Grew up rollerblading in Assiniboine Park and now that I'm older there's a lil bar in it, yea!! Build 4 years ago this a great addition to a great park. They allowed me in with my Rollerblades and did a lil rip around the space. It's dog and bike friendly; dogs must me leashed and well behaved and bikes are just to be parked at the rack on the other side of the fence. They serve a great selection of local flavors. Did a few samples and decided on their Dead Horse Cherry Cider! Honestly, this location is a hidden in a favorite location right next to the duck pond. Easily sits 40 to 50 people, some spots have board games and lights are strung up between the trees. They also have two spots for lawn games to bring out some added drinking games. Checked with one of the workers and circular tables open up and turn into fire drums. Told that people like to bring their own blankets to stay cozy in the evenings too. Music is playing to add some nice tunes to the patio and along with the sound of water from the Duck Pond, it's truly a great atmosphere. As well as they have seating on top of the bar for about 8 to 10 people to get a bit of a birds eye view. I am excited to invite and meet up with friends here!!! ***Was also told the venue can be rented out for events as well!***

The atmosphere's lovely when the weather's right, but at the end of the day you're paying a bit too much for the pleasure of sitting outside. It's $9.50 for a Fort Garry Dark before taxes and tip. Am I old, or do you also recall a time when you could get a 12'er for less than 40 bucks at the LC? The food is hard to order because nobody's staffing the place, overpriced, and not terribly varied. You can get $3 worth in tortilla chips and hastily chopped pico del gallo for 11 bucks. My friend had a weird issue with the poached eggs? Do they really poach them one at a time? The patrons femme wear lacy white tops and loose cotton jeans like a uniform, the menfolk wear whatever they want... And there's no need to leave your pets at home (or, heaven forbid, in the car!). If you're there on the right night, you might even catch an actual dog fight--between actual dogs. The bike racks are non-functional for any human-sized bikes, but you can bring your iron steed inside the fence for safekeeping, if you can find somewhere to lean it. The chairs aren't made for long term sitting. It's a great concept, in an amazing location, but poorly implemented. We're going to look elsewhere for post-soccer hangs.

Pretty nice place. The park is beautiful. It's a great location to have a little pop-up bar. There's some shade, but not that much, so it could be unpleasant on a particularly hot day. The prices are pretty high for a can of beer. They have 4 beers on tap and then about 12 different options in cans. There's also wine, cocktails, and some non-alcoholic options. There's no free tap water available, likely because it's a pop-up thing. But you either pay $2 for a water bottle or more for a non-alcoholic drink. Just feels like an outdoor, summer bar should be encouraging people to stay hydrated just a little more.

My friend and I rode our bikes here with my 2 dogs to have a few afternoon drinks. The area is amazing! Such a lovely spot by the duck pond. They have a huge jenga set and corn hole to play. Water bowls for dogs too! The bike lock up location is inside the fences area which is great so they are within watch. We ordered the taco chips and salsa which was delicious. Only wish they had some cheaper food options and menu options like a simple hot dog and potato chips or Veggie and dip.

A great addition to Assiniboine Park! Large outdoor patio space that is located near the duck pond. It is a sea can bar! Decent selection of local craft beers and cocktail menu. Dog friendly patio with water bowls available for your fur baby. There is a large jenga game for your entertainment. Patio seating is not the most comfortable which if it were I would have stayed longer I had the “Toba Collins” which was refreshing on a hot day. Check it out.

Lovely setting with plenty of seating. There's a small food truck next to it. Dogs are allowed. No bikes on patio. Draft Beer is small and $8 after tip is the only reason for a 4. Cherry cider is delicious! $9 without tip. Super nice service. Lots of pokemon go stops at this location.

Went to the bar for my birthday on Wednesday - super staff person, Autumn, was very helpful in our choice of beverage selection! She was great and we loved everything about our time there! Hope to make it an outing one afternoon each week as we wonder our way through a beautiful Winnipeg summer! Really impressed with the music, the setting and the really pleasant environment!

Very cool stop right in the middle of Assiniboine Park. Service was exceptional! Drinks were fun and has a great summer feel to it. Def stop in if you’re in the area. Winnioeg is such an awesome place when you check out all it has to offer! Don’t try the food but was tempted because of the amazing looking plates walking by.

Beautiful Location,Lots of seating and there were fire pits to be warm.Great live Music. Staff is friendly. How ever the Cocktail are awful paid $9 for a glass of Puple boolsom Cocktail.which is expensive.its was just full of ice just a pinch of puple, taste like water nothing else ..expensive ice water that I ever paid .

I just went for my first walk through the park in so long cuz of our most recent cold spell. I was absolutely shocked and happy to see Cargo Bar open!! One of the best winter venues around!!! Thank you for helping us get through these crazy times.

It's was really bad experience because there is sign says this is bike freindly but the guy says you are not allowed to ride inside. You can ride the bike in the park which has kids and dogs but not by the patio because its dangerous.

Such a great summer Winnipeg thing. Unique drink menu. This year, there is a Mexican food truck with short menu. Would have been nicer if there were one or two more food truck and various options.

I usually come here in the summer when Dance World Co puts on their Latin Bachata Nights. Great vibes and energy.

Great place to go to as a destination during a bike ride. Bike rack inside the venue is ideal. Great selection of local beers with spots that are shady on a hot day.

So good to see these types of spaces in winnipeg now. Great place to get refreshments after hanging in the park all day or to meet a friend for a casual drink.

I absolutely love coming to Cargo Bar, the drinks are on point and the ambiance is perfect in the summer. It's also pet friendly which is a big plus for me!

Awesome concept. About time Manitoba/Winnipeg got with the times! Only request - Step up the Ceasars this year! They are kinda basic.

Really fun place with great park views. Matthew (staff) was very helpful And he even started a fire for us as we sat by the fire pit.
