*UPDATE: I received a call back after I posted the review below the following day asking about the dose again and I had to be put on hold for over 10 minutes with no one coming back to the phone. When you ask to put someone on "a brief hold," check in with them if it's more than a few minutes. Basic customer service. So then I called back again and had to wait another 10 minutes for one of the receptionists to speak to the vet. Poor and incorrect communication never used to be prevalent, but I guess it is now. I also received a letter of termination of Veterinary Services after the following review. Three days after the date of the termination of Veterinary Services letter (12/15/2023) I received a voicemail from the manager, Emily, on 12/18/2023, stating I asked to speak to her about medication refills. I had never asked to speak to her as her voicemail indicated. If this practice is unwilling to take my honest feedback and help make experiences better so clients and pets don't have to jump through hopes every time for the simplest things, than perhaps they felt termination was in their best interest. I had decided to give them another chance after they hurt my dog, and now I regret it. *REVIEW:I previously left a one-star review after originally leaving a five-star review. I removed the one-star review because Dr. Gill genuinely seemed like he was trying to make amends for the poor experiences I had had that led up to the one-star view. However, this place just continually disappoints me with their lack of care and empathy. Dr. Gill stated they care about pets and that that is their main concern. However, my dog has been in pain, and I called the office before she ran out of her medication to get a refill. It's been 6 days since I asked for the refill, and I still don't have the medication. I was told I would receive a call once the medication had been filled. I continued to wait and give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was a supply issue. However, waiting 6 days for a medication refill is ridiculous, so I called to figure out what was going on with the refill. After being put on a 10-minute hold and nobody coming back to the phone, I hung up and called again. I told whoever answered the phone this time around, they didn't give their name, that I was on hold for 10 minutes, and no one came back. I received no apology whatsoever. Her tone was transactional, and she seemed like she could care less. So when I told her I'd been waiting 6 days for a medication refill, her response was "Well I could get that filled for you now." Then she almost filled the wrong dose. It is just one issue after another every single time I need to have dealings with this vet. I constantly run into issues now. The front staff used to be great when the original staff was there, but now that they have different people running the front desk, everything is a chaotic mess.

I hate that I have to leave a bad review, but I think it's necessary. Our dog was approaching 13 or 14 years and experienced a gradual decline in health. What started over a year ago as occasional limping and vomiting eventually resulted in next to no mobility in his back legs and nightly vomiting and discomfort. We have gone to this vet in the past. They didn't express concern previously and attributed his conditions to old age. His quality of life became increasingly poor, we could see how miserable even walking outside to use the bathroom was for him, so we sought a consultation with this vet about end of life care. This vet audibly scolded us for considering euthanization and ordered a bevy of X-rays, blood work, and medication. Where was this level of concern all the times we took him before? We acknowledged that our primary concern was his ability to be comfortable and keep food down so we opted against X-rays for now. The vet agreed and prescribed medication to manage pain and advised to let his back heal so that he could regain mobility. 3 days after this appointment his mobility improved but he stopped eating and drinking altogether. He was in misery. We spent the next few nights comforting him and reached out to the vet about our concerns. All she had to say was his blood work was "fine" and that x-rays were necessary. What? Why? We found our dog deceased Monday night. We feel extremely let down, frustrated, and defeated. Our concerns were never heard. Our dog suffered in a way we never wanted. It was as if we and the vet were looking at two different dogs. We were hit with fees for work we didn't feel would have prolonged his life or improved his quality of life. Absolutely devasted and disappointed with this vet.

We LOVE Dr. Gil, and so does our older dog Max. We won't let any other vet put Max under for teeth cleaning. We only trust Dr. Gil because he is careful and attentive with Max. My only complaint is that this facility used to be the best and cleanest around but it seems to always be a bit dirty now with pet hair and dust all over. Max has been more skittish when visiting the vet lately and I think it's because it's just not as clean as it was when he first started going there. Because the cleanliness has gone down and Max is more skittish, we are tending to not bring Max in as often, and we are dreading each teeth cleaning when he needs to come in. I have seen employees (I think vet techs etc.) trying diligently to keep up with cleaning, but it's beyond what they can manage on top of their usual jobs. The problem is the grime and pet hair that gets crammed into corners and crevices etc. takes more effort to clean. I would recommend the vets hire a professional cleaning company to deep clean (vacuum, mop and wipe all the floors and surfaces) every night to give the facility a fresh start each day, or at least weekly. It doesn't cost that much to hire professional cleaners (my sister owns a cleaning company in another state). Professional cleaners would relieve the pressure on employees so they can focus more on our pets, and it would bring this vet clinic back to the very best in the area again. Other than the complaint about cleaning, this is still our favorite vet and clinic.

My baby boy echo was in a dog fight and began to get an abscess from it on his left side, I asked if Dr.Gill could take a look a look at it because I was worried sick about the infection and the care he provided for echo for his treatment and his wounds and doing everything he can to make sure echo was comfortable is the exact reason why I travel all the way from across town to get my animals seen by him. I’ve been to I believe 4 different animals hospitals now and even his staff is the best I’ve seen yet, every single assistant, tech and receptionist I’ve spoken with I have nothing but good things to say about those individuals and my other dog daisy saw Dr.LeBeau and she had the absolute same care and concern and love Dr.Gill has for echo so seriously I applaud Dr.Gill for the all around amazing hospital he has running because it takes my worry away when I need to take them in knowing no matter who touches my babies they will be receiving the absolute best care. On a final note it’s hard to know from the outside which hospital is good or not so I would definitely recommend checking canyon out because I know for me as long as I’m living even within a distance of Vegas I will be going here for my babies every single time without question. Thank you Dr.Gill and all of his staff for everything you guys do it is appreciated more than y’all know.

We just had a wonderful first experience at Canyon pet hospital. Everyone I spoke with, from initial phone call to when we walked out the door was friendly and helpful. The practice is owned by a single vet who sees every animal himself and takes personal responsibility for the health and well-being of each pet. Dr. Gill took his time with me and my puppy, answered all my questions and then asked if I had other questions. He went into detail and taught me how to monitor my puppy's health at home. After initially going to a pet hospital where my puppy was examined in a back room, I really appreciated the opportunity to be involved in my pet's exam and care. The facility itself is beautiful and spotless. There is plenty of parking. I also really appreciate the Saturday hours, since both my husband and I work long hours during the week. The practice is brand new, and I'm sure at some point there was be growing pains, but my experience this morning was flawless... And very affordable! I think right now they are offering special rates because they just opened. It's a total steal... Dr. Gill went to a top-tier veterinary school and has been in practice in the Vegas area for at least 5 years. We're very lucky to have him, and his wonderful staff, in Skye Canyon.

I cant thank the staff and Dr. Gill more. I am from IL and took my baby to 3 different vets that didn't want to touch the huge mass on her paw, so I was referred to a specialist. When I came here, I just wasn't feeling confident with where I was referred. So working in the same area as the Pet Hospital, naturally I went in. When I went in, they were so busy, yet very calm and professional. The Dr. was on his way out and stopped to see what I needed. Which was a great first impression. He immediately put me on the schedule to look at her paw. Right away he said I can do it and we were scheduled. He did an AMAZING job with her! Dr. Gill checks in on Miley, and makes sure she is all around doing great. They truly care as much as we do. The staff works hard and is very knowledgeable and helps with everything. It feels more like a family here, than an office. Also the prices are great! I spend less in NV than I did in IL! I refer EVERYONE here. I have NEVER been to such an amazing office. Thank you so much Dr. Gill and staff for making such a stressful process a breeze. Also thank you for loving my little girl as much as I do! You guys are truly amazing! :)

I decided to bring my dogs here after reading wonderful reviews and immediately knew i made the right decision for my Vet choice and today my family was driving home and witnessed a cat get hit by a car. After calling numerous vets in the area to find help for this poor suffering baby not one of them would help so we decided to bring him into our vet. We thought we would end up paying but we couldn't bear the thought of a baby suffering outside alone. Our vet took this poor baby in with no charge to us. They scanned for chip but was unable to find one but at least they took the baby in to help him so that he did not suffer anymore. Skye Canyon Pet is AMAZING the staff there is wonderful. They are truly there to help our babies and that is rare to find. I will never go to another vet ever again. Thank you to all the staff and doctors at Skye Canyon pet!!!!!

I had a great first experience with CPH. Very friendly lady Jennifer answered the phone when I called for appt., she was very knowledgeable and accommodating, set me up right away for an exam for my boy "Bear". He's a handful, but the vet tech was experienced with the breed and did great. The appt was great, the staff were very friendly. I didn't hit it off with the Dr., no ones "fault", just differing expectations of "service" and "bedside manner". But I see from the reviews that Dr. Gill seems to be the leading choice among customers, so perhaps next time, I'll ask for him. The cost was very reasonable, the facility is clean and well managed. Everyone is exceptionally pleasant, which is good to see. "Customer Service"... I've retired from the field after 45+ years, so I have certain expectations, and CPH met them all.

Dr. Gil is my vet I have followed him around from practice or practice until he got his own business. He save my dog life.. I one hundred percent trust him with my dogs and cats well-being and there life’s.He is is amazing and he’s caring, and very knowledgeable... He really cares about your pet . When I have had a pet emergency he’s been right there.. I have six dogs and a cat I should know.. plus like most vets he doesn’t overe charge he’s very reasonable prices he won’t absolutely run a test unless you have to have it and if he says you have to have it then you should do it. I can only say he’s the best veterinarian I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of veterinarians. He’s way across town for me but he’s worth the travel I still wouldn’t go anywhere else. One day I was sitting in a vet office waiting on hour 7 for my cat to be seen even though she had been vomiting for almost 12 hours at that point. I took her here and she was seen within 20 minutes, and they discovered her teeth were rotting, something my previous vet hadn't noticed, even though they had seen her twice that month already for her vomiting (that they couldn't solve). If you're sitting in a vet office scrolling through these reviews looking for a sign that you should switch, this is it. Dr. Gill is amazing, honest and genuine. His staff is always the same, always on the ball. The facility is clean and new. The cost is very reasonable and all estimates are provided up front.

Took my dog for blood work and annual tests. They drew blood on Wednesday and was told I’ll be getting call back within 24 hours. I didn’t get the phone call. So I called back. Every day I’ve been calling and they’re refusing to provide the rest results or have the Dr call me back to discuss the results with me. I will be filing a chargeback with my credit card company at this point as there’s no way to getting through the front desk person. The woman is incredibly rude. Unprofessional. Made fun of my accent and suggested I shall seek different vet if I don’t like how they ‘roll’. So. Your call if you’d like to use this place.

Best vet office in North Las Vegas, hands down. As soon as I walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest staff. They got us checked in and in a room right away, and answered any questions I had right then and there. Dr. Gill is very friendly and easy to talk to, and he explained very clearly the procedure and aftercare for my puppy, we talked about some other concerns and he was happy to answer all of my questions very thoroughly. This is definitely a place I feel comfortable taking my pets to, and I know they will be given the best care possible by a great team. I am so glad we came here!

I brought a older cat(Pinky)in to Dr.Gill after attempts with other vets. Immediately he knew what was wrong without trying to milk me for every penny. He could have easily told me to try this and try that and when you love your pet you will. He kept it so real with me that the best thing to do was move on. It was better for the cat with how sick he was. Now I'm going to be contacting them about a dog I adopted that needs to be neutered and chipped. I will only trust Dr.Gill with my pets from here on out. I'll never forget the compassion they showed us.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Dr. Gill is. My small dog ate a bunch of chocolate on Memorial Day, and Dr. Gill met me at the hospital and took excellent care of my four legged baby. He didn't even think twice about meeting me at the hospital on a holiday. He explained everything he was doing, and encouraged me to contact him if I had any questions or any problems. Very professional, and courteous. I will definitely be bring both of my dogs to Dr. Gill for all of my veterinary needs. THANK YOU DR GILL!!

I have been on the lookout for a vet that felt like home, and I finally found it at Canyon Pet Hospital. Dr. Gill is amazing - he is thorough, kind, compassionate and listens to you and your pet. This place is amazing! Such caring and kind staff, from the lady who welcomed us and helped book our 1st appointment, to the lady who roomed us to the pet tech! They are all super! The doctor is wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. We loved them ALL! We've been patients at another "popular vet hospital" for years, but the one-on-one caring service, beautiful inside, views in the waiting rooms, is OUTSTANDING. I'm proud to say this will be our new vet! And the convenience is a huge bonus!

I absolutely love this vet and so does my Husky who it’s important for her to like. I’ve been going to Dr. Gill since before he opened this vet and I knew Hinata liked him, however this time around I got to see first hand just how they interacted with each other, and I was blown away with how comfortable she was with him. She didn’t flinch for a single shot. She turned and let him poke her without every fighting it. If I could give 100⭐️ I would!!

Dr Gill is great! He gives excellent care to my three rescue Chihuahua's. This Hospital is privately owned, has awesome staff, reasonable prices and is always clean. When my former Veterinary Hospital, which I was with for 15 years, got bought out by a big corporation, their prices went sky high, customer service was poor and customer loyalty was not longer a factor. I decided to try Dr Gill at Canyon Pet Hospital. I couldn't be happier.

I brought in my pup because she had been feeling sick and not eating for the past couple days. Blown away by this new Animal Hospital. My Pets were previously patients of Centennial Hill Animal Hospital who are good, however I'm glad I decided to get a second opinion on a diagnosis. My cat Boo was able to be seen same day. The facility was clean, organized and the correct diagnosis and medicine was provided which cured my Cat. The prices were very competitive. Thank you!

This vet is one of the best ones in Vegas! Dr Gill and his team are absolutely amazing. They take their time to listen to any concerns you have and they don't overmedicate like the rest. They're reasonably priced and I genuinely trust them with both of my rescues. Especially compared to some of the more sketch ones on this side of town. Very grateful that I found them!

Everyone at this establishment were courteous and professional. They were patient with the fact that I forgot Eddie’s paperwork and still attended to his dry fur and skin. My waits were brief which I definitely appreciate for Eddie since he is 16 and has many previous unpleasant vet visits. Thank you for making sure Eddie was taken care of.

Dr. Gill truly cares about your pet. You don’t have to worry about them trying to scorch your pockets. They will not charge unnecessary fees or run any unnecessary diagnostics before making sure that your pet isn’t simply suffering from something simple and fixable at home. I’ve run into some greedy vets and this pet hospital is not one.

I'm new to the area and was nervous about bringing my even more nervous chihuahua for a visit. The whole experience was fantastic, from the front desk to the exam. Best pet clinic in town! I've had so many horrible experiences with vets in Vegas but this one is legit. The Dr is knowledgeable and gave great advice for my dog's allergies. They also weren't pushy about getting other unnecessary services done and don't seem money hungry. The staff are polite. I recommend this clinic over any other.

Dr. Gill has been treating my dog Bear for this past week. Bear just puked and needed to get new medicine. Not only did Dr. Gill answer the phone after hours, he came in so that Bear could get new meds. I don’t know of many other vets that would be willing to do that, and I can’t recommend him enough. Doctor Gill is a great doctor willing to work with you on any issues your pet might need. His office will get you in whenever they can, often same day on short notice. I trust him with my pet and he's always my go to with any acute issues.

One of the hardest things I've had to do as an adult is to have my dog put to sleep. They made the process as comfortable as they could and they really care. Thank you for taking me in on super short notice, it's really appreciated.
