"What can I say other than that Dr"
In the past, this clinic has been great. However, things have been changing and the level of service has definitely gone down. Wait time for the clinic has been very challenging, as I haven't had many instances where the doctors have been on time - which makes it tricky for people with busy schedules. It's an average of 6 weeks to see one doctor. Even when I'm able to see the doctor, it often feels rushed as I can tell that the doctor is rushing to see the next patient as they are behind. There is also inconsistency with the information that was given by their doctors; different information was given from one doctor to another, which makes it a very confusing and unclear patient experience. When I arrive and ask how long the wait is, the receptionists would usually say that it's not very long and then it turns out to be the opposite. It's been frustrating where I will receive inconsistent information from the doctors and then I have to encourage the receptionists to speak to the doctors for correct information - a lot of work for patients! The clinic also don't have a wait list for their appointments, so you need to call every morning to see if there are cancellations. There is a not a lot of follow through, as I appreciate the clinic is very busy. When a doctor says that he/she will call you back, I would expect that this will happen. I had to follow up several times before I was able to speak to the doctor, as I know that the clinic is very busy (as we all are!). I would ask them to consider how this feels from the patient's perspective. I sincerely wish the clinic the best with everything and hope that they improve their quality of patient care.
Extremely disappointed and feel I’ve been taken advantage of. I was referred to have my cyst remove at this clinic. I wasn’t sure if she’s (Farrah Kassam) an actual “doctor/dermatologist”. After first consultation I was convinced when Dr. Kassam said “she doesn’t believe to squeeze the cysts will solve the problem, in her opinion it’s better to remove the cysts with small surgical procedure and stich it.” She quoted me for $600 to do the procedure. I went ahead with the procedure knowing cyst will be removed. Right after her incision to open skin on my neck, she was struggling to squeeze the cyst. I was under the impression she would do a bigger incision and remove the entire cyst like she said. After 14 minutes of struggle, she stitched my skin and told me she cannot do any more as the cyst it’s too deep. I’m thinking why did I come here for nothing She had all my documents X-ray, ultrasound, and everything. At the end she charged me $350!! The cyst still there? I could of use that money to pay for an actual surgical dermatologist. Now she’s referring me to another surgeon to remove the cyst and for another $750??!! If you charge money, you should be able to help patient and if you aren’t sure, you can do your job 100% tell your patient I can’t help you it is much better then charging big amounts of money for half of a procedure.
Honestly disappointed. Charged for no show even though they had no alternative bookings available. I understand that they have a policy, And was more than willing to pay. but wnen I called to reschedule and be told that payment for the missed appointment needs to be made PRIOR to booking?! How incredibly untrusting and disloyal. When I asked why I couldn’t pay the penalty at my next appointment because I didn’t have my cc the receptionists response was “I’m just trying to do my job”. Literally. Seriously? I was calm and simply asking to pay during my appointment. What kind of an immediate reply is that? Doing your job (as should be trained by her superiors) is to find the patients and clients solutions that will ensure their continued commitment to the clinic. Not at all a level of care I believe I should be able to expect from health care services. And to charge 80$ for a missed appointment. Honestly. After 4 appointments there why are told they not have better policy to ensure they don’t have disgruntled clientele.
Doctor Janet Ip is an excellent doctor and we (me and my husband) have been attending her clinic during the past 5 years. Besides being a great professional she is also kind and concerned with the patient’s feelings. Once she called me after 6 pm on a Friday (before a long holiday weekend) to give me the good news that she just got the results of my biopsy from the lab and they were negative for cancer. I don’t need to comment that I had a great long weekend after her phone call and the most of the doctors wouldn’t be working after hours to spread good news. I love Dr. Ip! The staff at the clinic is excellent. Everyone is polite and professional. UPDATE: Dr. Ip is now a Dermatologist Specialist. We continue at the same clinic, that has the most friendly and professional staff, and we are now under the care of Dr. Jennifer Lorne. I am so happy we have such an excellent Family Doctor. Dr. Lorne is excellent and super skilled. I feel totally safe under her care!
What can I say other than that Dr. Kassam here was extremely rude and doesn’t appreciate questions asked. Maybe it’s that they seem so busy that appointments are 20 minutes late as is and people are being rushed along. It’s also clear that particular products are being pushed as when asked about alternatives there was no real options given which I find a bit hard to believe. It also seems that basic health questions that I would expect a health professional to be able to at least try to answer would be available but this was not. Obviously the doctor didn’t care about having a proper discussion. Complete waste of time ( spent more time waiting in the room than in the appointment), would avoid the clinic like the plague. That being said, the clerical staff were nice and probably the only good part of this place. Terrible experience.
One of many bad experiences: I stopped into pick up a requisition. Was informed that they threw it away. Apparently they throw your prescriptions and requisitions away after one month. Funny, they never told me that when I spoke to them over the phone. They could at least call patients after two weeks or something, just to let them know they have something to pick up, and it will be held for two more weeks. Or, they could keep documents digitally, and print them when patients arrive to pick them up. Something helpful and useful. Don’t be like the clerk who held up her stack of papers, and said “we can’t keep everyone’s papers here if they don’t want to pick them up within a month”. It’s not that I or we don’t want to pick it up, maybe we CAN’T. Give us a warning before you throw our stuff in the bin.
The receptionists of this clinic is terribly rude and unprofessional. No matter how urgent your situation is, you WON'T get an appointment. My whole family goes to this Family Physician. There were a few times my kids got pneumonia and I had bronchitis, the receptionist told me the earliest appointment was 3 weeks later, LOL...they simply don't care. When you have any serious inquiries and try to have the family doctor to return the call, good luck... the receptionist will simply say: " the doctor will not call you"! What is the point of having a family physician if you get treat better at a walk-in clinic? Even though the doctors at this clinic are nice but I think it is their responsibility to train their staff to respect their patients.
As a busy mom of 2 young boys, I rarely review places because I'm always running around and it slips my mind ... I am writing today because like other reviews I've written, I felt the need to stop and take a minute to mention what an exceptional experience I've had at Cambie Village Family Practice. Dr. Ip and her team are very professional and made me feel very comfortable despite the very uncomfortable issue I had. I saw a handful of other doctors that weren't able to fully help me or maybe didn't have the patience, but regardless, the issue is now resolved!!! I couldn't be any happier, thus I'm posting this review. Thank you so so so much!!
I honestly cannot recommend this Practice enough. My family of 5 (3 young children) have been going to see Dr Kara Jansen for 4 years and have nothing but fantastic experiences each and every appointment. We always get into see our lovely Doctor at our scheduled time, the staff is really efficient in managing appointment times. Dr. Jansen is very conscientious and thorough during the appointment. She always seems well prepared and considerate especially of our kids. The entire MOA team are fantastic, always friendly and approachable. Our kids LOVE those ladies. I simply don't understand the negative reviews, nothing but good things to say
Doctor Lorne is the best Doctor I have ever had, very nice and caring, always willing to help. Staff is helpful and pleasant to deal with. Their online booking tool is a bit slow and and you can only book one appointment, if you require another appointment you must call the office to make the new appointment. Location is convenient and there always seems to be parking on the street within a block of the office. I don't think they are accepting new patients but if and when they do, you would be lucky to get her for your doctor.
As a senior, it isn't easy to find a family doctor in Vancouver so I feel very lucky to have fallen under the care of Cambie Village Family Practice. All of the physicians are attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. The receptionists are kind and efficient. The clinic space is clean and beautiful. Online appointment bookings are convenient and email responses are really quick. Plus there's usually free parking out front. I feel well taken care of every time I go there.
When I think about “quality of care” the Cambie Village Family Practice immediately comes to mind! The professionals at this office make it their upmost priority to provide the best care possible to their patients, and provide timely and effective communication. The front desk staff are always positive, despite it being a very busy office. I would recommend anyone to receive care at this beautiful and supportive practice!
Excellent service here! I don't expect a GP to call me at home and I'd rather they attend to patients who have made appointments and have come to the clinic. The staff is very busy, but as accommodating as possible. Try Copeland Medical if you want concierge service. FYI, They try to keep a few spots open for emergencies, but the hospital is always the best place for that to facilitate tests, if required.
I did not enjoy my experience with the Dermatologist at this clinic. She seemed annoyed to be talking about my “mild” issue and didn’t give me any new or helpful information that I didn’t already read online. She rushed through our visit and I was in and out within 20 mins. Her communication skills and empathy are lacking and I walked away feeling very uncomfortable. Waste of time.
Just realized that today is the 10 year that I have been a patient of Dr. Ip. She is honestly one of the best Dr's I've known in all my life Also a great person who has changed my life personally. If there was 10 stars I would definitely give her that. I highly recommend seeing her You will not find anyone better.
I've been going to this practice since I was an kid (12) I am now 24, I have always gotten the best care and emergency appointments when needed or available, doctor Janet ip has helped me when no other doctor would for my serious skin condition. She is the only doctor I can trust to truly understand and help me.
Dr. Janet Ip has been our family doctor for years and we always value her good insight and care. I - for myself and my children - have seen other doctors at the practice over the years and been similarly impressed and pleased. Yes, they are busy, but they do all they can to accommodate, which we appreciate.
I had a terrible experience with the dermatologist in this clinic. Dr. Kassam has given me the wrong diagnosis. She rushed through our visit and didn’t take the time to ask some relevant questions regarding my medical history that would help to figure out my skin issue.
I have always had such positive experiences here with my regular family doctor as well as their receptionists. The facilities are so clean and don’t have the typical institutional feel. Dr. Ip, Dr. Lorne and Dr. Harris are all wonderful!
Dr. Janet Ip is very professional and extremely thorough. She obviously takes great pride in the immediate and long term results of her patients. I would not hesitate to recommend her practice to family and friends.
I was afraid of coming here after reading the reviews here, but the doctor was actually amazing. Very polite, quick and even took care of an extra concern I had. The lady on the reception was very helpful either.
Clinic is fair with appointments and the doctors are all really nice. The front staff can be a bit stand offish at times, but they always seem like they are working and focused on what they are doing.
Dr. Lorne is hands down the best gp I've had, she truly does listen and care, which makes a big difference in terms of dealing with ongoing health matters. I can't say enough about her or her staff.
Appreciate this clinic a lot. Been going here for many years. All the Drs and receptionists have been very helpful and respectful. Keep up the excellent work!
They've always taken excellent care of me and my family. Very friendly and helpful staff and highly patient, caring, professional, and knowledgeable Doctors.
Wonderful doctors and if your regular doctor is not in another will help. Staff is friendly and helpful But.. so sorry not accepting new patients.
Called in to book an appointment, receptionist pretty rude and in hurry. Disconnected my phone midway without providing proper information
Unfortunately Dr. Hume more concerned with nickel and diming patients than about their care. Would not recommend.
Knowledgeable dermatologist, no wait time for my scheduled appointment, and the receptionists were nice
I've been going here for the past 8 years and have always received excellent care.
The receptionists are rude especially the Asian one short brunette one.
Wonderful office! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!
Un-empathetic, novice and condescending doctors.
Very professional; happy with medical attention
The staff at this clinic were amazing!
