I've been using this park for nearly 20 years but it was only since I've had kids that I have come to really appreciate it. There is quite a lot of wildlife for them to see and they love coming to feed the ducks. While they love the play area they're getting a bit bored of it and I would like to see them give it a bit of a facelift and really add to the obstacles and things to do for slightly older kids. I have frequented Rookery Park on the other side of Erdington and they have a much more robust and adventurous play area for older children that I would like to see the council implement throughout the city. However, there is still lots of fun to be had especially in the wild area across the road in which my daughters love to climb the trees and do some exploring. The park has lots of areas for picnics in the summer and is generally well kept and has a pleasant atmosphere. Although I will say that you have to pick your picnic spot carefully as there is quite a bit of duck, swan and geese poo all over the place

Standard Erds ! Best place on the manor to grab a stretch and stroll. Great for kids, younguns, couples, seniors and pretty much anyone really. Perfect also for any brave lockdown hermits among us, who have somehow someway, finally found the energy to park and jog. Distance and duration not important at first, of course! 'RunningMan' "Ten minutes, I collapsed, finished, faddish plans man, I vanished home for a can of Guinness" JcH Jokes aside though....... Respect and appreciation Birmingham Your efforts during this last lockdown have been absolutely necessary, but no less admirable!!! We have protected our most vulnerable residents and in the spirit of Britain's real greatness we have done it with a smiling stiff upper lip! Covid hasn't got a prayer when we care and share. We will always win. Brilliant to see groups of humans enjoying the sunshine together today. Brum Loves you All p.s. To all who have passed: May You All Rise In Glory At The Last

Nice walk round. You can feed the ducks. Need a licence to fish in the lake. There is a lovely local park for young children, with benches to sit on
Playground
Great for young children. Good playground equipment. A slide and climbing frame. Two sets of swings. One for babies and the other for older children. There is also a separate court for basketball/football etc
Dog-friendliness
Great for dog walks around the big lake and around the park.
Picnic area
There is grassed area and a large bench with a shelter attached for families to sit

Overall quite pleasant place providing basketball/football combined asfalt pitch in playground area together with swings, seesaw and etc, two asfalt tennis courts (surface is alright, that massively want cleaning plant debris). Track around a lake (Koi fish once spotted in it) with island in the middle of, where a lot of birds nests (cormorant, grey heron). People permanently neglecting instructions to not to feed birds with bread (a bit of a mould didn't harm anybody yet) and teaching kids that what's on signage is disregardable.

Such a lovely park to hang out . Not much parks around here so this one's a win. There's an area for kids to play. The walk around the lake is scenic and I think is really good for mental health. If you live nearby, take a stroll around it and let nature heal u. It can get littered occasionally but there's nothing we can do about it except to not litter the park or do litter picking if you can. I see a lot of dog walkers here, so that must mean it's a good place for dogs as well.

A good place with a beautiful lake with a lot of bird life. There is a children play area with swings, slide and climbing frames etc. There is a walking track around the lake which is also used by cyclists. There are tennis courts and there used to be a bowling green in the Brookvale Park but hasn't been maintained for a long time now. This park is very popular with locals specially in the summer time when various fun activities are held during the summer school holidays.

  • Ardy

Lovely innercity nature spot off the Slade Rd. Has quite a large lake that you can walk/run round. I'd say it's also a decent lil 1st casual meet up/date where you can walk/sit and chat and get to know each other.
Playground
There is a kids playground area on one corner of the park. And I've seen dog walkers. There's lots of green space to put a blanket down and bring a picnic (don't think I've seen tables there).

Brookvale Park, Erdington Birmingham holds a special place in my heart. It's a great place to take a walk, or cycle, or sit for an hour or two. The park has a large lake which is suitable for fishing. At the far end of the park there's a children's playground to keep the nippers amused too, and a shop not far away, which is handy for drinks, sweets and ice creams. Brookvale Park is Brilliant. Brookie rules ok ! ☯️☀️☮️

My electric scooter got robbed here, a group of teens came up to me with a knife, I won't mention skin colour because you will know without me telling you, just be aware, keep safe don't take bikes here or electric scooters, there's a group of them always there waiting to rob you. I called the police, they couldn't even help because God knows how far they rode away with my £750 worth scooter! ‍♂️

Such a lovely place to go to, but it is massively let down by what I can only call idiots on motorbikes who use the pathways as their race track. The play ground is nice and clean but can be very crowded on a nice day. But due to the top reason you should never allow your children to wonder to far from you and that is why I have marked it 3 out of 5 stars instead of the 5 stars it should have.

Its a nice little bit of greenery, with a lake, and a little bit of wildlife, amongst the cars and concrete of Erdington. Walkways/paths fairly 'high traffic' at peak times, understandably so, as it is right by a school, but only noted as its not often ideal to walk your dog at these times, ive found, as it isnt huge. But it is pleasent for a stroll, especially on a sunny quiet afternoon

Brookvale Park is a beautiful park situated in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. This 27-hectare (67-acre) park has a variety of different areas to explore, including a large lake, several playing fields, woodland, and children's playgrounds. The park also offers a variety of entertaining and leisure activities, including a café and a children's play area.

  • Nathaniel Thompson

Great park with plenty to do, if you just want to have a nice scenic walk, run a few miles around the lake, play tennis, basketball play bowls or bring the kids to the play area this is the place for you. Plenty of free parking for everyone and it's always a friendly place. You wouldn't believe something as beautiful as this park could be in the inner city.

Little gem in Erdington. A lot of swans, ducks and birds in the lake. It would be a nice place to do boating. We did a trail there too. It’s quite a nice walk around the lake. About 1 miles around. There are a couple of herons living in the park. There is a playground in the park too. Children can have good play there. Free parking around the park.

  • Imtiaz Farooq

It's the gift that keeps on giving. I highly recommend this for walks at any time of the day. The photos show it particularly fantastic in warm weather but prepare for a very crowded park. Considering its not surrounded by the most pleasant neighbourhood, this is an underrated gem and deserves to be on everyone's list of things to do.

  • graham landon

Brookvale Park, Erdington in the middle of Birmingham is a little gem. It is perfect for families with children. There is lots of ducks, geese, swans and other animals and birds. The squirrels are very friendly and will take food from your hand. The large lake is perfect for a refeshing stroll. Don't miss this gem.

  • AMD

It's as I remembered it from when I was a child. The grounds look as if it is still maintained. It's not the biggest of park area but nice to walk round....
Playground
Had a big family picnic/gathering there. So while the adult was talking the younger kids played in the playground and on basketball court.

  • F Sidebottom

Birminghams answer to Disneyland, a place of wonder and delight Best to get here early to avoid disappointment, superb tennis courts where you will often see Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg playing, my favourite was the wooden bench, the grass and the Duck, but there is much much more to see.

  • Hannah Warwick

A well used local park, a large lake with ducks and swans. Tennis courts and a basketball / football pitch and play park. Its surprising how run down the play park is considering how much the local community use it. They also have sailing on a Saturday and a previously used bowling green.

  • Ant Pid89

Nice lake to exercise around, not exactly picturesque. There is a children's play area and a basketball court, also at certain times of the year, it's possible to rent little boats to go on the lake. There is no allocated parking so will have to park on the roads surrounding the park.

  • Sean Connelly

Staying locally for business and needed some green open space and found this place on the map. Just what I needed to have a walk round the lake and stretch my legs (1 mile round). Saw lots of ducks, swans and the odd Heron on the water. Parking is just on one of the side roads.

  • peter flack

Nice place....i live here....great little park with a fairly big lake...about a 20 minute walk round....good for kids on bikes etc
Playground
Clean but a bit small
Dog-friendliness

  • Pardeep Janjua

Brookvale park is a lovely park to stroll ride bikes or go for a run. It is 1mile around the lakeside walkway or slightly further walking round the outside path. It has a large playground area for the kids to play. There are shops within a few minutes walking distance.

  • Carpe diem

Great place to walk around user friendly for prams. So much wild life to watch. We was lucky to watch a young family squirrels running around the trees. Few times they ran up to usm just inches away. Best never to try touch wildlife.. but it was a magical moment.

  • DJ TopKat

Beautiful part of Erdington. Depending on where you sit you could easily be somewhere else. There's a path all around the lake which is great for Joggers, dog walkers or just a general walk about. There's also a boating club but am not sure if its private or not.

  • Nassim Ahmed

Lovely place to do your early morning walk there is a lake where you can walk round there ducks there are swans which is nice to see children can take there bikes to ride they also have a basket ball Pitch and also playground with swings roundabout slide

  • Mstr Jangulli

This is the park put in the background of the new housing estate photos in Erdington in order to lure the buyers. I must say that this park played some role in my decision to buy my new home. I found this park by chance two years after I have moved in.

  • feroz shaikh

Lovely place for a stroll , only downside is they have closed the parking due to antisocial behaviour in the evenings . Instead of dealing with the antisocial behaviour they just decided to close the parking area permanently even during the day time .

  • Hassan Ahmed

Brook Vale Park is a good place to have a morning walk with good scenery. Their a few people who walk their dogs because it has a nice round circuit around the pond. And the pond has allot of swans and ducks if your the type to feed bread.

  • Matthew Rea

Nice inner city park, good for dog walking, Feeding ducks, jogging bike riding for small children as it has a nice wide path that goes all the way round the lake that is one mile long also has a nice litttle play ground. Good for nature

  • Valerie Duffy

Pleasant place with a large lake, childrens play area and multi purpose ball area. I would have rated it higher if it had restrooms. The grass is cut regularly. Popular with dog walkers who do pick up after their pets …

  • liliana b

Avoid the park when is no natural light outside. Black man is walking around to attack. Statistics on gov showed a lot of crimes there. A lot of people has been attacked. The police is aware but is still dangerous.

  • Andy Fotheringham

Enjoyable little park with walkable and wheelchair friendly path around the lake which is fishable and has disabled access peg. Lake could be kept up a bit more even under Covid-19 but I’m probably being to picky.

  • Mario Romano

Had a nice relaxing walk around te lake. Very quiet and peaceful except the top end by the playground where a lot of teenagers were hanging out. I had no hassle from them, but they were ather boisterous.

  • Monica A

Family friendly, relaxed place for all:) whether you go for a walk, a run or sit and chill! Theres a play area for the kids, and even a tennis court, lovely to walk around the water, good atmosphere:)

  • Brendan Callaghan

It is a really nice park. Surrounding a sizable lake which in winter is home to large numbers of geese and swans. The path around is about a mile so a good and pleasant place to walk a dog or to jog

Playground
Good playground that could do with an update

  • hasrafhan

Excellent place to have a walk, there is a nice play area for children. Only advise would be not to go there in the evening as it can have some young chavs hanging around the basketball area.

  • Ian Hosker

There is plenty to see with all the trees wild life, the lake full of swans and ducks. The squirrels are very tame. They actually come up to you. For a small park it is full of interest

Great place to walk around the lake and grassy space to lie down and sunbathe. Childrens play park and a football/basketball court. 2 free tennis courts

Not a bad park, but there does seem to be more litter than there used to be. There are plenty of bins, it's obviously the idiots who frequent the place.

  • marcus lewis

Lovely walk round the lake, good path and good access, corner shop near by. Council have let it go, beautiful house and boat club will be in ruins soon

  • Josda Dan

Lots of trees around the lake teeming with wildlife. Real fresh air and adequate open space for picnics, games or when the weather's fine, sunbathing.

  • SAJEDMUNIR

Nice walking area plenty of trees for shade and a big pond takes about half an hour to walk round the park or an hour if you take the extended route.

A lovely area to walk around. Just a shame about the rubbish being left around the pathways. Also the bins are full and overflowing, such a shame.
