I had never visited this café before due to the huge queue outside but today it was quiet and I’ve decided to pay them a visit. The café is located at the hearth of Manchester, a few steps away from Shudehill Station, Manchester Arndale, The Printworks and Corner Exchange. The design of the café is informal and cosy. It has large windows that let the light come in, while you sit in a modern environment that presents as relaxing, as well as vibrant at the same time. There is a good choice of high-quality food with excels in the presentation as well as the taste. You can eat traditional breakfast items, as well as indulgent deserts, French toasts, pancakes and waffles. They have also a small selection of pastries and cakes and an abundant variety of drinks, spacing from home-made smoothies to cocktails, all diligently prepared while you wait. Despite being busy, the service was incredibly fast and the staff friendly and welcoming. When you consider all the above, you would expect to pay high prices and various surcharges (as it does happen in many cafes and restaurants in Manchester) but, surprisingly, this is not the case! Prices are appropriate and you pay exactly what you order, without any hidden gratuity or service surcharge. If you are in Manchester, I definitely recommend paying them a visit as this is definitely a local gem!

I went there for breakfast last Sunday with my friends. The cafe looked busy so we waited about 5 mins which is grand. The waiter, a young male was very nice and accommodating to myself and my friends, he saw that we were Deaf and he knew some BSL, which was a lovely bonus for us especially communication wise. He did a great job checking with us and signing, it made our morning! I hope more people can be like him, and have knowledge of BSL. The food was great, I had the egg benedict and my friend had a full English. The atmosphere and service is very good! Just wanted to give a shout out to the lovely waiter! We couldn't give tips as we didn't have English pounds only euros, so feel bad for that, he certainly deserves a great tip from us! One day hopefully!

We (family of 4 with 2 kids) ended up coming here for brunch after realising that we'd have to queue for 40 mins around the corner in a very popular cookie place... Had to wait for a table here too as it was a busy Saturday lunchtime, however the wait was reasonable considering time of the day and how busy it was. Pleasantly surprised with the selection of dishes on the menu, we tried oreo French toast, eggs royal, and egg North. Very tasty and arrived super quickly too! Kids loved the smoothies, we loved the coffee! Cute cups ☕️ Looking forward to trying other stuff off the menu next time. Prices average for a cafe in town. Be prepared for quite a diverse clientele.

Today I had breakfast in this cafe. When I entered it felt quite chilly but I was greeted by the very nice staff so I felt warm and welcome immediately. The breakfast choices are mainly british but with modern options (vegetarian and even vegan english breakfast). I chose an avocado toast with an additional hashbrown and a cappuccino which were really delicious. Even though it was very busy one of the waitresses (the italian one) took the time and had a little chat with me which confirmed my impression of a nice and cozy cafe. Looking forward to the next time.

Popped in today for brunch with my girls, Had to wait a few minutes but not too long! Got seated, the waitresses was maybe a little bit too busy as they did not come across pleasant or friendly, we almost had to shout to get their attention ect.. I ordered french toast which was the worse french toast I've ever had, maybe a new recipe for might be needed as it was taste-less(if you want a good one Ezra or Federal is your place) My friend got vegan breakfast and did not think much if it either.. However! the coffee I got was actually unreal and I'd recommend them literally for that! would I go back... maybe but definitely not for french toast!

Very nice cafe right on the edge of the Northern Quarter! It's a bit out of the way if you're not already in the area, but the visit is well worth it. Came for lunch and ordered the French toast which was delicious. The menu has lots of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes but I couldn't help myself! Would like to go back to try the rest of the food. It's quite spacious inside with lots of light coming in through the windows. It has a nice atmosphere. Spent £11.50 on lunch and a pot of tea so not too bad!

Saturday brunch hot spot. We were queuing out the door for a good 15 minutes, but it was worth the wait. Excellent menu selection. I went for the poached eggs with spinach and added halloumi and a hash brown. It was very tasty. Also helped my friend finished off the pancakes with blueberries, maple syrup and bacon. The pancakes were so light and tasty, would definitely have those myself on a future visit!

Staying nearby for a few days, found this gem on first day and returned every day since, fantastic menu with so many vegetarian options I could choose a different thing everytime and all were delicious, a warm welcoming atmosphere and staff that made it so. Would highly recommend to anyone and will return if ever in the city again (the mars milkshake is amazing btw)

I've been going to Café North for over 5 years. Staff are always there and helpful. Though the value isn't as great when I first visited, it still is great value for money, particularly for the location. I've had several items on the menu that have all been tasty. The small menu changes have been fine, although I am disappointed in the changes to the Avocado on Toast - the sliced Chilli really bought the dish together. They don't use Yorkshire tea, which personally isn't for me. The coffee and the juices are superb.

Came to this cafe just by Shudehill Interchange for Sunday brunch. We were a large group of 9 and they accommodated for us graciously despite the fact that we hadn’t made a reservation. Food was simple and well done. No complaints at all from our group - everything seemed to go down well. I certainly found my veggie breakfast very enjoyable. Staff were very pleasant and this was a nice place to visit. Would happily return.

Great place - I'd recommend it. Delicious food, cosy atmosphere and very polite & friendly staff. This was my first time to try French toast and it was beyond my expectations! The cafe is small, cute and feels like home. The scenery is lovely and everything was perfect. Thank you, I had an amazing experience - I only stayed around 30 minutes but felt quite welcome and left satisfied. A bit too pricey though.

The best and biggest pancakes. So flufft and delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My only gripe was the menu read as if you get dairy replacement milks for free and I was charged for it. However the charge was only 50p so still worth it.

Visited Cafe North yesterday as have previously been many times and it’s been wonderful- however yesterday was not their best! Certainly off their game - service was slow and unfriendly- not a smile from one of them. The Philly cheese steak sandwich was boring and flavourless . Not sure why it’s changed but they need to up their game

Came today as a party of 2 for breakfast.. Completely understand that when it’s busy, service might be slower but after 20 minutes we still hadn’t been served, no drinks, no food etc. and a table of 5 that came in after us even got served ahead. We were in the corner so I think we were just forgotten about. With all of the above in mind we sadly gave up and found good elsewhere. Disappointing.

Just been to Cafe North for late breakfast, not been for a while it used to be the best breakfast by far, the breakfast was ok but had to send 3 small pieces of sourdough toast back as it was just warm bread, had a big breakfast and asked for eggs over medium and got i rock hard and 1 just cooked and at least give 2 pieces of toast Instead of cutting 1 small piece of sourdough into 2pieces so a large breakfast had 3 small sourdough pieces
Can not fault this place ... great place for a breakfast if staying in the nearby Crown plaza Hotel.... great choice of food ... not to expensive... and lovely staff too ..... its my go to now .... really enjoyed the big north breakfast..

Very popular cafe in Manchester city centre. I can see why now. The quality of the food is exceptional. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service was quick once inside. Had to queue to get in because of its popularity but it was well worth the wait. The price was reasonable and certainly another option for breakfast if you are staying at any of the nearby hotels.
Really nice place for breakfast... So much to choose from, couldn't make my mind up. The cooked breakfast was lovely, vegetarian options as well. I had the pancakes with crispy bacon and blueberries, it was nice. Coffee was really good It's quite a large space and has a really nice atmosphere, service was good

Had a great breakfast here, waffles with bacon and pancakes with blueberry and yoghurt. Good quality food, well-cooked and very reasonably priced for the decent portions we got. Place was buzzing and busy turning over custom either eat in or takeaway during our visit. Great service and friendly staff, we will be returning for more.
Great cafe with many selections of food, desserts, coffee, and cold drinks. For coffee, I ordered cappuccino, which was great (especially the heart design). And for desserts, I ordered french toast, which is rarely found in other restaurants in Manchester. It was great, I really recommend it as a dessert option (or breakfast).

One of the few places that we could order both English breakfast and pancakes. And what a breakfast! Hash was a proper hash with real potato, not some fried mashed potato. Pancakes were very well cooked and the options were wide and all tasty. Very good portions and good quality food. I can definitely recommend it.
Nice little place, staff was friendly. It was a little pricey for what they serve (£3 for 2 slices of sourdough bread and £1.50 for a little side of mushrooms). I had the shakshuka and it was decent. I’ve eaten tastier ones elsewhere.

I loved the vibes of the place, the waiter who served us was so ice she accommodated all our requests. I had a flat white (was ok) and porridge (was ok too) and my friend had same drink and their poached eggs and avocado on toast which she loved. Price wise I think it was a tad overpriced.

To be honest the food seemed very mid considering how busy this place get , also as 4 of us went and had some of the most popular dishes I feel it’s a case of a very mediocre place rather than not choosing their best dishes.

The place is really cozy and the food is absolutely delicious! The staff are so friendly and you could tell they really care about the customer experience. Definitely recommend this place if you wanna have a catch-up with your friends with good food and nice atmosphere.
Went for breakfast. My son had the Eggs Royal I had the shakshuka without feta cheese. It was OK but not spicy and eggs were overcooked. Place was busy for a Sunday morning which is a good sign. Reasonable prices. Will try something else next time.
Great a lot for reasonable priced food with high quality and tasty food. We had to wait about 5 minutes on a busy Sunday morning but it was absolutely worth it. Lovely staff and a great choice of food. I would absolutely recommend the pancakes.
Nice ambience. Ok coffee. Sorry to say that our chosen breakfast is underwhelming. There is no taste. It is an uninspiring assembly of ingredients into one soulless dish. Maybe it’s our choice. Maybe other dishes perform better. Polite staff.
lovely place, food is very tasty, great selection for breakfast and brunch.i am giving 4 stars because coffee should be more powerful,is tasty but not enough coffee, more milky taste than coffee itself, but overall great place to eat and drink!

Everything was 10/10 about the place and the staff. I had a club sandwich which I absolutely loved very fresh and yum, but the salad a side had lots of vinegar sauces which is too strong for a morning meal I couldn’t finish it More
The food here is really great. It's very affordable and they have a large selection to choose from. The smoothies are made fresh and we're delicious. We didn't have any coffee but I would recommend going down the road for one.
