I the absolute worst experience at Bruu. Let me explain... My mom and I come to Kansas City to spend time with my three (teenage) nieces/ nephew. We take them here because they want bubble tea. We arrive and are in awe of the beautiful atmosphere. Seriously its gorgeously laid out and decorated. However, we go to order and the lady at the counter rudely stated we had to use the kiosk. Okay, she could have been more friendly about it but no big deal. We proceed to order 4 drinks. 1. Cheese Milk tea with tapioca. 2. Pumpkin spice with crystal. 3. Strawberry with rainbow crystal 4. Jasmine tea with strawberry. Before ordering we ask the lady about the bursting boba beads, as thats what 2 kids wanted. She told us the crystal boba was the bursting boba. ( again, with annoyed demeanor and a rude tone) We finish and pay the $42. We get our drinks excitedly after taking pictures with the cute elf cutout. They look AMAZING. We all try our drinks. We check the receipt on the drinks making sure we all picked up the right ones -cause there was no way we ALL thought our drinks that we ordered per our taste were disgusting, right? Wrong. All of the boba beads were chewy like tapioca. I walked over to ask the lady if she accidentally put the wrong ones in. She informed me that they didn't carry bursting beads. THEN WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME YOU DID Whatever - so I proceeded to taste all of their drinks. The pumpkin has SO MUCH syrup it gave me an immediate stomach ache. Trash. The jasmine tasted like I chewed a mouth full of CLOVES. the strawberry was okay, except it has chewy boba. And the cheese was as bland as drinking white milk. I took all but the strawberry up to the counter ( still completely full) and let the lady know they were absolutely awful and we would not be drinking them. I asked her where she wanted me to toss them as they were full of liquid. She pointed to the trash can and didn't say a word! WHAT? .... WAIT... WHAT!!!??? No I'm sorry you didn't like them. No refund? Just throw it away in the trash. I wasted $30+ But I learned to never step foot in there again. As we left there was a couple about to walk in. I steered them far away, they appreciate that, as NO ONE wants to waste money and be treated like garbage. Do better.

Bruú-hoohoo, could have been a much better experience. The store front is cute and the interior is decorated neatly, a very bright and functional space for its size. However, the low star rating is due to three things: 1. Drink taste 2. Lack of customization 3. Poor customer service. For the first, the brown sugar boba is chewy and pretty good. But there is little difference in taste between the variety of drinks, the milk is used heavily and sugars (even for low sugar orders) are still too sweet. Which brings me to point #2, that there are almost no customizations available, according to one of the employees. When trying to order a drink without boba, we were told it’s “pre-made” so not allowed. Then, we asked for a hot drink; one employee said there are none, one said that there is only one. When finally ordering a “grape fruit” drink, it turns out to be “grapes fruit” which, we were not told, is entirely different? Either way, they do not take cash, so make sure to bring a card or use Apple Pay. Lastly, with all that had transpired, the employees were opposite ends of the spectrum when it came to customer service. The register worker was polite and attempted to answer some questions, but another would interrupt and provide a contrasting answer. It would then escalate and maybe, end with no real conclusion other than, “choose another drink”. The atmosphere was tense, though not many customers were there. It’s possible they’re in training, but I question what the training is like or who the trainer is. Overall, was not very impressed, which is disappointing. Wish you the best in improvement, unlikely to return again.

Hands down the best bubble tea I ever had! The owners are very friendly and lovely to talk to. So we order a few drinks to try on the menu because their selection of teas are so unique from other bubble tea places around KC. The photo with 3 teas are the following: Anchan Strawberry Latte with Rainbow bubble, Strawberry Marble Latte with Rainbow bubble and Brown sugar pearl with milk. The Anchan Strawberry is an delicious bubble tea with a floral taste. The Starberry Marble tea is a 2.0 version for bubble tea. It's more of a smoothie with Boba but still yummy to enjoy on a hot summer day! The Brown Sugsr milk tea is a new classic that many customers would enjoy! The second photo with only 2 teas are the following: Strawberry Marble Latte with Rainbow bubble and the newly Mango Cheesecake. The Starberry is like the mixed creation of bubble tea and a smoothie together. A delicious treat to have. The Mango Cheesecake brings in a new competitor to the table for ice cream desserts! This is super delicious and very creamy to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings! Please support local businesses Definitely will be back for more teas!

We had service issues. I asked for them to not seal the drink. The girl agreed. I was then told to move away from the counter by someone else because i was too close to the back. I did. In that short time the server making my drink forgot what I requested. Nor could I go over there and remind her because I was told to stand away. Later I handed them the drink and asked them to just dump out the rest because it was undrinkable due to how bitter it was. They went ok and just did it. They did not question it or ask if I wanted something different. It isn't a store requirement to fix an issue, but it's the indifference that surprised me. I would have thought they would have asked more questions. We had 3 drinks. The other two drinks were acceptable. Both were 4 star drinks. Mine I started it liking a lot, but the more I drank it, the more bitter it got. I realized after I need to mix it, but they never said anything about it so I didn't know. Also if you ask for less ice they will just give you less drink. They are located in the plaza. They are right across from one of the free parking lots in the plaza.

1,000,000/10! This is the BEST boba place!! Since being introduced to it in the summer of 2021, I come here constantly and have introduced several friends and family members to it. I am a fairly picky person, so it has been hard to find a boba place that serves exactly what I like and Bruu has it. My favorites are the Strawberry Marble and Grapes Fruit milk lattes with the rainbow crystal bubble and I would recommend these types of drinks to people who don't love the strong taste of tea. Aside from the amazing drinks, the staff is fantastic. I have never once gone into Bruu and had a poor experience. Sometimes the staff is working hard, but considering how popular their shop is, it is completely understandable that they are busy! When they are a little slower, it is so fun to chat with them and ask how their days are going. Our favorite barista is definitely Nycha! She is SO sweet and always greets us as we walk in and makes our drinks so quickly. I could not recommend this boba shop more! I definitely will be coming for a very long time :)

My first time here was not very good cause the drink taste so sweet. But I still give it a try this time and the drink and service turn out more horrible. The milk tea cream brulee taste nothing like tea, instead taste more like soy milk. I know it gonna be sweet so I ask them at the counter to adjust the sugar level but they said no. After I got the drink, the sweetness of this drink was beyond my expectation so I again ask them for cup of water and they literally said I have to buy their water bottle at the machine. Is a cup of water too much to ask for in a cafe shop??? How can this business still run while their drink and service are horrible??? I read many comments and all were saying how awful the customer service in this place and it was TRUE.

Wonderful place to enjoy creative and authentic bubble tea the staff is quick and accurate in their creations every time I get tea from here they have a new and exciting set of choices. I came in with my daughter and everyone was greeted but us. They then proceeded to clean and sweep around us and still said not one word to us. They gave us a feeling like we were not wanted and they was ready to close. Then a big family came in and was greeted with a warm welcome. There was only a difference that was noticeable and that was race. These establishments have to do better with inclusion so that we won’t refer to race as being the reason for not being treated like every other paying customer. I also asked for a business card and they said none was available when I could clearly see them on the table behind the counter. My only hope in sending this review is that a lesson is learned on how to properly greet customers no matter color or creed.

First time trying Bruu Cafe & I wasn’t disappointed! I tried Brown sugar bubble with milk & my daughter had Cream Brulee with milk. These 2 drinks are very similar but the one my daughter had was very creamy & tasty! We’re planning to come back soon this week! The lady working there was very patient when it comes to questions since we had no idea what we’re doing. She helped us picked out our drinks & we absolutely LOVED it! The atmosphere was also nice & relaxing. It’s quite small but doesn’t feel uncomfortable to sit there while enjoying the drinks. 10/10! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!

We were not expecting a boba drink shop in the middle of Country Club Plaza area. Surprisingly found it and we were super happy! All four drinks we had were delicious and I wanted to say this place is the best in Nebraska and Kansas areas! Erica was very friendly and courteous at taking our orders! In addition, she was very patient and explained diff drinks for us so we could make better decisions. Highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area! BTW you can customize sugar levels at this place. If you don’t want too sweet then make sure you adjust the sweetness level when they take your orders. I think same thing with the ice. If you don’t know for sure about the ice & sweetness just ask them for the recommendation. Enjoy!

As someone who has had plenty of opportunities to travel and even live in other areas within the US, this has got to be the best boba I have ever come across. I have had amazing bubble tea around America, including in San Francisco and LA and Vegas has a few really good shops as well. But this place honestly beats them all. The presentation is phenomenal and that’s matched with high quality, delicious drinks. It’s unbelievable that I can find such a place right here in the heart of the Midwest. The only disclaimer I have is that as of now they do not offer alternative milk choices. Although this isn’t a bother for me, obviously this can be an issue if you’re vegan or dairy-free or lactose-intolerant.

Great tasting boba from friendly and fast service. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and answers to any questions about the drinks. Ordering two fruit boba juices were easy with the cashier helping us and asking about sweetness and ice level. Drinks were made quickly and according to order with amazing taste and chewy boba. I'm really happy to find a cute little boba shop to satisfy my craving.

I decided to try this new boba place from my usual one. I’ve been here a couple times but both times service was not very good. It took 20 minutes to get my drink and I was the only person in the store. I also ordered a mixed berry latte and it did not have any of the syrups that were advertised in the pictures but rather was just sweetened milk. There was also very little boba in the cup when I ordered extra boba. Most of all, the cup was only filled 2/3 of the way. I even came another time to see if it was just made wrong one day but it was not good either day. Will not be going back again.

I love their teas and the Thai iced coffee, but today I tried the The Taiwan Toast and it might be the single best thing I've ever eaten in my entire life. I was one bite in and wanted to order another one! It is buttery, sweet, toasty, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I'm mad that I have never had it before and mad that I can't have it every day for forever. It was so good, I got a little emotional about it-not even joking!

Great location as a boba drink after or when shopping just sounds like a good idea. The interior spacing is nice with comfortable seating. Had signature milk tea with brown sugar boba and Assam black tea. The milk tea is a bit too sweet even though I asked for 25% sugar level. The milk tea has a richer flavor due to the brown sugar. The black tea, on the other hand, does not have much tea flavor in it. And the air is not well shaken and blended into the drink. Instead, the air bubbles float on the top, which took up space and made the drink smaller than expected. Overall an okay place for boba drinks if you’re just looking for a sweet drink.

I never considered myself much of a bubble tea lover, until I tried bubble tea in this place. I came here with a friend and it was the best decision we made that day. The bubble teas and the Boba teas are absolutely testy. They have many veracity of selections from fruity yo hazelnuts. The strawberry latte with rainbow bubbles were my favorite. I also had a sip of my friends drink of peach bubble tea and that was also great. Overall a great place to try in the middle of plaza area.

Very disappointing. Loyal customer, come here at least 3-4 times a week. Most of the time, drinks are made okay. However, today when I ordered the (Hot) Taro Latte I received half cup of drink rather a full cup. Price was paid for full not half. The drink was not made correctly and tasted very oddly gross. I have been drinking this specific drink ever since it has been out at least 6 times already. But this time, it looks like the drinks wasn't made by the normal staff but by the cashier lady.

The best Boba Tea shop in the KC area. I have tried several in the city, and this place captures it all. Not only is the staff awesome, friendly, and welcoming, but they also have their recipe set perfectly. Every drink is perfect and the new cheese tea was shockingly good! This has become my GO TO place for boba tea! The Royal Premium Milk Tea ($5.25) was great and the Honeydew Niu Niu Latte with Rainbow Bubble definitely tasted like honeydew! What was astonishing was how quickly they made the milk teas. I think while I was ordering the people behind the counter heard and began the right away because after I was done ordering the teas were done within 30 seconds. I love how they decorated the place too because I feel like almost everything in there is like a photo op for my drinks.

Late review: This is a minimal bubble tea shop in Japanese style. My friend wants to stop here because she is interested in this type of business. The shop is not too big, but they do a good job of decorating. It makes this place look cute and cozy. I'm not going to be able to take a picture inside because it's full of customers. I bought the drinks without ice and drove for 4.5 hours back home. All drinks still taste as good as the ones I drink in the shop.

FLAVORED TAPIOCA BALLS. People, this isn’t the cheap popping juice balls like at other boba places. These are chewy, flavored boba balls. I had lychee and mango(I think) so far, and they are amazing. This is the only place that I’ve ever seen have this. All the popular boba places in Seattle don’t have this either. It’s what popping boba wishes it could be. This place is raising the bar for boba in KC, and I love it.

Pay attention KC! Finally, some decent boba in the KC metro area. If you’re familiar with the trending chain in SoCal called 7 Leaves, this location rivals that quality and authenticity. The interior is definitely flashier than most boba chains, even the best ones, but that’s not what matters. The menu seems focused on what they know best, and the flavors prove it. The Taro was perfection and the Thai tea was fresh. Add sago for a more traditional twist on the boba.

The drinks are so refreshing..the taste is immaculate! I love the aftertaste after sipping into the drinks. The vibe of this place is amazing,love the kiosks and the many options to choose from! I definitely will be returning to try out other items.

Great quality and lots of varieties of bubble tea to choose from! It is a cashless payment and service is quick! There are small seating area in the cafe. My favorite drink is Taro latte bubble tea, 50% sweet and less Ice. There is no parking space in the front store so plan to walk there or park at the parking garage across the store.

This is hands down the best bubble tea in the Kansas City area. There are so many flavors to choose from here. Some of our favorites are the taro with regular bubbles, Anchan Strawberry with rainbow bubbles, strawberry latte, and creme brulee. You can customize your drink on bubbles and sweetness. They make their bubbles fresh throughout the day. Plan on ordering ahead or waiting in line. It is worth the wait.

Delicious bubble tea! If you're into bubble teas, this is a must try! Ordering was a breeze at the self-serve kiosk. Service was quick, and I enjoyed my mango lychee bubble tea!

Best bubble tea I ever had. I ordered their signature bubble tea and strawberry rainbow tea. They were so good. I picked 75% sweet which I think it's perfect for bubble tea. The strawberry rainbow was so refreshing. I liked the rainbow jelly that came with the drink. Staff were nice and friendly. Also the line moved pretty quick.. I really recommend everyone to try here. You're not gonna regret.

Super cute boba shop with unique and interesting flavors! My sister and I got two strawberry flavors (one with butterfly pea tea) and both with crystal jelly. It was delicious and a good deal for $6-$7. You can even upgrade 50 cents to get a cute branded bottle. We loved our drinks so much that we came back the next week to try new flavors!

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place out ever since they opened! I discovered them on instagram!! And it definitely did justice. Try it out. Cozy inside and OG boba was amazing! Just right!

Aesthetically, the store is nice though on the small side. The place can seat a max of 8 grown adults comfortably. My drink, tropical breeze, was average, nothing special. I found it too sweet even at 50% sugar level. Service was robotic and transactional. Even when the worker told me to order at the kiosk she sounded robotic.

A fun, different take on boba. Service was great and the decor was cute. The sweetness was very different between the lemon green tea and peach tea although both 50% sweetness. I would go back if I wanted a refreshing drink, but not if I was craving boba.

Pro: Cute place and cute atmosphere Conssss: pricy and flavorless drink, and rude service (one of them) I can’t believe that I spent $7.25 on their Yuzu with vitamin C, and it doesn’t taste any better than the Yuzu jam in a jar that you can literally find at any Asian market.

Came here with low expectations and my mom and I were pleasantly surprised. Thankfully they don’t heavily rely on premade powders. They do, by contrast, offer gradations of sweetness that is independent of flavor. All to say: great quality bubble tea.
