Recently transferred to Broadgreen from Aintree University Hospital after a hip replacement operation. It was like moving from a dull, noisy and uncomfortable environment to a smart hotel. I was allocated my own room with TV and WiFi which worked, contrary to AUH. A printed menu was produced from which I was invited to choose my meal, very nice incidentally, also contrary to AUH. Physiotherapist then arrived and having gone through all exercises apart from the stairs, asked if I felt like trying them. Suffice to say that afterwards he said he would check with the medics but as far as he was concerned I could go home. Therefore, I only spent 5/6 hours at Broadgreen and have nothing but high praise and thanks for all the staff there did for me. How there can be such a difference between two hospitals in the same NHS Foundation Trust is mind boggling. AUH has a long way to go to get anywhere near the excellent standards of Broadgreen.
When I was told that my daughter (who is 23) was to have a cardiac ablation at Broadgreen Hospital on Holly Wing I was beside myself. What if they wouldnt let me stay with her. What would she do on her own. Would they let me know when she was back from surgery. From walking through the doors at 7:45 to leaving at 19:30 today I need not have worried. What a fantastic team of nurses, Dr's and porters. They encouraged me to be with her throughout all of her day. I was asked to wait in a lounge were free coffee and tea was constantley available. A pager to tell me when she was back and a kind smile.Thank you from the bottom of a terrified mum's heart. I will always be grateful for your kindness, professionalism and bloody hard work.I may have made her heart but you fixed it. Thank you. The NHS now that's something to be proud of. Xx
Attending BroadgreenHospital over the last decade, has always been a positive experience. A clean modern hospital with friendly & helpful staff⚕️⚕️⚕️⚕️. The only qualm I have with Broadgreen, is the expensive car park which like the Royal Liverpool fills up fast & costs over the odds to use. And remember to bring an umbrella with you if it's a rainy day & you have an appointment for late morning onwards.... As you'll most probably find yourself having to park on the uncovered top floor of the visitors car park☔before then making the 10 minute walk to the hospital's main entrance. For those with limited ability♿ there's a hospital bus shuttle service that runs between these two points(car park & hospital main entrance) & around the whole hospital site .
Visited Broadgreen Hospital yesterday for an appointment with family and other family took us by car, the parking was not bad but getting the ticket from the machine was awkward unless you drive nearer to go through the bollard and park up. Using the signposts for where we had to go was pretty good to get their. The wait was not long in the clinic so we had to go and wait in the coffee shop while they went in to the waiting area to be seen by the doctor, mean time we went into the main part of the hospital and visited a Starbucks on the right for a cup of tea and snack bar. However they where not too long and joined us for a cappuccino coffee ☕ and doughnut afterwards which was a good deal for £4.25. Then we went back the car park to pay for our ticket and back home.
Really cannot praise all the staff, doctors and nurses that we have had the pleasure of meeting enough! OUTSTANDING care. Nothing is too much trouble. They take time out to answer any questions or worries you may have without hesitation. The patient food is like a hotel room service! Fabulous choice and the quality is 5 star! My Dad has never felt so at ease in a hospital, and I have never felt so at ease having to leave him there. I must just mention a certain nurse.... JOHN ...what an absolute gem he is. When dad was on CCU one to one care he was amazing with Dad, as were all the other nurses. But John sat and answered our questions for ages.....and what a lovely Funny and caring guy he is. From the bottom of OUR hearts......Thank you. Xxx
I can't believe it has taken me 7 years to leave a review. I was lucky enough to have my 2nd operation at Broadgreen and carried out by Mr Nicolaos Giotakis after a failed operation in the Royal Blackburn. The operation carried out by Mr Giotakis of Broadgreen gave me my life back. The care I received from the nursing team was also amazing and made to feel comfortable and treated with respect. I cannot thank Mr Giotakis and his fantastic team enough. Now I can run with my dog on the beach and walk hand in hand with my partner up hills and in the sea and work as a heavy engineer when I had been told it wouldn't be possible previously . THANK YOU
I have been ringing them for 45 minutes to change an appointment .....its quite sad.am not even getting in a que ha ha ha. ok make that 55 minutes. here is how is work when trying to change an appointment for the ORTHOTICS department. 1 call the number on the letter 2 listen to a 45 secoond message 3 listen to a 45 second message ans so on for 55 mintes !! 99 google the depatment and call a different number, get in a que ...progress...talk to some one ...they the send you back to when you started....the 45 second message ! this is no refection on the great staff that work there ,but something is not right.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE i arrived at 0835 for my 9 0 am appt and registered at the reception desk with the lady i sat like a fool till 10 am and through boredom i counted 27 people with later appts 0935 0950 being called in before me to add to this 2 seperate alcoholic men barged in to the front of the queue with no opposition from the staff they had no appts they were seen within minutes due to there agressive attitude at 10 am i asked the receptionist when i would be seen to be told i had not been put on the system by the female receptionist @ 0835 NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN
I was looked after very well by the staff on the day care ward bay B. Thank you to my nurses Cathy, Angela and Kirsty. I was impressed with how the OT, my anaesthetist and Mr Yin and his team came to see me beforehand. I had an intramuscular lipoma removed from my left inner elbow. I was very pleased with being given the pain block for my arm as it is only just now starting to wear off from when I had it on Wednesday early afternoon. Thank you very much to Mr Yin and his team. I made some new friends too.
I accompanied Ms Georgina Caffrey to the " over 65's" unit in the Alexandra wing. 9months ago she attended and was told that she would receive an appointment this was for polyps in her gall bladder, these cause her severe pain, we relieved another appointment which we attended on 10-9-23. Only to be told she would have to see someone else. She has suffered pain for 2 years. I feel that her treatment has been sadly lacking in the kind of treatment the NHS is famous for. I would give the NHS minus stars.
This is a well-designed and well-equipped hospital complex. The hospital is the main location for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust's elective general, urological and orthopaedic surgery, diagnosis and treatment, together with specialist rehabilitation, and it apperars to have an abundance of features which ensure that it is a very secure facility as regards ingress and egress. The location is ideal, and can comfortably be visited using public transportation.
Somewhat incompetent and a minority of staff continuing to be paranoid about COVID-19 and insisting patients with exemptions wear masks even now, but most staff are not so insane. Did take well over an hour for a pre-arranged appointment to be fully dealt with though. A few weirdo staff wearing masks below their nose, which is pointless so they should just take them off. Thankfully none of those ones demanded I wear a mask as I'd have given them a gobful for being hypocrites.
Visited today with my mum to be seen by cardiologist and I must say, that the staff in this hospital from receptionist to nurses, to doctors and other staff, is amazing, caring and lovely. You feel welcomed, you really feel that they are trying to help you as much as they can, they just show you that they care ! Amazing people, amazing place, where you really feel, that you dont need to worry, you feel that you are in the best place to get help. well done !!!!!!!
Attended Broadgreen for first time today for endoscopy, the team were so friendly and chatty and quickly put me at ease as feeling anxious, the procedure went well. the whole experience was a massive improvement from the previous appointmet in AUH on a weekend appointment with agency staff I just felt like I was on a converbelt If I need this procedure again will definitely request Broadgreen Thank You Mildred, Kris , Jane and Clare.. You are all stars!!!!
Lovely staff on mammogram clinic .very sensitive and respectful . It's just the little things sometimes that make a big difference .The radiologist that joined in my sense of humour ...and it is a bit odd ! And the receptionist who noticed I was struggling with an extremely painful knee .And kindly brought me water instead of me struggling to get it . Not life saving I know but reassuring and made visit so much more pleasant .
Amazing surgeon team nurses and all staff have had two of my three surgeries ankle under the care of peterson who is very caring as are all of the staff i have recieved exceptionally great care communication across all teams is continuous hoping next surgery will be finalised soon thanks to everyone involved in my care i am truly blessed ❤
A huge thankyou to the two staff in the mobile scanner, who, last week were very understanding and kind to my husband as we arrived late for his appointment, after a long journey from North Wales, and getting lost in the city! The nurse even came out to the car to give us directions on how to get home! Thank you very much! Diolch yn Fawr!
Starbucks inside is absolutely disgusting. Tastes like dirty water. Bought one in the morning and one in the afternoon and they were both horrible. They clearly do not know how to make the drinks- my dead great grandma could pour a better hot chocolate than the atrocity they gave me. You'll probably fall ill if you drink from here.
I was seen yesterday at the Orthopaedic Outpatients Clinic (MCAS) and was absolutely blown away by their excellent service. Clinics ran to time and the staff was lovely, especially the polite physiotherapist who saw to me. My whole experience was excellent and can't be faulted in any way whatsoever. Thank you.
Attended the Holly Suite today for a procedure, what a fantastic team,I was so well looked after from admission to discharge.Emma my nominated nurse was very professional and very informative. All the staff on that unit are so pleasant and helpful and a credit to the trust, well done . Thank you all so much.

Excellent staff, very caring. There are not enough words to express my thanks and gratitude for all their hard work nursing my husband during his 6 week stay. Thanks to them I still have my husband, our children have their dad and our grandchildren have their granddad. Again, thank you so much.
This is an excellent hospital. I have visited it regularly over a long period of time both as an out patient and visitor. Friendly and helpful staff with a relaxed and caring attitude. Two cafes on site. Cash needed for the parking meter. A hospital shop on site for last minute purchases.
Had to attend the hospital today with my partner we were not sure which department we had to go to Paul the receptionist at the main desk went above and beyond to help us all the staff we met were pleasant and very helpful at what is a very trying time for the NHS well done everyone 10/10
My mother in law works as an volunteer for your hospital and has to sit in the reception of the heart and chest department. She is not happy with the windows not being fixed as it can get very cold especially with winter coming. She has made an complaint for nothing has been done
I have had five stents over a ten-year period. The staff made a somewhat unpleasant procedure tolerable. The latest modern equipment and techniques, combined with expertise in the field of heart surgery; makes Broadgreen the finest heart and chest u hospital in the region.
Had a fall from a roof 3 years ago and destroyed my left leg and have had multiple operations and physio weekly and i can honestly say i haven't been a better hospital every member off staff i have met are always polite happy and easy to talk too keep up the great work
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the staff during my brief stay with you. In my eyes you all deserve medals for the work you do. A special thank you to nurse Megan Savage for all your help. Please one and all take care and stay safe. - Mary Wright
What a nice hospital. Clean, bright (lots of windows) and lots of green areas to sit in for a bit of fresh air. Nurses are lovely even if they are overworked at the moment. Lot's of social distancing going on but everything seems to be running smoothly.
Thanks to all at LHCH for the amazing care and dedication of all your staff especially Birch Ward, Cath Lab, Recovery Suite, Radiology, Porters Cooks, Cleaners etc etc etc even the patients. My wife was treat there yesterday, can't thank you all enough.
A lovely place with extra careing staff who will go out of their way and give you extra help for you when really needed, and, the nurses even went out of their way to even put cream on my out of control excema whilst I was in the heart hospital.!!
It is a charming place. The architecture and the way how old is merged with new buildings, let you forget why you had to come here. Staff is lovely (well, there always will be one or two exceptions). Recomend to pay attention on the way, to
Excellent. The staff on ward 2 are great! I have been here for a pre op and also a laprascopic appendectomy and i can't honestly fault the service at all. I hope to never return to a hospital but if i did this would be my only choice.

First time at this hospital today and they were having a nightmare and ultimately were hours behind on my procedure but that didn’t matter they were fab and very caring and the hospital was also very clean and tidy.
Staff where all grat but the hospital itself was a really awkward to mavigate. If it's your first time there, get there in plenty of time for your appointment. Lots of walking and trying to figure out the way.
Helpful, efficient, professional ,friendly, clean and well-equipped ...been a while since I have used all these adjectives to describe a hospital and its employees in the UK. Made my visit way less anxious.

Went to Holly Centre today. Wonderful staff, from reception, nurses, doctors. The lovely lady who brought the refreshments after the procedure and made us all laugh. Would definitely recommend
Surgical closure of septal perforation failed immediately after surgery despite reassurance that failure is practically impossible. Surgeon reacted to news of failed operation with denial.

Lovely place. Lovely staff. 5 star treatment. Operations are a stressful experience but I couldn't have wished for a better outcome.
Covid is a serious issue for us all, its also a cover for not answering calls and an excuse for poor service. The NHS is a service!
