Horrible customer service from CIBC. This review applies to this branch as well as CIBC in general. I have been in a drawn out attempt to get a new credit card from CIBC as they take over the Costco card contracts from Capital One. This has been exacerbated by this bank. After have two replacement cards sent to the wrong address, one of which got sent to the wrong half of the country, I was told I could have a replacement card sent to a branch to pickup and that the branch would call me to let me know when the card was ready. After a few weeks of not hearing anything, I picked up my card over the past weekend and went to use it only to have the card number canceled. After calling CIBC to ask about the issue, I was told that a new card had been issued and would be arriving at the bank within a day or so. This will be the 4th card that has been sent out. I keep getting robo call from CIBC telling me to activate my card or my account will be canceled but I have not received a card to activate. I am not impressed with CIBC and I have lodged a formal complaint with their customer service department. 2 stars for the branch because the tellers have been very helpful whenever I come in to this branch in person.
Walked in with some problems of my card. I didn’t even get to explain the problem when the old lady starts whining about how she has absolutely no power in the world to do anything (what is she even getting paid for??) she told me to call online which I did and after a couple hours on hold I was told again that they couldn’t do anything and that I had to go in person. Now I had to go 5 days without having a card at all. It would’ve been so simple if she actually woke up and thought to herself “I’m getting paid to work here, let me do my job for once” but no, just tell everyone to call online. Clearly in her logic a bank doesn’t work with cards so I advise everyone to go to a different CIBC so you don’t end up with the annoying old lady like I did. Every other employee there is chill tho, props to you guys for actually doing your job
The experience was somewhat of a mixed bag. I believe CIBC has charged me extra fees for one of my transactions. So, I booked an appointment with an advisor. The advisor that I had an appointment with 2 weeks in advance, was not there that day. I got the email reminder from CIBC about the appointment on the previous day, and no one informed me that the Advisor would be unavailable. So the Advisor at the counter was working with me. And the Branch Manager Kris was prompt to issue me a credit, after consulting the fee schedule. He also promised to investigate further and get back to me later about the findings. (In case I have more transactions of the same type in the future) Overall, Meh to CIBC, and Kudos to Kris the Branch Manager for great customer service.
Depends on the person you go to! Branch has some amazing customer service staff. Ask for Gabriela! I also would like to make sure that Paul the manager gets a recommendation as well. One of the most important aspects of my banking experience is to understand exactly what im getting myself involved with. He has taught his team incredible ways in which he focuses on CUSTOMERS FIRST. If you ever need some help give him a shout. He is more than happy helping everyone out.
Came into the branch the other day and was helped by a lady named Gabriela. I was throughly impressed by the level of service she provided as I got the sense she actually cared about my issues and actively worked to resolve them and not brush me off as the branch was quite busy (unlike most other tellers). Overall very pleased with the level of customer service I received and will most definitely be coming back to visit her for any future issues!
My experience was very bad today dealing with the tellers. I came in to deposit some money and the girl helping me had to ask for help from an old European lady. The European lady was very rude and didn’t bother listening to my situation. She offered me her solution and refused to hear me out. I’d say definitely don’t go to this branch as the employees it seems that all the employees working there are uninterested and rude.
I had a meeting with financial advisor that was completely unqualified to deal with Investor's Edge questions. They did not follow corect procedure that resulted in 6 week delay in transaction that I wanted to initiate. Unfortunately, Investor's Edge requires some things to be done in person at a branch. Otherwise, I would have never dealt with CIBC "financial advisers".
I will go out of my way to drive across the city to bank that this CIBC location. The reason is that I find that I can always get consistently excellent service thanks to some of the staff here. This is predominantly because of Gabriela. She understands what I'm trying to do, has a problem solver mentality, and has the experience to know how to get it done.
We asked for cheque images for bank deposits they said it’ll be ready the next day. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t received anything. I ended up paying penalties and interest because of their slow service and inaccurate estimate of time needed. In my opinion CIBC is the worst bank. I don’t recommend banking with CIBC at all.
made me wait 45 mins to get a new card. the lady called someone talked to them for 40 mins than proceeded to tell me she cant verify my identity my drivers license and birth certificate wasn't good enough instead I need my Alberta health services card. I gave her the number wasn't good enough. If I could give 0 stars I would.
As a newcomer to Canada we were very pleased with the service we got on our first two visits. However when the staff member in question left for another branch and handed over our case and the numerous requests we had, it was simply dropped and we never heard back from them. Needless to say that we didn't go back.
Horrible customer service. the staff picking up the phone was very impolite and abusive and even did not give yes/no answer for a simple question until talking nonsense for 2 minutes in a aggressive way (the question was: do I need to have appointment to have letter about my mortgage?)
Started to request withdraw from RESP account for kid's university study on Aug. 27, still don't see the money today. At the first meeting, provided all required supporting documents. Into 26 days, other than soft words and promises, no money into account.
Excellent branch, great staff, very knowledgeable. State of the art, brand new location with incredible advanced services. Huge upgrade and move from previous location. This is how banking should be - very good experience every week. Thanks CIBC!
I called 10 CIBC branches in the Calgary area to make an appointment. Not even one branch answer the phone. You always hear the banking center leader's voice who state they want to help but never answer the phone!!! Can I give a zero ratings?
Paul the Manager is the best as well as Gabriela. It is so sad to see this little Branch gone that provided amazing service since Paul has become the Manager. We look forward to having their expertise and caring with CIBC in the future. jon
Deposited a bank draft and was not told by the teller that there would be a hold placed on it. When I returned to discuss the matter I was flat out refused any help, and told that the manager wasn't in that day (this was a busy Monday).
Came into the bank on Saturday at 10:30 am and the teller was VERY rude and didn’t want to help me. Looked at me like I’m bothering her whenever I asked a question. This is my current branch but I will be visiting another one for sure.
I like this branch. The tellers don't try to sell me products I don't want and they are happy to do their job. Every other CIBC branch I go to the tellers always tell me to use the ATM. If I wanted to use the ATM I would have done so.
This bank has great staff, always friendly and helpful. Small parking lot but there's always parking available when I visit. ATM drive thru entry is on the left, not circling behind the building so pay attention as you go.
This branch is always very helpful with all my banking needs and the staff are friendly, professional and supportive. Very good people working there and would recommend this branch anytime.
They have horrible customer service and they are very slow. If they tell you something will take one day that means it will take a month. CIBC is horrible. I NEVER recommend it to anyone.
While the original location near Varsity plaza wasn't ideal, this new location is atrocious to get into. They share an entry with A&W, which causes many problems with the drive thru line.
I was trying to do a withdrawal that needs a manager. They told me that the manager wasn’t there, then I figured out that he was there. Avoid CIBC bank go with other banks instead.
Brutal! Half hour wait in line and then the teller's computer had to reboot! Total 40 minutes at the bank for a 2 minute transaction! This is exactly why Bitcoin will take over!
We had TFSA account under GIC and they renewed without any notification to 0.5%. They didn't accept their fault and told us that we tried to contact you but didn't connected.
Matthew is very professional and helpful detail , most important he understand what the client need and solve the problem efficient .
I've been using this branch for so long, I'm extremely happy with the service and the staff are well knowledge and very helpful.
Thank you all. Such Happy willing to help. Just moved from the S.E. To here. They are just as Super here as at my S.E Branch.
Like a small town bank. They know me well and willing to help. Even on Saturday there is always someone there to help.
Very unfunctioal and great to make things complicated The tellers are nicers than the staff inside
Very kind and didn't discriminate me against my medical condition. Polite and quick service.
Can never get an appoint and they dont return voicemail. Im switching to RBC
Location is hard to get to. Parking challenging. Staff don't care.
Bad customer service. Never ever open bank account with cibc
Matt is a concerned and supportive banking representative.
It's a good bank, with helpful staff, and good hours!!!
NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE. Don’t waste your time
The staff here have always been lovely to deal with.
Always 1 teller open. Long waiting for ever
Says it's open on Saturday but it is not!
