I've been to their sister restaurant Piccola Botega numerous times so I decided to try Cantina del Gio. I went with a friend and we ordered the mixed appetizer and mixed grill for 2. My friend and I loved the mixed appetizer. A great mix of veggies, meats, and cheese. The mixed grill on the other hand was disappointing. The beef was too fatty for my taste and the sliced pork was on the dry side. The chicken and pork ribs were decent. I don't eat lamb so my friend ate that and she seemed to enjoy them. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake and tiramisu. The tiramisu was excellent but the chocolate cake was too dry. One thing that annoyed me was their corkage fee. Piccola Botega charges $500 a bottle but Cantina del Gio charges $1000. Considering they're part of the same restaurant group, one would think the fee would be consistent. Service during our meal was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and very prompt. So will I be back? Not sure. If I do go back, I'll probably get the assorted appetizer platter and try a pasta or risotto but will skip the meats.

This little germ of paradise where the waiters (Gianni and Andrea, special thanks to them, but also Joyce, Ray and Anna) took care of us during our anniversary! We were seated in the wine cellar, just bring an extra layer just in case. The chef could adapt the menu to a vegetarian one. We had: - Cheese platter, served with mixed nuts and olives - Burrata with some cherry tomatoes and green emulsion - Gnocchi with walnuts and cheese - Risotto with black truffle - Parmigiana (super tender and soft at a point you can just use a spoon... Very, very tasty!) - (a REAL) Tiramisu Not only the atmosphere was amazing, the service was efficient, and cared to our needs, but the food was divine. Gracie to all the personnel at Cantina del Gio, we will definitely come back!

Great ambience and a beautiful restaurant to begin with. The food portion was big enough for its price, yet it was pretty greasy and mediocre in terms of the flavor and food quality. The reason of giving it only one star really is the service. It was obvious that some staffs are undertrained. First, some waiter dropped the spoon when serving without apologizing, then rudely took away our food without asking after the previous waitress was told to leave the plate while we were still working on it. It was also obscene to have the beer served in a full chug of foam without ice on the side where we had to get extra ice at the bar ourselves. It wasn’t a frenzy night where it got too busy to respect your customers. Overall it wasn’t a pleasant dining experience and we don’t seek to revisit.

In summary, don’t expect outstanding service. The staff couldn’t wait to rush us out the door, and we called ahead to ask if they have little birthday cakes for celebrations and was told yes they provide a complimentary cake. However, our server (and older lady) made the whole situation very awkward by coming up to our table to ask if we are celebrating a birthday and that they do not provide complimentary cake, in front of the birthday girl too! While we were waiting for our taxi indoors, the same lady held the door wide open ushering us out. It’s raining outside, can’t we wait inside for a few minutes? The whole experience left a sour taste in our mouth and very unwelcome.. never again!

Al dente! You can definitely have a taste of Italy here at Cantina del Gio. The food is authentic and wonderful. they have great Italian wine collections. Open kitchen and professional chiefs … The place is very thoughtfully decorated. The owners welcome you with warm hospitality. All these elements make you feel that you are somewhere in Italy. Oh the service is very warm and professional as well. I didn’t get a chance to have their pizza and entrée in my first visit. Planning to come back soon to sample their wines and few main courses

Very popular Italian restaurant, a mixture between a modern Italian style place. Salads, appetizer platter, meat dishes are more than enough to share. Pasta dishes are individual portions, the lobster ravioli was a small and unfulfilling (because it was that good and I wish there was more). Owner seems to be Italian and extremely friendly. Recommended a great and reasonably price wine. Service really good, food really good, all in all a great experience. Great for large groups looking for a fun night.

We ordered a mix appetizer palette, duck liver risotto, grill pork, tiramisu and a glass of house whine. Mix appetizer palettes: It was quite disappointing; I’m not if the grilled vegetables was made cold on purpose, but it wasn’t very pleasant for us. Duck Liver Risotto: Delicious! perfect balance among the sauce, cheese and the smell of truffle. Grilled pork: I personally love the taste of the charcoal, and the pork was chewy Tiramisu: Highlight of the night! Probably my favorite tiramisu so far!

Absolutely spectacular!!! Have been a big fan of Botega del Vin for years, must say Cantina del Gio perfectly explore its own characteristics and path. The King prawn AOP is totally stunning with perfect texture of pasta and well-integrated sauce. Not mentioning the steak and grilled fish honestly reflect the original beauty of ingredients. The only problem is I really wanna try everything on the menu with have limited space in my stomach. Will absolutely visit again with more friends!!

Came here for their Veneto Autumn Wine tasting, their food and wine pairing matches perfectly, great wine selections and generous pouring that doesn’t happened that often. All dishes were amazing, great service!! The owner was very friendly, and I loved how he put all strangers in the same table, wasn’t uncomfortable at all! Friendly and easy to meet people! Very generous, cozy place. Great selection for gathering or romantic occasion!

Great food with awesome service and friendly staff. I’m not sure if it was there sales pitch but the recommended some great wine and alcohol and grappa for us. My team and client had a blast. Will definitely visit there again to try there pasta and black wagyu steak.

Gorgonzola Blue Cheese Gnocchi with Porcini, Truffle Risotto

One of the best Italian restaurants in Taipei. Great food, ver authentic flavored, amazing service! The restaurant has such a homey and romantic atmosphere. Great wine selection and don’t forget the yummy desserts. Always a good choice for a lovely night out.

Loove this place. Great Atmopshere, staffs were polite, and most importantly all the foods were SO good I recommend the crab gnocchi and the mix meat platter! Everything tasted so delicious omg, I super super recommend Cantina. Owner is really friendly, came to our table and asked if everything’s ok, talked to us a little bit, not to mention he’s handsome as well!

Truffle Risotto

Came here for Christmas dinner special! Food were very good! Seasoning was good as well. The house wine offered were okay! I had one of my best burrata abs grilled pork chop here! Pasta is a little bit cold though! Recommend to visit if you have a big group of friends whom loves to eat meat! Dessert was okay.

Amazing! Arrived a bit to late to Botega and was recommended this place, which closes later, and saved my night and life! The food was delicious, the service very friendly, and the atmosphere chill and fun.

It's an awesome place, I am really happy spent time enjoying a good serving here. The sommelier was super professional and kind, you can just take easy ask any questions about your wine or any advice for drinks. Again, nice experience here, I do believe I will revisit again.

Had my birthday meal here. Everything was good, the taste the interior and the service. But since there’s smoking area outside we couldn’t enjoy it as much every time someone opens the door. Steak and ricotta cheese was great! But the wine and dessert was only ok.

Loved the place. The staff were warm and attentive. The food was great and high cp value. So happy we live next door to them. Will definitely visit again.

Great food and cocktails AND fabulous atmosphere!! Lots of great wine options, also a nice selection of gin! But the mixed cocktails are my favorite! Not one item on the food menu has disappointed so far! I even ate the pork (I don’t eat pork!!)

星期二造訪另外一家店，跟著爸爸走到這一家參觀。沒想到周四就跑來吃了。餐廳位於大樓的一樓，前身是一個西班牙餐廳，紅色的磚牆柱給人一種非常義大利的感覺，屋簷下可以抽菸。今天兩人，所以點了綜合開胃菜及12oz的肋眼牛排。另外加上一瓶白酒。這邊比較不一樣的地方是水是收水資，可以無限享用。綜合開胃拼盤一樣的讓人驚豔生火腿、一般火腿、麵包、烤蔬菜等等，份量10足。肋眼牛排具有炭火的香味，熟度適中，吃起來肉汁滿溢。基本上食物的品質一樣的好，兩邊的感覺有點不同。下次一定也會來享用~

Food is great but I was hoping to have a more regional (Italian) flavour. Tiramisu is great, much better than most places in Town. Wine-list is quite extensive and affordable price range.

Authentic Italian restaurant. I always order this combo dish and share it with my friends over a glass of wine. Nice festive atmosphere with professional staff and quite a few people.
