Seriously, this place fills a geographical gap for good Mexican food in Mandarin. Disclaimer- this is a sincere independent review of this restaurant, which has been highly anticipated since its opening was announced. There has not been a location convenient to 295 that can offer good food , beer, wind, and liquor until now. This location is in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza at Old St Augustine and Losco Rd, just one block north of I295 The food, service, and drinks were spot on with excellent service. The only potential downside will be the parking once Mandarin and Jacksonville discover this hidden gem. So everyone, please stay away. And yes, on your visit you may find new opening mistakes. This review was written based on this location just opened.

So nice to finally have a neighborhood Mexican restaurant in this area! The food and the customer service was excellent and menu selection was very nice. This place has been fully remodeled and looks great with large and comfortable booths. I was surprised to see French fries served with our burritos. They were excellent but next tine I'll ask for beans and rice. No big deal. The music in there was being played way too loud and was stressful to endure. The tile floors reflect sound and the acoustic environment transmits noise easily. Small shortcomings aside, I'll definitely be back.

Went in to try the new restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed the food. Portion size was good. Price was good. Disappointed that we were not able to order any tequila or other drinks as the restaurant only sells beer, wine, and pre mixed margaritas. These pre mixed drinks are substandard at best with juice and well liquors. Hopefully they will be able to complete the experience and add a full bar… after all the place is called cantina cinco de mayo. La Nopalera and margaritas will continue to be our go to spots in mandarin until so. Thanks for the attempt

So yeah…. Much different than I imagined before walking in. Bright and clean with huge booths for everyone. Staff, especially Susanna, friendly and helpful, and on top of things, and the beer was cold - nice 32ozers for those who appreciate. Finally, a good Chile Poblano! Why anyone would order queso and not this…. Local secret. Prices were good. I think the most expensive thing was 21 bucks. From there, 11, 12 - 14 bucks’ll get you fed nicely. Well done and welcome to the neighborhood.

We were here on a Sunday afternoon. Kali was our server. She was very good explaining the menu and suggesting items. The food was very quick to come out of the kitchen. It was very good. I enjoyed the quacamole very much. The Mexican taco was very good. The restaurant was very clean and everyone was extremely friendly. Well be back again!

Service is excellent! They are working hard to please the locals. The bad is its another Rosie's temporarily allegedly! Only a beer and wine license no liquor license. The margaritas are wine and not tequila. Hopefully that changes soon The decor is fresh and they spent money on the design. 2 of 3 tvs are working. Men's bathroom door isn't heavy and may stay open when going in. Close the door behind you. Mandarin, give your support and help this restaurant get iffy ti an excellent start

The food and service were fine. The atmosphere is awful. They have 3 TV's that we're all powered off. No music playing. Questionable if the AC was on. It was a Sat at 1 pm and the Specials board still had Fridays specials. Just seems like whomever owns the place isn't paying attention to how it's being ran and it won't be around long unless they start.

We decided to stop in here and try this new restaurant as it’s very close to the house. The service was quick, the waitress was very friendly and responsive to refills of chips and drinks. The food was fresh and tasted very good and the portion sizes that you get for your money is an amazing deal.

Food was absolutely delicious. Waiter was very nice, he did unfortunately mess up one order but the manager was fantastic and completely fixed the issue. Definitely will come back.

All I can say is, delicious tacos. I had the 4 tacos, 2 chicken , 2 beef. Everything was fresh. Service was fast. I plan on working my way through the entire menu. Come getcha some.
