Thanks to Diane for a great presentation about the history of the Campbell family and historical tidbits about Toronto - very knowledgeable. There was a nice exhibition - 'Colour with a U' - of quilts and textile works hung throughout the house. I found the rooms a bit bare, but maybe they were cleared for the event. Turns out they have events throughout the year - put yourself on the emailing list. I must have walked past this place a million times, but I'm glad I finally came in to have a look. Small but nice gardens. Thanks to Canada Life insurance and the Law Society for making the efforts to save this old but important part of Toronto.

Passed by here on a Friday early afternoon (Dec 9, 2022). Currently it's be pay-what-you-can until December 23 to accommodate holiday programming and private events. Usually admission is $10 for adults, half price for youth and seniors, free for 12 and younger. Highly recommend a visit. The staff gave a really detailed tour of the house, its history and other fun tidbits. I had visited during open door events prior to the pandemic and the tour then was a lot less detailed because of the crowd. I'll definitely be on the look out next Christmas for tickets to a Christmas Carol at the museum next year.

Great experience. Came on a Wednesday; got a full tour to myself, which lasted around an hour. Had to enter through the back door due to construction. Tour guide is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the history of the house. The building itself is original, although the furniture is not. Also received complementary food to taste test, which is specific to Wednesdays. Admission is $10 per person. Not too bad. Photos and videos were welcome. Quite enjoyed the experience!

I visited Campbell House Museum in May 2023. Both the inside and the outside of the house are beautiful! Tickets can be bought at the entrance and the person working there is very knowledgeable about the history of the house and the people who lived there. At that moment, there was an art exhibition going on inside the house (no extra fee charged) which was lovely. Seeing the museum takes a short time (1 hour max.) and it is definitely worth visiting!

Hidden gem to tour a Georgian home in the centre of Toronto. There aren't many left and a lovely museum. The architectural fragments in the yard come from demolished buildings in the area. The tour guide we had was fantastic! Energy, knowledge, and great storyteller. Before you start your day, take pause, have a walk through the gardens to centre yourself. It's very calming as it's set back from the street. Concrete blocks and high rises everywhere else!!

We visited the museum during the Doors Open Toronto and we were impressed by how organized the event was. We arrived before 11am and there were a few people ahead of us, so we didn’t wait so much to get in. The house and furnitures were beautiful and well-maintained. Be mindful not to touch or sit on them since they’re rather old. There was also an art exhibition that we enjoyed while walking around the house.

Beautiful place to have a small scale wedding. They keep you on your feet and the event moving so your on time. It’s a beautiful location with great history. Only downside is that if you want to do a ceremony within your own culture or religion and it’s more than 20 mins good luck. They can’t accommodate. ♀️ Parking is close by and that wasn’t overly expensive either.

Netflix Canada turned this place into an awesome holiday house with lots of fun things to do. There was free hot chocolate, free donuts, free sugar cookies and free goodie bags with chocolate. You could write a letter to santa and decorate your own ornament. You can also go to all the rooms to take pictures. It was fun.

First of all, we had an amazing tour of the building and what a fascinating story this building plays in the story of Toronto. Visitors and locals alike should take the chance to visit this location. It is a tiny gem that can be enjoyed in a number of ways - as newbies and tourists in Toronto - it was just such an interesting experience to learn about how the house moved to it's new spot Interesting interior!
I was lucky to be visiting it yesterday on the 10th , I got to see artworks by gord peteran . Great house , learned so much today with the help of guides Sarah and Nishant , if you’re walking around you should def visit the house and see the beautiful Georgian architecture and interiors ❤️ The house was moved in 1970s because of a conflict so has modern extensions to it which is also interesting to watch !
Campbell House is the oldest remaining house from the original site of the Town of York. Built in 1822 by Chief Justice William Campbell and his wife Hannah. Hannah was using this house for her gatherings while she was in the town. They raised their 6 kids in Nova Scotia. The house was originally located on Adelaide Street

I visited the museum on my most recent visit to Toronto. They had pay-what-you-will admission. I had a great tour guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable, and had answers for all the questions I had. I’d recommend if you’re looking for a cheaper/less busy museum to visit.

The textile art exhibit was interesting at the Campbell House Museum during my visit, certainly worth a peek during the Toronto open doors weekend event. It was also interesting to learn that the house was not built there but it was moved from another area of Toronto.

Had a great time here watching A Christmas Carol. The actors did an incredible job and the staff was very friendly. Such a great experience! We found $3, 2 minutes walking away after 7 PM - 206 Simcoe St, Toronto, ON M5T 1T4 Do note that you are moving around so if you have any mobility issues it would be difficult.
Great place with lots of character- if you re looking for a venue for any type of event. The flow of the space is great... parking on site but restricted to about 4-5 cars. the event rep. was very thorough and def. knows how the space can be utilized in a number of ways depending on event / ppl attending.
I hadn't been here until they made it thr Netflix Christmas House! It was so awesome! Loved that the museum allowed this..it was a free experience. The basement smelled like wood and it was delicious. The rest of the house was so beautiful and historical.

Small but historical house set on one of the busiest corners of Toronto. Inside is a preserved era from the 1800s with furnishings, carpets and lighting all from the original house. Staff are very knowledgeable & interesting to listen to in order to see life as it wad in the city over 150 years ago.
Beautiful Georgian home right in the heart of downtown Toronto, a real look into the past. Our tour guide was fantastic, would go back again, they host really interesting and unique events!

Visited for Doors Open Toronto in May. It isn't very big, but I enjoyed exploring the few rooms and learning a bit of Toronto's political history. This house did not originally stand on university, but was transferred from the easy part of the city!
Very interesting piece of Canadian/Torontonian history. The museum is only avaiable as a guided tour. There is no set amount of admission fee, just a donation.

Interesting piece of Toronto's history. Loved the intimate tours. The pictures from 1972, when the house was being moved, gives a delightful view of Toronto. It's open, doesnt really have a sign. Has a cute garden in the back.
Nice little piece of Toronto history. Staff is knowledgeable. The house is small. The small scale replica on the second floor gives a nice blast from Toronto past. Sometimes the house will serve as a small art gallery.
Couldn't go inside as it was closed and it was really late in the evening but the view from outside is equally good. You can get some amazing photos with backdrop of this 18th century house.

The museum hosted a Titanic Tea and Book event for Titanic 111 anniversary of its sink. The setting is gorgeous and the story telling is attractive. Wonderful! I am glad to join this museum event.

One of the rare pieces of saved history in downtown Toronto. While it's great to retain, and significant for Torontonians, I'm not sure it would be an ideal first choice for tourists.
This is the oldest building in Toronto. There isn't much to see here, but I think it's worthwhile to take the tour to learn a bit of Toronto history. Also parties here are super fun.
Netflix hosted their Holiday House and it was a great experience free to all guests.

Lovely period home from 1822 that is now a museum. One of the oldest remaining examples of the life of wealthy citizens from the early days of Toronto.
Very nice historical house smack in downtown Toronto. Not much or a museum, in the literal meaning of the word, but definitely a historical building.
I really enjoyed the outdoor installation of historical remnants of demolished buildings called Lost & Found: Rediscovering Fragments of Old Toronto.
Excellent example of houses before the large Metropolis of Toronto existed. Beautiful, a must see. Located beside a star bucks and near transit.
Get your Scot on, oldschool! Seriously, this is a Toronto Heritage site. I think this is the oldest standing brick structure in the city.
No es fácil visitarla por dentro. El mobiliario es de la época, pero el edificio es una reconstrucción que llama la atención en la zona.
Beautiful historic house in the middle of Toronto. Always informative and whatever's going on is well suited and adapted to the space.
Preço de entrada meio caro! De repente eu q seja pobre. Nada interessante para crianças. Porém, tem uma história muito interessante.
Loved to visit. Amazing. Surprised that how this house was saved from demolition and brought to a new location. Full of history.
Went once to visit, and again for the haunted house on Halloween. Pretty cool to have such a piece of history right downtown.
Little georgian house used by judge Campbell, I believe there Is nothing similar in northern America. Gold guided tour.
Any place that lets me bring my dog is a place I highly recommend. Plus all the history bits made this a great visit.
A hidden gem of Victoria history. It was worth taking the tour with the curator who added many interesting insights.

Pretty ominous, albeit interesting mansion among skyscrapers in the middle of downtown toronto!
Attended a TIFF after party here. Great outdoor space and quaint indoor house like structure.
I was denied entry with my service dog. Pretty sure they’re not supposed to do that.
Saw A Christmas Carol here, and it was absolutely amazing! Beautiful historic house.
Nicely preserved historic place in the heart of Toronto. Serves as an art gallery.
Fantastic place, amazing guide with a lot of information. You will enjoy it !!!
Well curated and maintained site. The guide and staff were very knowledgeable!
Super cool space which we have only been at during events but always enjoyed.

Sweet gem of a museum. Thank you, Antonia, for the excellent tour.
