Year 1- I was referred to Cash Tax& Accounting by a good friend after my previous tax preparer had retired. I took my tax info up in January because I expected to have to pay out of pocket because we had sold an investment property etc. I wanted to know what I would owe well in advance of the tax deadline to be prepared for what I owed. After waiting about a month I called to see if they were getting close to completing my taxes, but hadn't even started on them. Long story short they let me know they were ready about a week before the tax deadline. Now the story gets good-I pick up my taxes and see that I owe $6000+ to Federal WHAT!?!? Now that the deadline is a week a way I didn't have time to take them somewhere else to have them looked at, so I sent a check. About 2 months later I received a large refund check in the mail from the IRS. Thinking it is some kind of scam I call Cash to see what's going on. They have me bring the check up to look at it. The check turns out to be legit. What had happened was they had me pick up my taxes which hadn't been completed, and then e-filed the completed return with the correct amount in the meantime. Year 2-Not sure why I went back. This tax season should have been exactly the same as the previous year. Sold one property which had the same investors as the previous year, and had the same rental house. It was basically identical to the year before. After asking/waiting for them to bill I thought that maybe they just decided to do them for free for causing all the issues the previous year. Nope, I finally received a bill in late September for $675 which was nearly $300 more than they charged me the first year. Then I got another bill for $750 because they had forgot to add the $75 for the 1099s I had them fill out for me. I couldn't believe that the cost would be so much more than the previous year. I spent about a month trying to get a hold of Cheryl to find out why it was so much more. I called the office, stopped by the office, and emailed to see if I could get someone to call me back. I finally got and email that basically said, "To busy to call you back. We spent extra time trying to figure out the different houses. Thanks." I went to Bev's Tax Service (I think they are switching the name to BTS) this year. Basically the same tax situation as before, but actually sold the rental this last year (complicates things a little more). Bev only charged me $250 which included the 1099s I needed done. it only took a little over a week to get them back to me which was super helpful! Save yourself time and money. Do not go to Cash Tax & Accounting.

I was referred to this firm. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. Not only did I turn my taxes in February but they put an extension on until the end of October but the communication was not there. None, zip. I had tried multiple times to call them and speak with someone and in return no one ever calling me back. I finally got tired after around the 7th time and started emailing them in June/July for any feedback at all. They mentioned it takes months to get a hold of the IRS to gather information. I called the IRS one time and got them on the phone and had to 3 way Cash Tax Accounting just to get their job done for them.(Im sure I got "lucky" here) I typically get my taxes read over with a professional in the firm to understand the outcome with my taxes and any errors. I got a PDF that I can't read and/or understand, as I don't do this for a career, to try and look over to see errors. The first thing I noticed is claiming children we don't claim but was never asked. The list goes on with the disappointment I've incurred. Not only did I fire them but they never filed(Its close to November at this point) and they are asking for a significant/ridiculous amount of money for the "work" they did. I own my own business and we put in a lot of work and at the end of the day if it's not accepted by the client, I don't get paid, regardless of the hours I put in. Not to compare this with my personal business, but to make it clear, I get it. I don't think they deserve to get paid much less the thousands...yes thousands of dollars they are asking for out of this. OH, and that is also "discounted " for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, I don't recommend them.

This was my first year using this business. My wife started her own private practice and I started a real estate investment company so we wanted to optimize our return and work with an organized team that could take care of our more complicated return. We had all of the information to them in February and they did not complete our work until 5 days before tax day. I found an $8000 error and asked them for a meeting and Cheryl’s husband was flabbergasted that I am suggesting they made an error. We had a meeting 2 days later and I showed them their errors. While I worked with Cheryl, her husband felt the need to inform us that there was only a $500 credit for Solar as opposed to a 30% credit. I worked with another CPA group to prepare my solar documents and insisted she use them. The night before tax day I received the corrected return but wanted to have time to discuss the return with the other CPAs before we filed. She told me that that was “offensive.” I asked her for an extension and she said she would. I then followed up with her to verify that an extension was filed and she told me she did. 2 days later I received a return from the IRS. They had already sent my 1st attempt at a return, without my authorization and did not own up to it. Cheryl lied to me about filing an extension as opposed to owning up to her mistake a week prior. There were weeks of no communication, there was lost documentation, and many other issues that are not relevant but still not professional. In the end, only a fleeting apology and no discount offered for the poor service that was provided.

Take your business elsewhere. I was recommended them by a friend. I had an initial consultation with them and explained my tax situation is very complicated. Cheryl assured me that they would take care of me. I gathered my documents and told them I would need an extension filed and my state still needs to be filed. I receive no communication until 2 days before tax day. I get a call at 9:00pm at night asking me if I had sent the documents. I had several times already and was confused. They got my extension filed but missed filing my state. They took till June to file my state after asking for updates for a month. I kept getting excuses like “are phone system is down”. And I get no responses to emails. Fast forward to this week and I get a fine from the state because the filed it so late. So now I have to pay that out of pocket. Avoid this business at all costs. If they rectify their mistakes with me, I will happily update this review. Cheryl and Mike, do better.

Cheryl and her team use to be reputable. Over the past few years this accounting firm has gone downhill. I have been lied to, mislead, ignored and it took 7 months for her to do my taxes!! Then she told me, " After you pay your bill, I will tell you how to amend your taxes and file them." This is after she has had them for 7 months!! This should have been completed WAY SOONER! She literally told me she did a half job and if I want them fixed, I can pay her more money. How do I know that they are done correctly at all!!! There is always an excuse, no one to talk or she sends unprofessional emails. Because of the NEGLIGENCE of CHERYL CASH and HER TEAM ALL MY BUSNIESSES ARE AT RISK!! Don't let them do anything for your tax's folks.

I parked at the very back of the lot of this business briefly to make a phone call. There were several available parking spots in the whole lot. I was very rudely confronted and told I could not park in front of their business. The male stood outside until he saw I drove away. I would never choose to use this business in the future due to the interaction I had with one of its employees (possibly the owner). Business must be very slow if they have that much time on their hands to watch their parking lot so closely. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the lot to show how empty it was.

We've used Cash Tax & Accounting for personal and small business tax and accounting issues for years and are very satisfied. So much so that we continue to recommend friends and family. I will say that Cheryl and crew aren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for with them. And honestly, when it comes to dealing with the IRS, why would you want to take your chances with anyone less qualified?

I have not stepped foot in this place, but visited the eye doctor nearby and was told I could not park near their door. I believe this place would not make a good business recommendation if all they have to do is watch in the parking lot for people parking in what they call their spaces. Would not want to be a customer. Good luck monitoring your so-called parking lot!

If you have not checked out this accounting firm you should. They will take care of your personal, and business taxes. You owe it to yourself to use the best when dealing with the IRS. Don't let the IRS take your cash Call Cash Tax and Accounting!
