I went down today to pick up a prescription for a friend recovering from Covid. The prescription was called in yesterday. When she called to see if it was ready they told her I would need to bring her ID, although none of what she was getting was a controlled substance. An hour ago I went down to get the prescription, handed them her ID and was told wasn't ready yet, and they were running about a week behind. They said it might be a week before it was ready but they might be able to rush it. When I asked if they could call me when it was ready, they said they were too busy and couldn't, I'd just have to check back. When I inquired about them needing the ID, the pharmacist now said they didn't need it. I was sure to let them know that because they originally told her to have me bring her ID I had to go get the ID, which both people at the pharmacy handled bare handed, from someone who had just left the hospital recovering from a Covid infection. Not exactly the wisest thing to have to do. I wonder why they even bother taking new prescriptions if they're unprepared to handle them in a timely manner. At least they should let people know when it's called in so they can make an informed decision, especially if it needs to be filled in a hurry. I don't fault the one overworked pharmacist for the timing, but I do fault CVS for not hiring enough help and for taking a prescription when they were already so behind. A footnote. While I'm writing this my friend texted me and said they just let her know it was ready. Still we won't be using that place again.
Review is mainly for pharmacy. Don't go here if you have time sensitive medication. I've finally decided to switch locations after so many instances of waiting on prescriptions. Quite often I'd come after work -- won't be ready until 7pm. No big deal, I'll come back later or just come tomorrow. Show up the next day and "we're still getting it together". Okay, well it was supposed to be ready last night, can you get it in 15? I feel bad because the customer facing workers are just trying to do their job and are probably overworked. But I can't tell you how many convos are overheard while I wait that are of the same vein. Frustrated, but patient people have the same conversation about trying to pick up the previous day and being told it would ready today. Occasionally the pharmacist hears me check in after my script (should have) been ready for 3 days, and then he prioritizes to get it filled. I have no idea how their operations work -- but they clearly don't have it figured out and the workers checking in scripts have to suffer people's (understandable) frustrations. I've been able to keep my cool because it's usually just an inconvenience of time looking for parking and it not be ready. But my health is not impacted by a missed script. I worry for those who have more serious needs.
I never thought I would feel the need to leave a review for this CVS store where I have been visiting for 2 years, but here we go. An Asian store employee who checked out my items were extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. We are talking about loudly yawning while slurring words out like a child, yelling “WHAT” in my face and cutting me off, and passive aggressively commenting “it’s a YES or NO question” while I was selecting my receipt option on the screen. Checking out 3 items at a store is brief experience that takes less than 3 minutes, and yet somehow this woman found every possible way to upset the customer. Sure, I understand folks are looking forward to going home when there are only 20 minutes left of their shift, but I really think there is no need to be shoving so much attitude and animosity in customers’ faces. If your store really cares about what you do, do better. I was too unimpressed to remember this woman’s name but feel free to find out who she is on Tuesday, September 26 during 8:35-8:45PM. According to my receipt, this was Denise.
I've had positive experiences with the staff at this CVS, and a negative experience with the manager. CVS is supposed to have a guarantee on beauty products... (from their website) " 100% satisfaction guarantee on beauty purchases Be 100% happy or receive 100% money back on any beauty products. If you're dissatisfied for any reason, you can return the beauty product (opened or unopened) along with your receipt or invoice to any CVS Pharmacy store. " However, the manager refused to allow me to return a beauty product I didn't like, even though I brought the receipt. I felt like I was being talked down to as if I was being unreasonable or petty. I felt like I was being polite and a reasonable customer, following the normal etiquette and return policy, so I felt like the response I received didn't match my request. I won't be returning to this cvs if I can help it.
This pharmacy is the worst. They are close to where I live, but I go across several neighborhoods to the CVS in TARGET. I got a new med today that can’t be shipped so I sent it to the closer pharmacy. This pharmacy told me that they were gonna charge me over $200 for my script. I told them I have coupons from my doc, and that the Target CVS quoted me $25 -.- They refused to take the same coupons their colleagues can take, were SUPER rude about it and the wait time to reach someone is wild compared to the Target CVS. I’m not sure if the pharmacy is just staffed with creeps, or if the location is grossly underfunded. There’s no excuse for the SAME company to deny me at one location without reason. Apparently this isn’t an uncommon tactic. So while I’m writing this review, know that right after I am calling corporate.
Honestly the best customer service at the pharmacy as well as checkout - I was supremely impressed. And when does that ever happen at a drugstore?? Rarely! Whoever is the hiring manager here deserves a shoutout for helping find such an excellent team, and of course huge appreciation goes to all the employees here who went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed before leaving the store (on multiple occasions) including taking the time to make sure I used coupons to get some big savings I hadn’t expected. Every staff member I spoke with was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful, even around closing time when I’m sure they’d had a long day. Been going to CVS stores for years, all over Northern CA and whatever they’re doing differently at this location I wish every store would take notes.
Tried to get 2 Covid tests covered via insurance. The cashier had me buy the Covid tests first, then go to the pharmacy to get it covered. Spent an hour waiting at the pharmacy while the person helping gave no guidance on the overall process. Once I finally was able to check out, the person told me tht I couldn’t get the payment reimbursed, and that I had to do it at the cashier. When I waited back in line for the cashier, she told me that they don’t do returns for Covid tests. I wasted an hour for literally no reason. Terrible customer service.
you guys have an employee who trued to fight me after poking his nose into an argument I was having with someone else a month ago, and this wasn't in a store at all, it was on the street away fromt he store, I didn't know he even worked there, then I come In today and he's over here telling everyone I tried to hit him even tho he was the one starting a fight, and said I can never come in again. I never did anything wrong at the store so idk y I'm being banned by him. doesn't make sense. someone please get back to me
If you have an ups package says delivered there and ready for pick up, they don’t have it. The staff did not check, says it’s not there, ups doesn’t deliver on Saturday. The manager also did not look, told me it’s not there. Called UPS and UPS told me it’s there for pick up. I also was home all day and didn’t see the ups tried to ring the door at all but just leave a slip. So who’s lying ? Who’s paying for all these?? Who’s being yelled at? Who is being told one thing and different thing ? Your customer.
I don't know why there are so many horrible reviews of this CVS. Everyone that works here is so very friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience in the 10 years I've been going there. The pharmacy is wonderful, like a local pharmacist that knows you and goes out of their way to help. One time I came in 30 minutes after they had closed but they were still closing up, and the pharmacist checked me out anyway. They almost always have what I need in stock. Recommend.
Four stars because it's kind of on the small side. But listen, the lower haight has a community feel to it, and this CVS is no exception. At first, we were weirded out that the employees were so extroverted and chatty when you walked in the store, but now we kind of like it. They are super friendly and funny and nice and they've definitely accomplished the neighborhood feel. I can appreciate that. Just wish this place were a little bigger. Good in a pinch, though.
Once more, the staff here doesn't seem to really care about patients. Even the simple and basic "hello + how are you doing today and how can help you today?" doesn't seem to be on the agenda...It feels like a misfit for a "caring" company where employees wear name tags starting with "How can I help you?" They are certainly overwhelmed so not blaming them but it would be nice to see some alternative places popping up beside the typical outdated CVS or Walgreens...
Worst drug store I’ve ever experienced. I live a block away so go there often. Whomever does their buying needs to step up. They are consistently out of common items like ice packs, tampons and cleaning supplies. As the only store in the neighborhood you’d expect them to stock these things but instead they focus on beverages and candy. Pharmacists are also rude and unwilling to help patients find relevant items to complement care.
This CVS sends text messages saying your prescription is ready before they have started. 100% of the time when I arrive they haven't started it yet. I've even called ahead and used their automated system to let them know I was coming, still nothing. Seems it's their process to only start once you've physically shown up, at which point they will make you wait 45+ mins. Total waste of time and disrespectful.
I've had stellar experiences at CVS at Haight. I go to get my moms prescriptions from them and they go above and beyond to help with questions, additional help. They care and want to make it work for you. Special shout out to Terry and Christine who helped troubleshoot a delivery issue I had. Thank you, it's super helpful since it difficult for my 75-year old mom to figure this stuff out. Much appreciated.
I get that theft is an issue here but it made me really uncomfortable shopping here and being followed. I'm an indecisive person and am trying to watch what I eat/snack on so sometimes I linger while reading labels...that doesn't make me a thief. Definitely profiled because of the color of my skin by a thick b#%^ with a darker complexion than mine. Screw this place, I'll find a Walgreens to shop at.
CVS on Fillmore St., San Francisco treated me perfectly this morning (12-16-22). I am very sick with a virus & had to come out to get Dr recommend meds. Alvin helped me with kindness, care & professionalism. He found everything I needed & made sure I was set. He was so very nice & that means a lot to a sick Senior like me. He noted coupons that saved me $, too. I am very lucky he was there.
This is a small version of CVS. Debra is my fave check out SuperHero! Small selection of cosmetics, over priced prescriptions.. weird selection of items available. Many items you care about are often sold out and the things you want are ridiculously expensive. It's a convenient location if you live in Lower Haight or take the 22 Fillmore bus and get off at Haight Street. It's on the corner.
I am virtually never delighted by the service here. They rarely pick up the phone, rarely have my prescriptions ready on time, will frequently not even have them ready when I come back a second time, always a line at the pick-up counter, there can be four workers and you’ll still get silently ignored for 5-10 minutes, etc. I switched to Safeway on Fillmore and am much happier with them.
+1 to the reviewer who simply said ‘apocalyptic’ From food/beverage to heath/beauty items, there is barely any stock on the shelves. Perhaps a security measure, many products only have 1 single item on the shelf.. it looks like they are going out of business. Or maybe everything was stolen already? The pharmacy is always overwhelmed and woefully understaffed. I feel bad for them!
I don't tend to write reviews that often unless something stands out, but what stands out here are the staff. The folks here are exceptionally nice, helpful, thoughtful and care about making you feel welcome. They always say when you walk in with a genuine smile, they check-in if you have questions, and they look out for you, recommending deals and so on. Great people :)
The pharmacy is useless. They don't refill orders on time and are always out of stock even though your refill is a monthly one. They change your prescription without telling you, then they refuse to take it back and refund you even though it's their mistake. The female pharmacist there never gives you a straight answer and does it with the most judgmental expression.
Very conveniently located CVS with a great selection of household items and food. The staff have greeted me warmly every time and are very attentive to customer needs and requests. I was in the store when several incidents with disruptive customers occurred and the security response has always been prompt and effective. I cannot recommend this CVS location enough.
I have been on hold for over 4 hours just today alone. I have tried going through the system every way I possibly can and not a single representative will answer my call. This is extremely frustrating and I am being detrimentally affected due to the fact that I cannot obtain my Rx. Wish I could give it zero stars.
AVOID THE PHARMACY. Always long lines, unfriendly & slow staff, won’t ring up non Rx items, the counter always looks filthy, and super long hold times-currently waiting 15+ min for someone to answer the phone. Oh, and the store itself is always out of common items. Seriously, what is going on at this place?
I don't know what the negative reviews are about. I've been here many times over the past year. No, the staff are not rude, they are just doing their job and they have been helpful whenever I needed help. Maybe they just don't show the (typical) exaggerated and fake niceness that some other stores have.
I was followed by sercuity may 17,2019 around 10pm. He refused to stop following after I told him that I will pay please leave me alone. He refused and just stood there watching me as I was shopping for tampons. Which is a extremely senestive thing for a woman. Thank god I even got the right ones.
Multiple times my prescription has not been ready even after 24 hours notice. Once they told me to come back in 30 mins for my prescription and when I returned they were all shut down for another 30 min break in the middle of the afternoon. People need their meds! I’m switching to Walgreens.
Excellent customer service at the CVS on Haight. Both the pharmacy tech and the store employee I interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful - Kudos to them for creating an unexpectedly delightful experience :) I live nearby, and I’m grateful that this is my local drug store!
I think every person at the pharmacy must be abused. They’re horrible. Literally every single person I’ve ever interacted with has been rude. Especially the chick with the colorful hair. Now the rest of the workers are sweet as pie. Just avoid the pharmacy if you can.
It's a normal CVS. Mostly go for the pharmacy but they got most of the other stuff you'd expect them to have as well, just check online on their site for availability. Staff was helpful when I needed help finding something. No clue why it has such a low rating.
Went for passport photo which was a service on its website. The stuff was inpatient and told us the camera was broken long time ago. I would suggest removing the non existing service from the website or fix the camera!! Especially you had the time to do so!
The pharmacy at this CVS is awful, they consistently don’t check/fill orders until you show up (despite the orders being sent many hours before) and/or say that they don’t have the order until you have your doctor call to confirm
I paid for a passport Photo and they did it bad. Actually they give you a "Certificate for Biometric Passport Photos" that says everything is ok but when you validate your photo using the tool it says your photo is invalid.
There's a NEW Pharmacy in town. @ years and 3 months after 499 Haight burnt down , CVS has moved back into the old walgreen's space. Pharmacy , Household products, grocery items, Come on in and check it out.
Convenient drug store in Lower Haight neighborhood. I have never had to wait in line more than two minutes at this location which is why I prefer going there as opposed to other locations in the city.
Showed up with 6 minutes to closing to buy a specific product I knew they would have, lazy staff had the doors closed and said they didn't have it. Standard hourly pay mentality. Appalling attitude.
RIP Walgreens...If you want expired oj and asprin only this is the place. Their lack of stock is ludicrous. Good with calling front store. Head to walgreens church and market or safeway neighbor!
They were quite nice and exceptional customer service when I had an error in my purchase receipt from 10 days prior. Staff was helpful in correcting a credit that even I couldn't figure out !
Pharmacy closed and would not let me pick up my prescription despite having been in line for 15+ minutes prior to closure. Do not send prescriptions here if they are time sensitive.
I was very satisfied with my service at cvs...I didn't like that alot of the store was locked up but I understand especially with the area they must experience alot of shop lifting
These guys are the best! Accommodating and sweet as pie. They will do whatever they can to make sure you get what you need AND at a reasonable price:) I heart discount pharmacy.
Pase x mi medicación y están tan ocupados Tengo 1hora y media y todavía no me dan mis medicinas que horror y solo 3 personas atendiendo en la farmacia nunca avía esperado tanto
I live in the neighborhood so I stop in a lot. Even though it's a "chain store" it has that local owned business atmosphere thanks to the friendly, helpful employees.
The staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly . They were out of a few products I was looking for and assured me they would order more next time to accommodate .
Sure it’s hard to get used to asking for help for everything you need at the drugstore. But the service is really good. Screw Walgreens I’m happy I changed to CVS.
We got scammed by being subscribed to some monthly subscription service we didn’t ask for then only received 2 passport photos when we requested 4.
Awful photo quality. Just trash. Ordered prints (some from high quality professional digital photographers) and they are blurry. So disappointed.
Would've spent money there but to get some ice cream for my kids waited infront of a locked case. Staff not answering the call button and left.
I’ve never been able to call this pharmacy, I sit on hold for hours. This place is perpetually understaffed, avoid if you value your time.
Sucks, people who work there are idiots, security is lame, every day they get robbed. Not the same as when first opened at all.
The workers do not help the customers, they should improve the staff or replace them, only the two girls serve well
My local Corner Store & Pharmacy , You can your house hold cleaning Supplies, to Your Favorite Toiletries.
Took over 4 days to fill my prescription for a sickness. By the time it was ready it was no longer needed
Cashier pushed the extra care membership. Put down bogus info, and it was more difficult to cancel.
This store will be closing in January 11 2024. Goodbye Haight street CVS it has been fun time.
This isn’t for CVS, it’s for Google. The hours are wrong. CVS opens at 8am not 7am. Aurgh
The clerks genuinely are kind and sincere in helping customers find what they need.
The Staff here are so friendly and helpful. EVERY TIME we go in.
Absolutely rude service from employee James and also pharmacy
No passport photos here. They don’t have the camera.
They sell almost expired medical products.
The staff are especially friendly!
Its CVS what did u expect?
Jean she did good
Really friendly
No restroom. FU
