Always excellent quality, super fresh, free samples every time I go in. Friendly knowledgable staff. Can have the loaf of your choice sliced thick or thin *not like some places where it's only one thickness (like Whole Paycheque on Cambie st for example). They bake up a large variety of breads including out favourite sourdough in either round form or more squarish loaf shape good for French toast and sandwiches for under $5 a loaf. Their hot cross buns at Easter time are delight, small so you eat a few or enjoy a nice taste without filling up on bun. Alongside traditional hotcross buns they serve up a chocolate version ~ delicious. I appreciate that they are open late for a bakery affording me the ability to grab a fresh loaf as late as 8:00 pm some days (when ya gotta have grilled cheese on sourdough with creamy tomato soup for late dinner...). Sharing open doors with Vera's Burgers it is a casual walk in and pick up with a bit of social potential if you run into peeps from the hood having a burger. I highly recommend everything about this Cobs location. The bread stays fresh tasting and delicious for at least a week or more but rarely stays around for a week at our house because bread isn't bread, bread isn't a thing... It's all just raw toast and we toast it up all the live long day hahaha.

First of all... the heavenly smell when you walk in, especially since I made an early morning stop (which their opening times are awesome to grab a fresh go-to Dark Rye Loaf for a wholesome breakfast) is literally incredible. Your wowed at the almost blinding golden crust everywhere whilst drooling like a dog. Their selection is great! All products made fresh with minimal and wholesome ingredients for a super yummy and fantastic grade product. The lady here literally made my day, super kind, approachable and upbeat. She offered to cut my Loaf for me and sliced regulard or thick. It was an absolute delight visiting this bakery this morning to he honest. I also love how Cobs gives back to the community through profits and their own initiatives, a great company is one that supports and allows other local businesses to leverage and thrive with them. You can so redeem Cobs rewards with your associated cell phone number, making earning free dough (Pun intended) a sure breeze. I also snagged some free taster of the hot cross bub, which you could say was the creme de la crumb! Cobs Bread is a big chain, but support local businesses and charities just like this fantastic business do!

This location has great products! I'm really enjoying the loaf of bread I just bought. Who wouldn't like a fresh loaf of cheddar garlic sourdough with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar? This location is great with the small exception of one guy that works there which has on at least two or three occassions been awkwardly abrasive with me. Maybe he owns the place I don't know, but for my personal shopping preference the service from that individual is a bit too much. If you like to just walk into a place, have a look around, and make a selection, or ask questions this might not be the best location. If on the other hand you enjoy walking into a small place to have an employee orchestrate your entire decision proccess like its some kind of game, and then pressure you when you wont play along than this is the spot for you. On a positive note, the location is fantastic, the store is very clean. The baking process is transparent. Great quality and tasty products. Recommended.

This bread bakery along main displays the excellence of artisan baking to the utmost. Large windows allow a glimpse into magic in the making as worker prepare delectable breads of various kinds and shapes. Down the block from Starbucks and next to Panago, this store holds its own as a champion of the baking craft. Offering samples on the street with various preparations of different varieties of their vittles is a wonderful treat. Upon recommendation, my wife and I tried the cranberry orange hotcross buns. To say the least, the melt-in-your mouth buttery bun with slightly sticky-sweet orange and sweet-tart craberries are perfectly balanced in this bun. Do recommend! Among the many breads to choose from, they have staple breads, snack breads and sweet breads. A flavor profile for anyone looking to satiate their desire for carbs!

Whoever comes to this main st location, please check all the items you bought are there. They purposely miss items here. A month ago, I came to purchase a scone and cinnamon bun. An asian lady with an accent employee gave me the box with the cinnamon bun. She then never gave me the scone until I told her you forgot the scone. Today, July 4, at 815am, the same employee served me. I bought the same items and she did the same thing. Didn't give me the scone until I asked for it. I also did notice that she looks at the screen twice and still forgets an item. Doesn't make sense at all. If she only forgets once, I believe she is having an off day. But forgetting twice I believe she is doing it on purpose so she can take take the bakery afterwards. I saw other comments below saying that items are missing too.

I've been three 3 times Service***** 5 Stars for the young employees and the products. Service * only 1 Star for The middle age bitter lady. I ran to make it to the bakery just at the moment She was about locking the door. She we are close. May I Just quickly have a couple loaf of bread. She replied No and she walked Away turning back and giving me that awful bitter look like telling me she won and she is in control. Sad to deal with a bitter person. I went back the following week and was served by the young sweet employees. They make a Very good German sour Rye bread like in Germany. I still go back but never to deal with the bitter employees.

My shopping habits have changed since Covid and I’ve rediscovered purchasing bread from Cobs. Over the past few months I’ve bought over 2 doz. loaves of sunflower flax sourdough, cape seed, and apricot bread. I was surprised that it wasn’t till my most recent visit that I was offered a frequent shoppers stamp card. I could’ve earned a couple of free loaves by now! Oh well, still love the bread and will still continue to shop here. Friendly service. Get yourself a stamp card!

On sunny days, it's impossible to walk by this shop, doors open, and not want to stop in for some baked goods! Bought their Spinach & Feta Croissant, and a selection of mini pastries. They were very tasty (blueberry, raspberry, apple, and chocolate croissant) and had a decent amount of filling! The service was friendly and staff gave a sample of their focaccia bread. While it's not as affordable as your supermarket bread and pastries, the quality shows.

Come in the mornings for freshly baked bread that's still warm. I find their sweet pastries a little too sweet but that's probably a preferences thing. Their ham and cheese croissant confusingly sweet as well. Their pizzas are a bit tough once they get cold/the next day but are delicious fresh. My favourite items are the pullaparts. They're so soft inside and the flavours are so good. Consistently friendly, patient staff.

  • d h

Same great bread....like, now, I mean real bread with that long-forgotten real flavour. The pastries also are very tempting for the more carefree, which unfortunately, leaves me out. I did catch a small free sample of a cinnamon bun, though, and was not left without a twinge of a need for more. The merchandise does cost about 30% more here, but like somebody once proclaimed: " ya gets what ya pays fer"

  • Eva Lin

Really disappointed with my last few visits. I don’t check what I get when I get handed my bread, because I expect great quality and fresh bread, but the last 3 visits I’ve been handed burnt loaves of bread. I only started noticing when I start eating it. Now I’ll always check any COBS I go to. Going to another location to purchase bread from now on. Really sad as this is my go to place for bread

  • Keith Black

I went to Cobb's on Main St. I bought there plain white bread because they don't have the big flour loafs like the other Cobb's bakeries. I was very disappointed, it was very small but the same price as the big flour loaf's at other Cobb's bakeries & not good. Wonder bread at Canadian Super Store is the same. No where near the quality or size of breads as Cobb's in Richmond. Not pleased!

  • Jan Li

Love this local neighbourhood bakery. Their Turkish bread and cape seed loaves are amazing, as are the burger buns. The staff are always super friendly and helpful when we've asked for recommendations or letting us try something if we weren't sure. More expensive than grocery store selections but would happily pay for the freshness and great service we always receive!

  • Jacqueline James

You would love visiting this place and their amazing selection of freshly made and delicious breads! I even drooled in my mind because every bread looks like it would have an amazing taste (and they do). The prices were even affordable! It was a perfect bread place! The staff were also helpful and prompt. I often get their buns and rolls for our family's food supply.

  • Richard Dalgleish

Nice little spot to come get some fresh bread. I don’t know where you usually go but I really like this spot, something about it just brings you back to those days back on the farm where you literally would watch the wheat grow. Amazing how we have come so far, hope the same can be said for muffin baking. Ahh anyways. Love the spot, thanks for everything.

  • James Campbell

I love to come to COBS every other day and order 4 hamburger buns for my lunch sandwiches. I make a different sandwich everyday and from tuna to peanut butter the buns makes the sandwiches taste delicious and they just met in your mouth. They always have yummy samples to try and the hardest thing to do is not over buy things when in the store.

  • L C

Amazinnnggggg pateries here!!! We’ve visited a few places such as purebread and found the food there hard and expensive. This place was so good and inexpensive. Would STRONGLY recommend the cinnamon bun there….omg couldn’t get enough of it. Everything was fresh and tasty…come here for an amazing experience with food

  • Alan Chang

This place always hands out free samples. Be careful once you try their samples you will 100% be hooked. I'm not even a bread person and all I did was try one piece of their flaxseed sourdough bread and now I crave it all the time and my life is empty without it. It's so good you can even eat it plain.

  • Brian C.

Unbelievable tasty and delicious fresh baking good"s. They offer free samples and whatever they offer for samples I end up buying. The store is very clean and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for freshness and quality baking products.

We just bought some desserts for a party at cobs and john was the nicest guy ever! We almost had to walk out because we couldn’t find what you’re looking for then he showed us a few suggestions and it worked out perfectly. Very nice to get this type of service !

  • Nahid Sarhaddi

I love their sourdough buns and loafs! One of my favourite bakeries. I recommend it. BTW, their staff are very nice and friendly and last time when I went, it was 15 min after their closing time, but the guy let me in and I did my shopping. …

  • Richard Keith

Just awesome freshly made breads. Was lured by the scent of baking bread from a block away. Awesome & helpful staff. The cinnamon roll was basically a chewy cinnamon candy bread. Ordered with or without icing. Mouth watering. Reasonable prices

  • Abby

They have a great variety of bread ranging from sweet to savory. Price wise I would say it is reasonable considering they make really good bread (the scones are my personal favorite). The service is also really great with very friendly staff

Best tasting sourdough I’ve ever had :D I thought I was getting good bread from Uprising Breads “30 year old company” but first time trying Cobs today and absolutely blown away by the thin sliced “sourdough” bread.
