I had an amazing experience shopping with Agnes at Brooklyn City Furniture. I purged most of my belongings in a cross-country move and was in *desperate* need of somewhere to sit in my new apartment. I visited Brooklyn City Furniture because a) it was rated highly and b) the gorgeous furniture on display. After a few more visits and a lot of deliberation, I decided on a sofa by Gus Modern. I return to place my order but... the sofa was out of stock so it would be a month plus to get it. This makes sense because COVID has put major kinks in the global supply chain, so getting anything, let alone a beautiful, well designed sofa has become challenging. I sadly tell Agnes I can't wait a month because my apartment is literally empty. Agnes was empathetic and asked me to wait a moment while she called her supplier. A few phone calls back and forth and Agnes has pulled off a miracle—she got me put in line for the sofa. I'm not sure about the specific magic, but I know she called in a favor on my behalf. I happily pay for the sofa and wait for a week to receive it. Delivery was a breeze to set up—Agnes was very communicative with updates and I knew exactly when my sofa would arrive. My sofa was delivered expertly by Michael and (I'm sorry I don't recall the other fellow's name, I'll update if I can remember!). They were cheery, fast, and respectful. I'm writing this review sitting on my beautiful sofa. I love it. I wouldn't hesitate to shop at Brooklyn City Furniture again.

The furnishings selection was amazing! I didn't know what to expect when going in. But upon entering, I saw that it was a place that is very dedicated to stocking high-end furniture from all over the world. There were styles for practically all tastes and the service was incredible. Agnes helped us and she was so nice and patient. We were extremely particular about what we wanted and had many checkboxes that need to be ticked off. Agnes stayed with us while we were mulling over selections, showing us swatches and providing us information whenever we had questions. She was very knowledgeable with the furniture's lead times, materials, and prices. I think the most important thing that I want to point out is that we felt no pressure whatsoever. We felt free to continuously ask questions, inquire about multiple pieces, and additional swatches/lead times. It felt amazing to be able to find a piece that worked for our space (Gus* Modular Sectional). Delivery was well coordinated and careful. We had a piece from the brand that was a little off (not to the fault of Brooklyn City Furniture) and Agnes was super responsive in contacting the furniture company and initiating a swap. I couldn't be happier purchasing from this small business! I will definitely return to buy furniture through Agnes. She made the entire process amazing.

My experience with Brooklyn City Furniture actually blew my mind (in the best way). After finding a sofa that fulfilled all my hopes and dreams, retailer after retailer told me it was being discontinued, and IF they could get it for me, it could be months. I was moving and would be couchless. I didn’t have months. JB at Brooklyn City Furniture had a floor model of the sofa and it was in mint condition. He sent me photos and even offered to FaceTime to let me see it. I purchased the sofa and agreed upon a delivery date. After reviewing the options for getting it into my building we were unsure if the sofa would fit into the little elevator or if the couch would have to be maneuvered up six flights of stairs. JB actually drove out to see for himself clear over to the upper west side. He took measurements and talked to the doorman and assured me he could make the elevator work (no one believed it would). On the day of move in, still filled with doubt, I watched JB get the perfectly wrapped sofa into my building elevator with a clearance of just millimeters, and then flawlessly unpacked and placed into my apartment. I would buy anything I could from this company at this point due to the care and service they provided. And I would recommend them to anyone and everyone I know.

I first went into the store because they are the only store in NYC that carries the sofa I was interested in. I wanted to try it out before buying it, rather than just ordering it online. That particular sofa wasn't quite right for me, but luckily, the store carries many other interesting and unique sofas (not the same boring stuff as big box stores) and I found an even better sofa -and bought it. It was in stock and they were able to deliver it within days; however, when they got to my building, it didn't fit in the elevator. They subsequently came back a few days later (and with 2 more men) and carried it up 11 flights of stairs!! White glove delivery and service all the way! Agnes and John were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish - helpful, creative, and honest about timing, challenges, etc. throughout. I would highly recommend them. And in fact, since I still need more furniture, I will be going back (they have much more than just sofas)!

On May 12th my daughter and I walked into Brooklyn City Furniture and not only fell in love with everything that was displayed, but also Agnes who was just amazing! I live in Colorado and we were closing on a condo for our daughter the next day and wanted to get it furnished ASAP. As you know, timeline for furniture purchase is very long, but Agnes worked with us and even held our furniture delivery for a few days so we could finish some painting before the furniture was delivered! We had our furniture delivered (white glove service!) by June 10th! We purchased a beautiful couch, bar stools, dining table and chairs. Unlike competing companies that sell only on the Internet, Brooklyn City Furniture has a showroom so that you can physically see how the furniture looks before committing. Agnes and John are extremely patient and hospitable and spent much of a hot afternoon this summer helping us choose everything from a new couch to a dining table. We ended up buying everything from them. Their white glove service is superb as well and is highly recommended. "Brooklyn City Furniture" is the answer given when asked where I bought my beautiful dining room set, sideboard, sleeper sofa, dresser, rug, chair, etc. etc. When friends come over to our place, the first thing they say is that they love the sleek, modern designs. I'm not an interior designer at all.. This wouldn't be possible without Agnes's help. She listened carefully and made suggestions based on the criteria I had in mind. She was collaborative, informative and super flexible with my indecisiveness. John was patient, engaging and welcoming. I am so glad I found them. We live in the neighborhood and they went above and beyond to accommodate our crazy schedules and turn around times.

Totally Great from start to finish! JB is knowledgeable about furniture and helped me pick the right pieces. He even came to my house to make sure he could get it up our tricky stairs. Service was excellent, friendly and never rushed. Delivery day arrived and JB and his assistant did everything and more to get the pieces in, and removed our old large sectional ... not a scuff or scratch anywhere. Great store with a large variety of modern pieces, especially for smaller B'klyn apts and homes. I recommend JB and City Furniture without reservation.

I passed by this really quite low key shop in my neighborhood and decided to just give it a try and see their sofas. Very competent advice and admission they did not have the perfect sofa I was looking for - but then might get in a week's time. I saw the pictures, made a reimbursable down payment - and then everything worked out just perfect. In the end I decided not to take it in the color I had reserved it, which was not a problem to change, and the sofa has just been delivered two hours ago and looks great. I surely recommend this shop!

Bought living room rug recently from Brooklyn City Furniture. 5-star experience from start to finish! Agnes a dream! So accommodating. She permitted us to take home her only sample of pattern we liked so that we could tell if colors looked good in our living room. An immediate Yes! Took 2 weeks for rug to come in. They delivered it to our lobby and picked up sample, all without charge. And we love the rug!! Highly recommend this store!! Both Agnes and her partner are incredible! Called to inquire about a sofa on a Sunday. Initially they didn't have it on the floor but Agnes called back to say that they have something similar about to be delivered. They agreed to hold the delivery by a few hours for us to be able to see it on site. No one does that nowadays! JB & Agnes were very accommodating to us with measurements, etc. Zoom forward to delivery day & we opted for white glove service. In & out within an hour tops with not a cardboard to discard. Will definitely recommend Brooklyn City Furniture.

Above and beyond service and communication from these folks! When we moved to the neighborhood in 2012, we got a great couch from Sergio, so when we needed another this year, it was obvious where to go. Not only was the price better than other deals we'd seen online, the service from JB was excellent. Delivery was a breeze and the guys were so friendly and helpful! The "Grand D.E.L" Sofa is amazing, and the only one we've ever seen that provides a queen-size bed in a form factor that fits so well in our room.

While they didn't have the sofa on view in their store, I ended up going to the sofa company's showroom in Manhattan and tried it there before buying here. Be careful ordering online!! I ordered a desk on sale on Black Friday and they just notified me a week later that they cancelled it per my request. I called and they said they have to put it in the system like that and they’re not able to fulfill the order. They were going to be removing the desk from their website after the fact. The desk is no longer on sale at the other online stores I could have ordered it from. Save yourself the time and headache and order somewhere else.

John was so patient and answered all of my questions about the Gus modern couches. When it came time to order he helped me with measurements and suggesting pieces that would fit my space. The Gus modern couch is so comfortable and the pieces are fun because you can rearrange them and order different colors. Also they shipped to me in less than a month when other retailers take 8-10 weeks. Brooklyn City Furniture is a great store. I highly recommend using them.

I bought the Gus Modern Cabot leather sofa from City Furniture. The sofa is fantastic. Love it. I bought it online without driving into Brooklyn to look at it first. I was very concerned about the color or potential damage as it was a floor model. JB, the owner was extremely helpful in emailing pictures and also was very flexible in delivering the sofa on a day I was off down here in Point Pleasant, NJ. I highly recommend.

The sofa brand accepted the order but then couldn't fulfill it - BCF managed to find the exact sofa we'd ordered in another warehouse and get it to us. One of the arms was not right when it arrived and the team took it away, fixed it and then came back the next day to finish the job. Purchased a Gus Modern couch from the store recently. We were able to see the model remotely over a video call which was super helpful and all-in delivery time from the warehouse was less than 2 weeks. John came to our home to connect a sofa bought in a different city but of a brand he carries. He and his cohort figured out a very difficult connection issue and did a superb job.
