Cafe Hey was in my list from a long time to have coffee from. On Sunday morning, we were looking for a place to have coffee and quick bite so we decided to visit Cafe Hey. Cafe Hey is about 20 minutes from our place and there is ample of parking spaces available near Cafe Hey. When we entered the cafe we saw that cafe was decorated with paintings from local artists, they also have a section of books and one can also read tampa bay times newspaper in the cafe while waiting for order. We directly went to order our coffee and quick bite. After browsing through the menu we decided to order Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Hot Latte with OatMilk, and for quick bite with coffee we ordered T'ank and Avocado Toast. After ordering we took our seats in the cafe. We soon got our coffee which was Vietnamese Coffee and Hot Latte with Oat Milk. The coffee was delicious and it was freshly brewed. We loved our coffees. We had to wait for few minutes before we got our food. T'ank and avocado toast was delicious made with cuban bread. The food was hot and bread was crispy and freshly made. We loved our food too. Amazing cafe with delicious coffee and food.
I stopped in at Cafe Hey to try out the vegan breakfast burrito, but unfortunately, they were all out of the tofu scramble. I came in around 12:30, so I suppose I should accept that it's first-come first-serve -- they were even out of the beer I ordered. However, more accessibility to their full menu and pastries would be appreciated. The friendly staff member suggested the V.L.T (BLT with Sweet Earth bacon), to which I added avocado. The bread was flaky and delicious and the bacon was cooked better than I can cook that brand at home. Sadly, the tomato was pale and flavorless and there was a bit too much vegenaise, in my opinion. Also, the red cabbage was an unconventional but not very well-received ingredient added to the classic sandwich. The potato salad was very tasty and well-seasoned, albeit also heavy on the vegenaise. The guava turnover I ordered was good, not great. The overall atmosphere is cozy and welcoming; it's a great place to get a cuppa and enjoy a book or talk with friends. I will be back to give this sweet little spot a second chance, but the first impression fell short of my expectations.
I wasn't sure of how to rate Cafe Hey anymore and it's sad because they would have 10 stars had things not changed. My kids, husband, mom and I STILL crave their crispy salad, fresh cuban bread, vegan mayo and my goodness one of the young ladies created this vegan cold pasta that was to die for with a press ham & cheese (I'm a meat eater but but good vegan food trumps meat). The sudden change is the reason for a 3 rating instead of 5. Before the closure we received romaine not iceberg, the vegetables were so fresh one would assume they woke early to visit a farm before preparing for the day...the pasta wasn't the same and the meat on the sandwiches is of a lesser quality. We ate there almost twice a week....at least once and that's no exaggeration. After they closed for a while and reopened, things weren't the same. I wish they had not changed, there was no restaurant better in the downtown area. I SHOULD ADD THAT I HAVE NOT RETURNED AFTER A FEW VISITS AFTER REOPENING.....I would say give it a try if things went back as they were you will LOVE IT. If not, you will say that it's good but not worth the hype.
Haven't had the food in a while so I cannot speak to that. I know they cater to the vegetarian/vegan crowd also. Light sandwiches for the most part. Bakery items if you're lucky. But that coffee, OMG.... So good. Every time. Sunday I stopped in and tried something a little different and it was delicious. Banana/toasted almond Iced latte with oat milk. Sometimes they feature different artists work on their walls with options to buy. Not quite sure how it works though. I wanted to buy a piece last time and they said to reach out to the artist on Instagram and the dude never got back to me so it stayed on the wall. But go check em out for yourself.

This place is one of the best vegan friendly breakfast and coffee spots in downtown Tampa. If you’re looking for a coffee spot that has a ton of flavor options - this is the spot. And they have GOOD coffee - it’s rich and creamy coffee that you can pair with a variety of flavors. They once had an ube latte that was so good. Their breakfast is pretty good too. My boyfriend is vegan, and we typically like to get breakfast together in the weekends, but I struggle to find places that have both good coffee and good breakfast with options for my boyfriend. Cafe Hey, however delivers on both. Although they don’t have much variety on their daily breakfast menu, the do offer Sunday brunch specials occasionally to shake things up. And their daily breakfast menu has just enough variety to keep you coming back because you have enough options to try something different each time.

We placed our order and sat down. We received our food in a timely manner, but our drinks took forever. And I did not receive my drink till I finished my food and was ready to leave the place. Also during eating, I'm assuming somebody that works there, somebody my group has never met before, came up to us and told us very rudely and disrespectfully to leave the restaurant as one of our group members made her uncomfortable. Her name was Farrel, she has dreads and face piercings. I did not leave as I had paid for the meal and had not yet received my drink. Getting close to finishing up, farrel comes back to our table and again rudely and disrespectfully ask us to leave because one of our group members was making her uncomfortable. At this point I intervined and told her that as a paying customer I had every right to sit here and eat my meal without being interupted and being disrespected. She forcefully gave us to-go boxes expecting us to leave. I did not leave till my meal was finished and received my drink.
I could understand why this coffee shop wouldn’t be for everyone. However, after initial hesitation, I fit right in. Our barista was friendly & funny, I really loved her and her sense of humor . Seems like the whole staff is super chill. Shop is nice & unique but at the same time off-putting . Their is a lot of space and tables to eat at which I liked. I also appreciated the bookshelf they had, and the many local art paintings. Ordered the caramel iced latte I was suggested and I’m so glad I did, it was delicious and actually comparable if not better than other caramel iced lattes I’ve had. I really enjoyed it. Their bakery items are also delicious . I ate the chocolate pb cookie & the white chocolate rasberry muffin.. both were yummy. The barista told me they always have new bakery items which is nice. My cousins also ordered a vegan bacon egg sandwhich and it was pretty good and flavorful. Would I come back? Yes. P.S many vegan & vegetarian options. Also, open mic every Thursday 7-9pm.
Cafe Hey is an eclectic little restaurant located behind Oceanic Oriental Supermarket, on what first appears to be a forlorn corner of downtown Tampa. Inside the walls are adorned with curious artwork, the aroma of fresh brewed coffee is wafting in the air, and you're greeted with a cheery "hey!" at the counter. Their "Cafe Con Leche" is SO good, and the "Rebel Rebel" (a pressed smoked turkey sandwich w/avocado, jalapeño jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on Cuban bread from La Segunda Central Bakery) was amazing. Café Hey seems to have a good dose of local popularity, and has a steady stream of dine in and takeout orders. They are also on Uber Eats. The prices are very reasonable, there is indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of free on-street parking with overflow at Oceanic Supermarket. They also have bicycle racks making it a good stopover for an urban bike ride. All in all, two thumbs up. We are definitely going back to try more items on the menu! :)
Food was decent but it was the bad customer service that put a bad taste in my Mouth. I went twice. Both times I was polite and super courteous to the person that helped me but I didnt get the same in return. No good morning, no thank you or anything. I ordered in advance for pick up…the person helping me had my food in their hand and was holding it front of me. I went to reach for the food and the person gave me the total but then withdrew their hands with the food in it lol like I was going to grab the food and run without paying. The person maintained a tight grip on the food until my card was approved. The food was handed to me, I said thank you and got no response. Maybe they didnt hear me? So I said HAVE A GOOD ONE! and still didnt get a response…someone from the kitchen had to yell it back “thank you!” Idk. Person at the register was just off putting BOTH times and nobody wants food with a side of bad vibes
I love this place and visit every single time I come to Tampa. Their coffee is phenomenal, this time, I had the snickersoodle latte with oat milk and it was a latte above the rest. They also have a number of vegan options, including an absolutely delicious vegan breakfast sandwich. Whether you're vegan or not, the vegan breakfast sandwich is the thing to get. I love the pressed bread. Servers are friendly and helpful, service is quick. The only way this place could improve is to get plates, silverware, and cups that are reusable. Whether you dine in or take it to go, they serve the food/coffee in a single use plastic container. If they didn't do that, I'd rate them 6 out of 5 stars.

Iced Latte, Vegan Breakfast Sandwich
I had a good experience here. I visited twice for breakfast. I was happy to find vegan options for breakfast earlier than most places. Their coffee is of excellent quality as well (see below). I hope, over time, they can build up their vegan menu; I think they're working on it from what the owner told me. I will go back when I'm in the area. One thing I couldn't place, something about the vibe of both the place and the people working there, was off. I would like to see more sustainable packaging! They are using one of the worst plastics you can use in terms of sustainability (ps6). Yet, I should say they were helpful and patient with my questions and food orders. The pumpkin spice latte and Vietnamese coffee were high-quality drinks. The food also was tasty. The prices were very reasonable too.

I'm not sure where the other reviewers ate, but it couldn't have been the same place my boyfriend and I went to this afternoon. Maybe they are staff members or friends of the owners... The staff was unfriendly and noticeably frustrated, clearly did not care to be working. They were annoyed at our ordering and took it incorrectly. The chai blend, I have to say was good, albeit iced even though I didn't request an iced latte. They had a tomato bisque - not good by any stretch of the word. And the T'ank sandwich was gross. Pretty sure they used French's mustard. The bread was stale. There was even a warning on the wall - "everything sucks." We should have taken this forewarning. $24 and a terrible meal later, the boyfriend and I left disappointed. It's a poor location but cute place that could really be a little hot spot. If I could give no stars, I would.
Went here for the first time a few days ago for brunch with a friend and have been back each day since! Its proximity to the University of Tampa makes it great so that when college kids get sick of campus food, they can come here and expect high quality breakfast and coffee, and at an extremely affordable price. This is one of the few local coffee shops in Tampa that don't charge an arm and a leg for a tiny coffee - portions here are great for the price! I've had the breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and Cuban toast and they have all been amazing. As for coffee, I've tried 2 lattes (my favorite is the Gorilla Hug) and the vietnamese iced coffee, which I think is my favorite coffee there overall.
I stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad I did. I can see how the area is becoming hip and trendy. This place would not be my norm to seek out catering to vegan. But they have a great tea menu which is right up my alley. I had the iced chai latte w.almond milk....delish!! I ordered a rola rola(?) sandwich turkey pepper jack cheese avacodo tomatoes and a mayo. The bread was super fresh and delicate which makes me believe the bake on site. I probably have to come back to tampa for business and will def come back here. They're is also outside seating which I did. The arena isn't far away so I was able to see the police escort leading them to the bucs game tonight. Go to Cafe Hey and Go Bucs!
Really wanted to like this restaurant as the food is good (love the VLT) and the prices are fair. However, there are a couple of issues that cannot be ignored, one is that the online orders are rarely ready when stated and second, that the staff members here ceaselessly rub and touch their faces, ears, noses, hair, and whatever, while handling the food. This is DISGUSTING, and likely against some regulations. It was so bad by the woman working the register for my last visit (a pickup order) that I could not bring myself to eat the food and ended up giving it to some feral cats. I don't plan to return any time soon.

We stayed at a hotel down the street and were looking for some affordable, yet unique food. We ended up at Cafe Hey and could not have been more happy. The environment was very quaint and the food was top-notch. My wife and I enjoyed our sandwiches (A-Z and the Rebel Rebel) with some ranch dill potato salad, which was great! The Vietnamese coffee was delicious as well. We will be back next time we are in the area!

My boyfriend and I came here after a long flight— we were greeted with a smile and got a chance to enjoy some delicious fresh roasted coffee and the turkey in the grass sandwich. I got the lavender iced latte and he got a café con Leche, I like that they use crushed ice in their iced coffee (it’s the little things ). The sandwich was also toasted perfectly. Highly recommend this spot if you’re ever in Tampa and keep an eye out for comedy nights and live shows that they host! :)

My recent vegetarian/vegan shift in diet has led to me to Cafe Hey, where I was greeted with a warm and friendly "hey". I've met people here for lunch over a dozen times and the food has been excellent. My favorite is the VLT (Vacon, Lettuce, and Tomato). I never knew there was a substitute for bacon, so this discovery was a real treat. There are also all kinds of neat art-type things to view and the environment was more than hospitable. Definitely one of the top on my list of cute, quaint, sandwich/coffee shops and I'm most certainly destined to return there.
I popped in here for the first time today, for I had business nearby. What a wonderful little place! Everything about the place had chill vibes. There was art everywhere from local artists, and the music was just a series of old favorites of mine. The person who took my order (Death-Row Records shirt) seemed like the coolest person in the world. They recommended a Vietnamese coffee, and they were right on the money! This place represents everything good about small business. 10/10 recommend. Go give this place your money; it totally deserves it.
Heyyyyyy! Cafe Hey is more than a coffee shop. Located on the outskirts of downtown Tampa, this eatery is a great for delicious food without worrying about the confusion with parking in the downtown area. Free parking is available along the street near the restaurant and behind the building where the restaurant is located. I recommend this place for small groups because it has options for both vegans and non-vegans. Food is prepared very fast here, which works out perfectly since there isn't much seating. I highly recommend their Sunday Brunch.
I have been to cafe hey a couple of times now and have loved the food . I have usually had good customer service but today was a horrible experience. The lady that helped my husband and I was so RUDE and snippy to us. I have a food business myself and I try and always be understanding about things because I get it, sometimes people have bad days. But her attitude was just rude and unacceptable. I honestly think that because of this experience I won’t be back here. I hope that no one has to experience her working when they come here.

My wife and I ordered a sandwich and some drinks for breakfast. Half way through our meal, the staff member who took our order started screaming and using a broom and trying to hit something that was presumably running around the floor in the kitchen. She yelled “this is too much, we need an inspector” and some other choice phrases. It went on for about 10 minutes and my wife and I left. Needless to say, we were concerned about food safety and the screaming front of house representative. Food would have been 3 star otherwise.
Best vegan breakfast sandwich/burrito in Tampa. Better quality and bigger portions that other vegan breakfast food places in town. I’ve tried other places. This is the best. Never busy. Fast service. Chill and calm atmosphere. Coffee also tastes great.

Food took over an hour and staff was very rude and inattentive. Doesn’t look like the cleanliness place but was visiting the area so I settled for this place. Wouldn’t eat here again and actually had to request a refund which was a true hassle. I like trying new things but due to the shorter lady handling the front attitude I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The food doesn’t seem so “vegan” anyway being that they used real cheese on my burrito. Long story short eat somewhere else!
More Bohemia than Starbucks. If your standards are high for polished corners and labels, this is not your place. If your looking for a lil laidback place for coffee, wifi, and casual conversation, this is your place. Fun decor with professional photos of roller Derby ladies and wall art. Small place with 3-2top and 4-4 tops. I came looking for a place to study. Went well, but definitely a well liked place for casual and business district customers that kept the door traffic high.
Great food, great coffee they allow dogs that behave that’s a big plus, was not really happy that at first one of the employees were not friendly when I was asking about one of the items on the menu as if I can’t read.. it’s still a 5 out of 5 due to the food and coffee with my pup

The staff took over 40 mins to complete my order after telling me 15 mins with literally nobody in the restaurant. It wasn’t busy at all and when I loved in the back, one lady was eating and the other was talking. Once I got my food I found a hair in it and the staff acted like it was my fault and like I was annoying her. She was extremely rude and didn’t want to remake my food. This is my first and last time eating here. If I could rate this establishment -5 stars, I would.

I had a fantastic turkey sandwich (Turkey in the Grass, pictured). Just as I was thinking to myself "Wow, is this the best turkey sandwich I've ever had?", another person in the shop shared that she was eating was the best turkey sandwich she'd ever had. Astonishingly, it wasn't even the same sandwich - she'd ordered the Festival Turkey. I can only recommend the one I had, but I'll be returning to try the other. Cheers!

The Turkey in the Grass sandwich is definitely my go to, and they also have a variety of funky latte combinations, Gorilla Hug is surprisingly delicious. The Kale Yeah Salad was lacking, however, which is sad because I love kale salads. The staff weren't very friendly and seemed annoyed, I asked for a to go box and I was given a look like I had just picked my nose in front of him. This place is really a hole in the wall, parking is in the side lot btw.

What started off as 4 stars dropped to 3 and then 2 and then 1 as we waited a full 40 minutes (1:07-1:47) for a call-ahead order for iced coffee and avocado toast. We missed our arrival time to meet up with somebody for a gift exchange (they had to go to work) and wasted almost an hour the first day of the new year standing around waiting for toast. We would have left but we already paid. Nothing was offered for the wait. We will not be returning.
The food and coffee were just ok. Prices are good. And it is ecletic even for a coffee shop. For example the bodega style deli display case had white wine on top and condiments on the bottom, like a big tub of Frenchs mustard. Combine that with ample seating in a relatively small space and games and books. Overall the vibe worked for me though. It seemed like a decent hangout. I liked the staff. And the neighborhood has other interesting places.
I have changed my review from 3 stars to 5 stars. A couple of years ago the staff wasn’t so friendly. The staff is now. I love this place and I recommend it for breakfast and lunch. They also have teas and coffees! Tons of vegan options and a monthly almost mainly vegan brunch. They’re a very relaxed atmosphere and if you follow their page on FB you will find out about different things they host here as well, along with specials ❤️
Hey Cafe Hey - visited today and was looking forward to my usual Festival Turkey. I understand you were closed for a bit for renovation and have been reopened approximately a month. What happened to the actual carved turkey and real shaved vintage cheddar cheese? My sandwich today was made with deli turkey and some sliced cheese - not the same at all. It was okay but not the same that kept me coming back. I hope things change back.
Wow! Such a great little coffee shop and nice find on my way through Tampa today. The service was excellent, mocha latte delicious and gluten free breakfast sandwich was perfectly made - crispy and robust! I can’t wait to come back!!

They have plentiful options available, so nearly all dietary restrictions can be accommodated. They also have regular events, including poetry, open mic, and art shows. I love the Iced Cafe Con Leche! If you want to eat, I recommend the ‘Rebel Rebel’ sandwich.

This is the best place to get coffee in the Tampa Bay area. I love that they have almond and soy milk options for the lactose intolerant folks. The art is always interesting and the atmosphere is great for an intimate group of friends or to sit by yourself reading, studying, or relaxing. The VLT is amazing and almost all the pastry options are great. I've never had anything from here that wasn't great.
Ended up having a 5 hour delay for my Greyhound bus and spent it there, having both an iced coffee and a Cuban banh mi. Overall, it was a great place to hang and the food and coffee was really nice. The staff were also very nice and commiserated with me about the delay...

Great little sandwich shop with an eclectic menu. The local art on the wall and the books/games on the shelves compliment the contemporary/hipster vibe and the food is good. Bread is fresh, ingredients are quality, and the offerings are creative. Don't come here looking for a chain restaurant or a fountain soda, but if you want a good sandwich from a local place this is the spot.
Had a craving for a sandwich so I decided to try Cafe Hey. Their shop is in a good spot inTampa heights and very close to downtown. The staff was friendly and the sandwiches were AMAZING!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a sandwich/quick bite to eat. The rebel rebel and mi cubano far exceeded my expectation. Will definitely be going back.
We did a quick visit to Tampa with family members who aren’t vegan like we are. We chose Cafe Hey for breakfast because they have both vegan and non vegan options. Everyone absolutely enjoyed their food. The coffee was amazing and the staff was super nice and accommodating. We would absolutely be back when in the area.

DON'T EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT UNDERARM PIT HAIR IN YOUR FOOD!!! The good food is no longer worth it to me. I tried to ignore the dirty looking girl in the kitchen with the bushy under arm hair and sleeveless shirts until my daughter got one of those hairs in her sandwich today! I am disgusted to the max and I hope they get shut down!!! Reporting them to health inspector.
Great coffee.... I Enjoyed my cafe con Leche and my husband enjoyed his caramel latte with banana syrup. My hubby ordered the Cuban sandwhich and found it tasty. I had the non traditional avocado toast.....it was more of a sandwhich with cream cheese tomato and avocado spread. I found it ok. But the bread made for both sandwiches was delicious.....we both raved about it.
Great food, I enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches and the coffee was good. Reason for the one less star is because the coffee didn’t have strong flavor like I wanted. I asked for the added flavors and i think they should be a bit more generous with them. Otherwise I highly recommend!

The worst Vietnamese coffee ever. Taste like very bad water. If you had Vietnamese coffee here, please know that it does not and should not taste like this. I also ordered a warm cappuccino. It was awful too. Tasted like warm whole milk, with no coffee. Idk how this place has good reviews. Edu disappointed because I went there because of the reviews.
Best vegan brunch in Tampa. Staff is extremely kind, welcoming, and phenomenal at their jobs! From brunch on sundays to Out! We got here and ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches (they let us know they were out of lettuce) and we waited over 45... Not busy..no wait (it was empty) and no notification on wait time.. . Very disappointed. We were expect ing more based on reviews... if we had known we would wait over 45min for 2sandwiches we would've gone elsewhere but we paid upfront...
I love this place. It's close to downtown and right on the interstate. The place is kind of small but the have seating inside and out. The food is great, I usually get the special of the day, which is completely random and give me the variety that I like in like. I recommend eating here, it's way more than a coffee shop, and they even have events.
Lots of options for vegans and a great selection of custom coffee drinks. We stopped in early on a weekday and the barista was very welcoming and willing to customize our drinks. The vegan BLT was perfectly made. We look forward to trying the other vegan menu options!

One of my favorite places to eat in Tampa. The A-Z Sandwich is my good item, but they have a little bit of everything and the food is fresh, natural, or organic... and the coffee's good too. This place is good for adults and babies in a carrier or kids that can sit an feed themselves. If you child needs a high chair you may want to order to go.
I absolutely love this place. Whenever my husband and I are in town we go there for their breakfast. Their vegan breakfast sandwich is AMAZING, the food is always hot and fresh & the staff is really friendly as well. I also recommend trying their vegan peanut butter & choc chip cookies! Such an artsy and lowkey spot. You won't be disappointed.
Stopped by to check out the vegan options. Their coffees and stuff are great! I had an iced vegan coffee drink with oat milk and it was really good. I liked the pressed breakfast sandwich. The tofu scramble is ok. I would definitely go back if I was in the area. I bought a cookie too and it crumbled to pieces and powder and it was ok. More
There's a coffee shop down the street the serves good espresso but not like cafe hey. They serve a legit Cuban style cafe con le he with condensed milk that ranks top two in Tampa. Plus, I love their sandwiches. Almost always served on Cuban bread, the sandwiches are super filling. Small coffee shop with an eclectic and charming feeling.
Cool little spot with good coffee. We tried their regular breakfast burrito and the vegan one; the vegan one was actually way more flavorful! The regular one has some tasty fresh veggies in it, but it’s surprising it doesn’t come with a salsa or something to give it flavor, it was kind of bland. They do have packets of hot sauce though.
Best local coffee shop in Tampa! Their iced chai latte is incredible. Definitely try ordering the avocado toast on their local, fresh gluten-free bread! The owner is so friendly and the Cafe specialists begin remembering your order after only a couple visits. They make you feel very welcome. The local art is really phenomenal as well!
We've been twice now and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing as well, with different local artist's work regularly rotating on the walls. I've gotten the A to Z sandwich each time and it's been amazing! A great little place to stop by in Tampa Heights. Will definitely be visiting often.
I love the local art scene they seem to support, and their chai latte and coffee are very nice! Very friendly staff as well, and just cool ambiance inside in general. Of COURSE, like every coffee shop in Tampa, they close way too early: 4 PM. The last time I went, I ordered a spicy latte and there was really almost 0 spice in it.
Great little health food place kinda fusion maybe. They had what I needed and service was fast… Cuban was great! Eve was excellent!!! Thanks girl!!!

They had them but I wasn’t paying much attention!!! In a rush!!
Found out about this place after googling “best coffee shops in Tampa” and boy was it accurate. I have not tried their food items but the coffee and tea options are simply delicious. I ordered the iced chai latte and honestly it’s the best I’ve tasted. This place is a hidden gem and definitely worth checking out.
This place is becoming my new place to escape for a delicious, inexpensive Cuban coffee. I have to try some of the other options on the menu too. Lots of local art and books create a cozy feel at this place. They also have signs for community events and upcoming comedy nights. This is clearly a local favorite.
This is the ONLY authentically hip place (in the best meaning of the term) in Tampa. Real people, making real, tasty food, in an unpretentious way. It is the only restaurant here I can think of, that could be transported to NYC or some other world class foodie city and thrive without having to change one bit.
Very cozy atmosphere and nice place to sit and talk or read. Good coffee and well made. I got an iced chai latte, though, and it didn't really taste like it had any latte in it. I still liked it though. Also they closed at 4 which I find strange and didn't know so we accidentally stayed 10 minutes past.
Regular coffee was no good. Their Vietnamese coffee bland and not sweet. My gf is Viet and agreed. Sorry to leave a review like this but no good ♂️. $10 two coffees. The espresso shot on the side was good!

Delicious food, really good price considering its downtown Tampa and I got a vegan "B"LT (or VLT as they call it). Even better was the excellent customer service, willingness to offer suggestions & assistance, and the way they've made the most of their space. I'll definitely be going back!!!
A trendy hipster style hangout just on the outskirts of downtown Tampa serving up vegan and vegetarian cuisine along with a great spin on the local favorite. They also have a great variety of salads and warm and cold sandwiches to compliment an expanse selection of unique coffees and lattes.
An artsy joint, with lots of seating inside and out. My vegan friend and I (mostly vegan) went. I am in love! There aren't many places that offer palatable food for the vegan, let alone delicious food! PLUS they buy locally! PLUS they are courteous! I already have plans to go back. YAY!
Love the food but I called today and the answering the phone didn't let me finished my sentence and hung up the phone on me. Sometimes, they let me down when it comes to service. I'm disappointed because I'm a frequent customer.

Small, hole-in-the-wall place in an old warehouse. Had a dingy appearance and the tables were crowded. Went there for the vegan menu. The vegan in our group wasn't impressed. I had a vegan waffle that tasted how it looked, flat. There are better tasting vegan waffle recipes online.
Stopped by for some breakfast on our way through Tampa. Very lovely kind staff. The vegan and gluten free options were very welcoming. We both have the V.L.T. and it was delicious. The Cafe Hey was a great experience and I'd highly recommend dropping by to support this business.
They were packed! Outside seating is first come, first serve, so we snagged a small 2 person table outside. We had our pup and felt very welcome. Our table was situated between the door and outside waiting area, so there was constant traffic by our table. Great service and food!
A small cheerful place with a few tables, brick lined walls with local artists works on the walls. A throwback to the 60's hipster era with great food, reasonably priced. Big on vegan but get a wonderful Cuban sandwich with a twist and you'll never go back to the traditional.
Came here today with my wife. She got the caucasian coffee (white chocolate mocha) and the avocado toast. Oh my it was delicious!! I'm not a big fan of avocado toast but I took one bite of her food and wanted more!!! Very cute, small, cool place. We will definitely be back!
Really great find. Food was fresh and delicious. People were friendly. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was great. I'll be back for sure.

Loved it loved it! Super hipster, the sandwich are super good, the bread is so good, the Cuban coffee amazing and love the guys that work there, it's located like out of nowhere and not nice outside, but don't let the appearance fool you, when you get in is super cute!
The turkey sandwich on La Seguda bread and cranberry almond muffin were delicious and the iced green tea refreshing on a hot day. Thanks for letting me leave some postcards and a poster for Tampa International Fringe Festival this weekend and next in Ybor. Slake Counts
Literally went here almost every day when we were in town. The food is so good and people are super nice.

I come here pretty consistently for a sandwich before work. The food is always phenomenal and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Unfortunately 1/2 the time a single sandwich takes over 20 minutes or it’s wrong. When it’s right though, it’s great.

Love this place. Go there all the time after school. Great coffees (Angel Kiss is my favorite), amazing food (Breakfast sandwich & Suban sandwich are favorites) on wonderful fresh toasted bread, and a very nice environment to talk with friends or get some work done.
Where the locals go! Great community space for creators of all kinds - weekly open mic, drawing night, always local art on the walls, etc. Always good sandwiches, lunch sides, beer and coffee offerings with no frills. LOVE the unique "Mi Cubano" sandwich!
Imagine being a visitor and the “locals” share w/ you & your friends to visit here. Expected to be disregarded. While the food was bland at best, it’s best to come grab a coffee/tea here and keep it moving.

This place holds a dear space in my soul. They have the absolute best open mic, anywhere. So many talented people come and go, but there is always a few regulars. You never know what the hell you'll see or hear, but bet that it's gonna blow your mind.
Eggs potatoes were bland nothing special really. Toast was good. I also order a sandwich egg bacon mayo . That was good me and my wife enjoyed it. I'll be going back to see what else they got.

I love this place! Come here almost daily, not only do they have the best prices on the area but their coffee and food is top notch - almost as good as their phenomenal staff. Highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee and avocado toast/pressed cuban ❤️.
Excellent cozy spot to enjoy a coffee, tea, cuban sandwich, salad, dessert or more. Staff is accommodating and friendly. Downtown locale is ideal for the Straz Center, Tampa Theatre, Riverwalk to name a few. Entertainment provided some evenings.
We love to visit, eat and warm up with a delicious cup of coffee. The food is fresh and outstanding. Cheong has the whole package wrapped up for this space, we love this place. Hey Cafe Hey!

Liked it! Tasty vegan breakfast sandwich, quick and simple before departing Tampa; will try some other items next time. Extra points for the hipster vibe and cool murals surrounding the joint… Update, tried the VLT and it was also awesome.

This place is fine, but I've eaten here twice now while attending classes in the neighborhood, and they are sooo slow its unbelievable. Took them 30 minutes to make a sandwich, with maybe 2 or me other customers and they called it busy.
