My wife passed away a few years ago. Last year around Christmas(December of 2022) I decided to go through her old jewelry and take the stuff I hadn't given away to friends and family in to see what I could get for it. I dealt with Randolph Perry on that day. He was very kind, gracious and easy to talk to and deal with. He made my day and I walked away with FAR MORE money than I had anticipated. I neglected to do a review on that day... but I was once again in Brownlee Jewelers today(3/3/23) with the last of my wife's broken jewelry. I had a few chains, bracelets and earrings I didn't take in the first visit. Randolph actually remembered me, which made me feel great, and he once again was professional, caring and easy to deal with. I once again got far more for my jewelry that I was expecting. So to sum it up...I was in twice to sell old gold and was rewarded twice with exceptional customer service and more money for the gold than I was expecting. I am a very happy customer and would recommend Brownlee Jewelers and Randolph Perry to all my friends and anyone needing to sell broken or old gold jewelry they're no longer wearing. I felt appreciated, and I was the one doing the selling!! Thanks Brownlee Jewelers and Randolph Perry for being there when I needed you to be.

These guys are matures that brocade themselves like everyone is out to steal the mediocre pieces. I went to this store on two occasions just out of convenience to have a bracelet resized because it was too short. The first time I went understandably so they told be they could not duplicate the links and I had to get the links from the manufacturer in order for them to resize. After obtaining these links and returning to the store. The new excuse was we cannot resize this jewelry because there is no opening on the links and that I need to send it back to where I bought it from. They also proceeded to discourage me telling me that no other jeweler would be able to fix my jewelry. If I had listened to them I would be stuck between a rock and hard place because the manufacturer was overseas. After consulting with another jewelry store in the are they were able to rectify my problem in less than an hour and at a much more reasonable cost. This store and its personal are lazy and dismissive. I am shocked they’re still in business unless it’s a skin color discriminatory issue which quite frankly doesn’t surprise me. Anyways don’t take your jewelry to these guys opt for something else in the area. Concord Mills Mall is a great place to start.

I went in to try and get my new watch sized to my wrist, a few links needed to be taken out. I want to start off by saying that the man who helped me was incredibly nice and helped me right away. Unfortunately he admitted that he wasn’t familiar with the brand Shinola, which is fairly surprising for someone with watch experience to say, but I assumed he could size it none the less. He has some issues and some of the links were extra stubborn. He said he was sorry that he couldn’t get them out after maybe 40 minutes or so. I understood and went home. It wasn’t until today that I saw how marked up he had made my watch trying to get the links apart. I noticed he was being a litttle rough but thought it was normal. I’m pretty upset that my brand new, never before worn watch now has some scratches and dents. They’re not HUGE so I’ll get over it but not the quality I was expecting. I’m sure if he was familiar with the brand he would have known to be more careful, this watch is more than $800. Update: after bringing it to a real watch repair shop they were quite amazed by the damage he managed to do. I recommend Sumpters Jewlers, they were able to size it within 5 minutes.

When I went into the store to pick up my repair, the store clerk asked me to remove my baseball cap. I try to look presentable at all times, but was in a hurry and did not have time to fix my hair before leaving home, hence the hat. I explained that I was just picking up a repair and the clerk told me that I would have to leave the store if I refused to remove my cap for safety reasons. I am not sure what sort of weapon he thought I had hidden under my tight fitting hat. I was not even wearing a mask which would have been a better option if I were there to rob the store. I was told that those were the rules and I told him that this is the last time I would be shopping in this store. I was made to feel like a common criminal not like a valued customer. Sometimes a little common sense goes a long way. I suppose once I removed my hat, the clerk felt completely safe and never contemplated that I may have a gun in the purse I was carrying. Perhaps Brownlee needs to reconsider their "rules" before running off other customers. And by the way, my bracelet was not repaired as initially requested - with the same store clerk.

I would NEVER do business with these unprofessional people! We had to drop off three watches and given a three day estimate as to when they would have the batteries installed. Should have been the first red flag to us, but we agreed to wait. They never called to tell us they were ready for pickup. They individually bagged the three items ($200-400-$690 watches. Two were brand new, still covered in plastic. When I picked them up, they were all in the same bag, metal bands watches with my brand new wooden watch. They never replaced the battery or shortened the links in the wooden watch as they said they would, instead, damaged my $260 watch by scratching it in multiple places. They also stripped out the screw to the battery cover, and I cannot get another jeweler to attempt to change the battery. Guess what, they still charged us for doing nothing but damaging said watch! They obviously did not know how to remove the battery cover or links and are not qualified for this type of work. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Poor service and damaged my items.

I absolutely love this place! My mom first introduced me to the downtown location when I was younger, there the owner was the nicest man to us. The service is the best at this location (University), I only shop here for my jewelry needs. I brought a beautiful (well 2) ring and have taken it to get serviced and have never had a problem with any of the staff. A few weeks ago I took my ring to be serviced, I keep losing a stone and pay for the service) This time the staff told me I didn’t have to pay anything. I was overwhelmed, I love this ring as well as the awesome service. When the staff told me my ring would be ready, it was ready.

I have made purchases and replaced batteries with Brownlee Jewelers at Town Center and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always polite, knowledgeable, friendly and you feel welcomed in the store. Geographically Brownlee Jewelers is in a great place, I hope they remain there for sometime as it’s one of those simple luxuries where you don’t have to visit a mall to make a beautiful and meaningful purchase by going out of your way, thank you so much for your consistent service Brownlee Jewelers!!!

I highly recommend Mehdi Motavasseli, Salesperson # 205 who is located at the Brownlee Jewelers on University City Blvd. I needed to resize my rings. Medhi is very knowledgeable regarding good quality, clear diamonds. I appreciated more than anything his professional demeanor and how mild mannered he is. Recently got a new watch. I did not realize that I needed to get the band re-sized as I was used to buying bands for my smart watch, which were adjustable. Went to drop off a ring to get fixed. 10am supposed to be open. I had to work at 10:30. Was not ready to open for another 5min. I'm sorry I couldn't wait. The team needs to be ready at opening. Mehdi have Great customer service. I took my ring there to have resize. I do t think they resize the ring. It’s still to small for my finger. I’m have to take it some where to get it resize. I paid to much anyway there. Think I can get it done cheaper some where else.
