I came here on a whim to work one day! The latte was phenomenal and grilled cheese was great. Some of the best food prices in the area, too! The guy who owns it seems super chill, and through eavesdropping it's clear they have so many things they host and do for the community! I only gave it a 4 because I when I came in (and when a few other guests came in) it took a minute or two to get a hello. But i think that's just because it's a laid back enviornment,I'd imagine if I was a regular it wouldn't feel that way! And I definitely plan on coming back :)

This place is a hidden gem! Went for coffee with a classmate here and was instantly charmed. The host is so affable and warm and welcoming. He even taught me about the difference between paypal and squarecash when it comes to point of service business transactions. I feel like this is a spot I'll be frequenting for takeout coffee since it is a fairly reasonable walking distance (and short biking distance) from my place. There are all sorts of little arty ads around are there is even an ad for tarot readings! The host himself does Reiki and is very spiritual. Such a sweet space.
Absolutely fell in love with this ~underground~ coffee shop I happened to stumble upon my first day living in Bushwick. Can easily say coming here regularly has expanded my world. There are so many opportunities to find community within this eccentrically, decorated, homey nook in Brooklyn. One barista in particular, the lovely Hucks (Huxley), contributes immensely to the feel-good vibes Caffeine Underground warmly provides.

This place is awesome. There's one older barista who is kind, talkative, funny, and knows his stuff. There was also a younger barista who was exceptionally sweet. The atmosphere is really chill, good music and I love the underground artist motif they have going on. They have Wi-Fi(although I didn't need it) and of course, CBD infused drinks. I got the trippin tea. Wish I would've asked more questions about all the drinks but as a fellow barista I know the best time to ask questions is not when there's a line. Definitely going back.
I moved back to the area and am so glad to reconnect with this place. Their coffee on the beach is sooo good. The owner is very thoughtful, friendly, and community-oriented. This place is dog friendly, in fact, I think dog lovers. I miss the iconic dog named Earl. Luckily I think the toy dog skeleton is placed there in his honor. The atmosphere is a nice relaxed place. Good to work in or meet with friends. Def check it out!

Caffeine Underground is by FAR my favorite coffee spot in Bushwick! The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the coffee is to die for. It's a great place to set up shop and do some writing or reading and perfect for meeting up with friends. There are also plenty of fun events, like open mics and comedy shows, to keep you coming back. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Came here to pick up an order through the Food for All app and the app did not update on business hours and it was an upsetting experience. The owner Ian more than made up for it. I passed by and he offered a delicious bagel with peanut, bananas and honey. He also gave me purple potatoes, a vegan brownie and banana bread. I honestly really appreciate the kindness and generosity, it couldn’t have come at a better time when I really need it! Thank you so much!!!! I will be coming back for sure.
Came to this location today on Mother’s Day came in with my daughter no Happy Mother’s Day no Good morning and experienced the most passive aggressive customer service ever I understand we all have our days but being that this restaurant had over 4.5 stars you should expect the staff to reflect that but I guess these days people just want a job It’s a shame that I couldn’t try anything from here because of the unwelcoming experience but I hope Jheri Curl Johnny has better days to come !
Great coffee and non-coffee drinks! Sweet & tasty pastries. The staff are so welcoming and kind!! The space itself is beautifully decorated in a chilled-out “modern art” style. This place is an AMAZING to relax with your friends, come to relax and de-stress by yourself, or bring your laptop to work or study. There are couches and lounge chairs, but also tables with chairs that you can work at. The energy of this coffee shop is very calm and soft.
CU is where it’s at!!! I love stopping by here for an iced coffee, americano, or hot coffee paired with a toasted everything bagel & cream cheese. Bagels are totally fresh & delicious. The hot coffee is served at the perfect temperature, ready to drink right away. The owner is super nice & an incredible artist. They often host open mic’s and art events on weekdays & weekends. Enjoy!!
The most unique and most awesome coffee shop I’ve had the pleasure to go to. The owner Ian is very cool, theres events held here, and fun times to be had! You can relax on the couch, play a game of chess or other boardgames that are available. You can even read rare and exotic books! Come by get the most delicious drinks that can be made in Bushwick/Brooklyn/USA!
Stopped in today to support a friend. Was pleasantly surprised with the size of the space! People were very nice and quick. I didn’t order any food but I heard people around me and they sounded pleased. Place was clean and allowed ESAs. Note: Gender neutral restroom. It was a bit far from my usual area, but I’ll recommend to friends if they’re in the area.
Interesting little coffee shop that’s kind of grungy and funky. There’s chalkboards and paintings directly on the wall, and art hung up all over the place. The lights are orange and purple. Right now I’m here at an open mic night. There was just a poet who was not bad, and someone who I think is a comedian but is not very funny. Pleasant atmosphere.
I’ve lived in a few different spots in Bushwick, but no matter where I am, I’ll always make the walk to CU. The coffee and pastries are a perfect breakfast any day, owner is always delightful. Perfect place to bring friends for a meet-up or just sit and study.

I spent a lot of my trip here, its chill, the coffee is good, and I could get vegan cream cheese for my bagels. Highlights are the artwork on display, open mics, planned gigs, and other themed nights. Also there is a sweet doggo called Earl, and he sleeps on your feets and I love him. Earl gets a 6/5. V good boi.
I’m so glad to have this place nearby! The drinks are delicious (try the yerba mate! I got mine with coconut today) and i am obsessed with the grilled cheese. Everyone is always super friendly too and there’s always some cool events to check out. Just a solid neighborhood spot!

Ian (owner) is one of the nicest, most hard-working people I know. On top of that, he has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in New York (no joke). Complete with bagels, pastries, and all sorts of vegan and vegetarian goodies, it’s a fantastic coffee spot in the Bushwick area. You won’t be disappointed!
$6.50 for black coffee. Get out with that nonsense. And I brought my own cup. Guy at the counter seemed extremely lazy and unhelpful. My first time there is my last time there

I performed here for an open mic recently and had an amazing audience. I come here often to print a few things, and it’s very fast and efficient. I have never ordered the food, or used any of the other amenities available here, but the bathroom is very clean, and the staff are pretty much very polite.
Just lame. Bad coffee. If you need peace and quiet this is the place to go because nobody is ever in there. Don't miss out on Monday movie night though! Or maybe cancel those Friday night plans and head over for their "Wired Open Format Dance Electro Party" featuring the best washed up NYC DJ's.
What a little gem. I easily had the best chicken salad bagel I did I had here, the coffee was fantastic and I loved the Italian soda. The underground space is heaps of fun and it’s so good to see a community minded cafe supporting artists in the area and from abroad. Viva Caffeine underground!
You can feel how special this place is from the moment you walk in. Art and witchy goods from independent artists adorn the walls, and the owner is incredibly kind. The egg sandwiches are also actually big enough to be a real meal, which is rare for a Brooklyn coffee shop. I'm smitten.
My favorite part of this coffee shop is the atmosphere. Its a dive coffee shop with art all over and always playing good music. They have tofu cream cheese and do americanos right with 4 shots in a large! They also have kava drinks.

Love the vibes at this coffeeshop. Adiel is the best barista in Brooklyn and he is hilarious! Check him out the open mic he hosts.

Really good coffee and sandwiches. My only issue was the attitude of the staff! Dismissive and fed up when I ordered a sandwich. Would give 5 stars if this review was based on the quality of the products alone

Great little corner coffee shop that is highly under rated. Friendly owner and great staff. Their espresso spritzer-style drinks are delicious and I will be returning 100% for more, even though it's additional 4 blocks from my usual coffee stomping grounds.
barista was grumpy, but the bagel sandwich was great, and the place is kinda cozy. idk, normally I'd take mild disrespect personally but I recently lost somebody, and maybe he did too, or maybe he's just tired... never know what folks are carrying. …
Wonderful establishment. Visited for the first time today, (new to the area) and Ian welcomed us with open arms and made very delicious drinks for us. He (along with Mystic) were very kind and made it such a pleasant experience. Will be returning soon.
Awesome coffee, food, and very cool atmosphere! Great place to work on projects or just chill. Amazing artwork and shows from original local NYC artists. They also have fun themed nights! The coolest people and place to hangout, I love it all C:
I don’t like to give such a low rating but this place was very disappointing. It was filthy to say the lease. I ended up only getting a tea from the refrigerator because I didn’t not feel like it was sanitary to get anything else. More
Amazing coffee, I come here almost every day. Ian is super nice, works very hard for his customers and there's often something new you can try in stock. Definitely give them a visit, it's an honest and wholesome little coffee shop!
I loved this little shop! The staff was very sweet super helpful and fast. The coffe is delicious and the baked food were great! If I lived here this would be my go to! Definitely recommend. The environment was chill and welcoming.
I stop in here pretty often to print out labels for my small biz and grab a cold brew. The owner is SO nice and welcoming! I can tell he really cares alot about his business and providing a cool place for the community.
Fantastic cozy place to have a coffee, pull your computer and work a few hours, get a book and dive in a fantasy word, have a nice chat with the owner or just spend some idle time. My favorite place in Brooklyn ❤️
An always welcoming environment with great music and some of the kindest staff in all of NYC. Breakfast sandwiches are very good! BUT......the Lighting in the bathroom always makes me think im peeing blood......
Lovely, friendly and unpretentious neighborhood coffee shop. Affordable great food and drink with occasional live performances. What's not to like?!

Just what the neighborhood needs. The guy behind the counter most days is the owner, is pleasant and respectful to everyone, old time locals and new comers alike.

Perfect Coworking space. I enjoyed it a lot. Owner is a nice guy, so the environment is friendly here
Such a nice owner. Coffee could be maybe better? But great neighborhood spot in all.
Refuses to open on time. Allergic to the concept.
