We came three days in a row. All the days the staff members were very pleasant and helpful since we did not know French. The first day we tried the donuts (sugar & mint and amaretto pistachio) and they were delicious! The ham sandwich was also very tasty. They didn’t have any donuts on the shelf on the second day but we had a blueberry lemon pastry and the veggie sandwich and they were also good. The third day we had two more donuts - tiramisu and ceramise - both very good - the cream inside was light and not too sweet.

This is an update. This coffee shop is still really awesome. They're only a couple of negative points. One is at the washrooms are downstairs and this makes it impossible for anyone with mobility issues to use the washroom. Another is that the music is somewhat benign and rather too soft. The problem with soft benign music is that you tend to get a lot of people using the space as an office or a study space, which is quite different from a coffee shop, encouraging socialization . Louder and more specific music like some vibrant Quebec music or anything transforms the place into a more social experience. I love the cafe. Great meals, great service and all around. Great atmosphere.

I dropped into Cafe Saint-Henri for a coffee and to kill a little bit of time before local attractions opened, and ended up being tempted with something to eat as well. The clean lines of the design have a Scandinavian feel; with the seating including a combination of benches facing out to the street (largely filled by people making use of the wifi and tapping away at their computers) and more social, perhaps what you would call communal tables through the middle. Nice vibe, solid wifi, tasty snack, quality coffee, although speed of service was a little non-plussed (but granted this was not a huge issue for me on this visit, as I was in no rush).

Unbelievable coffee from an outstanding location. Visited one of the sister stores in Montreal a few months back so knew that we were going to get good coffee. The service was outstanding, with the barista so friendly and accommodating with all the different questions we had. We were given our recommendations of what coffees to have based on our preferences. A two person chemex pourover was shared between my wife and I and cappuccinos and lattes by the rest of the group. All were phenomenal, so we'll prepared. The pastries are delicious too and made a great breakfast. Great space to come and have a coffee or work for the day off your laptop.

Worth going out of your way. The coffee scene in St. Roch district is amazing and this and Nektar coffee Shop are two of the best. House made doughnuts are “the best I ever had” so said my 14 year old. They are little works of art. Espresso was perfectly pulled with a side of sparkling water. I could really taste the coffee notes. Cappuccino foam was silky and the art is very appreciated. Definitely worth a visit.

I wish I could give more than five stars! Saint Henri was within walking distance of our Airbnb & we'd been in Montreal, so we knew it'd be good. My French is pretty rusty, but the barista even HELPED me & gave me pointers to help me order in the future. It was such a fun experience -- obviously the coffee & pastries are incredible too. Absolutely would recommend...I will definitely be back!

Great experience. Friendly staff and but mostly professional, they can answer to all the questions you have about coffees, grinders, extractions, espresso machines etc… They also offer some courses, like introduction to latte art which I took and honestly I’d like more practice. Don’t forget to try the donuts!

Hands down best coffee we have had in the city. I wish we found this cafe earlier. The beans taste freshly roasted with no bitterness. The barista actually knows how to froth dairy free milk unlike the other cafes that froth it too foamy. Love the look of the place with a minimalist vibe yet lots of sunlight and some greenery. If you care about the quality of your coffee look no further you need to try this place.

Absolutely wonderful bakery! We ate here for breakfast a few times on our recent trip to Quebec City and liked everything we tried from croissants to donuts! This place was better than some of the more well known bakeries.

One word: Perfection! Baristas here care about the result: your coffee. The flavour profile of their beans is a crowd pleasure and it marries perfectly with milk - no hardcore third wave coffee here. The espresso shot is spot on (no bitterness, sweet and flavourful) and all latte based coffees are faultless. I normally visit in the morning and the two female baristas keep delivering the same good taste day after day; consistency, I love it.

  • Vladi Goodman

This is definitely 5 star coffee experience. This rating based on coffee quality and overall experience. Coffee is professionally balanced and made from fresh roasted beans. Espresso - very smooth and delicious for my taste. Beautiful space, coffee served in professional cups, which enhances coffee experience. Very friendly professional service! I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a true coffee experience.

  • Steve Haerr

Nice and friendly, clean place. English is easily spoken when needed. Pretty pastries, but not always a huge selection of them if it's later in the morning, which is understandable. A good place to recharge before heading back up the hill into old Québec from the Metro market.

Perfectly crafted cortados, served with a small cup of sparkling water to wash out the last sip—always a welcome touch. Croissant was also flaky and fresh. Spacious café with plenty of seating, ideal for getting some work done or meeting with friends. Will be back for more!

When the morning is cold and the philosophers of the evening's bacchanal recount their dark visions, stumbling in the open air of Rue Saint Joseph, Café St. Henri breaks the fast with exquisite donuts and espresso worthy of Barista competitions. Enjoy the donuts, croissants, and do take home a bag of HolyCow Espresso No. 11. Fairly paid, fairly traded, exquisite acidity, and fantastic crema!

  • Jessica O

Beautiful little spot, but let’s be honest, I came for the donuts! I was quite impressed; there was a larger array of options than you normally see which is amazing but also some of the most interesting flavours and flavour combinations I’ve seen yet with any of the donuts I’ve tried. Even the combinations that seemed risky (honey and cedar for example) totally hit the mark.

  • Rose LaBreche

If you like donuts, definitely stop here and come early. The tiramisu flavour was one of the best donuts I’ve ever tried (and I eat a lot of donuts). The cafe in general has a great atmosphere - good to do a bit of work in an open concept space. The cappuccino I had only was offered in one size - it was quite small, bitter, and $4.15.

Huge warehouse styled cafe - beautiful space. The wood and styling gave the space a sophistication whilst the folks here are very passionate about their coffee. A solid four stars as the house beans were a tad bitter and the ambience featured too much heavy handed dishes being cleared. I arrived close to closing time and perhaps the staff were a tad more laxed.

  • Natalya

Great place with amazing atmosphere. Enjoyed spending time there reading a book and drinking coffee. Their panini is really tasty and latte is amazing. The place is full of light, so you just want to stay there on a cold winter day. The staff is really friendly and helpful always ready to help if you have any questions. I would definitely cone again

  • Elliott Godin

Excellent espresso. Carefully measured, and consistently pulled. Tastes exactly the same each time (which is exactly what you want). Also lovely service! Bright, airy and beautiful inside. The donuts were delightful! I'm not sure where they get them from, but I would strongly recommend. Just fyi, they told me the donuts don't arrive until 9:30-10am.

  • G P

It was okay. Came in the afternoon, almost no donuts left (understandable), but there were flies everywhere on the food which I found pretty gross. Tea was fine. Seemed understaffed at the time I went and there was a long line since there was only one person behind the bar. Guy serving us was kinda sassy/rude.

Very cozy and modern cafe in Qc! I love its ambience so much. Tea is authentic and home-made donuts are really tasty. Don’t forget donuts with coffee! Also, all the staffs in this cafe were so friendly and kind. I want to visit this cafe again if I can go to Quebec again. I envy residents in quebec that they can visit this cafe whenever they want!

  • Constance Fodé

This coffee shop a suggestion in the Th3rd Wave app and I was definitely not disappointed! The london fog with coconut milk was delicious. The barista is super friendly and have a lot of skill, you'll more likely to have a swan in you latte that the traditional heart! There is a lot of seats and light to study, read or catch up with friends.

  • Ali Arshad

I don’t know what beans they use but that cappuccino was exquisite in every sense of the word. Not sure about the rest of the menu but if you like your Italian coffee you owe it to yourself to try the cappuccino.

The coffee is incredibly smooth, and this sounds like hyperbole, but those were genuinely the best donuts I've ever had. Unbelievably fresh, and unlike other boutique donuts, these were not insane with the toppings, not overly sweet; just masterfully made. I wish they had the donuts in Montreal.

  • Martha Wilson

Wow. I am so impressed with this café! The quality of everything is high: the pastries are perfect (try the pear and chocolate one), the coffee and other drinks are beautifully made (skilled baristas) and the people were very welcoming. Plus, the mood is modern, but calm. I will be coming back!

  • Sam Palace

You can tell that the people who work here are professional baristas. It's very important for me to start the day with a good coffee. They make excellent Cappuccino and lattes. It is probably also the blend they use. Great place to read the paper or bring your laptop. Has a great vibe. Merci

  • Riddhi Shah

Wow!! Amazing coffee shop and probably the best croissant I have ever had. The coffee was simply amazing and the place was clean, big and amazing to meet a friend or spend a few hours working/reading a book. Highly recommend the Saint Roch area in general and certainly this coffee shop.

An absolute highlight of our Quebec City put stop, Saint Henri has unbelievable espressos and baked treats to match. The atmosphere is awesome and the people are friendly. Set up to accommodate anyone, sit here and relax while enjoying some very delicious coffee.

Nice boulangerie. We especially enjoyed the croissants, almond croissants, and donuts. Cappuccinos were a bit bitter for my taste, but the croissants were exceptionally flakey. Conveniently located next to a grocery store. In a fun neighborhood. Recommended!

This will be my go to place for a work day and for their amazing donuts that pairs wonderfully well with their coffee. The donuts are fresh and vanish quickly off the counter if you are not early. My favorite is the kiwi donut.. can’t wait to go back here

I was recommended by a local. I was not disappointed. I'll be back....! Situated at the end of a very busy and scenic road full of shops, restaurants and various tourist attractions this was really a gem of a place to relax after all the excitement.

Clean, European-inspired aesthetic. Excellent coffee beans available for purchase to take home. Very knowledgeable staff. In-house prepared coffees are very good. An all around fantastic experience. Oh, and one more thing...doughnuts made in house.

We had their coffee, tea, donuts, and croissants which were absolutely incredible. I would personally say they have the best baked goods and drinks. It's a must stop in Quebec city! The staff were incredibly kind and professional as well.

  • Zeena Kaddoura

The design of the cafe was very unique and artistic. The staff was friendly but the service was really slow. I got a iced coffee with macadamia milk which was good, I just wish the portion was a little bigger. Overall good experience.

  • Ana Moaz

Came here for a matcha latte and ended up getting a dozen of their donuts. They are so pretty and very delicious, I had to try them all! The spot is really nice too and seems like the perfect place to bring your laptop and work/study.

  • Florian Golemo

The place is excellent for a coffee, a snack or to work. The ambience is artsy and slightly hipster but cozy. The coffee (double espresso) was great, and so was the prosciutto-cheese croissant. Service is friendly too. Can recommend

  • Jon Maningas

Perfect morning stop! Place was young and a bit of the hipster vibe. Young crowd, very good croissant and almond croissant. Unfortunately we were too early to get the donuts and returned too late. 100% returning to get the donuts.
