Have no idea where these reviews are coming from, but my experience with them was just horrible. First of all, they have the worst cancellation policy ever. They require 4 weeks notice??? I asked him if my G license would be OK to drive the 15 seater (only had total of 11 people, but wanted the 15 seater for the space). He said it was OK, as long as I did not exceed 11 people in the van. So I made the reservations. After a couple of weeks, I saw a post online regarding large vans (was googling routes for PEI road trip) and saw that it was illegal for a G license to drive a 15 seater van. I googled the restrictions of G license, but it was not very clear as to the total number of people, so I called again to confirm the information and they said that they never had problems before. Due to the number of reservations and the information that I was looking for the trip, I just left it at that, thinking that he would know what he is talking about and would provide accurate information to his customers. A week after, when I was just finishing all my plans and reservations, I saw another post, how the police will impound the car on the spot for not having the proper license. So I called back to verify and this time he says that a customer did get a vehicle impounded in Quebec and they were just stranded there. I asked why he did not tell me this before and he said, "Oh, as long as you don't get caught, you'll be fine" What da He knew that I was going to PEI with 10 other people and if I did get pulled over and the police does impound the vehicle, what was I supposed to do? I asked him that once I verify the information with the Ministry of Transportation that I will be cancelling the reservation, as I cannot take any chances on getting stranded. He said find out first and we'll work something out. I called and verified that a class G license can only drive a vehicle with a maximum of 9 seater. I called back and explained to him and his response was "the ministry of transportation gives a different answer everytime and depends on who you talk to" What da I told him that I can't take a chance and I would have to cancel the reservation. Considering that there was some fault in my part (not verifying the information), but the fact that he provided false information, I would be willing to pay for 1 day rental (around $180 + tax including insurance). He then just started referring me to the cancellation policy and charged me $500. I called the credit card company and explained the situation, but they advised me that since the only agreement that was documented was their cancellation policy, it would be hard to fight the charges. I had enough headaches with looking for other means of transportation, so I just left it at that. I guess I learned the hard way. What ever you do, don't bother with this company. They will try to fraud you and provide false information! Get everything in writing from them!!! They will not keep any of their word!!!!

One of the best rental places I have ever used. My family of 10 needed a big van for three day trip, everywhere else was either too expensive or they required ridiculous amount of deposits. I saw buddy’s car rental and figured I should contact them. From the beginning till the end they treated me like a fellow human being. They Gave me advices, gave me a very good deal, also the lady that I dealt with was very polite. I was able to pick up the vehicle well before the agreed upon time. I paid a much lower fee than the other companies and I also paid less deposit fee, which I got back as soon as I returned the van. I went over the mileage (mins you, they give you plenty of km) and they gave me a nice discount on it as well. The van I rented was a Ford transit 350. It was in mint condition, and also came fully cleaned and sanitized. Very smooth drive. Try not to use the AC too much as it would save you tons of gas. The seats were leather and were comfortable. The audio system was amazing and it came with Bluetooth. The van didn’t consume much fuel. All in all, it was a very comfortable van suited for a family trip. Price was at least 300$ cheaper than most companies I contacted. Deposit was 500$ cheaper than couple of companies that I contacted. You really don’t need a Mercedes sprinter for a long family trip as it would cost you much more if something does occurs during the trip. All in all, it was a very pleasant trip, and a rental experience. Thank you guys again!

The worst car rental service ever. Got 11 passenger van for 4 days. Got the van and it was dirty as hell. The whole van wreaked with smoke and rotten eggs. I told them that this was not acceptable and would like another one and he offered me the 15 passenger for extra cost. I asked him why I would pay extra if the van that I originally reserved was too dirty? He basically told me to take it or leave it. I told him that I was going to cancel the reservation, but he said deposit not refundable. Spent about 30minutes trying to put some sense into him, but he was too much of an idiot, so I just gave up and took it. About 15 minutes on the road, cars started honking at me on the 401. I pulled over to check the vehicle and one of the tires was getting flat. Called the company to let them know, he said that it is the renters responsibility. At that point, I was too scared to drive the van, as I don't know what else might happen. So I just returned the van the next day. Long story short, he charged me the full cost of a brand new tire ($220), although the tires were very old and had very little treads on them. Now I have to request my credit card company to fight the charges. The worst experience ever...

It seems this owner is completely oblivious or purposefully endangering life. I was looking to rent a car here and the way he is replying to every review alone put me of renting at this company. I can only suggest that you get of google and start actually caring about the service you provide more than the google review. Hard to believe that every bad review is the customers fault!!! You see what I mean. Having never stepped a foot in his door and never met anyone from this company the reply from the owner is below. To accuse me of having bad credit and using my friends credit card is beyond believe. I don't know you sir and I never rented a car with you!! Plus why do you think it's necessary to say I dont pay my bills on time? Do you live with me? This is what I mean by getting off the Google reviews. I hope customers can see your nasty reply and I hope they can avoid you at all cost!! You are a disgrace to your industry.

Last week we rented the 12 passenger van (2017 Ford Transit 350) from Buddy's Car Rentals. The van was ready to go when we went for pickup (8:30am). The van was super clean. My experience with them was awesome. I would highly recommend them and i will be going back to them whenever i need to rent a car/van. PS: Before making a reservation with Buddy's i had got a quote for a 12 passenger van from various other rental companies and all of them would require a full deposit with no refund on cancellation. Whereas Buddy's only required a 20% deposit upon reservation and they will refund if cancelled with enough notice (i think it was 4 or 5 weeks prior to pickup) otherwise no refund on the deposit. This policy seems reasonable and was the reason why i chose Buddy's.

Definitely overpriced van rental for 24hrs, poor quality vans, AC didn't work in the rear passenger area and response from owner was "that isn't true because it wasn't reported at the last rental" which he said after telling me it was in the shop for mechanical issues. I was in need of a van last-minute which they provided, but customer service was lacking and on the verge of condescending. There are better van rental spots in Toronto. Edit: please note the pettiness of the owner with the response below, I dropped the car off after 1am (with a flight pickup at 4:30am) and honestly forgot to refill the tank which I told him, paid the invoice in full the next day...be wary folks

Quality Poor to fair I find all these reviews are not close to be true, My experience was honestly not satisfied with the service, their cars are not safe and legally not allowed to be on the road, their prices are not cheap comparing to other companies, over all experience that I will never ever waste a penny on such a company. please be smart and trust the Better name companies its for your own safety. Buddy's Car Rental gave me an suv that had no 4X4 and also no windshield washer fluid and neither both wipers were working, AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON AND GAS GAUGE WASN'T WORKING, and the funny part is that the LIC PLATE WAS EXPIRED DURING THE PERIOD I LEASED THE VEHICLE

We visited Toronto from Atlanta, Georgia, USA and rented a 12-seater van from Buddy’s after a friend from Mississauga referred us to it. Buddy’s car rental gave us a complimentary ride from the airport, which was a pleasant surprise. We did a car inspection and were given the keys after we got to look at it. The car looked very new and clean. They kindly offered us water and answered any questions we had. When returning the van, it was a Canadian holiday but they went above and beyond by taking us back to the airport anyway. They were so respectful, honest and easy to contact. We will absolutely use this service again and recommend this to anyone in the area.

If you are tired of poor customer service, over-priced car rentals and need a refreshing change give these guys a call at Buddys! I was so VERY impressed at the very outset with their attention to customer detail, along with not only giving me a phenomenal rate on a weekly rental with a top notch car...but giving me some great free daily kms.also. If that wasn't enough, after dropping the car off to them and realizing I didn't have a ride to get back home to my own vehicle their staff cheerfully dropped me off at a convenient transit station out of the cold and rain. I rented a 11 seater van for going to states. They have competitive rates, good customerserice, new and clean vehicles. I would recommend Buddy's Car Rental to everyone. I see some people here writing big stories for bad experience, its just this guys fault who did not read all the terms and conditions before making his reservation (in case he did). It clearly says on their website "Please check drivers license requirements for driving large passenger vans". They told me the same and I checked with Service Ontario before making my reservation.

I will describe the last experience I had dealing with these guys. Rented a car for a few days and went to the States, they charged me a $50.00+ toll fee - which I never used. I showed them all my PAID receipts and requested a resolution - to which there was no response. I followed up with another email a week later. No response again. Is this your idea of customer service? More like how to lose good customers. Advice to anyone reading this - avoid them at all costs. Spend your money elsewhere.
