English fish fare galore, a whales haul can be consumed if one so chooses. The all-you-can-eat option will allow you to do precisely that, without being a fisherman... or fisherwomen depending on your nouns. All the fixins of the traditional English variety are found here; Malt Vinegar, Tartar Sauce, and good old Lemon Wedges; all included. The spuds did not tantalize the taste buds, but are a nice neutral addition. The star of the show... the fish did not jump off the plate and wow. That being said it is lightly battered, tasty and easy on the way down. All these factors combined can make anyone feel like a professional eating champion. Prices are competitive and cheaper than most, which is nice to beat back inflation. Washrooms are clean and inviting... making you want to stay longer than you should. Decor does the job and splashed with some local history. Service could use a deep infusion of Joy, Enthusiasm and Attentiveness. Communication lingua franca between staff puts people at ease, and it's just good manners. Faux pas aside, nobody will slap you with a fish, and that's a good thing! You will get your serving of spud and sea, even when you have to mount a flag like an ambassador at times. If you are looking for a decent place to eat that won't break the bank, open your eyes because you already found it... just be sure to save some fish for the next guy.

Had the all-you-can-eat in Edmonton today. Restaurant is great. Food is good. This is an excellent deal because it includes a bottomless soft drink. My only complaint is that the soft drink did not taste like name brand. The fountain dispenser behind the counter shows name brand (Pepsi) but I can almost guarantee you that I wasn’t drinking Pepsi. It tasted like no-name or store brand. The fish was very good and I did not find it greasy at all. The fries are also very good. These are not your McDonald’s American style fries. These fries will very much appeal to anyone familiar with Montreal style fries. The fries are very good. If you order the all-you-can-eat, coleslaw is not included but I have no issue with that considering the excellent price. Service was also very good and attentive. There was no problem getting additional fish and service was prompt. Also, the fish is served immediately and not sitting because it always comes extremely hot. I would highly recommend this restaurant and give it less than full marks only because of the less than satisfying taste of the beverage. Service was excellent and the two servers were available to anyone which was a plus because you didn’t have to wait for your own server, common to many restaurants where servers have pre-determined sections.

I hadn't heard of C-Lovers before and didn't know we had a new fish and chips place here in north Edmonton, just happened to see it when I was at the plaza the previous day. They maybe need to advertise more - send out flyers or something. We ordered the haddock and chips last night. Absolutely fantastic!! The fish filets were generous size portions, the fries thick and perfectly cooked. We usually order from Joey's but going forward, C-Lovers will be our new go-to place for authentic English fish & chips wrapped in newspaper. The fish batter was light and flaky and the fish cooked to perfection. The fish itself tasted so fresh it was like it was just caught. Their homemade tartar sauce was thick and creamy with the taste on point. The to-go service was fast and the tables were filled with folks dining in and enjoying a drink. Two pieces of haddock and more fries than you could eat was 18.57. The gravy is thick, rich and flavourful. We will definitely be going back and telling family and friends about it.

I regret eating here. Thats the most honest I can possibly be. My family of four all went here to eat for the first time today. The restaurant was okay, the cleanliness was poor, and once our food arrived we had to ask for cutlery to eat it with. Never a good sign. But we were there for the fish, and it was horrendous. It was as stated in all the other reviews the greasiest offering Edmonton has for fish anyways. It's interesting to note that you are only allowed to take home food from your first plate. With the all-you-can-eat the moment you ask for anything other than your first plate of food you will not be allowed to take it out with you. We actually didn't need any other food cuz we didn't finish any of our first plates of food. 55 cash for 3 adults and 1 seven year old. Brutes.

I have had fish chips from different location in Edmonton and all the stores that we visited where somewhat the same except C Lovers. Amazing, tasty food, all you can eat for 18.95. Endless soft drinks included. The staff where accommodating, friendly, sang Happy Birthday to my brother. We met some wonderful people for their first visit and all they could do is rave about the food. Our first visit did not disappoint. Excellent batter, home made fries, cut at the store. The atmosphere was simple, understated, but effective. They have handicap parking. Lots of parking stalls. About 50 seats for in dining. A refreshing taste that makes me want to go back time and time again. The food was.not greasy. Wow

As a fish and chip lover I thought I would try somewhere other than Joey's. We often get from there and for 21 bucks we eat well, with coleslaw included. C Lovers cost 15 more for less food, and awful food. The cod had no flavor and was so dry, that even the lemon, which they forgot to include, could not moisten the dry fish. The batter was soggy, and it all stank like the paper its wrapped in. Fries were disgusting, no flavor. The coleslaw was bare, so little dressing, that it was just cabbage, plus its not even included in your meal. I can not understand why it costs so much? Will never go back. Guess I will stick with Joeys. Better food and better prices. sorry to say but whoever thinks this is great quality fish and chips has obviously never had great quality fish.

I have been meaning to get here since it opened. I live in the area and finally got here. Everyone I know that has been here say the fish and chips are excellent and the all you can eat deal is the best. I can say that the hype is true and I was no disappointed. The fish is lightly battered and that allows the taste of the fish to come through. The chips are great also. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Our server was friendly and attentive. The washroom was clean although quite small but of course it does it’s job. We were a party of 9 but the food came fast and hot. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the food was great. We definitely will come back again. I definitely recommend coming here.

I heard about this restaurant on 102.3 NOW Radio. I've eaten there at least 7 times in the last 2 years. More recently the price has gone up but that's because the price of food has gone up. One review I read said that there's no longer coleslaw available? I ate there in February; they had coleslaw. it's the only restaurant that I will eat coleslaw from. I don't even look at the menu. I always order 2 pieces of haddock with chips. It's always hot, fresh, & never greasy! Service is quick & I find the staff there are very friendly! They don't have dessert but who has room for dessert after their generous fish and chips portions?

What a disappointment! I was looking forward to trying this location because I had eaten at a C-Lovers in Horseshoe Bay and enjoyed it. This location was terrible! The chips weren't cooked, the halibut was so small and thin it was almost nonexistent. The prices are high. There are so many better fish & chip restaurants out there for the same or less price point. Won't be going back. I am also turned off when the server takes the tip by keeping the change rather than giving me the option to give it to them. A tip is not automatic and it is up to the customer to decide if and how much to give.

We would give this a 10 star if it was available, we are very fussy about our food which is why we cook at home 90% of the time but when we go out we have our favorite places....C-Lovers just got added to the list, the fish was awesome, amazing batter, the fries were also fantastic as was the tartar sauce. The service was great and the place was super clean, things we also need to return. We will most definitely be returning and I have already told people about this place, would be worth the drive from the south side for this quality!!!! Brad

We used to love going here but unfortunately it’s getting worse and worse each time. Three times now the bun for my fish burger has been rock hard (the microwave them from frozen is my guess). First time it happened I figured it was a one off and they just gave me a new bun. Second time what ever but today…come on!! Hubby had all you can eat. Fries were horrible and hard (not over cooked just hard and horrible). He orders two extra pieces of fish, waited 15 mins and still didn’t come out. Saw the waitress go tell the guy for a second time. Prices have gone up and service and quality has dropped.

  • Paganheart Heart

Very tiny pieces of all you can eat fish.. basically no taste to the fish or batter. Fries were ok..soggy but ok..coleslaw is an extra add on charge.. tartar sauce was mostly all mayonnaise. Not worth going back. If the fish actually had some sort of taste or spice it would be but tastes like its battered with plain flour. Cannot take your left overs home.. They would rather waste the food and throw it out. At least my cat would have eaten it. The waitress was not very helpful at all with drinks or anything else. Overall pretty sad...just was not a great experience

Been to c lovers now over 6 times. I always get the haddock. And can say it's the best in and surrounding areas of edmonton. I see lots of negative comments. Most are saying Joey's fish and chips are better. Well in my opinion. I think it's people that work or know staff and just add negative comments. The c lovers shop is spot less. Staff are really nice. Fish can be seen been cooked. It's super hot when you get it. Would always recommend them over all other fish shops out there. Been to them all over the years and c lovers are hands down the best.

  • Phil Marwood

I ordered the two piece Cod dinner. The cod was perfect and the batter very light. Chips where also very good and the mushy peas where spot on. If someone puts good food in front of me it isn't there long and this meal disapeared very fast. I know my fish n chips, I'm from Hull in East Yorkshire UK and this meal gets a 9/10. Why only nine ? Bread cake was a little dry and for a bread cake of that size two little rubs of butter just weren't quite enough. I will most definitely be back and I see I can get it delivered too !

  • Brittany Poon-King

All you can eat fish and chip is excellent, have been here twice (spring and last week). Lightly battered, freshly fried, delicious tartar sauce. They're super fast on getting more out to you and just ask how many you want when you order! Bonus to get pop included

Food amazing, I had the chicken strips. I know who gets chicken strips at a seafood place lol. But they were amazing. Came with fries and coleslaw. Everything was very tasty. The service was okay, but they were super busy when I was there so can't fault them to much. And prices were average.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I went for dinner with my family as I tried C lovers in Kelowna and loved it but here I feel that I got totally ripped off. The meals are so expensive compared to the quality of food being delivered. Fish had no taste and the fries were overly cooked and gross. I also ordered oysters and it had more batter than the oyster itself. If you want to save your money then please don’t go to this place , instead go to joeys where you get better quality food.

  • Blair Norton

As a person that loves fish and fond of fish and chips I spotted this place close to my condo, so I stopped in for supper. I will say the staff was very friendly and 5 stars but as for the food, I can only give it 3 stars. I found the fish, shrimp and onion rings to be very greasy, the fries were alright. I ordered the halibut and I've never seen a square and thin piece of halibut, so I'm not even sure if it was halibut. I will try this place again but try the cod, I hope it's better.

  • Jeffrey Simmons

First time here. The usage of tables could be better arranged during covid times. We ordered the c-lovers platter. It was very large plate for 1 person. The fish was over cooked but I believe that had to do because how thin the piece was. It was still tasty. The coleslaw was awesome. Prawns and onion rings were pretty decent. Restaurant was clean and service was great. The French fries were cooked perfectly and NOT soggy like most fish and chip places. I would return here again.

  • Laura Jo

So glad I didn't listen to the naysayers on this site. We went for lunch today and the food was phenomenal. The fish is so lightly battered you're not eating all bread, the onion rings were delicious and the Coleslaw was awesome. I have never had coleslaw with green onion in it! It was a nice touch. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back. Oh and it cost $60 for four of us. If people think that is expensive, then I don't mind paying that for good food.

  • David Spencer

Read good comments about their fish, ordered haddock, the fillet was thin and the flesh was soft. Suspectedvit was cod but when asked they confirmed it was haddock. If this really was haddock, very disappointed with the quality if their fish. Will not be back

We ordered the $40 takeout special, and are very disappointed with the food, Chips were over cooked and dried up, the batter on the fish was rubbery and left a weird taste in our mouth, couldn’t even use the salt they gave us as it obviously hadn’t been stored correctly. I’ve given 2 stars because food was hot and coleslaw wasn’t bad, and customer service was good, but we won’t be returning again, this was our second visit and both times we’ve had bad food.

  • John T

Went there a couple weeks ago, it was empty in the evening. Service was great. Had the all you can eat fish and chips. My friend asked if they used peanut oil in the fryers and we were told they use beef fat. (Not really appetizing afterwards) The pieces were small, probably 3 pieces to 1 Joey's Only piece but the service was quick. Fish really had not a lot of taste. Probably won't go back anytime soon but still open to the possibility of going back.

  • Lora Penner

Went for dinner there tonight. Very dissappointed with the service I received from the waitress. I asked her to clear the dirty plates and she said No we do that after you leave. The fries were dark brown and tasteless, obviously saving money by using old oil. Coleslaw and halibut was very good. My zuccini sticks were dark brown also, obviously cooked in the same oil as the fries. Very disappointed. Quality has gone downhill since they first opened.

  • Katie Hansler

Called them to ask if they have a Gluten Free options available...the gentleman who answered the call indicated that they DID have Gluten Free options. Went to the restaurant only to find out that they only had one Gluten Friendly option - the chowder - and NO Gluten Free fish and chips at all. Neither of the two men that were working Sunday Mar 7 afternoon 3:20 would take responsibility for giving us inaccurate information. We didn't stay

  • john payne

I don't normally do this as I know that times have been hard for everyone for the last 2yrs, and i been raving this store to my friends to go there. But I have to say after paying 42 dollars today for my meal I was so disappointed when I got home the fish was small and the chips constited of 35 chips which is a child's portion I won't be buying from there again, I don't mind paying but that was ridiculous not quantity for the money I paid.

First experience at C-Lovers dining in !! we got the all you can eat dinner, super impressed by the quality of fish The portions were amazing we couldn't even get a second plate, we were so full already our daughter ate for free because she was 2. Perfect for a great family dinner The staff were super friendly and helpful I'd definitely recommend C-Lovers!! You won't be disappointed

It was okay. I suggest that you dine in and don’t have your fish & chips to go. I guess it’s the authentic way to wrap your food in paper and not have it placed in a container You get quite an abundance of chips with your order, however they’re bland, no seasoning or dipping sauce to go with it. The coleslaw tasted fresh & the service was fine as well.

  • Brenda Young

Prices have gone up but to be expected. The only disappointment was that they have taken the coleslaw away as part of the meal and I always like it with fish & chips. Service was great as usual and the fish & chips were excellent so was the coleslaw but had to pay extra.

The fish is the issue. I ordered Haddock, it was a formed fish patty, like you buy frozen in the grocery store. It was overcooked, chewy, not flaky or light or crunchy. For the price I was not impressed. Perhaps this was a bad day, but I will try a different fish shop next time.

We have tried every single C lovers in Vancouver and we loved em all. Last week we heard they opened a new one in Edmonton, so we drove all the way from Calgary to try it out, and we were not disappointed. Fresh food snd amazing service. Prices are very reasonable. We will be back soon. Thank you guys for the great service.

Love C-Lovers, especially the Halibut with Prawn add-on! I've been several times since I found out they opened an Edmonton location and the quality has always been consistent; nice crispy chips, perfectly cooked fish and shrimp, and great slaw! Every meal has been fast, fresh, and piping hot. A little pricey, but worth it.

Ok fish and chip place. Some amount of assigned seating. Alcohol is available. The Fish were small size and tasted mediocre. The fries were ok i guess. The tartar sauce i found didn't taste good at all but i guess its personal preference but it tasted bland. Service was otherwise great and free wifi is available.

Celebrated my Mom's birthday tonight at the clairview location. We had a very friendly server, great service and the batter was crispy and not greasy. I ordered the halibut small appetite, (it came with 1 piece of fish and fries) that was the perfect amount of food for someone who prefers smaller servings.

  • Sharon Laumen

North side location. Great service. Wondering why the fish portion is so small relative to the amount of chips? Would be great if the fish were bigger portions for male customers. The price should reflect the size of the fish. Was surprised it was smaller than a clenched fist. Other than that …

New fish and chips place that has all you can eat option. Service needs a bit of tweaking but food is quite good, lots of choices on the menu so i will be back to try them all! Batter on fish and chips is light and airy, very crunchy. Quality of seafood was good and well seasoned. Will be back for more!

Was greeted with a smile when me and my wife walked in. food smelled great! We both got the all you can eat everyday deal. the fish was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, very yummy! The chips were just as good nothing Ive ever tasted before! Best spot in town if your craving fish!

We were early because we were on our way home and they were training new staff. Fish was a little overcooked but still good. We were missing one prawn and we had to wait a little for them to get the wrapping right on our take out order but the food was still good and the new staff will learn

This place has amazing food, the batter they use on all the fried items is light, doesn't taste like oil, and isn't oily. It's also still nice and crispy. The portion sizes are huge for the prices. The c food chowder was a little bland though, it needed salt and pepper.

Quaint little fish chips place. Service was great with friendly staff. Price point very good. I had the,all you can eat. Fish cooked perfectly crust was crisp, didn't have wait long for additional fish request. $ 17.85 great deal.

Nice new, bright and clean place to enjoy your meal. Great service, friendly staff. Delicious fish n chips. Good prices too. You will be satisfied, you will not leave hungry. Go and enjoy yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Got the Cod chips and the fish was soggy with no taste and had the breading falling off, the fries didn’t even have salt. I don’t know if it was just this time I happened to get bad food but I wouldn’t pay 18 bucks again.

  • May Molofy

Food was hot and delicious, coleslaw was great too. Price for all you can eat fish & chips but your first plate came with 5 pieces, so was pretty much all I could eat. Also came with endless pop. Would definitely return

  • Francois Dalton

Had the halibut platter. The halibut was awesome. The oysters were gross the shrimps were nothing special either. The fries were very good and the coleslaw was pretty good as well. Will be my only visit here.

Great fish & chips, basic but not too greasy at all. Also a good price point, affordable for the giant portions. Service is always on-point, prompt and polite. Atmosphere is very casual & clean.

I love the fish here. My favorite dishes are the haddock. For take outs, the take out special is also a really good choice for snacking on with family at home. You just have to toast it back up.

Food is average but expensive. $1 per onion ring is highly questionable.

I’m quite happy my overall experience at this restaurant. It’s really nice inside. I love the prices and that the food is fresh and priced very well. It’s a nice new restaurant in the area.

Amazing experience! Staff was super friendly , but most important the food was fantastic! The fries are just worth the outing alone. You will not be disappointed give C-Lovers a try

  • Belinda Pattison

The food was great, no complaints. Their take out special had a good fish to chip ratio, which was awesome. Other places we've ordered from give too little fish and tons of fries.

  • Rick

Very good fish and chips for a reasonable price. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Great food (the haddock was cooked well and the all you can eat option was excellent, especially with prawns) and service. Our waitress Kimberly checked on us frequently.

Ill never go here again we had take out it came wrapped in paper and the portion was so small i think it was a gold fish not cod rip off for 18 dollars prett sad

  • C Woon

Tiny but tasty portions. Freshest halibut this far inland. Batter is crispy and light. All you can eat is only for pollock, which was passable.

  • Mitchell Hughes

Trash food and trashy manager with horrible attitude do not spend your money on this dump

Its a nice place to go. First timer here. Fish wasn’t too greasy. Good for fish and chips. Cesar salad seemed a bit wettish.
