I've been with these folks for a solid 5 years now. I always like to wait a few years before writing reviews for places that you have to wait and see for the long haul. It is time. Doctor Burkhart is really thoughtful and is always listening out for your feedback. He makes sure you are comfortable during procedures and is always right on time to ask if you're doing ok. I found myself to be cured of my "dentist-anxiety" after being traumatized by many different doctors over the years. It's a real relief to be able to go in to see someone and not feel like your heart may stop at any moment! Cavities are a breeze and quick to get worked on. Crowns are such an easy process here. If you have ever been to an office that you have to go in to get the crown mold done and then come back when they get the mold sent back to their office, then you know what I'm talking about. It's a real pain in the behind to have to make two visits for one thing. Well that doesn't happen here because they have their own machine that makes crowns on the spot. One visit and one visit only for crowns!! I have had three root canals done of which one Dr. Burkhart did and two he referred me to a specialist. He worked on my front teeth that needed a root canal and sent me to another doctor for ones that were way in the back. He also referred me out to a specialist when I needed my tooth pulled and replaced with an implant. This is pretty much when I knew he was the real deal. I have had dentists try to pull my teeth and "white knuckle" me through the procedure. The outcome was very bad. They just don't have the tools, equipment, or sometimes skill to pull teeth I guess. I ended up having to go to an emergency appointment once due to pain and another time the dentist had left pieces of broken root/tooth in my gums. I had to have them surgically removed by the specialist soon after. I am so thankful that Dr. Burkhart knows exactly when and where to send you when he needs something more specialized done. I've never felt more safe putting my dental health in anyone else's hands before. I finally feel like a normal adult now who can go to a dentist and get their teeth cleaned, looked at, and worked on without breaking a sweat. I really can't say enough good things about this place but I'm going to keep going so I can tell you as much as I can!! The hygienist I go to is Chandra and she is always on top of things. She finds issues before they become a big one and gets it addressed asap. I have learned a lot of prevention techniques from her. She's kind of like a tooth fairy but she wants your teeth to stay in your mouth. She is the one who discovered that I was in need of a root canal pronto! If you're wondering how my anxiety is with her .. it's nonexistent. She also told me about a prescription tooth paste that has been helping me keep my teeth from getting cavities for quite a while now! To top all this off their facility is really comfy and clean. The lighting is always great here and they even have TV's in all the rooms so you can watch TV while you're getting worked on. They even provide you with bluetooth headphones! Every time I go in for a procedure I am given a tiny chapstick to ensure my lips don't get chapped and dry. They give you sunglasses so you don't get a bright light shining into your eyes while you're being worked on. I don't know about most people's experience but when it comes to mine and the medical field it has been a pretty terrible one. Unlike many (most) offices they have never dropped the ball. And if something even remotely similar happens they are so gracious about it (and also own it) and fix it very quickly. They always make you feel at home but don't worry because they also "get sh*t done"!! I'm actually worried about what would happen if my family were to move!!! Please please please go see these people if you need to get your teeth looked at and/or if you have anxiety like I do (did) with seeing dentists.

I’ve been going here for many years. The staff is super friendly. There doesn’t appear to be much turnover, because I’ve had the same dental hygienist for years. She’s so friendly, and does an excellent job. Every other dentist has located cavities each time. I’m wondering if that was bogus, because I’ve never had any cavities since switching to Dr. Burkhart. He sits down and asks questions and explains, in great detail, how to care for teeth. He even reminds you how to floss properly. He also helped me with an orthodontic issue when my old retainer broke. It was so nice to get it resolved with him versus having to find a new orthodontist. They are great communicators. Called me ahead of time to alert me of a delay, and I was able to grab lunch instead of wait in the waiting room. (That’s only happened once). They’re always been ready to see me within minutes of arriving. His fancy imaging machine confirmed some issues I assumed I had, and located some I didn’t know were existing. When my father, who was terminally ill, broke a tooth. Dr. Burkhart elected to file the sharp edge down versus put my father through a painful procedure. He was so kind and gentle with my dad, who was in a lot of pain due to the cancer. He treated him with dignity and respect and didn’t charge for the service.

My husband and I were referred to Burkhart by several of my coworkers who have gone to him for years. We both have always had positive experiences with Dr. Burkhart and the staff. It is one of the few dentist offices that I have actually enjoyed the front staff and hygienists. From past experiences, I have tolerated them, because I loved the dentist so much. It's very easy to book appointments. I love the text reminders you can opt to receive. The space is very clean and as comfortable as a dentist office can be. I like that they care about my full body health, and not just my mouth. They must take great notes, because they remember every detail. I feel that they are very thorough, and provide me with options, but don't force me into anything I don't absolutely need. Their equipment is up to date. I like that they have a TV with subtitles that I often zone out too during cleanings. This seems silly, but I have to mention their application of chapstick before the cleaning. I have never had a dentist do that before, and it makes a big difference. At prior dentists, my lips would get chapped from the numerous mouth rinses and lip wiping. Here, my lips leave moist and happy. I also leave with the typical dental goody bag, including my brand new toothbrush and chapstick for later.

I just want to say this Dr. is awesome. I was afraid of going to the dentist my whole life. Upon walking in the door, I felt so comfortable. The office is decorated like I would decorate my home. There was no "dental" smell and no stuffy music. As I met with Dr. Burkhart I really felt like he was genuinely concerned with my wants. He listened to me as I rambled on about my teeth. I have one tooth that I just don't like. It is slightly out of wack and he gave me options in ways to correct it. I did not feel like there was only one way and I really feel like he understood all of my concerns. Including my apprehension about the whole "going to the dentist" thing. I also really felt like I had the best cleaning ever. The hygienist made me feel so comfortable. We talked like I knew her my whole life. I left there feeling energized about my whole oral health. I have never felt like that before. I can actually say, I am looking forward to going again in 6 months. Ugh, if it were only sooner. :-)

You cannot find a better dentist anywhere. Dr Burkhart and his staff do superior work. 10 plus years ago when I started going to Dr Burkhart I was in pain. I needed a root canal; my gums were in a mess, and I needed several crowns. All because of my anxiety issues created by previous bad experiences at old school dentists. I had put off going to the dentist for years. Now I have a mouth full of beautiful crowns, healthy gums and anxiety free appointments. We have gone from fear of opening my mouth and white-knuckle hands clinching the arm rests, to my hands waving in the air directing the band, fighting the urge to sing along to the music I am listening to on my headphones as Chandra tolls away cleaning my teeth. What an amazing Dentist! After 50 years of repeated dentistry horror stories including terror in the dentist chair, all to repair the cosmetic and emotional damage to my front teeth from when I was a child, Dr. Burkhart suceeded in giving me the smile of my dreams. He is a great guy who took me through the process with patience, attention to detail, and empathy for my journey. I now smile without the usual self consciousness. Excellence personified! His staff is great: attentive, kind, very helpful and make you feel like family. While I can’t say I’m over my fear of the chair, Ill be happy to see everyone when I go back for my cleaning!

When my wife and I moved back to Austin after college our dentist at the time referred us to Dr. Burkhart and we have been happily going to his practice ever since. They have the latest equipment, extremely knowledgeable and kind staff, and we never have a wait. They do fun customer appreciation giveaways, create a very comfortable/laid back atmosphere, and really go the extra mile to take care of you. I know Dr. Burkhart is extremely busy, but he always take the time to check in on us during our visits, even if it's just a check up. I could go on, but ultimately, if you're looking for a new dentist office, look no further.

The Burkhart Dentistry team makes the experience of going to the dentist . . . well, almost enjoyable . I came to Burkhart Dentistry needing quite a bit of work, including several crowns. Bill has all the technology in house to create and install crowns the same day, with no temporaries involved. He’s very technical and detail-oriented, so his cosmetic work is exceptional. Kim was amazing in the front office. She was so helpful with insurance, patient forms, and making you feel welcome. Chandra was my Hygienist, and she was amazing! She reviews everything with you, so that you're aware of any problematic areas. Dr Burkhart was very friendly, and brought things to my attention that I possibly wouldn't have otherwise noticed. They genuinely care about their patients. It's taken me 3 years to finally find a dental office in Austin that I truly enjoyed!!! I highly recommend them!

So salesy. I'm sure the dental work is fine, but my appointment took an hour and a half and I was talked into multiple out of pocket expenses. And future work as well (discussed braces which I never brought up and don't need)... Then even though this was never communicated to me, they apparently don't take my insurance (even though they asked for my info so they knew what I had) and the out of pocket costs for one cleaning was over $200. I'll find someone in network.

I’ve been going to Dr Burkhart for many years. He has taken excellent care of multiple issues. Dr Burkhart replaced a crown yesterday in one appointment. I had virtually no pain, drove home and this morning everything feels perfectly normal. I’m sure he saved me big problems by detecting the issue with the crown that needed to be replaced. I am very appreciative and would not use anyone else. I would recommend Dr Burkhart to friends and family!

Dr.Burkhart and staff are EXCEPTIONAL! You are treated like family from the moment you walk in. Dr.Burkhart is honest, caring, and the work he does is second to none. He’s replaced old fillings and applied crowns to multiple teeth. The technique and precision he utilizes to make crowns is so stellar that I have a hard time differentiating crowned tooth from actual teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Burkhart for your entire family!

This Dentist office is like a breath of fresh air : polite , helpful, supportive and kind from the doctor to the front office , to hygienist and insurance staff all working together to make your experience fantastic. They are awesome and knowledgeable and I can't say enough about them. They are welcoming and compassionate and funny. This is what a Dentist office should be like. Dr. Burkhart is awesome. He was recommended by my child's orthodontist when she needed a fake tooth. He did an excellent job, and the tooth looks very natural. I then went to him for several veneers on my bottom teeth, which also turned out great. He stands behind his work and made several adjustments for my weird bite. Everyone in his office is friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Dr Burkhart has been my dentist for 20 years and in that time I’ve probably had every type of dental procedure there is (I inherited my parents’ bad teeth and gums). I can honestly say he’s the best there is. He’s at the top of his field, stays uptodate on the latest improvements, explains all options, what needs to be done, and how to proceed. I know I’m in good hands.

I have left only one other review on Google but Dr. Burkhart and his staff definitely deserve it. He has been my dentist for at least 15 years and both him and his staff are knowledgeable, incredibly thorough, polite and thoughtful. In my opinion, he is the best dentist in the US (and I attempted a few as I’ve moved around the country and always find myself back with him).

Dr. Burkhart did my Invisalign while also making me the most natural looking veneers to replace bonding on my front teeth from a pervious accident.
