAVORITE BAKERY!!! Literally everything here is delicious! I should know - we've been here at least 15 times and bring family every time they're in town. Could not recommend more! TIP: Order online before going. Things sell out fast.

  • Brandy Lamb

I found this bake shop a block down from place we were renting for weekend. Don't know how to describe so it get the best review. I work in culinary business and this has to be best bakery ever wish there was one near my home.

  • Jacob Brown

So very cute. I’ve driven by this place a million times and never stopped by. I’m so glad I finally did! Fresh baked pastries and barista parlor coffee made the perfect date spot for me and my BF before estate sale shopping!

  • Jared Phillips

This place lives up to the hype! Excellent sweet and savory pastries (try the cheesecake danish) and very easy order-ahead process. Parking was straightforward and all around a great experience. A new weekend staple for me!

  • Kenny Gluck

This place is awesome, so far nothing has been short of delicious! I won't be surprised when Brightside takes over as the top bakery in Nashville! Cookies, Danishes, Croissants, and the Sticky buns are amazing!

  • Abigail Buxa

Brightside is the best thing Nashville has to offer. Every Sunday, before church, we sample these pastries. Get the cheesecake danish and the sausage brioche - but you can't go wrong with any of them. So good!

  • Tyler Barrett

First time trying this bake shop out and it did not disappoint!! I absolutely loved the apple turnover and cinaroll! I highly recommend stopping by here for some tasty treats. Cannot wait to come back

  • Tess

Went during COVID, so this review is based solely on the danish. I purchased the Peach Blueberry Danish. The danish is beautiful and tasty, but the excess use of sugar is both unnecessary and messy.

  • Tiffany Kling

Truly the best pastries in Nashville! I love that they have speciality options depending on the season. You have to try a chocolate chip cookie too, they are insanely delicious. Everything is great!

  • Faisal Ahmed

Ridiculous that they only make almond croissants on Saturdays and in such a small batch that they sell out by 9am. Good business practice would be to make more obviously to satisfy customer demand.

  • Nicole Payne

The staff and owner were super sweet to my toddler daughter running around the shop! I've had their baked goods from a coffee shop, but they are even more amazing straight out of the oven. 5 stars!

  • Amanda DeLong

This is one of my favorite bakeries in town! Wake up early so you don’t miss out on their daily goodies. My favorite is the churro croissant I order some for my family every time they visit …

  • Yoseph Alabdulwahab

Even though we came close to 11 with their baked goods almost completely sold out. The croissant and cookie we got were sooooo delicious! I wouldn't have changed anything about the visit. …

  • Dean Anderson

My coworkers attacked this box of pastries like a herd of Velociraptors that hadn’t had a meal in a week. They are literally that good, just set them on a table and watch from a distance.

  • Kathy Wilson

All of our pastries were delicious as usual. They also were very kind to fulfill my order at the Eastside bakery even though I accidentally ordered from the west side bakery. Thank you.

  • Drew Deal

Definitely our go-to bakery anytime we have company in town or just want something tasty. From the monthly specials to their amazing standards both sweet and savory - it’s all 5-stars
