My visit to this cafe yesterday was a very disappointing experience overall. We arrived around noon and initially found ourselves a bit uncertain about what to do since there was no one available to guide us. Eventually, a staff member arrived and handed us menus, instructing us to choose any available table. At that point, only one table was unoccupied, so we settled in, anticipating someone to take our order. Unfortunately, no one approached us. After a while, we took matters into our own hands and placed our order at the counter. It would have been helpful if had informed us earlier. The ambiance of the cafe was rather ordinary. We ordered two dishes and two beverages, but it took a considerable 25 minutes for our coffee and hot chocolate to arrive. Although the flavors were enjoyable, it was not at all hot. Our food order took even longer, and we observed new folks receiving food in about 10-15 minutes, with some even having their orders taken at their tables. It was only after a 30-minute wait and my inquiry at the counter that our food finally arrived. Sadly, the Dumpling Soup was below par, and the Eggs Benedict were merely passable. The standout was the croissant, which was deliciously flaky and deserving of a 5/5 rating. What disappointed us most was the lack of acknowledgment or apology for the service hiccups. It felt as if they were doing a favor on us. There are numerous cafes in the area that offer superior food and service. While the coffee and croissant were good, it's definitely not worth the wait or the horrible customer service and the average food.

This place is a cozy secret garden tucked in cozily in the midst of bustling Chatswood CBD. So happy to finally discover this local jewel which provides top notched caring service, delicious food at a reasonable price presented beautifully. The space is so green, its like stepping into a garden. They also have a great variety of food (on top of your regular cafe menu big breakfast, croissants, eggs benedict etc) including dumplings and other asian varieties. Special thanks to David for his great service, and great care! He turned on the heater for us and gave us warm water even without us asking to make sure us girls and babies stay warm and cozy. Will defs be a regular returning client here

Had an informal lunch with university alumni in an outdoor corner of the cafe on a fine spring day. Maybe this added to the enjoyment of the meal—the friendly excellent service by the owner. I had dumpling soup which was good but I think a bit dearer than other places. Maybe I should have ordered the other offerings in the menu like the ones my mates did. Then I can truly rate that the place and the food was spec. Well there’s always next time.

The outdoor eating area would certainly give kids some room to wiggle around.
I have been here a few times now. I always have the eggs benedict with smoke salmon on croissants. It is delicious. The serving is generous compared to other cafes and includes a hash brown. The plating is really pretty too. The salmon is rolled into the shape of a rose. The cranberry jam isn't just for show - really compliments the flavour. I don't really care about how my food looks but if you care, it's definitely instagram worthy presentation. Price is similar to other cafes. Service is excellent and plenty of outdoor seating with cover.

I found this place from google map and it certainly lived up to expectations. At first I thought the menu looks a little bit pricy but after seeing the meal served I changed my impression - they were really generous in volume. My 1.5-year-old daughter enjoyed the dumpling soup as much as I do and I believe this is the first time she felt full after a brunch (usually she only had some fruits and yogurt). The French toast was also the best I've tasted in Sydney. The only issue we had was with the flies (probably because the soup smells so good). Other than that, everything was 10/10.

I had the "To be health" main. Smashed avo on quinoa toast, with nuts, fruit, tomatoes, and poached eggs. Beautifully presented with some delicious ingredients I would not have thought would go together, but was great. My only criticism is that the poached eggs were a bit overdone and not warm (I suspect not freshly poached, but cooked earlier to be served later) but I would happily order again and recommend to others. Coffee was also nice.

We ordered a big breakfast and a slow cooked beef for food and a big cappuccino as well as match latte for beverage. For things to improve, the beef is warm and we requested a re-heat for a better feeling. Things that we love are the art on top of the cappuccino and the taste is nice. Big breakfast actually can be shared with 2 person as it’s a large meal. Everything’s delicious in the big breakfast especially the scrambled egg. I recommend u guys to have a taste of Cafe Marcus and kick off your good mornings !!!

Friendly staff. I agree with most reviews on the Eggs Benedict. Had to say I was intrigued. It's a bit of an acquired taste. I ordered knowingly, so asked for the cranberry (questionable since mine had no tartness in the sauce) sauce to be served on the side. Had to say the sauce does work, but had to be careful with the amount. I don't get the lemon, though. My only criticism is on the Hollandaise sauce. It was totally bland.

Superb place with well presented food that's also good tasting and doesn't break the bank. Would certainly recommend the Big Healthy (Avo Toast++) or French Toast. Don't let the average look and names fool you. Just look at the photos of how amazing the food is here. The place was busy and the staff said right from the get go they it will be a 30 minute wait. Definitely worth it.

I spontaneously visited the cafe this morning with my husband for coffee and surprisingly found out they also have the watermelon cake made by the cafe owner himself! Very nice atmosphere with nice paintings on the wall and decorations everywhere such as a sparkling ceiling with a big moon hanging. It has indoor and outdoor areas with blankets if customers are cold. Great place for gathering!

I went to the cafe over the weekend. It was so busy and there are people waiting outside. Luckily I got a table not long after I arrived. The food was amazing. Fresh and well presented. The staffs were so friendly. Although there was bit wait on the food, but the shop manager kept me updated on the progress. I didn’t mind to wait for a nice lunch. Will definitely come every Saturday to start my weekend.

I chose here to be my brunch because of the high scores of Google maps. The meal I ordered is the big breakfast. The fried food is a little oily and the rest of meal is bland but acceptable. But the environment is good. In general, not bad.

A good place to get the watermelon cake without going to Black Pastry as it is delicious and not as expensive. Good place to study with free Wifi. The long black also helped keep me awake for a few hours whilst doing my work. They also gave me lemon water while I was typing and reading away, lovely service!

Definitely one of my favourite cafes. The food is simple but presented beautifully. My personal favourite is the salmon Eggs Benedict and the Big Breakfast. The food is consistently good and so is the coffee. Great price too. The staff are also so friendly and accommodating! Love Cafe Markus!
Little hidden gem on spring street in Chatswood, situated next to Chatswood Westfield. We ordered big brekkie (scrambled egg - only criticism being that it turned out a bit rubbery). Coffee was great. We also ordered cheesecake. Overall, like the place and will definitely return More

Really excellent male barista, friendly and producing great coffee. Food was serviceable but reminded me of old school cafe food from the 2000s. Obviously well loved by locals. Really liked the tables, chairs and general setup, comfortable for food and chat.
Superb customer service and really nice coffee! This is the most customer-friendly coffee shop in Chatswood! They also do dumplings in soup! The coffee, food and staff working in there will definitely put a smile on your face! You can't miss this one!

My favourite cafe in Chatswood. Food is simple, delicious and affordable with friendly staff. I always get the mango smoothie. Located off the main pedestrian road so convenient but not too noisy and crowded.
Great big breakfast! One thing that sets this cafe aside from the rest is the buzzing atmosphere and vibe that the owner brings genuinely! Also open at 6:40am! 100% recommend - great coffee too! More
