"Just make sure you know you have a 2 day policy here and which to bring your item back to them otherwise they will charge you extras and pay less for the item that you bought from them just wondering people but these days we need places like this because most of us are broke like a joke well as they say business is business how many times do I have to change the phones that I buy from here this is the second phone"
Just been in today to "try" to purchase some DDR4 memory. As there wasn't any in the shop window or on the shelves I queued up for a member of staff to assist me: Me: Do you have any DDR4 memory? For a desktop? Staff member: Yes. Me: OK. What do you have? SM: What do you want? Me: I'm looking for around 16GB. I then expected him to go off to get a box with all the DDR4 memory available. Instead, he starts typing away on his computer... (I can't see his monitor - which would have helped.) SM: What speed do you want? Me: 3200. SM: We have one for £35. (A little too pricey...) Me: Do you have any 8GB ones? SM: Yes. Me: How much are those please? SM: It varies on the bus speed, 1800, 2400, blah blah... Realising that I'm getting nowhere quickly I say "I'll give it a miss. Thanks anyway." It would have been easier just to bring the available DDR4 memory that they have in stock to me so I could see what was available, what met my budget, etc - rather than have him tell me via a computer monitor. Thanks anyway, but I'll purchase from eBay instead.
Great place to exchange old electronics and buy some used and some almost new. Compared to the Orpington and Croydon branch this store was excellent, well staffed, knowledgeable people and above all they are fair as in they don't try and rip you when you take your good there for a valuation. I know its standard in all shops but they do have clever cloggs in a few branches where they rate item which are an A to a C, or bulk discounting on 3 plus items, just cause they think whoever going in there is desperate. So, come to this one, hopefully they won't change. A 3 star because they are a chain of shops and some work better than others, amongst them the above is better.
I prefer other CeX stores to this one. Staff wouldn’t take my games although they were in perfect working order and they didn’t even test them. The looked at the unscratched disc and said it was in bad condition didn’t even bother seeing if it actually works. I have to come back here as games in my local store aren’t normally in stock when I need them Edit: When you buy hardware from this store like consoles and controllers etc. they give you foreign chargers then when you try to trade them back in they say that they can’t take it because it’s not an English charger. So they’ve given me the wrong charger and I can’t give it back in.
This is not a bad store. Has some good stock in here, and has some nice staff. However, have had issues in here multiple times with disks ive bought not functioning either on my Xbox or Playstation. Luckily, they've either been refunded or replaced, which is nice, but the issues of them not working in the first place should not happen, considering i have tried sell things here in the past which work fine, yet havent been taken as they are too scratched. Yet they havent even been tested, just looked at quickly right in front of me. Other than that, a fine store.
Just make sure you know you have a 2 day policy here and which to bring your item back to them otherwise they will charge you extras and pay less for the item that you bought from them just wondering people but these days we need places like this because most of us are broke like a joke well as they say business is business how many times do I have to change the phones that I buy from here this is the second phone. Not working hopefully third time lucky fingers crossed
Some of the staff are really unfriendly. I went to sell my DVD today at the Brombley store. The person serving me trying to take a percentage because he told me that I sold a lot of DVDs for them in the last few weeks. This isn't the first time he's trying to take a percentage. A few months ago I went to sell my apple Magic Mouse . unfortunately I was served by the same man. again he is trying to take a percentage of what i sold.
Extremely unhelpful. Would not look at my son's PS5 under their 2 year warranty, they told me it must be a software or digital download fault without even looking at it. They told me to take it to Sony who advised me it was over a year old and therefore out of manufacture warranty and advised me to go back to CEX. I took it to the Orpington branch who confirmed a hardware fault and replaced it.
Stopped by an overzealous staff member who looked at the DVD cases in my hand as I was making my way to the counter. He then demanded " you buying them, I'll deal with that" as he almost snatched them from me. After waiting about 25 minutes for him to find the discs he failed to find them. This was my first time buying anything from here but it definitely is my last.
Decent enough selection, however the genetleman I was served by was quite rude and frankly couldn't care less (he actually laughed when I said I would like a bag which I didn't really understand). I have been served by this guy a few times and he's always been quite short with both myself and other customers, everything else good though
I don't often go there to buy or sell items. I mostly go to their website to do that. But if your looking for second hand electrical items, computer games or DVDs, it's definitely worth a look. Because I haven't been in there for a while, I can't say what the staff are like, but from what I remember they are quite friendly.
CeX has come in over the years. Used to be staffed by unprofessional types that were either geeks or conversely know nothings. Glad to say that is no longer the case. Good deals to be had whether trading or buying. Keep your goods in great condition and you'll reap the benefits.
Usually when I come to this store it's usually pretty good and have what I need. Last time I bought and tech and it came with a European charger. How did they test the product? Clearly not at all. I have bought loads from here in the past so hopefully it's a one off.
Perfectly acceptable CEX store with good selection of hardware and located on the high street easy to get to and among other stores. Usual CEX B.O. smell is there but not as pungent as usual from other CEX stores. This is the freshest smelling I've been too.
Had issues with my phone. And they were very helpful. Said I could either wait for it to be repaired or just replace with another. This I did. Same thing happened again. And same thing again. This time it was a simple fix. Also you get a 2
Waited to purchase a dvd this morning only to be ignored by the two staff at the counter. Not once did anybody look up or ask if l needed help. Left it on the counter and said l would come back when the store is less busy....there was only
Sadly I was ignored by the staff member who was standing there free on the free till. While I stood their with my little daughter. Until he saw me he kept he head down, moved and found it more amusing to play the staff PlayStation right
I was surprised by the very excellent service received when having to replace a mobile phone in an emergency. The salesperson was very transparent about the condition of the handset and I also received a warranty for peace of mind.
Excellent customer service from very knowledgeable and friendly staff. In particular Adam Great customer service and deals. The Recycling ♻️ of your played or watched stuff for new is so easy here, luv it
Sold my steam deck to them on the 29th December was told I should get the bank payment by new year yet I still haven't received it and its the 3rd of January!!! Extremely unprofessional please contact me!!
Smells. Its dirty and the staff are a little strange. One or two of the staff are friendly and OK but most look like they have only just seen the light of day after years of sitting in there bedrooms .
Always loved this shop. Great selection of items with some hidden gems if you look hard enough. Only issue is the wait time to get served which can be long. Other than that is great
Great prices and trade in valuations. Considering they themselves have to make some money this is a great place to give in your unused electrical items or games/DVD’s.
Fantastic store great knowledgeable staff friendly and helpful. They sent my ps4 Pro off for repairs quick and easy service well explained and quickly returned thanks
I'm disabled and I use a stick. Every time I visit, I always and up standing and queueing for 10-15 minutes. Some disability training for staff would be useful.
Excellent service. Sold my iWatch and was happy with the cash price given. Staff very polite and a short testing time. Would recommend.
Bromley store is OK, but I prefer Brixton or Clapham Junction.
Friendly staff and give a good price for your goods
Sold a smartphone. Staff were quick and helpful.
Good shop lovely staff friendly and helpful
Good range of games/movies and tech gear.
