Horrible experience. i have ins but they made me pay the cost up front !! (I paid $557 ).. Even with the Dental Ins they treated me like cash customer..(Not to mention that a month before another Castle Dental on 8132 Kirby Drive has offered me the treatment for only for $148 that location also declined to give me my regular cleaning which is free with ins ) Then i get a statement from my Dental Ins Company. My Dental ins statement states that insured responsibility is $319 it turns out that i have overpaid $238 just for the treatment . They gave me two medication that states its a take home medication Mi Paste Plus + PerioGard ( $39 +$69 =$109 ) These medications are covered by any health ins !! They did not offer me a prescription for it .With my ins these prescriptions would have only cost me $10, I should also mention that they have opened the bottles infront of me assuming that they did not want me to bring them back and return them !! Mi Paste Plus does not even have a upc ( It might even be a sample that can not be sold !! They probably got it free ) Let's do the math again I have been charged ($557 ) My ins statement says i should have been charged ($319) Medication extra charge ($39+69 =$109) Treatment overcharge 557-319= $238 Treatment overcharge $238+ (Take Home Med )$109 =$347 (Remember take home med would have been $10 if they would have gave me a prescription for it ) After getting the Insurance statement i have called my Insurance company on Jan 22nd they advised me to go get a refund from Castle Dental.My Insurance company also took a complaint report regarding to this office .. On Jan 23rd Walked into their office asked for a refund by bringing my Insurance statement with me Outcome they declined the refund !! '' Patient Engagement Specialist Charlote from Castle Dental responded me via Email on Jan 23rd Thank you for reaching out to me directly. I have communicated your concern to the field leaders for this office to ensure this is looked into. '' No outcome yet Jan 27 I hired an attorney ,sent them a certified letter gave them 10 days to resolve this issue.. Jan Jan 30 Got a voice mail from their district manager Patty She leaves me a voice mail from a private number. Promises that she would resolve the issue ,promises to call me back,does not leave me a number for call back.. Still have not heard from her yet.. In several days i will take them to small claims court I have reported them to my ins company and i am going to report them to Texas Department of Insurance and BBB.. I do not recommend this Castle Dental to anyone. They are greedy, they overcharge ,their locations does not honor other Castle Dental prices or treatments, they treat you like a cash customer even if you go with the ins. They do not follow ins agreed amount charges,they do not give you a prescription for the medication instead they charge you the full price and open the medication in front of you so you cant return. Such a horrible experience.

Update: I had gotten a cavity filled and about two weeks later something broke in that area while I was eating a taffy candy. I came back and the dentist said it wasn't that the filling that came out, but instead that the tooth behind it had broken. I was 20 at the time and became both extremely concerned and confused why my teeth would randomly be breaking at that age. I was naive and thought it would be too ridiculous for him to have lied so I took his word at face value. When I asked the hygienist at this location she also played along with the dentist and told me "teeth just break sometimes." Years later I went to a different dentist who let me know it was clearly the filling that had come apart. I genuinely don't know how this dentist or the hygienist live with themselves. Original: There are a whole lot of things this place does wrong. You would think when they say "Must Pay in Full Up Front" and you agree to, they wouldn't send you a bill afterwards to charge more. I got gum cleanings here and it cost about $140 with insurance. There was a cost breakdown and I saw the only portion of the treatment that insurance did not cover at all was "irrigation" which cost $70. I asked what this was and why it was required, and I was told that they used a "special tool" to apply a "special cleaning solution" and that my treatment would be incomplete and ineffective without it. When I was getting the treatment it turned out the "special tool" was a syringe, the "special cleaning solution" was the same mouthwash that I had been prescribed when I got my wisdom teeth removed (it cost $4 for a large container), and the application process sprinkling it on my gums. They could have just had me swish it in my mouth for 20 seconds, but I imagine they couldn't have charged me $70 for that. I guess there was a reason insurance refused to cover it. I was going to let this go until I got an extra bill in the mail. They have a small sign at the front that says something along the lines of "Pay in Full Before Treatment." I didn't mind that, I assume they had gotten ripped off a couple of times, so I paid in full each time I visited. Unfortunately, a couple of months after, I received a bill with additional charges. This is completely unacceptable. I was never told about being charged anything later and in fact was required to pay fully up front. Now they're asking me to pay something I never agreed to pay and was never told about.

If you are considering this dentist, understand that at nearly all ethical dentist offices across the country, the standard procedure for a general check up is 1) hygienist cleans your teeth 2) dentist inspects and determines if you need additional work. This is not how Castle operates. Regardless of what you thought you booked, they will start with the dentist looking at your teeth and tell you that you need additional services, outside of what your insurance covers. This is not normal. It's fraudulent. This is the dentist not caring for you but instead trying to get extra money. Don't fall for it. My experience here started half an hour after my appointment was booked. The dentist was cold, disinterested in me. They didn't ask about my dental history, even bother reading the forms I filled out. Just told me I need to pay to have a special cleaning. Then they sent me back out to the waiting room which was odd. The front ladies then tried to sell me on additional procedures, which I refused. When the dental hygienist did see me, she rushed through the cleaning and made it very uncomfortable. If you are nervous or hate cleanings, this hygienist will make it even worse for you with how aggressive she is. I had told the staff I only wanted the cleaning my insurance covered. Even still, they tried to apply additional coatings and I had to continually remind them not to. *UPDATE* Four months after my visit, they have sent me a bill. I reviewed with my insurance agency, and they have charged me for services I did not receive.

Definitely NOT for kids. Horrible experience today as I took my 7 year old for his cavity issues. The nurse over there wasn't trained to work with kids. She hurried to get his bite wing X-ray and it started to hurt my son. He started crying cause even after 5 mins of fidgeting they couldn't manage to get an x-ray. The nurse then proceeded to tell me that the doctor can't see my son cause he only sees "well behaved children". All this in seriousness and in front of my son. It's a holiday weekend and my options were limited so I proceeded to calm my son down and he agreed to give the bite wing X-ray another shot. The nurse then told me that even after he takes the X-ray the doctor won't see him cause he's already cried once! I told her this is normal, children cry! The doctor came and I was hoping for a resolution but he bluntly told me to take my son to a specialist. The nurse told me to go to a pediatric dentist at another location but they will only have opening in late December. I was livid, no one told me that the doctor doesn't see children at the time of booking the appointment. This is ridiculous. It's almost like they're scared of kids. Such a poor way of handling patients. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Now at 4 pm before a holiday weekend I have no options for my 7 year old who's in pain.

The best dentist experience that I have ever had. Front staff is very professional, educated, kind, gentle, and most beautiful people I've ever met. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. I first want to mention they got me in as a walk-in and I was in a lot of pain and let's just say they make miracles happen here. I walked in with pain and out without it! This is the place to be to get all your dental needs taken care of. Lydia is the absolutely the best. She is super brilliant and did a wonderful job with my cleaning. She made me feel super comfortable and made me feel right at home. Dr. Pham is wonderful he did a magnificent job always concerned with how I am doing. He would tell me just to raise my hand if I felt uncomfortable. He was so amazing. Rhonda is the best dental assistant ever. She is excellent at what she does and explains everything in detail. This place is great with educating their patients. They have provided the best patient experience. Ms. Kanita, and M Cris (My favorite) are the dream team!!! I am so glad I found this place. I must say, Mrs. Kanita, Mrs. Lydia (hygienist) and Dr. Sheng (dentist) and Mrs Shandra and Mrs Tiffany are amazing. When Dr. Sheng did my extraction, she noticed that I suffer from anxiety (from the numbing needle) and took such great care of me. She even followed up with me via text to make sure I was going ok the following day. The ladies at the reception desk always go above and beyond. I Transferred to this dental location from another and Mrs Kanita really went out of her way to help me by making sure the transition was smooth and that I was/am getting the best care. I came in today during my lunch break today and Mrs Shandra and Mrs Kanita got me in and out with the quickness for my follow up appointment. And today, I realized that the excellent service is provided by all staff because Mrs Lydia was so welcoming and supportive in making sure I understood what to do to maintain the health of my teeth moving forward. I have every intention to stay with this castle dental location as long as I can. The staff is amazing, welcoming, supportive and genuine and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Stay away from this place!!! Unethical billing practices in my opinion. Will over charge and over bill you for treatment that you don't need. I went there was told I need a deep cleaning although I had a cleaning approximately 6 months prior, just not at Castle and that I had cavities. I went to another dentist guess what? I didn't have any cavities and I didn't require a deep cleaning. So what am I supposed to think about Castle they had me pay additional fees for services that I didn't need and they billed my insurance for other services. Mind you I was required to pay for charges before the services were rendered, they billed the insurance and received payment, now they have the audacity to send me a bill in the mail. All I ever received a so called deep cleaning and X-Rays. I will never go back I will take all of my dental needs to Mint Dentistry!!! I hope Mint but Castle lousy butts out of business!!!

I agree other review. Place is a nightmare. They have racial issues they bring to work that are very misplaced. They seem to assume all white people are racists so if you're white you're in for their catty, surly, slow behavior & constant lying to you while they sabotage your entire scheduling & paperwork. Dr. Pham is a good dentist but he seems oblivious to his staff issues. Dr. Sheng the roaming specialist treats you like you're stupid, makes plans she doesn't keep, is completely unreachable, takes 3 weeks to read a CAT scan & then tries to pump you for several consultation fees. They use xrays for convenience like they are going out of style. The place is an open room with no walls so everyone can hear & you have to hear other patients. It's like an old barber shop from the 1800s. Never again.

The intake process is redundant not streamlined. You answer all of these questions over the phone before they schedule your appointment. When you arrive they ask you to fill out paperwork with the same questions. They are still requiring clients to wear masks. Which is rediculous annoying and scientifically unnecessary. They keep the right exit door locked at the main street location which is dangerous should there be a need for emergency exit. Not to mention doors to a business should remain unlocked during business hours. The dentist and hygienist are courteous and professional. The text message scheduling the appointment could have the actual address of the location in it. They need to clean up their act before you get to the dental services. That will earn the fifth star.

It was my first time here. I used to go to family dental in sugarland. I went to castle dental because near my new address. I went there for a simple annual cleaning and they came up with a “treatment plan” which totaled more than $3000 and I had to pay $845 out of pocket. They refused to give me a regular cleaning unless I accept the treatment plan. I go for cleaning every year, I have no pain or discomfort what so ever. So, I had to speak with my insurance provider and go back to my previous dentists. I will schedule a cleaning appointment now. The receptionist was nice, but the dentist and his (Asian looking) assistant are horrible. They tried to make me sign and refused regular (insurance covered) cleaning. I don’t recommend going to this dentist office!

First of all, it is very old building with all the drawers rotting and the equipments old. second, I found the hygiene very rude. right after she prescribed deep cleaning and I denied that, she did one of my worst cleanings I ever received. She did a 5 minute cleaning and was hopeful I will reschedule for deep cleaning after few months. All her mistreatments made me even more dubious to her initial diagnosis that I need a deep cleaning (which I did not, after getting second opinion with two other doctors). This is fraudulent. they want to just make more money, therefore prescribe you what you may not really need. By the way, Dr. Pham was a very decent man. so I give one extra star only for him.

The staff at Castle Dental are very professional and kind. I have been coming here for about 3 yrs now. They work with you to make appointments that fit your schedule and is hardly any wait time when you come in; they don't overbook like most dentist offices. Dr. Pham is great! He spends plenty of time with his patients, explains your treatment, and answers your questions. I had a tooth extraction done by Dr. Sheng a couple of weeks ago. She called me that evening to check on me and text me the day after - she truly cares about her patients. I drive 40 miles one way to get to this office and I never mind the drive because I know they will take good care of me.

Stuff was nice and dental office was clean but old. I was told I needed a canal treatment in my country but didn’t have time to get it done. So I googled a dental office by my house and found this one with good reviews. Even thought I told the dentist which root I was having an issue, they told me they didn’t find any problem or cavities. A month later, i had a pain in my face and under my cheek was full of pus! I had to go to an emergency dental office. Plus I had small cavities!!!!! Don’t waste your money or time. I don’t know what they were looking at in my mouth. Wish I could get refund to my insurance since getting checked up is not unlimited thing.

I wouldn't recommend going here for several reasons. The office looks makeshift and not as professional as some others I have been to. But worst of all, they overbill you and charge you separately for things that should be part of one treatment. They also show you a list of charges before giving any treatment, which is bizarre. I am really glad I got a second opinion from a dentist I trusted and would recommend going to Meyerland Family Dentistry, which has much lower prices with fair practices. I gave 2 stars because everyone treated me nicely but wouldn't go back as it is not a trustworthy practice

I didn't enjoy my at castle dental that's located at the south main office. Ever since a heavy set woman that works at the front desk at Dr. Pham's office I have been highly uncomfortable. Every time she answers the phone she talks very disrespectful and rude as if she hates when people call, because she will have to work for her salary. She addresses women as sir, and this other woman is constantly looking at me menacingly. The dentist who hired all these disrespectful women who works at the front desk doesn't care who he hires to work at his front desk.

I can't even begin to list everything that is wrong with this place!! But I will give you the most important one, My dad and mom when to get a cleaning but only my dad got the his because he also did a filling and it was going to be too expensive for both of them anyway they ended up charging my dad for everything that my mom didn't even get done!! So do not go to this place!! They just got to do a mediocre job and take your money for things they didn't even do!! After a year they paid my dad $800 back but too little too late!

This location is wonderful! Customer service was excellent, and the staff is incredibly helpful. They worked very closely with me to get all my finances in order. They made it possible for me to do a considerable amount of restorative work on my teeth. Super glad I made it to this location and 100% satisfied with the excellent service. They were not only efficient and very productive, they also were very polite and friendly. Would recommend friends and family to come here and get closer to a brighter smile!

Castle Dental on Main st is a friendly environment. There always with smiles and ready to take my info and payment. My hygienist LYDIA is so awesome. I live in Humble, Tx and literally drive all those miles to this location to see her. She is best by far hygienist in the city. I’ve been to several locations before this one and she taught me a lot that I didn’t know. Other locations were quick to get you in and out. Ms Sheng is a thoughtful, kind and beautiful person. She is not trying to just make money like most Dentists she is considered about my health. She taught me a lot. And my mouth is a lot a work. She and Ms Rhonda was so patient with me as usual. The staff is wonderful including the front desk receptionists. I don’t know her name but she has long braids she is a pleasant to see when you get to the office. She is wonderful person also. Thanks to all the staff for making my long journey a pleasant one.

I was really impressed with the speed and professionalism of the front desk staff. Kanita was my clerk and she was really nice and put me at ease. I hadn't visited the dentist in some time so I was a bit anxious. The staff was accommodating and that makes all the difference! The staff made sure my benefits were in place and made the appointment to visit seamless. So I'll be telling all my friends about Castle Dental on S Main. It's a hidden treasure. This is my second visit to this location and I absolutely love this place! The ladies at the front desk are always so professional and helpful. I usually feel very uncomfortable at the dentist but Dr. Pham was great at showing care and making my experience wonderful. He did my crowns and fillings just this morning. No discomfort at all. I’m able to chew food without wanting to cry and I’m so thankful for the team at Castle! I look forward to going back for future services!!

The receptionist is very unpleasant, unfriendly has poor customer service and acts like she hates her job and don't want to be there. She never greets the patients and has a attitude via phone and in person. Luckily I love my Dental Hygienist otherwise I would never go to this location just because of the receptionist poor customer service. She always says how can we make you smile today, when she never smiles AT ALL AT ALL AT ALL. Dental Hygienist 5 stars.....

Excellent service with affordable price. I have been this office for years. They take all insurances including DMO also sliding scale if paying cash. Ms. Lydia is a great hygienist , thorough and will educate your oral health and make sure you stick with the plan. Dr. Pham is caring and skillful, he will make sure to explain everything before he proceed. Even the office is a little bit dated, but it is make up by friendliness of staff that remember who you are

It’s a scam. They make you pay beforehand, then take you to the x-Ray, but then they make you wait in the waiting room for a “treatment plan”. When the doctor finally looked at my teeth he tried saying I had 6 cavities, but I haven’t had any pain so I was confused. The entire thing lasted 20 minutes and then I was in the waiting room again. I left at that point. They didn’t even do a cleaning before they tried selling me all this stuff I knew I didn’t need.

Specifically asked if I could get a cleaning before I even went in. They told me yes. And then they have one of the dentists come in and almost seems like he was trying to scare me into getting more work done. Then asked if I could just get a cleaning and they refused to only give me a cleaning unless I paid for an extra $2,400 in unneeded/extra services. I paid for my exam and left. Although the ladies at the front desk were nice

My experience here at castle dental was amazing! When you walk it you see the smiles of a beautiful staff! They make you feel so welcome. I have completely enjoyed my visit! The office manager Cris was amazing! He was constantanly checking on me and guiding me every step of the way! I am usually really nervous about the dentist but, they made me feel so important! Kudos to you castle dental S main! This visit made my day.

I had the best experience at castle dental, they got me in same day and diagnoses my infection and needed a root canal and got my root canal the next day by the specialist they have and then crown the following day. I was blown away by the service and the speedy service to get me in and out of pain. Now a month later and I still feel the best with my root canal and crown by castle dental :) Highly recommend!!!!

Dental assistant was horrible. She could barely get my xrays done properly and treatment plan suggested was just to bill my insurance more. Was told I needed deep periodontal cleaning and had multiple cavities. Went to another Dentist right after and treatment was awesome. Ironically no need for "treatment" plan I would've been overcharged for. I don't recommend this particular location or this Dentist AT ALL.

Kanita Turner who I see at every visit gives great customer service. She'll explain things to me as much needed to get me to understand without giving attitude. Lydia Loofbourrow you added on to the exceptional experience, the care and knowledge you gave me was something I've never experience before at any other dental office. The Dental Assistant was very knowledgeable and comforting. The whole experience at Castle Dental was peaceful and pleasant. Awesome Experience! I highly recommend. I had a lot of anxiety about having oral surgery and everyone at the office from the front desk to the doctor made me feel at ease and comfortable. The doctor did my procedure with little to no discomfort. I completely understood everything that was going to happen and everything that I needed to do once I left the office. Very satisfied with my visit!

Awesome awesome awesome customer service. I love how informative they are and how they let my son know everything before actually proceeding. That’s a plus especially when dealing with kids. The doctor and the techs were all professional. The front desk staff was amazing as well. It’s always good to see a smiling face when entering into a new establishment. All of the employees at this location are very professional, the facility is conveniently located and clean, and the services are affordable and fast. One thing I particularly like is that they are very good about giving you information to improve your dental health between visits, so that you save more money and feel better in the long run. Due to bad experiences in the past, I was terrified of the dentist however, the staff here is very inviting and Dr. Pham is very thorough and was very gentle during my treatment...and I had a lot done! Kanita was very professional and showed a lot of empathy and concern when it came to helping me find a payment plan as well as explaining my condition. She took the time to treat me like a relative as opposed to treating me like just another client. The dentist is no place that any of us want to be but if I have to choose a dinner to go to it will always be Castle Dental.

The guy ,Crisostomo Nava, took care of me as soon as I got there and was really helpful and professional! Dr Sheng is the BEST dentist that I have ever been too. I have been to dentist that made me feel like I was being judged for not really taking care of my teeth. She didn't make me feel like that. She treated me as if I was family. I was so comfortable with her that during my procedure I was falling asleep. She is amazing. The whole staff is amazing.

I love Dr. Pham! He’s so patient with me and I know I’m probably his worst patient, but I’m petrified of the dentist. Kudos to him for not firing me as a patient! There should be no reason why it takes 2 hours to been seen for a teeth cleaning. Every time I come here i have to wait. They need to stop taking multiple appointments around the same time, if they know they can’t get people in and out. It is ridiculous to be called to the back to still have to wait to be seen. I will no longer be coming here!!

I was pleased with Kinetta and the Doctor. I initially could not print my forms and requested the form resent, it was mistaken as a complaint per the other young lady. If customer service is not going well, I will tell everyone. The office was clean and trash cans out of view, thank you very much . I look forward to receiving future services.

Ok so this dentist is by far the best in Houston! I hate dentists they freak me out so bad! I went in on Friday and had 8 teeth removed and dr Sheng was amazing she made me feel amazing! 8 teeth out on Friday by Monday I had absolutely no swelling. By Tuesday I was out shopping and enjoying life!!! Thanks for all the patience y'all rock!!!

Reception is nice, Cris is a great office manager and he really looks out for the every day consumer. Doctor was really nice and he showed me what he saw in terms to the condition of my teeth. This reinforces my trust with him because I'm clearly seeing holes in my teeth!! Highly Recommend getting your teeth done there. …

I must say that I am quite nervous when it comes to getting dental work done but, I must say that Dr. Pham is the best. He is consistently asking you how you are doing and checking on you during all procedures. My goal this year was to get my dental health up to par. I am so glad that I chose this dental office to help me get there!

The Dentist took a quick look during the exam after dental x-rays then told me to wait in the lobby. I had to find out what the plan to fix my teeth is going to be by the receptionist. She was the one telling me what was wrong with my teeth, not the Dr. himself. There was no communication from him at all.

Made an appointment for myself and daughter they were prompt and professional. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They gave me and my daughter and detailed summary of the work we needed done at a reasonable cost.

I had a great experience with the staff at Castle Dental on South Main. I had not been back to this group in a long time and at this office, the staff was awesome! They were very professional and explained all my care options. Big thumbs up to these ladies and the Dr.!

I got a lower bridge done and to say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. The piece is bulky and doesn’t look cosmetically aesthetic. I waited 3 months for basically a replica of my temporary bridge just whiter. I’ll definitely not be continuing service here.

I enjoyed the courtesy and professionalism immensely and was very pleased with the care and tenderness of the dentist and dental staff. Finally, I was very happy with how they communicated and illustrated the procedure. It was a very welcoming experience all around.

Completely painless. And very time efficient. I was told I had 4 cavities, and I fear needles, but it didn’t hurt. I trust their judgement, and the manager is such a wonderful woman. Her smile and professionalism will have you returning for routine checkups!

I had a very good experience with my deep cleaning and dental work. I was afraid to have a deep cleaning but she was very gentle and kept asking me how I was doing. Every one at Castle was friendly and professional. I would recommend them.
