My 2007 Office Word quit working on my PC. I checked the online reviews of Computer Repair shops in Winnipeg and CDC Computers had the best rating. I took my computer in and Daniel checked it out. He explained to me what he was doing and how I should limit the amount of unneeded junk on my computer. i.e. I had downloaded WoW four times. He told me the security programs I had installed were unneeded. They were taking up a lot of memory as well as costing me big bucks when they auto-renewed. He proceeded to delete the unnecessary programs, explaining each problem to me. After I was there over an hour watching, and learning, Daniel told me that my hard drive was inadequate in size and speed for what I was doing. I left my computer overnight and retrieved it the next day. My hard drive had been replaced for a really decent price and the labour cost was exceptionally low compared to the charges I had to pay other repair shops in the past. I was extremely please with the courteous and friendly manner in which I was treated by everyone I spoke with. Daniel went out of his way to explain every step he took and his advice and the new hard drive cleared up the Word problem as well as speeding up my computer considerably. I do not hesitate to recommend CDC Computer as a friendly, knowledgeable and inexpensive place to have electronic repairs done. It will be my go-to shop from now on. Thank you.

I have been their customer for several years now. After I bought a gaming computer from another centre. I ended up asking for their assistance as the place where I bought my computer originally was closed that day. I was impressed with their service. It was knowledgeable, personal and in a timely manner. Of note there was nothing wrong with the other place I used to take my computer. But the people at CDC are simply better than anybody else I have found. Recently I went there to update my computer and was about to buy more than I actually needed. The owner stopped and talked with me about why I was buying so much equipment and what I needed it for. He ended up convincing me to buy less equipment than I was going to. (500 dls less). That is just to show you that there are honest people who work hard and do a great job, business owners that prefer to keep a happy costumer than to make a few extra bucks. I would recommend them to anybody! They will have a client in me for life.

Maybe it has changed ownership or cleaned up its act, but my experience was not positive with them. After having filled out the actual "in shop" work order, I had them build me a computer. The end result: they swapped out the HD I ordered for a cheaper, less efficient one. They installed a CDR when I ordered a DVR and even argued with me when I showed them the "CDR" label and that it would not accept DVD'S. And the extra fans I purchased were nowhere to be found. It was until I stepped away from the counter and continued my argument "so the rest of the customers could hear about their service" that they finally agreed to fix it. Their main mistake was that they didn't know of the technical knowledge I have re: hardware & software. I've never went back since and after hearing ex-employee stories, had no reason to. I forgot about the incident for years otherwise I would have given this review earlier.

I’ve been dealing with CDC for over 15 years and have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and dedicated. That was proven once again during my most recent experience. I was getting intermittent blue screen issues on my computer so I took it to the team at CDC. At first they thought it just needed virus removal, but when I got my computer home, the blue screen issues recurred. I phoned CDC and they tried to walk me through a couple of possibilities, but it blue-screened again while I was talking to them. They then told me to bring it back to them so they could figure it out. I did that the next morning. They discovered the RAM memory was the problem, so they fixed it—and graciously refused to charge me for this second visit! I was blown away. These guys are the best! It’s been over a month and no more blue screens so it looks like the issue has been resolved. Thanks, CDC!

The service department of CDC Computers was amazing! One of the letters came off the keyboard of my son’s Chromebook and they fixed it beautifully. When I called, the Service technician was polite, friendly and very helpful. He clearly explained what could and could not be done, depending on the type of damage to the keyboard and let me know that I would not be charged to have someone assess the damage. I was served quickly by very friendly staff. Although the key was too damaged to reset, the technician problem solved and was able to salvage a key from another damaged keyboard. The repair was done on the spot. The Chromebook now works perfectly and I didn’t have to go through the hassle of a warranty claim or be without the device for an extended length of time. I will definitely come to CDC Computers first next time I have a computer issue. Very happy customer!

NEVER USE THIS PLACE MEMORY EXPRESS is WAY better This place completely ripped me off. I told them I wanted something that could run a game, nothing major, and the salesman went to the nearest computer and said this works. He used google to check its functionality, told me nothing about the specs and knocked off the sales tax to "help me out" sold me a 300$ laptop for 1000$ and charged me for setup. The Windows install is wrong and needs to be re-done, plus 30 days in when I was completely unsatisfied they refused to Exchange or Refund and only offered me 550$ back for my returned computer in "exact condition as sold" Salesman is brutal, manager is even worse. Wouldnt even speak to me. Its pathetic inside, don't waste your money.

We have been dealing with CDC Computers for years. They have been very consistent with their service and products. I have bought several computers and items over the years. We recently bought 3 new systems for our office. We are very happy with the service we received specifically from Daniel. He showed us many options and recommended the right one for our needs. We were well informed and assured speaking with Daniel. If you are looking for business computers in Winnipeg, this is the place to shop. Store front looks messy but they are well organized and well informed. Lots of parking available. They also integrated a large service shop for repairs and IT service in the building.

To be honest, I googled and called a computer repair shop closer to home, but after speaking to them and suffering through a repetitive, condescending conversation - I hung up very irritated. I googled again, refining my search to highly rated computer repair and decided on CDC after reading positive reviews. I didn’t call this time, just loaded up my laptop and stopped by. Wow wow wow!!! My whole experience there was amazing! The collaboration between the staff, their knowledge and resolve to fix my laptop was commendable. I came into CDC Computers for the first time to get a repair to our Android Box. I was so impressed with the courteous and knowledgeable service when I dropped off the box. The service tech explained so much to me and had all the time in the world for me. The repair was done within a couple of hours! Then when I came in Daniel went to great lengths to ensure that it was working properly and that I understood everything I needed to to get the most out of my box. Very good experience, and friendly knowledgeable staff. I brought my computer in for a diagnosis because it was running very slow and having issues with the battery life. After figuring out that my hard drive was failing they gave me different options on how to go about fixing it and what options I had for replacement hard drives. They did have my computer for a week or two as they had to order the replacement hard drive in but I didn’t mind because once I got it back it worked like new if not better and the price they charged for it I thought was very fair.

I brought my laptop in because I was experiencing some display and keyboard issues, and they were more than happy to help me. They're very friendly, efficient, and more than anything, helpful. Cameron told me everything that was wrong with the computer, and the fixes they made were perfect. Everything is running perfectly again, and they even helped update my drivers before leaving (very helpful if you don't know what you're doing). Excellent customer Service!! We returned an item in store today and Cameron, a service rep, tried to get it working, but discovered it is obviously a defective item. Jonathan (Sales Supervisor) gave us an excellent deal on another item in store that we gratefully accepted and made the exchange for the returned item. All staff present were most courteous and pleasant. So appreciative of great customer service and will definitely keep them in mind in the future. It is a small, family-owned business that obviously considers the customer's needs.

I needed a new laptop quick so I hit the usual spots such as bestbuy and memory express but couldnt get anyone to help me. I went to CDC and was greeted the moment I walked in. I was shown a few laptops and explained the differences between them. They were able to transfer all of my files from my old laptop on the spot. While I waited they even showed me how to use their virtual reality system and let me mess around with it. Great service, great products, great prices. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Cameron Batista was incredibly helpful to me today. I have recently suffered a great loss as my nephew had died. I have a lot of old videos of him as a child on mini dv format and could not make any of my cameras work to see the old videos. Immaculate Service!! I recently brought a computer to there service desk to get a diagnosis on what’s wrong with my sata ports on my mobo. They got it done quickly and gave me suggestions on what to do to get it working.For whatever reason there were no screws securing the mobo(third party purchase).The very nice guy serving us installed screws and put everything back together! It was all free as well.Most definitely going there for anything service related.

I dropped my touchscreen laptop and shattered the screen. I went in and Cameron was so kind and calm. I told him that I just needed it in workable condition as I absolutely could not afford anything new right away. My notebook was so badly infected with viruses that I could barely manage to bootup or backup my documents. The guys at CDC did a quick diagnostic in the front, gave me a quick estimate and told me that the machine would be ready for pickup the next business day! CDC has been around forever and from the moment I walked in I felt reassured my computer was in good hands. As a former computer technician I could tell they were being honest with me. My 5 year old lenova 330 was updated to increase the speed by 10 times based on my demonstrated needs to more than meet my requirements at a cost of $245 verus cost of new computor $1000. Where do I even begin - they fix everything - they have technicians that are very skilled. I took a weebill S gimbal and they fixed it in less than 5hours - took my laptop that was screwed with by Cellular Walk-in Clinic and they fixed it. took another laptop for windows update and they fixed that for me to. Its one of the computer places I trust the most to get the job done 10/10 recommend them.

Very much a fine place to get your emergency repairs done or shopping for new items. I had a unique situation where a compeitor sold me a monitor with a power adapter that was under half the required voltage for the monitor.. Rather than ordering in a new product from LG and making me wait weeks, they custom built the required part and sent me on my way. Customer for life. Good Job Guys!

I came in with a stripped screw on the bottom case of my laptop. Cameron and another staff fixed it in less than 10 minutes, they even replaced the screw free of charge. They could have easily charged me for the quick service, but they just sent me on my way. If you want a professional, honest, and an affordable place for repairs, this is the place.

Excellent service! The auto feeder on my printer/scanner stopped working, and I couldn't figure out the cause.
