"I was in Brooklyn from Chicago and this was the perfect little coffee spot"
"Every morning I walk around this whole region of Brooklyn, anywhere from Fort Green to Park slope to Cobble Hill to Brooklyn Heights, and I get a cup of coffee with half and half and a sugar"
"Cute little cafe, lovely staff but very small inside and out"
4.5 / 5.0 - Cafe Volkan is such a cute neighborhood cafe. My friend and I stopped by for brunch after our barre class to try their avocado toast. It is a very very small cafe, with limited seating inside and outside. Luckily, we were able to find a table inside, but many people were there to pick up coffee to go. The Classic Avocado Toast ($11.50+) was absolutely delicious. Some places get stingy with their avocado, but this one had plenty of avocado on the toast—which was perfect for an avocado lover like me. Next time, I hope to try their Salmon Avocado. For drinks, I ordered tea ($4+), which they had a nice selection of from Harney & Sons, from Paris to Ginger Tea. If you love avocado toast, there may be a bit of a wait for a table, but I highly recommend you stop by and give it a try.

Great espresso in very cozy little cafe in Boerum Hill. Volkan opened in the middle of the pandemic but seemingly quickly got a dedicated clientele drawn in by the very friendly staff and the great coffee. There's a wide menu of specialty coffee and Volkan, the owner, is very careful to use freshly roasted coffee from a nearby local roaster. The matcha, chai, and various flavored coffees are above-average standard fare but the classic espresso drinks are some of the best in town. I usually get a very well balanced cortado and the straight espresso shot is also great. The wooden interior provides a very cozy atmosphere. The staff of three (including Volkan himself) are always friendly and always dedicated to creating great beverages. The place will draw lines on the weekend from time to time.
I was in Brooklyn from Chicago and this was the perfect little coffee spot. I didn't try any of the food--next time. I am pretty picky about coffee (I usually like dark roast). They only serve medium roast. BUT I was pleasantly surprised because the medium roast drip was very good, and I ended up going back. I forgot to ask what coffee beans they use. I would like to know what it is! I will return when I'm in town. About an 11-minute walk from my hotel, it is kind of tucked on a residential street off of a main street. Nice, friendly, and patient staff in the morning.

Every morning I walk around this whole region of Brooklyn, anywhere from Fort Green to Park slope to Cobble Hill to Brooklyn Heights, and I get a cup of coffee with half and half and a sugar. Café Volkan has by far the best tasting coffee. The first time I tried it I noticed the difference. Whatever they are doing, you can actually taste the nuance and flavor of the coffee they serve. Plus, it has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly.

Cute little cafe, lovely staff but very small inside and out. Only three small tables out the front and half of the seats in the summer sun. You order and then try not to bother the few customers sitting inside by waiting around feeling like you’re standing at their table. The menu is pretty small too, more a coffee spot. I got the waffle but it wasn’t anything special unfortunately. Probably a good spot to meet someone to grab coffee on the way somewhere else.

Cafe Volkan in Brooklyn is a hidden gem that truly elevates the coffee experience. The rich aroma and robust flavor of their coffee make each sip a delightful journey for the senses. The entire friendly staff enhance the overall experience. making it a go-to spot for coffee lovers. Whether you're a coffee addict or just appreciate a good cup, Cafe Volkan is a must-visit for its exceptional brews and warm hospitality. I personally can’t say thanks enough because of the exceptional service and the amazing coffee in whole Brooklyn makes the day! THANK YOU for everything Cafe Volkan!
Really adorable cafe, small and cozy seating options. Not much indoor or outdoor seating but it’s really cute. Barista was amazing and pleasant + efficient. I tried the Turkish coffee here which I haven’t ever had before, overall really good! Some of the pastries seemed not too fresh or incredible but I appreciated the small assortment. Lattes are good here and I love that they have Devocion beans :)

I really like the place and the manager but I'd like to signal some room for improvement: The expresso. All other coffee products are good (especially the Turkish coffee), but the expresso is a but too dry. You should consider hiring a specialist or training your staff more (or gettinf better coffee, perhaps!) The staff is not equally friendly go everyone. I always felt welcome but one friend whose English is not so good was teated a bit rudely by the staff. Please don't make your clients feel as if they were wasting your time!
We come here frequently for breakfast and coffee. Both the food and drinks and service are great. We usually get the healthy way acai bowl and the gandhi bagel, which are good vegan options. They don't have any vegan pastries, as far as I know, but we'd be very happy if they did! There are a handful of seats inside and more outside. We haven't had trouble getting a seat, but some mornings it does get quite busy.

Found this gem on a recent trip to Brooklyn. Looking around for breakfast/brunch places and we're so glad that we picked this one. Had the buratta avocado toast and the truffle grilled cheese sandwich. Both were knockouts! Vibe is cozy as well. Definitely recommend.

I was so excited to see this gem open up last week. I’m an avid tea drinker and was so pleased to see such a large array of high end tea choices. I had a chai latte and a scone which were both delicious. While I don’t drink coffee, I was impressed with their beautiful presentation. My friend had a latte and it was a work of art and according to her, very good. The owners are very warm and friendly. I will definitely be back soon and recommend it if you’re in the area.
Writing this review literally after just throwing up. Ordered a bagel with tofu cream cheese plus a latte and took a few bites and knew it wasn’t. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked the person who took my order if it was correct. Of course I should have trusted my gut (no pun intended) as I’ve been vegan for many years! Glad they refunded me but extremely disappointed I was given the wrong item even though they swore it was tofu cream cheese…I know better.
So happy that I’ve discovered my favorite spot for coffee in the neighborhood. I knew the drinks would be great because the service first of all was wonderful. The shop is clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The pastries were delicious. I had the best americano here and my sister had the matcha latte. They use good quality matcha and not the pre-sweetened stuff most places offer. I’ll be returning soon to try the Turkish coffee :)
A charming coffee shop with a cozy interior. Note the seats are somewhat limited indoors. I particularly enjoyed the nutty-flavored Turkish Coffee, which also came with a piece of Turkish delight. The cranberry oat scone was very good too.

This is my go-to cafe to work or read or write. I always get OJ and a classic avocado toast with Cholula. Betty is the best, and warms the whole place up. They have outlets which is nice. Best times to go are the mornings. Otherwise you’ll have the strong afternoon sun in your face. But even then, the vibe is the best.

This “little” coffee shop give you a selection of simple but great dishes, with a touch of “Mediterranean style”. The staff is very kind and the atmosphere is cozy because the soft pastel colors and the soft Jazz music in the background. And yes, it is one of my top three favorite spots in Brooklyn. My favorite dish? Everything! I like a lot the coffee as well, and I’m Italian ;).
Super adorable cafe— the decor is very homey and inviting, and they are definitely making the most of the space they have. We went on a weekday morning & it was busy with almost all the tables filled and a line to order, so it’s definitely a popular spot. We ordered coffee which was very good but the specialty flavors were not super strong.

Delicious acai bowl and avocado toast. Both are rather large for me, so I felt too full after eating them. The Americano coffee is neither here nor there in terms of flavor. Nice sidewalk seating on a quieter street just off Smith Street.

This isn’t the closest coffee shop to me, but it’s the one I claim as my local coffee shop. Outstanding. Always. Devocion coffee and great breakfast/light bite items with options for various dietary restrictions. Have never once been disappointed by the staff or the products. My fave.

Super cute spot but the several flat whites, cortados and lattes I’ve ordered have always been under-extracted. They use Devoción beans, which are great quality, so hopefully the staff gets a refresher/sorts out their below average coffee making process because the shop is a great vibe for the neighborhood.

I didn't actually step foot inside, since my cute lil pup was with me, but what my sister brought out of there was delicious! Drip coffee, a terrific acai bowl, and some avocado toast decked out with cheese crumbles and delicious sun-dried tomatoes!! The vibes are friendly, the food was great, and the coffee stands on its own.

A barista once told me “to really know if a coffee shop is good, try their drip coffee, black, and their espresso.” Have had both here and they are spot on. But the real reason to stop in is to meet the owner(s), who are some of most kind folks around! If you’re into lattes, give the golden latte a try.
What an amazing place! The food flavors are out of this world. I had the health way acai bowl, berry banana waffle, and spinach & artichoke avocado toast. Highly recommended! We found something for everyone. This establishment is also pet friendly as they provide treats for pups. My new favorite place!

Great place for a cup of coffee. This place has become my go-to spot. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. The coffee (devocion) is great and they don't use the big coffee silos, it's in one of those small coffee pots!, fresh-squeezed orange juice, good pastries, and a surprisingly full menu.
Lovely cafe with great açaí bowls. Unfortunately coffee tends to be over-roasted with over heated milk frothing.

I just happened to walk down Smith street and peeped this tiny spot. My go-to Iced Oatmilk Latte was spot-on! The inside is cozy seating possibly 6-10 max but the outside tables I felt like I was back in Europe. LOVE this place and my smoked salmon bagel was super fresh!!!
Fairly mediocre fair to be honest. Flat white was not a flat white. Food was meh. Ordered the omelette with prosciutto that was just a lump of it dumped on some lukewarm eggs and a cold plate

Small cafe with delicious avocado toast, omelets, baked goods and coffee. I got the salmon avo toast (they were out of the Burrata sadly) and tumeric latte, both very yummy. Be warned that there are only a few seats inside so you may want to grab and go during busy hours.

We go to Volkan almost every day. Delicious açaí bowls, grilled cheese sandwiches, matcha yogurt. Very cozy and beautiful cafe with great music in the background. Quality is always consistent. Keep up the great work. Thank you. P.s. love their coffee ☕️
Cafe Volkan has the best Turkish coffee. Great espresso from Devoción Roasters. The avocado toasts are delicious. The staff is friendly and always in good spirits. Seating outside to watch the neighborhood flow by and enjoy time with friends.
One of the best cafes in NYC with great food, great coffee and great people. The sun comes thru the window in the late morning and it just makes the place feel even cozier and warmer. Everyone who comes in here always comes back.

Fantastic local spot for morning coffee. Very professionally pulled and blended coffee (Lattes similar to a good Parisian café crème). Super dog-friendly with special treats for our little companion. Correct croissant.
Wait?!!!?? Why haven’t we been doing omelette grilled cheese all along? I have to come back for this cool drink. My flat white was perfect but so many more interesting drinks on the menu. Wishing you much success.
Lox (salmon cream cheese bagel) was good. See many people order açaí bowl. Coffee was decent, medium light roast. Staff was friendly. They have a few outdoor tables on a quiet side street. Great for a sunny day.
My most favourite cafe in the area. The food is simple healthy & delicious. Volkan, who own it, is such a gentle hearted man. A very cute cozy cafe- must go!
