Food was pretty cool didn't like the noodles, not enough shrimp or sauce. Fish and fries was really good and still hella hot. Had Vodka and cran drink was good got buzzed and happy. Atmosphere seemed ok it was women talking among themselves enjoying themselves. The location is very convenient to everything. The place needs to be finished inside not appealing at all. Some art is up and there is seating but I took my food to go. Sad last time I went mostly everything I wanted was already sold out. It was around 5pm on a Friday very disappointed and left still very hungry. Was trying to patronize a black business maybe again another day and go earlier.

We are still not dining indoors, so we ordered food to go. It was late on Friday, and this place turns into a local's karaoke joint. It seems like a fun place. This review is mainly for the food. I got the teriyaki chicken and lettuce bowl. It was basically a teriyaki sauce bowl with lots of small chicken pieces and some lettuce. Waaaay too much sauce, too much chicken, a very little lettuce or anything else. My partner got the vegetarian jambalaya or something and found it bland. I'd come back during the day and get something fresher or come back post pandemic and hang out at the bar. I would not choose this for a late night food option.

I wish I could give 10 stars. I ate my food too fast to take a picture but it was photo worthy. The chicken and waffles with Sriracha syrup, the shrimp and grits, the bbq chicken sliders and cheeseburger sliders. I could eat there for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. The bartenders Anita and Jade were friendly and attentive, the owners were threw DOWN in the kitchen and knew everyone that walked through the door. It felt like home.

I heard about this place what quite some time but I never went there my brother had get me some food one time from here it was some gumbo it is to die for. It is so good and I like it very much but they only serve it every other Thursday so it'd be "Packed", sometimes it's good to make a order before you go there and they stop selling gumbo at a certain time on that day. But when you have it you will not disappoint I tell you that. Because my brother had gave me that gumbo that day it was very good very very good

I ordered some nachos they were extremely salty I called the restaurant to let them know, they told me my next order would be free when I called to place another order Shanda told me she could not honor my credit I have to wait until the manager comes back from vacation, I asked her if she could ask the cook, she said no I can’t do that what a joke Black people shouldn’t own nothing but pots and pans

The drinks were a BIG hit! But the seasoning of the food was a lot less desirable. The environment is very welcoming and it's nice to have the option of sitting outside or inside. I went for my birthday and my friends and I stayed and hung out for hours and closed the Cafe down. The staff was great, very helpful and attentive. The music was great! We had a wonderful time and even got a few dance steps in when the music warranted. Would definitely recommend this nice local Cafe after work to wind down.

I just love this cozy intimate live music and soft sexy spirits. It is just an "Amazing"... place to relax and enjoy good food and good people. Live bands and a nice size dance floor to show off a few moves. So....proud of Auntie April's accomplishments in the black community to keep black restaurants relevant especially with all the on going gentrification. Keep up the good work sister. Very friendly staff and I love the music that was playing wasn't too loud and perfectly appropriate. Great mid-evening crowd giving the place a warm atmosphere filled with friends. The gumbo was easily the best I've ever had. A little on the pricey side but every bite was rich and fantastic. Will absolutely come here the next time I get the chance.

This place May soon be my favorite spot in Bayview. They stay open late during the weekends and the food is so delicious!! I had the combo sliders and each one is so unique and full of flavor. (Beef, bbq chicken and salmon). Also do the lemon crunch pie is out of this world. It is an absolute must when you come here. The owner April is also super friendly and very welcoming. I can’t wait to come back here soon.

Visiting this little spot I call a "hole in the wall", but has an exit! Lolol I was there for a private engagement. The was was open and I ordered the Baby Shark a cocktail that was very good and very reasonably priced. You must go if you are just wanting to sit down and take in the atmosphere. Enjoy!!
