My hubby once did take away and we liked the taste so visited again for our dinner take away. We ordered 2 butter chicken with 4 naans same as last time but this time I presented 10 percent coupon which was given last time take away order. The girl in the front didn't know what to do so asked to the guy (looks like either manager or owner) who was busy to put a incense and do some kind of religious practice. They guy then told us we won't get the rice if we use the coupon. I asked how much is the rice and he said it is about 5 dollars. Why do they even give and promote 10 percent if you are going to take out same amount off the take away food? I got 10 percent worth of charge but as well as the rice which was part of the food. So technically there was no discount at all. Also the girl asked me to wait for 40 mins which made my eyes open wide and she corrected 30 mins. Then the guy next to her said 20 mins. There was no customer in the restaurant but 2 take away(Uber kinda)orders in front of me. I received food exactly in 22 mins. They rather better be kind and honest to current customer than doing his religious act since the business can have more customer by being nice to current customer so then they can spread good words. Maybe he disagree and is happy to save 50c worth of rice in his pot. I still give 2 star rather than 1 because there was no problem in food. And we have been given another coupon although we are not sure if we would visit there again.

We have been eating at Castle Taj last 15 years and the best Indian food I have ever had. They are very hospitable and its an absolute delight to be there for dining. The menu offered an incredible selection of authentic Indian dishes. One dish that particularly stood out for me was the Daal Makhani. It was nothing short of heavenly - the velvety based gravy perfect with Tandoori roti and Tandoori chicken. The service was equally commendable. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to offer recommendations or cater to any dietary preferences. To top it all off, the restaurant's ambiance was inviting and comfortable. It's the perfect place for a cozy dinner with friends or family. Overall, my experience at Castle Taj is really good. The food, the service, and the atmosphere combined to create a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. Castle taj tandoori is one the finest authentic Indian restuarant in the hills district. It is our first choice for fine dine lunch, dinner, hosting a birthday party or family events. Food is really tasty here with just the right blend of spices and the portions are quite generous. We had recently hosted my daughter's birthday party here. Entire event was organised and managed without any hassle. Not to miss everyone simply loved and praised the food here. Highly recommend Main course- Tikka masala Nveg/Veg, Chef special Paneer kofta. Starters -Resami panner kebab and its Hyderabadi dum biryani reminds me of my mumbai days. Sumit - The Owner and the entire staff here are so humble and will carry a smile as you step in. Very good used to dine here every Sunday night with 6 others. Due to the ageing process and moving house we are down to three. Had a couple up from interstate on a visit so we were back to 7 for the night. Well looked after good service all had different meals did not hear one complaint cost very reasonable. Dined here again Thursday night. Party of 5.Ordered 3 mains plus 2 servings of cheese naan and 2 servings fried rice. Then received complementary dessert to share. Food very well presented and excellent taste. Chef can turn curry heat up or down to suit individual tastes. No corkage charge. More than sufficient food quantity to satisfy the five of us all for under $20 per head. Then had enough left over for doggy bag. Can't recommend enough.

I ordered takeaway. The food is good. However I had ordered over the phone and was told that the food would be ready in 30 mins. When I got there, there was a lady in front of me who was ordering takeout food. I got in next and paid for my food . I was surprised that the food was not ready. After waiting for10-15 mins the assistant came with the food for the lady who had ordered at the counter. Then I had to wait another few minutes before I got my food. When I had ordered over the phone and was told that it would be ready in 30mins. I did not expect to wait for another 10-15 mins to get my food.

The food wasnt cooked. I love paying $38 for cold uncooked food. Delivery took 1.5-2hrs and the food was cold. Called to follow up, and was hung up on, when I called back was told it was my phone - ok I can handle that. When I asked how long, she didn't know just confirmed the driver had already left. Waited another 30 minutes and I live 10 minutes away. Not sure what's happening with the delivery service when the price for delivery is quite high for 1.5-2hr wait and no-one wants to eat cold food.

My wife and I dined here for the first time today. We were given exceptionally great service by the very friendly gentleman as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. Our banquet meal was top notch to say the least. This is superior Indian cuisine. The flavours, quality of ingredients and perfectly cooked food, in a fine dining setting are outstanding. Positives - Service very good. FoH staff very pleasant. Ambience good. Cons - Menu expensive and the portion size and taste does not justify the cost. Have been here 6+ years ago, and had a pleasant experience then. But, this time unfortunately in the curry dish found couple of pebbles. Staff were apologetic and even offered a 10% discount voucher for next time. But, unfortunately we won't be going there anytime soon.

Attended a corporate function last night. Food was authentic and reasonably priced. Was delicious and not oily. This place is next level and makes sense as was advised that the head chef is the owner. We had the mixed entrees and the buffet dinner. For dessert we had the mango lassi and kulfi plate. Wow, wow, wow! Keep up the great work.

One of the best if not the best Indian restaurant we've been to and we have been to a lot. For starters we had Gobi Manchurian , garlic and cheese naan. Followed by our favourite Paneer Tikka Masala, and Methi Chicken as suggested by our host Vijay. Food was was delicious and very friendly staff. Highly recommend it. We will be back.

Nice experience, food was great, owner and his staff were very warm and friendly, must recommend Bhuna Goat ( very different and pure 5 star style with subtle flavours) and Nan, but the show stopper was the desi style chilli chicken probably one of the best so far we had in Sydney. Gulab jamun was amazing as well.
