One of our all time favorite places to eat in Houston. The owner is Catherine and she is working most days. The food is a savory and rich classic Belgium style food that is unlike anything else in the city. We've tried everything on the menu and love it all but often get the mixed veggie plate, the mussels, and the beef stew. Must try the French fries with the mayo they make. Our daughter is obsessed with the spaghetti.

Cafe Brussels is a quaint, cozy restaurant with lots of Belgian art on the walls. The menu isn't too big nor too small, and the french onion soup was absolutely delicious. French onion soup is one of my favorite foods, I've gotten it at countless restaurants, and this might be the best I've ever had. Make sure to try the caramelized apple crepe, too. It's not as thin as a typical crepe and the crispy caramelized edges are worth fighting over, if you're sharing.

My wife and I stoped by Cafe Brussels for lunch on Sunday at around 1pm. We ordered the onion soup, chicken croquettes, cordon bleu, classic Brussels waffle and every single dish was absolutely delicious! The customer service was excellent and the atmosphere buzzing with live music and people have a wonderful time! We will be back time and time again to this beautiful gem!

Great selection of beers. The food was authentically Belgian. Started with the escargots in a delicious garlic butter and the french onion soup. We ordered the tenderloin steak with peppercorn sauce and the salmon with bernaise. Phenomenal Belgian fries too! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Can't wait to come back and try the moules!

Amazing place with amazing staff! The owner was super nice and the hostess was awesome too. Food was incredible. Randomly stumbled across it for lunch and we decided to come back for a date night. We would like to try so much more of the menu. This was a cool experience I think a lot of people will enjoy.

The chicken croquettes were delicious and fresh out of kitchen. The chicken cordon blue was delicious as well as the meatloaf my husband had. The beer was SOOo perfect with our meal. Then a perfect ending with Pistachio ice cream, whipped cream and HOT dark Belgium chocolate!!

Delicious food, great beer, excellent service, in a lovely setting. I got the omelette with fries and a glass of Duvel. Great selection of Belgian draft beers and Belgian food specialities. But they do charge for it. Whew. First time I've paid over $10 for a glass of beer since France. I'll definitely be back, but I'll have to save up for it.

A menu that caters to folks that love rich foods and rich, filling, old world beers from top Belgium brewers. The escargot is amazing because of how tender and large the meat is...and honestly, I always go for one of their amazing mussel pots...so savory. My wife tried their French equivalent to a chicken pot pie and it was amazing....I forget the name of the dish. Cozy, open dining room, and there is decent parking for this neighborhood...reservations not needed ...third time here and service has been consistently good...

I happened upon this place completely by accident. Didn’t have much time so had to rush the experience but will definitely come back to enjoy more. Got the Spaghetti bolognese and my husband got the chicken Diablo. Both dishes were amazing, so tasty. Want to come back to try the mussels and escargot.

We went for dessert, coffee, and hot chocolate. Very flavorful dessert and a nice rich chocolate. Various coffee choices too. It was a nice place. Looking at the menu they have a extensive selection of beers and wines. Promptly greeted and seated as we walked in and thanked with a hand shake as we left. The servers and employees were very professional. We were told the mussels were a specialty there and noticed many other tables eating mussels. We will definitely be back to try the food.

The previous reviewer complaining about them being low on mussels obviously doesn’t understand the current supply chain issues. Katherine’s food quality and flavor have been amazing for over twenty years. The service and atmosphere is warm and inviting. You cannot get food anywhere in Houston like this, it’s amazing!

Lovely and cozy restaurant. Went for the Sunday brunch with the jazz musician and it was lovely. The food is rich so come hungry! Want to go back and try the mussels. Apparently their specialty

Quaint Bistro that mimics Brussells Belgium. The food is authentic, fresh, seasoned to perfection. I spent some time in Brussells in the 70's & this brought me back great memories. The escargot was excellent, green bean salad & chicken croquettes w/curry: YUMMY More

Wonderful food, really enjoyed it. Although a bit pricey it was different and I genuinely liked the waitress she was very accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed which is what I love in a restaurant. Also the beer selection is pretty good! I'll be back here soon!

  • Antoine Benard

Great food, authentic moules frites, enjoyed with Karmeliet on draft... A bit expensive for the kind of food and atmosphere that would cost you 2-3 times less in Belgium, but we're in Houston so I still leave happy and will definitely come back! More

It is just really good, food is very well prepared with a French menu that serves a lot of classic dishes. Of course, the beer is always good. Atmosphere is relax, more like a local bar/café.

Best authentic frites in Texas! Wish they were closer to home so I could have a croquette everyday! I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. My husband is Dutch and everything on the menu including the waffles are exactly as in Belgium!

Some of the best food around, Katherine still serves up the best mussels in town serving authentic Belgium foods . Hard to beat the Kwak for me. Her homemade desserts are perfect to top off the meal.

Delicious - took me back to my time in France. My husband and I opted to share from the brunch menu (chicken croquettes, pork cordon bleu, and belgian waffle), which was absolutely delicious! More

A Little Less is a Lot More Cafe Brussels has no chrome, no plastic, no vinyl, no fake wood. But it does have a warm and relaxing atmosphere and GREAT food.
