This museum is truly spectacular and undeniably warrants a visit. It's not solely dedicated to illuminating the captivating local history—which, by the way, it does exceptionally well—but also delves into the rich tapestry of Australian history at large. The exhibits are masterfully curated, featuring intriguing Aboriginal artifacts that pique one's curiosity. I wholeheartedly endorse this museum as an unforgettable destination for history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

The downstairs collection is a little ho hum but the upstairs collection is excellent. The period costumes in the drawers are in great condition and the old grape press from the first German vintners brought out by the Macarthur family are definitely worth a look. Plus, the volunteer guides are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and go the extra mile to help you.

This is an amazing museum. Well worth a visit, not just for local history, which it is great for, but also just Australian history in general. Great displays and some fascinating Aboriginal items as well. Highly recommended.

Nice place to visit and enjoy the architecture. The town has the architecture of a bygone era. This type of building is rarely seen in Sydney, more's the pity!
