"Nice park"
A great deal of planning, community input, and dedicated effort have clearly been poured into this park. Far more than a static green space, Broad Ripple Park is a public treasure trove of outdoor (and indoor) recreation. Although some of the amenities require sign in rotas or membership to make use of them, these restrictions are obviously there to protect these phenomenal resources and ensure they continue to benefit the local community for many years to come. In my brief time visiting the park, I found many great ideas, implemented well, which I would desperately love to bring to my own hometown. If you find yourself with a free afternoon, you would be well served to see this park for yourself.
Playground
The park had many play places but the one that caught my eye was inside the community center.
Restrooms
The brand new community center had very nice restrooms, and the staff manning the front desk can give directions, if needed.
Dog-friendliness
There is a membership dog park with some seriously good amenities in place for your doggo.
I would like to clarify that I am a nanny and I often go on outings with the kids without joining in on the fun. With that being said, today at Broad Ripple Pool, I brought TWO (2) of the kids to swim and they charge me for 2 kids and 1 adult because "I'm taking up space by using their chairs." This is abs and unacceptable. The bowling alley or sky zone doesn't charge parents for sitting while the kids play so why charge me for watch my kids have fun? They don't offer food, a splash pad or shade outside the two umbrellas they have. I wouldn't recommend this for your family. & $40/person for the family membership is unreasonable. I don't know who is overseeing this facility now but it was not ran like this in the past.
Love this park! It has a good sized playground with lots of mature trees for shade. There's lots of open areas for meditating, yoga, running around, tossing a ball, whatever. There's a large pavilion you can reserve, and picnic tables there and in the grassy areas. There's a trail around the perimeter for walking/jogging/biking, and there's different stations along it for exercising - a tilted situp bench, chin up bars, monkey bars, ladders, etc. You can watch boats go by on the observation deck over the river, and I believe there's a pool, but it didn't seem to be up and running when we were there. There are restrooms and parking as well.
Absolutely love this park! The playground could do some renovating but it's a very nice park for walks or runs and also to bring your kids around to the playground. My favorite part about this park, it's smack dab right next to Broad Ripple. So after a nice lunch or dinner(so many great choices to eat btw, they literally have almost every cuisine you could want, I'd list my favorite but there are too many in Ripple, I'll just say, one of my top 5 is the Broad Ripple Bagel Deli), it's nice to walk around the park and work all that food after a big meal and enjoy the river right next to the park as well.
Nice park. During the summer they have free music in the park. The outdoors pool. The community center very nice and affordable. They have several tennis courts where you can play pickleball. However you have to play over the tennis net and take the whole court. With the rise of popularity in pickleball not sure why they don't reline 3 tennis courts into 6 pickleball courts. I'm sure they would be put to good use. As well as people looking to have tournaments would use the park... ( money for the park).... It would be nice if it happened before next summer!!!
It's a nice playground, trail and dog park. It is well kept and not in disrepair. There is plenty of space for a variety of things to be done. I hate that they close the restrooms though even though the playground itself isn't closed for the season.
Playground
Lots of swings, slides and climbing areas. Great for a variety of ages.
Restrooms
I can't comment on the inside because they lock them up for the season which really stinks.
Dog-friendliness
The dog park is well maintained and there is a lot of room to let the pups play.
One of the best parks in the city!!!! Not only is there a dog park, they have a lake, shed, playground area, beach volleyball area and tons of open spaces and trails.
Playground
The babies loved the playground, with its different equipment for types of children
Restrooms
They were flooded and full of water. The portapotty was cleaner than the regular bathrooms, said my babies
Picnic area
Covered picnic area has electricity and is big enough to share if organized correctly
Our chi-weenie really enjoyed our walk in the park at Broad Ripple park! She barked at some kids, growled at a squirrel, and ate some grass! The park stays fairly clean, has plenty of space to walk around, or have a picnic. There's a dog park on the property, but I'm not sure of the rules, our chi-weenie is a little too raucous to hang out with other dogs. We walked down by the river, and really enjoyed the views of the trees coming back to life! Nice time in a nice park.
I don't go often since it's about a 40min drive from home but I love to take my dog on a walk here. It's always so well taken care of & clean. Even when events are going on you can get in a nice peaceful walk. They have numerous events which is nice. Due to distance I don't have a dog park pass even tho I'm sure my girl would love it. But speaking to many friends who do it is extremely nice now that it's all redone. I'd love to be able to take Reyna in occasionally tho.
Good place to get some exercise while following (what I like to call) the Exercise Path. This path contains various exercise equipment along the way - don’t see this very often in an outdoor park environment. Also, the pool is pretty good and clean for those of us who don’t need a ton of bells and whistles to have fun. Good for teens and adults to just get some sun and cool off. After the pool, you can hit the park and and enjoy nature for a while. Great city fun!
Small but beautiful park, I was overcome with exhaustion one morning after visiting Einstein bagels and pulled in all the way back to their parking lot under a shade tree and finished eating. Then, woke up about an hour later undisturbed. Nice, since my heart condition leaves me feeling completely exhausted so often...it's nice to know there's a place like this i can pull in and just rest for a moment while I'm out during the daytime.
Nice large, open park. Two playgrounds adjacent to each other with a big shade tree over them for families. There are walking/jogging paths all over, including through some lightly forested areas and along the White River. There is big covered tabled area for large gatherings and picnics. There's also a very large pool area, but there's little to no shade there and it appears to be pretty limited in terms open dates and hours.
Well maintained dog park with vaccination screening for all dogs allowed into the park, with key fob entrance and exit. Lots of different dogs of all sizes mixed into one park, no small dog park, but as long as you’re supervising your doggo and they are encouraged to be well socialized, you’ll guarantee a fun time for your furry friend. Make sure to pick up after your dog and bring a bottle of water in the winter!
The leaves have really started to fall and anyone wanting to get a great leaf collection started, this is the place. Take a walk around the loop and crunch on some leaves, enjoy the fall colors, go to the lookout and enjoy the view of the White River, take your kids to the playground, dogs to the dog park or just sit at a picnic table and read a book. Something to note: the restrooms are closed for the winter.
Peacefull park in the heart of Broad Ripple, undergoing some renovayion currently, has big fields, a dog park, a boat launch, playground, bathrooms, tennis/pickleball courts+ Always something going on in there, so its very lively and parking is busy, but never full. CCA does kickball on Thurs there and lots of people playing Spikeball. Trails throughout. Overll great energy and space.
A great space to workout. A much needed addition to the Broad Ripple community! -indoor walking track -gymnasium -pickleball -group exercise rooms -multipurpose rooms with large windows -group meeting space -children’s play area equipped with an indoor playground and party room -locker room -guest lockers -Great front desk attendant! Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
We visit Broad Ripple Park a few times a week. The playground is a lot of fun, and during the Summer there is always something interesting going on. There is plenty of space, and lots of shade, which are two very important factors for me. I love bringing my kids here, and our dog. I love going down by the water. It's like a hidden paradise!
Other than the new monstrosity of a building that ate up green space and hogs the river view and boat dock access parking, this place is awesome. I still can't figure out why anyone would have approved that project. Of course, I should have known once they moved what used to be the best library to a mall surrounded by busy streets....
Great park! Very dog friendly. If you have a pass for the bark park, your money is well spent. Well stocked with bags for “accidents” and I’d say about 90% of the other owners are great about cleaning up after their pups. Day passes are available. Most members will adhere to the policy of not letting non-members in.
This place use to be so beautiful, but it's now kind of ran down. I have to assume it's due to the pandemic and all, but the pool and community center really needs so tlc. It is also about time for some new equipment as well. The benches needs to be replaced sooner than later. The shelters still look decent.
My absolute favourite local park! They offer so much for humans and dogs including walking trails that go past the river and through the woods. They are also very well known for their dog park which we enjoy to take our clients that are patrons of the park, along with our personal dogs who are park members.
This place is great, you can walk in a patch of woods, go to the water, let little kids play on the playground, tennis courts, bring recycling and they have great programs for kids, especially in the summer when the pool is open. They used to have metal rocket shaped jungle gyms when I was a kid.
Honestly, it's great. I sometimes come here just to relax and watch the squirrels. It sounds kind of stupid typing that out, but I think it's great that you can do that in the City. It's also fun to watch the same folks play pickle ball on some days. Just a nice place to relax for awhile.
It's unfortunate that the dog park costs money. We drove from Avon just to see that one must be a member. It'd be neat if they had trails going through the woods. The exercise course was pretty neat! Kiddo loved the playgrounds! Would definitely go back, but only when in the area.
The pool is well-priced. It is an older pool and the deck area needs to be swept and washed down to improve hygiene and appearance. The pool is nice, but there is quite a bit of debris in it. I ended up with an earring in my heel. It happens. So, pool shoes may be recommended.
Lots to love about this park. Next to white river. Great picnic and playgrounds! Walking trails. Bark park by membership. Or walk your dog on leash throughout remainder of park. Copious parking. Nice friendly people. David Letterman and Jane Pauley grew up near this park.
In the midst of busy Broadripple is this quaint little park. Charming walking trails, tree-shaded playground, covered picnic area, boat slip into White River, & an awesome dog park to boot! Once inside the park, the noises of the nearby road fade away. Peaceful and fun!
A great park on the white river. There is a boat launch, a workout loop through the park and fields to accommodate many activities. There is also a play ground and large pavilion with picnic tables. Personally I enjoy the pick up ultimate frisbee on Thursdays at 6 pm.
The playground is a little dated. Needs a bit of a lift, but the little ones still have fun when we occasionally visit. It's in a great location so hopefully our city's parks department will be updated this spot in the near future. I believe it has so much potential.
Little small but nice. if you want a picnic it's good. Maybe a mid sized cookout. If you want to go hiking, the trails are too short. The soccer field, tennis courts, and kid play areas are well maintained. Pool was amazing pre-covid, but looks horrible at the moment
Great place to enjoy a walk or walk your dog, on a leash. Plenty of room to rent space or even have a live show there. We actually saw 2 hot air balloon rides being setup on day in the back near the soccer field. Overall a really nice park in the middle of the city.
Nice, clean ,quiet, well kept landscape, the playground was kid busy, as it should be, the pool seemed relaxed not too crowded, boating and fishing is nearby on White River and the dog park is a very nice addition for ur fluffy friends. Overall it was a fun time.
Broad ripple park is doing a lot right now to improve! It’s opened the pool, there is construction, and when we went yesterday it was really clean and a lot of people were enjoying themselves around the park! There are a lot of walking paths and lots to do there!
A nice place to take your family to the park, including your dog. There's a public pool in season for the summer. You can also look at the river. It's located near by the village with several restaurants. So, if you want to have a nice picnic it's within reach.
The grounds are very well kept and the playground equipment is suitable for kids 2-10 in my option. Great seating under the shade for a picnic and nice trails to enjoy the nature. However the bathrooms are often out of order and closed during the winter.
Is a nice and big place to let the dogs play and have fun. There is a shower for the dogs. The thing you need a fob key to get in. You can get that one in the office park. Just need to bring the vaccines card from the dog and pay a fee and you're set.
We love this park! Lots of green areas to walk. There is a Bark Park for doggies (registration with vaccination records required for key fob entry), a well-kept playground for littles, and covered areas for outdoor events. We plan to come often!
This is a big area with tennis courts, walking trails, picnic tables, outside shelters, and bathrooms. The front of the park is a enclosed area for dogs to play(dog park). Many attractions have been abandoned by the Parks Department: The
This park is happening. I have only been to one half of the park but we use the baseball field which is in horrible shape.i wish someone would take care of it..pay me and I'll do it. They have a big Field where people play rugby and
Dog park is incredible! So many dogs for your little or big dogs to play with. Great area to run. Owners are very nice. They have poop bags, water and trash area. Fun obstacles for the dogs to run on and through. Beautiful area!
Beautiful park. Great place to take your kids and fur babies. Also has shelters and grills for get togethers.
Dog-friendliness
Big dog area to run or walk your pets
Picnic area
Picnic areas were nice and tidy.
The boat ride was very nice. We were invited to a birthday surprise gathering and everyone enjoyed their time together. Only thing is it was really hot and we wish they had some kind of fans that could have cooled us off
It was way cooler when I was a kid. Still nice river views. Currently lots of chicken construction. Nice dog park if you have a dog. Average playground. There are workout stations along the main trail. Usually not busy.
This park has a ton to offer with the dog park, play grounds, picnic areas, plenty of own green space, trails, and much more than you'd think just driving by. Not to mention the gorgeous new community center!
Great park. I often enjoy walking around the trails. Many people go there but everyone is always nice.
Dog-friendliness
They have a dog park at the front and many people walk their dogs on the trails.
Always been there from my childhood when my Mother took me and my siblings to play to now. It is still clean, safe, family friendly. Beautiful huge trees, vista views of the river. You won't be disappointed!
Great park, lots of open space to play pick up games or let the dog run. Also 5 or so workout stations around the park. There is a gravel trail throughout the whole park. Also there is a dog park here too.
We LOVE broad ripple park. It's a nice to place to walk and we enjoy the wooded trails. The dog park is also a great place to go with our two dogs. We haven't met any overly aggressive dogs at this park.
Parked here to walk to the Broadripple Art Fair - via the Monon Trail. The entire site is under construction - a new community athletic center. The dog park was still scalable and being enjoyed by many.
Beautiful neighborhood...Lafayette is a great town, growing like crazy, plenty of good job openings, Purdue University, Lots of opportunities. BEAUTIFUL, HUGE HOUSES BUILT IN THE 1820's - 1860's.
Small park for kids to play, large dog park and lots of walking area around the white River. There is also a boat ramp there with a decent amount of parking. Nice dock to do some fishing off of.
Chill neighborhood park. Lots of fun monkey bar stuff for grown ups too. Good shade and good sunshine. River access. Clean toilets. I’m very grateful to the people who take care of this park.
Went to the dog park with our granddaughter and great-granddog. He had a great time and we had fun watching him play with all the other dogs. Wonderful place to bring your favorite pooch.
Beautiful place to bring the whole family. Very dog friendly with trails and lots of open field space. Love the play grounds and swings. You can view the river and find sun and shade!
Love this park . I love that the park has a bathroom BUT its now closed till the spring I suppose. Not good people use this park all year round. I wish the bathroom would stay open.
Fairly nice sized park, plenty of picnic tables and benches, family swimming pool, boat launch and a dog park. Something for everyone, great location to check out the white river.
The new facilities are excellent and there's plenty to offer. Dog park, running, racquetball indoors, plus the host of other things that individuals ,couples or families can do.
Nice safe park for families with children. But with all growing around Broadripple. They need to expand the playground to accommodate the growing community of families …
Family center now open with a FREE indoor track, plus cheap basketball/futsal/pickleball/yoga/etc. So excited to see this open, especially on such a gloomy day outside.
Nice place to go with your family or just you and your spouse. Good atmosphere to just relax and unwind a little. There is also a dog park right next to this one.
This park is nice but does not have any special features or updates on the playground. I walked with a blind friend and the trails are accessible and clear.
Awesome place to take the kids or dogs. Nice open area with trees, a river and 2 playgrounds. Picnic table in the middle of a bright sunny field. Love it.
We had fun in the pool.... But the restroom facilities were absolutely atrocious! And I do mean... disgusting! Please something about that ASAP
We try to visit the Broad Ripple Park dog park at least 3x a week! Best dog park in the city! Always lots of friendly dogs and very clean.
I went to this park because they were having a feast of tabernacle celebration. I had never been here before. What a lovely little park!
It's Big, it's beautiful, it's Broad Ripple Park! Quiet & Serene. This is my go-to if I need to decompress and be at one with Nature.
Such an awesome place especially for kids! Sadly I did have some not so friendly staff when checking in. Everyone has bad days tho
Big open park with mature trees, a nice play structure and swings. Lots of picnic tables as well both with shelters and without.
A fun dog park with running water and bathing station... on a beautiful day there are many dogs .... a fun place for humans too
It's very peaceful and quiet and relaxing here this place keeps stress and anxiety at bay when the dog-walking option is great
A small but beautiful park in Indianapolis that runs along the White River. Has a fitness trail, dog park and picnic areas.
Friendly people and a decent playground. Decent fishing too. Caught 3 bluegill right off of the dock with my son
Great park that keeps expanding with new projects. Tennis courts, soccer field, walking trail, outdoor pool!
Very nice park. New payment and lights. Well taken care of park. It's cool to walk beside white river too.
It's ok for a city park. The ground were pretty clean. They had summer camp with children in the pool.
Beautiful park with plenty to do. Gorgeous trees and grounds right at white river...enjoy yourself !!'
Park has a nice walking trail . Nice to go look at the water and relax. It wasn't over crowded either.
Not here for the park but the river boat launch ramp. Kayaked to Keystone. Lots of interesting sights.
Nice pool, nice exercise trail. Swim when it first opens on The week days, and not many people.
Softball field is god awful. Not very well kept overall
Restrooms
Just a port-a-potty
Shaded paths to jog and walk. Playground with swings and a jungle gym. Quiet and clean.
Great park with THE BIGGEST SQUIRRELS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Great for kids and dogs.
Very beautiful clean park, it also has A pool . Very kid and animal friendly
I went there to vote. It was a nice place with space for various activities
This park is super big. We had a great time. We will be visiting it again
Wish there were closer parking to the offices. Meh. I love the move tho
I needed a restroom for my kid and it was "closed for the season"
Always great to visit where it all started for me! #Rockets4Life
The summer day camp has been wonderful for my 11 year old
Clean, beautiful scenery and the shops are nice to visit.
Beautiful park!! Great playground and walking trails
Great for walking. They also have a nice dog park!
Love the building, community center, dog park.
