Ever feel like you are intruding on someones time? This is how I felt after visiting this establishment on the morning of Saturday January 19th. I arrived just after opening and cheerily greeted the young lady putting out the store sign on the sidewalk. My greeting fell on deaf ears. I went inside with her and she says I'll be back to you. The store seems pleasant enough and smells great. When she did come back to me I explained I was a first time customer so please bear with me while I figure out what I want. A blank stare greets me. I had seen your website so there were a couple of items I wanted to try. Can I have a loaf with sun dried tomatoes please? We don't have that maybe another store. Then I inquired about a particular raisin bread. That's not ready yet. What do you have with raisins in it? Just this, pointing to a cooling rack. But it just came out of the oven. Great! Warm bread I'll take it. She seemed annoyed for some reason. Whats on the rack below that? She tells me. Ok I'll take that as well. Once again who wouldn't want warm bread? And once again she seems annoyed with me. She makes a comment to a worker behind her. “The pressure is on.” Pressure?? I'm your only customer. What pressure? Whenever I shop I strive to be cheery and understanding. It can be a difficult job. However no amount of pleasantries would work with this young lady. Some people are just not suited to work with the public and she may be one of them. Silence as my order was rung up and paid for. I left with a cheery “have a good day”. There was no response from her. I guess good customer service is becoming a thing of the past. Sad to see. The bread itself was good enough. However not good enough to warrant a return trip to this establishment. A short drive down the road takes you to another bakery, After being a customer there for years and years I will return once again for the selection and wonderful customer service. As for COBS? You only get one chance to make a good impression. Hopefully the owner will take note and teach the staff how to do that.
The worst cobs in edmonton. I dont know if owner has taught staff to skimp on toppings or what. But the icing on the pumpkin scones is as thin as a sheet of paper and the pizzas and everything always have less toppings and cheese than any other locations. Sometimes the scones are poorly mixed as well and last time i got a mouth full of baking powder/soda. The winterburn location is much better managed and owned and their items are truly made with care as cobs prides itself in. This location gives the company a bad name. Also one time saw a guy come into the store off his break or to start his shift and just came in and got behind the counter no hand washing or anything it was crazy. And the staff is not friendly at all.

I entered the Edmonton location, I was greeted with a civil hello. I was excited to try Cobs and I expressed to the staff that I hadn't been to Cobs before, but that their bakery came highly recommended by a friend. As I began to browse, none of the staff seemed to care to explain any of their products to me or talk me through their items. Next I asked if they carried bagels and one of the ladies looked at me, said no, and then turned and walked away. The store had no other customers at the time. I quickly bought some products with my fiancé and then left. Though their pastry could be great, their service could use some work. I definitely left feeling like I didn't want to come back to this unwelcoming environment.
I had had been having a few issues with recieving my birthday coupon this year - I had just learned there was a Cobs Bread app - but not only did the company reach out to me after I let them know my concerns about said coupon with such kind and attentive service, this location provided me with great service when I went to use my coupon. The young woman who I spoke with was very pleasant and happy to walk me through the process. Oh, and the cinnamon bun was DELICIOUS! Really hit the spot and gave me the proverbial fuzzies inside. I would definitely recommend this location. Thank you so much!
First visiting this location and certainly won't be the last. I found they had more of a selection of items than other locations. As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience. I found the staff to be both very friendly and welcoming. It will be one of the reasons for a return visit. Highly recommend!
I went to the location on 149 St and 88 av I believe it is, but was very frustrated with the service, the lady was very rude with us and was very disappointed experience. Another client came and she offered the promo for the day gave it to her bonus stamp and was very nice to her but for us she was pretty mean ☹️. We won't go back there ever again.
The baked goods are tasty as long as you don't buy a box with the date written in maker. Don't be fooled like I was, they didn't just forget to change the date when they stamped the box, the food was a day old. Every pastry was hard as a rock and we ended up throwing away the whole box. BEWARE!
supermarket quality bread pretending to be a local bakery. If you like supermarket bread, them this place is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with it. But, if you understand the difference between supermarket bread and bread baked by a proper bakery, don't go here. Try Bonton.
Shop was empty when I went. Click and collect located in the store on a separate trolley but you can also ring for them to bring it out. Hard to distance inside the shop but easy to see when there are others in there so you can wait your turn.
Wide assortment of baked goods. Extremely good quality. In addition to the great baked goods Cobb's deserves special nod for the large amount of donations they make to organizations who provide meals and lunches to the less fortunate. …
This is a great locally owned business that has amazing friendly staff. Their prices are good and I like the idea that all their unsold product is given away at the end of the day to local charities.
Great place. They had both if the that's U was looking for. Always the best. Highly recommend this bakery. They also donate what is left unsold at the end of each day to charity. Well done.
The baked goods here are great, everything I've purchased from COBS has been really good, but I especially love their cheese pull-apart loaf. The staff here is also incredibly friendly!
Its bread for the bread lover in all of us. Love the Cape seed, flax sourdough, chia white, oh, and great buns. Tasty desserts of the bread kind. I'm hungry just thinking about going.
Service is always friendly here... I have had the scones when they have been great, but last time I went they were a few days old. They weren't bad, but definitely weren't very good.
I find the butter tarts very expensive. e.g. 6 tarts for $10 and they fall apart too easily making them messy. Although they taste good, other tarts I've had are better.
Cobs has a wide variety of baked goods to choose from and a cozy atmosphere. The staff is polite, and everthing there is delicious. You should totally go there sometime.
My favorite bread used to be the sourdough cheese and garlic, but now it's the gourmet herb and garlic hamburger bon. It's delicious!!
Absolutely the best fresh bread in the City. Wonderful assortment of breads.... pastries etc. Good rewards program and great service.
We've never had a problem with thier customer service and Cobb's bread is the best, it tastes so fresh for days. Definitely worth it.
Cobs is always great quality. My wife looses her mind when they have the chocolate hot cross buns that come out once a year..haha.
Stopped in for a pastry and had their raspberry custard Danish with chocolate drizzle. It was amazing! I'll definitely be back
Their products are excellent, well baked, good flavor. They’re quick in serve and very polite. Highly recommend.
Fantastic bread, delectable desserts. Oh, and a very cute girl working the till ;-) Will definitely be back
Cobbs bakery is very good and they are a wonderful supporters of charities. They're tarts are amazing
delicious, very fresh and great quality. Love that they donate daily all leftover product
Usually bake our own bread but Cobs is excellent fill in when I get off track.
The staff is fantastic, and I always find my favourites in this location.
