"Sooooooo"
Horrible bus to bus transfer system, and with many important routes barely running past 8pm most nights, I question how they justify charging $3.50 per rider. You understand a vast majority of the public who use public transportation are working late/night shifts right?? Yes there are plenty of elderly citizens who use it during the daytime but the demographic is not what it once was in Burlington, younger people need to get around and driving/owing a vehicle in Ontario is highway robbery!(pun intended) Perhaps implement a system whereby routes 1, 4, 6, 10, and 21 run 24/7, therefore offering transportation options for the citizens who aren't fortunate enough to work 9-5 day jobs! There is not a single affordable way in burlington to get from even guelph line, near the 403, to Aldershot after midnight without the use of a credit card, resulting in a near $25 taxi ride should the citizen opt not to walk the 5km distance in the middle of the night. This, my friends, is atrocious, considering our neighbouring cities have such thriving and timely public transport operations. Change must happen, in a timely manner, and then perhaps I wont mind paying $24.50 a week for one bus fare per day.
I was trying to catch the 101 leaving burlington go at 4:37pm, i reached the go station just as the 101 was departing so i walked to the otherside to catch the 101 as it was leaving. The lady driver looked right at me as i was waving at her, but she didnt stop and kept driving. I told this to another bus driver who had just pulled in and she told me that buses cant stop to pick up passengers as they are leaving. At this point i called burlington transit customer service to make a complaint. The lady i spoke with took down my name and number and said a supervisor will get back to me. I then asked if there is a manager or supervisor to speak with, but i was told there isn't (which is ridiculous) so i thwn waited for the next 101 to arrive The next 101 showed up and i borded the bus. As i sat down i noticed the route 12 stop to pick up a passenger in the exact spot where the previous 101 drove by me. Then as the 101 was departing it too stopped in that same spot to pick up a few passengers. Took photos to clearly show this. This level of incompetence is absolutely unacceptable when so many people rely on transit.
Most employees are kind. You can't always control the attitude of the person who is driving the bus however the frequency and bus routes can be controlled. The transit system in Burlington is very poor. Not only is the frequency poor but the route's are poor. Why is there no bus that runs straight along the major streets (east to west). You should be able to jump on a bus from Brant and Dundas and it take you all the way to Appleby and Dundas, without having to jump on another bus or countless detours. Going from point A to B within the city, can take you sometimes over an hour because of the way the bus route has been constructed when it really would only be a 5-10 minute drive. That is absurd! I would love to take the bus more instead of driving but not when it is such an inconvenience to do that. Burlington transit needs to look at Mississauga or the TTC for some tips!
I would give zero stars if possible. By far the worst public transit system I've ever used. Buses are constantly late by 15 minutes or more. If you miss your bus, too bad, hope you like waiting for minimum half an hour before the next one comes. Oh, you need to connect to another bus? Too bad, yours is late, and you'll have to wait another half an hour or more for the second bus. Drivers are either incredibly nice or extremely rude. Honestly, you're better off either taking an Uber or walking if you need to be somewhere quick. I can't count how many times I've been late for something, even when catching an early bus and giving myself more than enough time, because of how late Burlington Transit is. Avoid at all costs.
Sooooooo...... Burlington Transit some of the worst service in Ontario. Bus always break down...... they are never on time ...... today it is 32 out plus humx. Very hot out. The bus broke down and instead of sending one right away since it is also 4 pm rush to go home. They are making everyone wait in the heat weather for 30 more mins for the next bus...... so does Burlington have no extra bus or divers ? This seams to be the normal for Burlington Transit. I wish I wish I could give a negative score
God no. Add half an hour to whatever times the system tries to show you then also note the same route number and stop number doesn't determine that you'll go the way you want to, so add more time in the 50/50 chance it's a random route seemingly. Ruins commute employment opportunities which is actually pretty damming and should improve but I make salary the more things don't work so yay. You'll always be late even if it's first shift in the morning. Doesn't affect my finances, nice try though Burlington transit.
The area is great, but I swear to god the bus terminal is only open in the morning and afternoon. The main problem is that they're closed on weekends, meaning if your a student and you need to refill your bus pass...suddenly it's a panic to get down there with in two hours before the terminal closes. Not to mention the bus passes have to be refilled basically every month, so every month you have to rush down there before the place closes to refill the pass...it's just stupid.
Most incompetant transit system on the planet. Laughable. The drivers don't even stick to the time schedule even when there isn't traffic or road maintenence. The early/late bus schedule is inefficient as well. They don't run early or late enough. God forbid you ever lose something because with the horrible customer service going on, you'll never get it back. Mississauga/Hamilton & Toronto outshine this pathetic transit system. What a joke.
Busses never on time, service is getting worse and worse while prices go up an up. Better off walking or taking an uber if traveling as a group. Just watched my bus drive past my stop because they were training a new driver..... guess I can wait another 30 minuts. I challenge the government employees in charge of this horrible system to use only the bus service for a year odds, are it would be impossible to get to all there meetings.
Always late resulting in missing the following bus, not happy with the lack of punctuality considering the cost. I've been late for work many times, even if I leave early one of the Bus's seems to be late enough to miss the following one. This service is ridiculous half the time I end up stuck having to take an uber and at the end of the day feel like I've worked for nothing having spent alot of my money on transportation.
It's common knowledge that Burlington has the worst transit system of any of the surrounding cities. Constant complaints that there's not enough busses and too long a wait between busses. It takes forever to get to your destination because of having to transfer and hope that you don't have another long wait for the next bus. Even the bus drivers complain about the very poor planning of this whole system.
I have to legitiately have to say this is the worst transit system I have ever encountered. I have taken buses in multiple cities and this is by far the worst. Buses are never on time. It quite puzzling to me as they seem to have implemented new devices to try to have the timing problem fixed. It's not that I would ever complain about a few extra minutes. But 15 to 20 minutes, laughable.
Horrible transit system. Constantly putting up prices and making the service worse. Buses are never ontime. Supposed to catch 1X at locke and yorke toward burlington. The bus is supposed to be there at 7:59 but today it came at 8:20am and im supposed to catch a train at 8:31. Thanks burlington transit for having incompetent drivers. 0/5 stars
Buses run on a timely manner. In addition, there are many very kind hearted drivers who work for Burlington Transit. I wouldn't mind having at least one more route running through the Aldershot area/North Shore, or having the 5 run at a later time, but knowing how few people are on it anyways, I know it isn't very feesable for now.
Wish their transit services ran later, and more frequently. I know it's not entirely their fault, they need more funding and staff, but would definitely help people that have to commute from other cities daily for work a lot. Other than that, perfectly friendly, respectable drivers.
You need to train your drivers with compassion and kindness person like me work 6 hours and i sit down at bus stop waiting for the bus your driver keep on driving away until i keep on wavering she said you were sitting down you not waiting for the bus very mean spirited driver !!!
Only really good thing I can think to say is at least they eventually show up... The plains road bus is horrible when it comes to being on time going back to Hamilton, not a fan of how expensive the fares are getting while nothing changes about the service
Bus arrives early than the time mentioned in the schedule and stops in some other stop to match the time. I think you should adjust the time of go train and your bus so that no passenger miss the bus.
how is there a waitline at 8am?? i had to wait 2 hours on call just to get someone who just said “we cant really help yet” absolutely sad. i had to go to the aldershot go station to get my phone back
Buses are always late and never run enough in the city. If I ever need to get to walkers line, I've gotta wait an hour on Saturdays and Sundays, but at least the 1x and 101 run quite frequently.
The busses never show up on time. I call to find out how far behind the bus im trying to catch is running and the operator doesnt bother to pick up. Worst service I have ever encountered
Always very late, almost impossible to actually rely on. I shouldn't be able to make a half hour walk in the same amount of time as the "10 minute ride" because the bus is late again.
Had a terrible driver who slammed on brakes no reason. When I called in was told if I can’t speak reasonably call back later. Worst service ever.
Buses are not synced properly with go trains at Appleby station. I always miss the 9:06 bus 11 and need to wait half an hour for the next one.
I leave in oakville and evertime I go to Burlington go I have had to wait 3 times tje bus was late coming the 2 this makes me angey
The bus(1)timing was 11:10 and I arrived on the stop @11:05 we all are waiting since 30 mins here and there is no bus.
@Burlington-transit Bus number 10 great service (1708-10) The operator is very patient and helpfull Really appreciated
The only thing I don't like about Burlington Transit is the buses don't run late enough they should run till 3 a.m.
Had to get bus tickets and the staff member was very cold and unfriendly. I only go there when I have to.
Works well enough, but the schedules couldn't be any worse. Most drivers are nice though, so that helps.
Great location for a bus terminal. Sometimes the buses are really early or really behind.
I can't say enough about this transit system. The drivers are very friendly and helpful.
The drivers are super helpful and cheerfully assist those with mobility issues.
I hate this stupid transit, the drivers are stupid and they do not respect you!
Very spacious and well planned shuttle for Canada Day visitors.
Always great service, friendly drivers, and always on time.
Here right now and its calm and respectful people all over
Great drivers but not enough service ....disappointed
Love the BT. Great service. Love the new bus location
Drivers are rude and busses never seen to be cleaned
On schedule that's all you can ask of transit
They close earlier and bus service is poor.
BT....best transit in the GTA - west! …
