I was very optimistic to work with this company for my wedding, but did not have the best experience. For the positives, I will say that she is super communicative and informative in her email correspondence. She responds promptly and answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. We discussed my vision and I scheduled a tasting and sent over my requests about 1 week before the tasting (which is within her requested time frame). I had unexpected visitors on the day of the tasting, so although I scheduled for 4 individuals, 5 actually attended. Viviana was very accommodating of this, which I appreciated. There was a little confusion regarding the location of the tasting, but I reached out and this was quickly clarified as well. The negatives occurred at the tasting itself. It genuinely seemed like a few of the cake samples we tasted were either not fresh or just poorly prepared. Some looked stale in appearance and also tasted stale. Others were dry. Of the 5 samples we tasted, only one seemed fresh and like adequate time was dedicated to its preparation. We asked when the cakes were prepared and were told they were all baked the previous day. The red velvet sample was the least appealing and looked and tasted several days old. We were told this was due to the dye used in its preparation. We also noticed some graininess in one or two of the buttercream icings. The overall outcome of the tasting was a little disappointing given that I'd paid to taste presumably fresh cake, and the tasting rate for this company is a little more expensive than the other places I'm considering. Although I was not pleased with a couple of the samples, I liked a few of them enough to still have interest in working with this company. The lemon cake and vanilla swiss icings were very enjoyable, and the chocolate cake was decent so we planned to have these featured at our wedding. We discussed cake sizes, decorations, adding cupcakes to my order, and outlined flavors for everything. I was given a final quote and was told I would have a contract sent over by the end of the next day. It has now been 3 days and I have not heard anything. Up until the tasting, I always had very fast communication. This is my last vendor to secure and I've never had anyone not follow through to this degree. I'm assuming my order will not be honored and have since resumed my search for a wedding cake designer. Given the other great reviews, I'd like to think I just had a bad interaction. I do think we were pretty direct with our inquiries during the tasting and I feel that was not appreciated. As someone paying for a service for such an important day, I think it's important to ask questions and to make sure we are receiving high quality ingredients and preparation. Based on the positive reviews, I'm sure this company does great work, but I recommend everyone be alert during their tastings to make sure this company meets the expectations they have for their wedding or event.

I rolled the dice on choosing a wedding cake. I had no time to go and do a bunch of tastings to find a cake I liked. I did a quick Google search and called Vivi after looking at the flavors on her site. I ordered an almond cake with lemon curd filling and sent photos from Google so she knew the look i wanted. It was that simple. She was able to take half down payment upfront and the other half a little bit before the event. When I saw the cake after my dad picked it up, it was beautiful. I had guests commenting on how pretty it was too. After we cut the cake and served it, the compliments start rolling in. It was DELICIOUS and still so incredibly moist after waiting a few hours to eat it (which is all you could ask for in a cake.) I will recommend her to everyone I know and will definitely be using her in the future. I got lucky that she is who I called out of all the places I could’ve called. I’m confident I called the best. 10/5 recommend this place.

Viviana was a literal angel to work with. When I tell you I had a million questions and went back and forth on things Viviana was nothing but patient and kind and answered all my questions in a professional and timely manner. Cakes by Vivi was recommended to me by my wedding planner and I took a pretty big leap of faith with ordering desserts for our wedding without tasting just based off previous reviews. Her prices were the BEST of anyone I looked at and the night of our wedding I was blown away with not only the presentation of our desserts but everything was DELICIOUS. I felt good that we went with a small local business and especially one that was kind and accommodating. We ended up with mini churro cups, little cake shooters and cake balls. They were all just perfect and I was happy they were affordable. My advice if you’re reading this is book Viviana and say no thank you to the other bakeries you’re considering. Thank you Viviana!

Vivi was truly amazing! We met with her about 6 months before the wedding to taste test and design our cake, as it was an absolute must for my husband to have a big statement cake that also tasted delicious. We ordered a 4-tier cake, swapping every other layer with red velvet and almond. My goodness- IT WAS PHENOMENAL! We also did a mix of the American and Swiss buttercream. Even with around 200 guests, we had a full tier to take home and save in our freezer for later- as is customary. Additionally, Vivi was wonderful to work with! She was sincere and professional, and willing to create our vision. She even decorated the cake with flowers I provided when she delivered the cake, at no extra charge. She went above and beyond to make the order/delivery seamless, the cake super good, and a lasting memory of the “cutting the cake” experience. Highly recommend!

Our guests raved about the forest themed cookies I bought for my friend's baby shower last September. They were made by Lilly, twin sister to Vivi. They are a fantastic baking team dedicated to creating great tasting desserts from scratch. You'd be surprised, but you can't assume that all bakers cook from scratch these days so I very much appreciate this. I'm getting married next year and I know I want to book them for my cake! I look forward to getting their creative thoughts on design and flavors. Also...twin cake bakers in Austin??? That's sounds like a sweet reality TV show waiting to happen (pun intended). Someone call the Food Network! haha

She crafted an absolutely beautiful wedding cake with immaculate flavors!! I highly recommend and will definitely be ordering from her in the future for any occasion! Did I mention the quality of the cake for the price?!? For reference, we got a bare lemon cake, filled with a blueberry compote & a lemon buttercream frosting There was real lemon zest and blueberries throughout, with such a decadent consistency, flavor palate and balance of frosting/cake and sweetness. Talk about biting into the taste of all things Spring! The decor ontop is not from Vivi (don't worry that was our own touch for our small intimate gathering)

Viviana made the perfect and most delicious graduation cake for our son! As an out of state parent, I had a ton of things to coordinate to celebrate the college graduation of our son. Ordering the cake from multiple states away ended up being one of the easiest things on my party “to do” list! We selected a picture of a cake we liked from her photo gallery and then emailed the alterations we needed to personalize it. She nailed it! We received so many compliments from our guests. The cake was beautiful, delicious AND she even delivered the cake to the party location!

The cake was absolutely stunning and delicious. We got Italian cream cake and carrot and my #1 regret of my whole wedding is that I didn't get a full slice because all my guests got to it before I did! I'm going to have to order an anniversary cake (maybe even a one month anniversary cake). Viviana was professional, timely, and just great to work with. As a cake lover, I've tried all the Austin cake offerings, and you can 100% cannot find a better cake in the area. You won't regret it!

Vivi made our wedding cake for our wedding at Wild Onion Ranch on 3/26/2022 - the cake was vegan and a total hit! We actually ordered a small cake with the initial intention of just cutting it as a couple, but then cut it and served it as well to all guests. It was demolished and guests complimented it all night long! We ordered the chocolate cake and carrot cake. Not only was it so moist and tasty, but looked beautiful! She was also super easy to work with and communication was great.

Our wedding cake by Viviana was not only absolutely amIng in flavor, very light, and unique! She did an amazing job decorating it exactly how I wanted. I can’t give enough praise about how amazing our experience was with Cakes by Vivi! We also, just got little one year anniversary cakes from her. She’s the best Austin!

Vivi- I’ve eaten a lot of cake in my day, yours is the best! For some background, Vivi made a buttercream vanilla cake with raspberry filling for my girlfriends book launch party on very short notice and it she hand-painted the book cover. It was the perfect finish to a beautiful day and I recommend anyone looking for a top notch cake to look no further!

Communication and response times from my initial inquiry was very quick and working with Vivi was truly a pleasure as she accommodated all my requests. She made a Bluey themed outside for my sons 1st birthday with vanilla and peach compote cake inside. My entire family enjoyed it and would most definitely use her again and recommend her to my friends!

Viviana made our cakes for our April wedding, and did an amazing job! She made us an almond buttercream and a Bavarian cream cake, and our friends and family are still commenting to us 2 weeks later that they were the best wedding cakes they'd ever had.
