Sunday night a the Canby, my friend invited me to check out a new Kid artist that is coming up, trustfully I didn't care to go see some new unknown rapper... but I did! we had a few beers, chilled got to meet "the upcoming kid rapper" the atmosphere was happening, cool spot to hang out on a Sunday night; the actual event start very late, I almost left... well to make story short, OmG this kid rapper by the name of "Ayala" rocked the spot, lit up the place, people literally were enjoying his different type of rapping, his fresh "different" very good, now I understand why my friend insisted on taking me to check out his performance. TRULY his going to be a STAR in the industry of Rapp music. Ayala this is for you, I know you probably wont recall my name but I am Liz's friend with the blonde hair "Carina" big shout out to You "Ayala" looking forward your next performance hit Liz up, let us know your when your next event will be... for I am a fan now Lol....you stoled the entire show, you made it your event Lmao!!! the Canby was yours that night kid.

The place is fantastic Maria the owner and son Emery are great people to have a conversation with. Food is fantastic sound system is killer. Fantastic place 2 sing karaoke Amazin'peep sound for big bands rock and roll Soul Blues Country heavy metal whatever gender big bands stage rock and roll big room music incredible bartenders amazing Laura the Great musician horn player horn player extraordinaire sounds like Janis Joplin and Tina Turner amazing Force singer looks like the Italian Shakira can you get Megan sweet as can be if you're looking for a good time that's your place Underground I have been in and out of there in the last 17 years with bands and work at time God bless their souls every holiday she cooks a great meal the great Maria and son Emory Lady Killer beautiful nice young men. Not my crowd: 55s+. Picture in your mind the oldest members of Sons of Anarchy. The guy next to me was crying. Sat at the bar for 5 min and never got served. TV sound was on but so was some bluegrass rock. If you were talking with someone there would just be too much noise. I get the sense this is actually a place you go to when you're at the end of the road and want to drown your sorrows. It was really sad. There is one pool table and only the bar top to sit at, and no where else. Smells moldy. Definition of dive, but in a bad way. Maybe when I've seen enough of life that I'm completely disenchanted and cynical I'll be up for it. Until then...

My first time there was for New Year's Eve to see Jeff Stevens drum his way into infamy with one group then the next. The sound system seemed good I didn't have a drink so I don't know how the drinks were I usually just play pool when I'm in a bar but looked like there was a line as it was so I didn't get a chance. Seemed like a decent place for you know just a local kind of dive bar but you know live music that says it all makes me want to go back.

Great dive bar with good food, cool people, and live bands. Drink prices are decent and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a pool table on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd floor along with 2 house soft tip dart boards on the second floor overlooking the rest of the bar including the stage that provides a house PA for live music and karaoke on select nights.

The joint is great place for music, atmosphere, great drinks and food too. Maria and her bartenders are the best at what they do. Canby is home of the DiveBarSuperStars, featuring Laura on sax/lead vocals which happens to be Maria's #1 bartender. Pool tabless are always active with APA league taking place weekly. An awesome bar n grill to take a date.

Amazing staff , never a dull moment , everyone is pretty friendly ! The bartender Imre is very handsome total eye candy and they have a totally awesome bartender named Mia who is the definition of cool ! I would totally come again and the drinks are cheap!! They got pool tables, live music, karaoke, food , comedy, burlesque, hip hop !

Incredible shady, in a good way depending of what you’re looking for, like if you want to hire a hit man or something like that. I forgot the last time I walked into a bar and smelled like cigarette. Seriously. Sort of hidden entrance adds to the mystery and the sense that you’re either going to have a bad time or a great time.

Went there on a Thursday to watch my comedian friend perform. Standup comedy and burlesque in a dimly lit hole-in-the-wall type bar...in Reseda. The crowd was great. The comedy and burlesque were fantastic. The staff and service were...well, what do you expect from a dive bar in the pit of the San Fernando Valley? …

I don't usually leave reviews for places. But I just saw so many great reviews for this place that I had high expectations for a Friday night. The live music was okay. With just 2 bartenders, I understand why the food took a while. The service was average. Probably went at a bad time. Nothing really stood out.

I would definitely say this bar is the Hole in the Wall bar stop by there prices are fair if you're interested in playing on a pool league they have pool table jukebox spacious Bar from what I understand they even have bands that play there on certain days this bar would be a nice bar if they remodeled it

My favorite bar in all my travels. Maria the owner is probably the hardest working women I know its my local dive bar the pool tables are allways full of regulars at .25 cents a game The bar host 4 different pool teams on 3 different nights. A full kitchen and when Maria is cooking your gunna want more.

Love this little hole in the wall spot. Being a female and going to bars when you just want to be able to have a drink and not be bothered constantly is a "Thing" and here I can do just that, the bartender is chill and they even cook up some yummy drinking foods!

Solid dive bar. Just what I want out of a valley bar. There's a jukebox and two pool tables. The regulars seem to be a good representation of the varied valley population. They have open mic nights, karaoke, burlesque and other random themed nights.

Best dive bar around CHEAP!! drinks good pour and a good time! My local spot and wouldnt have it any other way. Maria is a great bar tender and as long as your respectful youll have a good time.bring cash cause its cash only but there is an atm.

Great bar set at one of the most iconic bars of the valley they're still holding it down though drinks or cold inexpensive friendly and fun staff great place to watch a game or catch a beer I totally would go back to this place awesome bar

It’s the only bar open during pandemic under the radar. It’s filled with a medley of interesting looking middle aged people, who are nice and familiar with each other for the most part. the karaoke is entertaining lol

Giving this place 3 stars just because of the prices. If I could give just 1 recommendation "Clean the smell from the Bathroom". The Bartender didn't seem very happy but tried to cheer her up with a smile.

Had chip Star entertainment in the house tonight the rapper Rick Hard Young smoke and a few others that entertained us it was a fantastic evening very hip hop very fast-pacing exciting

Always a fun time at the Canby. The Philly Bartender is my favorite and the crowd is always fun. There was a comedy competition this night and the comedians had me cracking up!

Good size venue/dive bar with two floors for pool lovers and awesome live performances and cheap beer. 5$ for any bottle of beer! However, there is a 10$ minimum on drinks.

The people that work there are amazing. They're funny and easy going. The regulars that come in are receptive to new people and want to make sure everyone has a good time.

If you like to play pool they have 2 pool tables and it costs $0.25 per game. The cheapest drinks in town, period. Just be cool and have a good time.

Ok bar setting if u love rock & roll and like to listen to live band play and enjoy a beer and a little social scene then this is the place to go
