This venue is great! We went here to play badminton and I loved it. Let me count the ways: (1) Step into their court (or see it from the lobby) and experience the perfect blend of elegance and functionality. Its floor plan ensures ample space for uninterrupted rallies and lightning-fast footwork. A+ for clean new mats, consistent good lighting, sleek dark ceilings without the typical warehouse bars. We enjoyed a lot of lovely and crisp rallies since we can see and hear our shots so well. (2) The change rooms are big and spacious complete with showers and lots of lockers, with a lounge area too.(3) I loved that it’s super clean and fresh smelling everywhere. (4) The in-house restaurant, Thai massage clinic, and hot yoga studio are a dream come true for me. (5) The lobby is bright and spacious overlooking the courts. Pro shop and stringing services look very modern. Only set back I saw was the parking lot which needs some paving and lighting. This is definitely a must-see and must-try venue. I haven’t explored their other racket sports sections so that’s to follow. The location is quite convenient too so you can enjoy some good food nearby.

Update: Much better since they've organized everything. I would definitely recommend to a friend or family. The only downfall to the gym is some of the personal trainers are not very professional and can be extremely rude. Gym could use a little face lift but hey you're there to workout not hang out. I've been a member for a while and prior to the gym merger it was a fantastic club! I don't think BFRC took into consideration any of it's current members when they decided to squish all of the workout gear together so your workout is literally on top of the person next to you. The last time I was there one cable machine was broken, the other two seemed like they hadn't been greased in forever and there were weights and attachments left everywhere and it was only 7 am! What happened to the "Zero Tolerance"? Overall I am now completely dissatisfied with this gym and would no longer recommend it to anyone. It is really sad because this was an amazing gym!

Reception area is soooooo old, with dirty smelly couches. Young blonde girl on reception can't even lift her head when you enter or leave. The place needs a major overhaul, starting with a simple paint. Water leaking through the roof in at least 20 places when it rains, buckets everywhere to catch the rain!! Equipment very very dated, tried 3 bikes before I found 1 in working order, locker room the same, at least half the lockers are rusted and unable to lock, doors snibs have been cut off. Washroom by squash courts filthy and doors on stalls had no lock, just a hole where lock should be!! This place is big and could be a great place but it needs a lot of money spent on it, because it's a dump.

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Personally, I think the place is fine. Sure it's not pristine and filled with bimbos, but it has a TON of good equipment to use, great squash courts and just the fact they provide towels and soap for you, is a god send. Yeah, some of the ceiling tiles are water damaged or cracked, but why the hell are people looking at the ceiling when they should be exercising or working out?? I can't speak for the classes since I've never taken one and probably never will. I'm just into squash and cardio workouts, both of which are perfect for my needs.

Checked this place out a few years ago and didn't join. Checked it out awhile back and didn't join. Why? The place is still a run down dreary old building with rickety ancient weight machines, leaky toilets, and a general atmosphere of neglect. It really needs a facelift. Probably the only thing keeping it alive is that there is now several small businesses renting space inside. Sure its cheap but you get what you pay for. Not sure why this place shows such a "failure to thrive" over the years...it should do better because the location is good. Perhaps new management might help???

Bad communication between staff and higher ups. When I signed up I was told I would have access to the racquet ball courts, I then found out that it was more monthly for access. I signed up for a year membership renewing monthly in January, when I called in November to make sure I would not be charged past the next January I was told no problem you wont. I then found out in March that I had been charged two months past then, and that's not their policy at all.

Great gym that is never crowded. Quality of the staff and the maintenance of equipment has really improved in the last year. The trainers are supportive, friendly and very approachable. I highly recommend trying out some of the group classes, signing up for a fitness program or having an assessment done by the head trainer John. Towel service is also included which is a nice perk.

It's nice to have indoor tennis courts. But the building needs some serious upgrading. The new owners have been doing a good job of making minor improvements. But a major overhaul is needed to eliminate the mould-infested carpeting under the rubber floor in the main workout area, and the bathrooms really need complete updating. The parking lot also needs a major overhaul.

LOVE THIS GYM! I was at one of the big box gyms before the BFRC and would never go back! The staff and other members are so friendly here and the gym feels like home. Never any wait times for machines or weights, lots of different classes both in mornings and evenings which works perfect for a busy schedule!

So glad to have found this hidden gem! Always a warm and friendly welcome. You know you're in the hands of true, passionate professionals. Greatly appreciate the effort and the measures they have put in place to be able to use it still in recent weeks / months. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend! Thank you!

I don't play racquet sports but the gym is the best kept secret in Burlington. Two power racks, one squat rack, 3 benches, a fair amount of machines and lots of space to move around. They're a little weird about some rules like no chalk but if you're not making a complete mess, you're probably okay.

Burlington Fitness & Racquet club is a family friendly club with access to many great activities including squash and tennis. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and also many improvements to the club since the ownership took over last Fall. Fantastic fitness classes and personal trainers as well!

  • Steve Gachod

This facility seems to not have a way to maintain the temperature within its non-tennis areas. In the winter it is too cold to play squash (ball barely even warms up) and too cold to get a decent workout in (30 min+ warm up required). This place has good potential otherwise.

  • Khaled Tawfik

Been a member for almost 10 years. Culture changed With the recent change in ownership, staff and general manager LF were border rude. Although I had no intention on leaving, I had to cancel my membership because of how I was treated

  • Pauline Maurice

BFRC is the full package! I love the friendly welcome I get as I pick up my towel. I mainly play squash and it's nice to have the gym and classes to balance out my workouts. Having food and drink on site is a bonus. All in one club!

Went there and the person at the front desk wasn’t wearing a mask, considering she had contact with everyone in the building, that’s a little concerning. As well as many places being very messy and not cleaned.

  • Paolo Meleca

This gym has a great old school feel. It has all the equipment/ free weights you need to get a great workout in. The temperature inside the gym is perfect for people that go to the gym and actually workout.

  • Tasha Roswell

Really friendly staff and has everything you could want in a fitness facility! Very glad I made the switch from a discount gym. I think BFRC is just what I need to take my fitness journey to the next level.

  • Michelle Chalmers

Great gym if you don’t like the crowds of big box gyms! New equipment comes in regularly and the variety of equipment is amazing. Tons of space for working out on machines or mat work. Highly recommend!

Good old school feeling gym. Has everything you need and more . Not crazy busy . It really came along way since the Reno’s were done and the Guys brought in a lot of new equipment.

Really friendly front desk staff, not crowded and very clean. Really interested to see the updates that are coming and if that will include new equipment in the weight room area.
