Just had quite a bad experience with this shop. I went there with my old PC hoping to resell it, but left without a quote and was not satisfied with the overall experience. First, customer service wasn't great. When I approached the desk and said Hi I had to wait for staff to finish the conversation before paying attention to me. The person who was serving me was very slow and unprofessional. Seems like he might be new though, as he was asking his colleague a lot of questions. But when on one of the questions his colleague answered "search on the system", that person just started complaining in front of me saying that "it will take too long to do that. I don't get paid enough for that". That was very unprofessional in front of the customer. Then it took a long time for him to book my PC for testing. I was trying to be helpful and provide as much details as possible about my PC, but when I started giving this information he just said "oh, I don't know much about the PCs", and when I asked to leave a note that I would like to keep my SSD from this PC, he didn't even know what SSD is. That's not what you would expect from a staff member who works at the large chain that sells electronic devices. When I returned to get a price for my PC, they just told me "it failed, there is a lose fan". I asked why there is a lose fan, they just said "it makes noise". Then I asked about the other parts, if they could salvage it, but they only said they couldn't check the parts because it means they would have to open it to see inside, but if I take my PC apart and bring them parts separately then they will be able to do so. So, I got few comments: -they said "to check parts it means they would need to open it", which means they just assumed it's a lose fan without even looking at it. When I brought it for testing I was expecting that they will plug it in, turn the power on, see that it works and then check what parts are inside. They clearly didn't do any of it. They just pressed a button, heard some "sound" and that's it -i tested my PC at home before taking it there, there was no noise. Took me 10 minutes to get home from the shop, I plugged it in and again - no noise. Works absolutely quiet, even took a panel off to see the inside. So I have no idea what "noise" they were hearing -lastly, my PC was packed accurately in the box with all the cables detached and it was even in styrofoam. When they gave it back to me they couldn't even be bothered to put it back in the box. I had to stand and pack everything in the shop before taking it home So overall, my experience was very bad with this store. Definitely won't have any business with them again. I used CeX before in different parts of London and online and usually they are good, but today completely ruined my impression of their business

CEX have come a long way, now all their shots follow same standards, procedures, rates & website. Staff are courteous mostly, I say mostly because not all of them are, in fact most of them just want to say no to any questions you ask simply because they just don't want to do any extra work other than serving customers who are buying their products. You need to seek & find out the manager or senior colleagues of you want to be able to sell them anything. Once you go over this initial hurdle then it's plain sailing from there. They buy most things although don't pay top rates understandably because they want to make a profit of course. If you want to shift a lot of your stuff in case let's say you have just done a spring cleaning of your home or have recent moved home etc then this is your best bet. They take things, tell you exact rates they will bit for, check them over a day or so & then let you know which items that want to buy. You get higher value of you choose to receive vouchers rather than cash. I find CEX actually better than eBay or Shpock etc in case you want to sell a lot of items, for only a single item or so or for higher priced items maybe Shpock might be your best bet. Overall it's a good business and provides a good service. Highly recommended.

I would give less but alas, i can not. Brought a game for gift, found out the recipient already had the game, returned to shop 7 DAYS later! Asked for refund (£12.50) to be told "Sorry you only get 2 days for an exchange " although i wasn't asking for an exchange a refund is what i wanted. THIS IS NOT STATED ON YOUR RECEIPT. I then had to settle for selling the game back to them and was granted a grand total of £6 in vouchers. WOW, JUST WOW. my advice is if you want a refund on an item brought from CeX dont bother, sell it on line, at least you will get an honest price. My advice to CeX is maybe instead of having information about EXCHANGES NOT REFUNDS on the checkouts have them PRINTED ON THE RECEIPT. Oh yeah the staff really don't seem to know what their own policies are, well apart from a shirty woman who tapped on the counter to point out the exchange policy...which i counted with the receipt having no evidence of it on there. She then dissappeared quite rapidly once i had pointed that out. Will avoid CeX from now on

I am very rarely compelled in feeling the strong need to review or praise customer service that I have received. However, after visiting the Sutton CEX store I was blown away by the outstanding customer service that I received from such an amazing hard working team, who are very knowledgable in the products and services they provide. Every member of staff was helpful, however I was practically impressed with the service I received from Karl, Lewis & Shannon. I have to say they are a credit to their company, as I do not believe that I have received such exceptional service which is extremely important and often over looked. The Sutton CEX is not my local branch. In visiting the branch I returned and will certainly return to buy items and recommend to friends & family and public. Once again I would just like to say how refreshing it was to receive such wonderful service from a great team and bunch of workers! You have a local customer in me from my experience and I look forward in visiting again soon!

I was blown away with the exceptional, amazing, wonderful and helpful customer service received from Tom during my purchase of an iPhone yesterday evening ( Wed. 12.09.18) for my daughter. We narrowed down the choices to 3 iPhones to choose from and Tom very patiently explained every small detail about all the 3 phones, their features and benefits and also their warranty terms and conditions. It was so refreshing to receive his attentive service ( second to none) in a era when shop assistants are keen to take your money with minimal service delivered and wanting to get rid of you from their shop, but Tom was the complete opposite - he spent a lot of time with us until we were entirely satisfied. Highly exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful customer service was received from Tom - hang on to him - he is an exemplary employee and sets a very high standard for CEX for others to follow. I've got to give them 5 Stars as every time I have been in the staff have been professional; some friendly, some a little cold but given the majority of customers I see them having to deal with; they may even deserve a 6! Sutton isn't known for their upmarket clientele and I believe the worst of them seem to stagger in here desperate for thei beer/cigarette money. Aggressive, abusive and just downright rude behavior of the public I have witnessed the young staff having to handle whilst they swiftly book things in for testing from a seemingly endless list; especially when searching for random hard drives! Stressful stuff I certainly couldn't keep my cool doing! Keep up the good work guys and girls.

Brought a PlayStation 4 console from them a couple of days ago but had issues with the controller. Went there again today to get swapped over but the second controller had the same issues. Went again a little while later and the thrid controller which I got from them has more issues than the last ones that they had given me. Got so frustrated in the end that I went to Argos to buy a brand new one for the same price that they are selling for the second hand PlayStation 4 controllers. Won’t be using again and will be advising everyone to shop elsewhere for better quality products and also cheaper products. Poor customer service.

Cex,don't bother if you have second hand dvds etc.youll need a carrier bag full to get a fiver. They will pay you as low as possible for your goods ,but you should be aware of that before entry. You can't rely on the quality of goods as I've had several arguments with staff over different items. It's a business, and they will pay as less as they can to get a profit. They don't do cash back on a return, just a store credit note .so be aware of that before buying anything. The aim is get that money out of your hand and into their till. And be glad you've been given a credit note. This is today's policy. Best of luck.

Very strict policy for the collection of the items you purchased online. Without original ID they don’t give you a game for which you paid for. I showed them photos of my passport and driving license, my order number, their email confirming my order, I showed my credit card with my name on it, but they still didn’t give me my order, which cost £25, saying everywhere cctv watching them Camon guys, it is just a game! Or do you think you are the home office issuing official documents? I needed to drive 20 miles home to get my ID and back to the shop again. Ridiculous.

We love going to this shop because you can always find and what are really good prices and they have loads of dvds,blu rays, and loads games for Nintendo, Xbox, play station.there are so many things you can buy and that includes mobile phones, if you want you get a games consoles and the things you need to go with and you get everything at a good price. There is something for everyone and that's what makes such a great place to go get what you want for third of the price if you got things new and that it is home from home for me and my hubby

I'm frustrated with the fact that everytime I go to this specific CeX is the fact I have to take a 50/50 chance when buying video games I either walk away with a working disc or I have to return and waste time eithe getting a replacement disc or walking away without what I wanted because they sell and take in discs which do not even work. This place needs better management. I'll be going to the better CeX stores like the new one in Morden from now on! Do not shop here if you are a gamer.

I was happy to enter the store and hear some nice grunge rock tracks. Gave it nice background ambience. The collection was good but could have been better organised, like sorting the games from new to old . The staff was helpful but didn't have the decision making capability and needed to constantly check with the manager. Over all I think it was a decent shop giving gamers a platform to experience different games with a 24 month assurance, which was the greatest plus point.

On the whole great place to get second hand gadgets with 24 months Waranty but ask them to be tested before you leave! I asked for a XBox One S to be tested after paying £200, was assured no need as tested thoroughly, had to go back the next day as it was not working, it was swapped out for another which was tested before I left the shop. Could of saved fuel, time and an extremely grumpy teenager if it was working as should the first time!

Review update, staff would not take a item due to "headphone socket being faulty" phone was then tested elsewhere and there was no faults at all, just a small bit of fluff inside it. There was also 2 people in the store who were complaining about being sold faulty items at the time, store seems to have gone downhill since the move, its a shame. I use cex to buy a lot of games and items and sell also, I have had no issues in other stores.

Kept being knocked down in price almost £100 lower then what was estimated on website for a phone which was in really good condition, and as for customer service that was non existent the guy serving me had a right attitude felt like I was being served by a stroppy teenager, I will never go back to that shop again I’ve always used Morden branch , it’s was just convenience of location on that day and what a waste of time.

Absolutely love this store! The staff in sutton are brilliant. Always so helpful and honest. If something isn't right for you they wont just sell you what they have, they know there stuff and will be honest. I've picked up the best deals in there and often gone for cheaper items baised on their recommendations and have never been disappointed. The range of stock is good and layout is perfect.

Friendly staff and happy to help. Good range of stock to suit most gaming needs. Vintage games to brand new, consoles, laptops, etc. Gave 4 stars because of the price, particularly on games, some are the same as if you were to buy new. I'm in favour of buying secondhand, but they need to reevaluate their prices or they won't sell. Even £5 below current rrp would attract potential buyers.

Sold a phone to them. Queued first for 20 minutes, then again for 10 after they'd tested it. Staff are very pleasant and polite. You'll never get a decent price compared to say selling on eBay but I guess that's the hit you take for "instant" (I use that word carefully considering the queue) cash. Just don't look at the price they sell the item you sold them. Trust me. You'll cry.

Good store nice range of goods considering size of store and helpful and responsive staff. Gave good, honest and straightforward answers and would happily recommend even if they couldn't help me at the time. Parking is available but if you're disabled needs planning as a bit of a walk. Staff respond well to civility like anyone does, it costs nothing and gives returns both ways!

A complete waste of time .C ON EX PERTS is what they are . Looking for brand new products selling second hand used console but looking for any reason to run you down like way down to low as wait 1hour for = £37 pounds for your cyberpunk edition xbox one x with box and a little stick drift at idel. Avoid this shop . Cex stands for con experts .

Excellent help received from the team in Sutton on Sunday the 14/8. Got sold the wrong phone in another CEX and went into Sutton and they took the time to contact the store and sort it out for me. Excellent overall service. Took their time and didnt rush and made sure I was refunded the difference and issued with a new receipt

Got here 20 minutes before closing time as stated online for the workers to have the shutters half down confusing customers and rudely said "go away, were closed, don't bother coming in!" Absolutely terrible manners and just to make this clear, this was at the CEX in sutton-in-ashfield definitely wont be returning!!!

Poor quality of products, genuine parts are not used by cex when they repair a iPhone for sale. Not only do they not tell you it’s been repaired with non genuine parts they will not refund your money when you return the phone as not genuine. I personally would never buy any electrical products after my experience.

Sold me a switch game in a US case which they shouldn’t have , won’t let me trade it in after there mistake and this is literally the third time something like this has happened . Gone to other branches and it’s been fine . Lazy and unhelpful staff all the other branches are amazing just not Sutton!

Despite being a small store it's a nice one - the staff are helpful, everything is easy to find because they're located in good parts of the store. It does tend to get overcrowded when busy but that can't be helped. They pretty much have everything in stock that you might be looking for.

I bought a laptop saying on the display that its having ssd 256, but when i opened at home it was only 128gb . I had to return again to this store and its really frustrating that they are selling wrong items , also asking me to sign policy waiting etc. I will not recommend this store

I'm speechless.... £130 for a second hand phone that costs £129 brand new! That's not the only rip off... All the phones are the kind grossly overpriced! I don't understand how idiots still go in & purchase them! Don't get anything from CeX folks. It's not cool to pay over the odds!

If you are selling and you believe that you have an A grade item, they will always grade it as B so don’t bother, go to the Modern branch, better services, quicker turnaround and for phones they can even offer a battery replacement service, don’t waste your time if you are selling!

Refuses returns on new items, tells you how much faith they have in their products. Do yourself a favour and go to any other reputable store nearby or online for more reasonably priced and better quality electronics that give their customers better service. Avoid this store.

We love CEX because you can find a DVD you have been looking for ages and you can get boxsets of TV series you have been wanted and there are thousands of other DVDs and blu rays and all types game and you can also buy laptops, game consoles and all other thing okay.

Staff with little knowledge of the prodcuts they are dealing with, poor customer service and poor upkeep of shop interior. Products overpriced and retro games have had boxes reprinted and placed in shrinkwrap being sold as "mint condition". A joke of a gaming store.

Turned in over one hundred DVDs. It took over an hour for the staff to sort through them, but depsite the hassle on my part, the stafff were courteous and friendly. The location is moving soon to up the high Street, hopefully the best of the staff do as well.

Leave customers when there's no queue standing at the counter whilst the staff chat and mess about on the computers and incorrectly grade items as B with excessive damage and dirt all over them wasting peoples time who travel in to buy goods. Time wasters!!

Reasonable prices on second hand games, but the staff aren't particularly friendly. It's like they don't particularly want to be there. You also take your chances with what they have in stock, as they may not have the game you are looking for.

Sold me a faulty PlayStation, when returned they said they didn't sell it like that, then I asked for my HDMI lead back, of course I didn't get it back, I left with no HDMI lead. I wouldn't trust them with a chocolate digestive. Fuming!!

Bought a phone that was faulty. I was able to return it with no problem but I would recommend buying your phone somewhere else if you want reliability. Though the staff were helpful so I'd go back here if I wanted to buy a DVD or game.

Good shop to sell you old mobile. Even if its immaculate in the box you will only get a grade B price though! Better deal if you want shop vouchers instead of cash for you items. Shop now in the centre of the High Street.

CEX do not buy items at the prices that they advertise, they use excuses like "we have to many of these at the moment" and try to use explanations that do not appear on their website.

Not a massive fan of the new shop which follows similar design to others, the old one in Sutton had a more open design which felt easier to browse and better selection

Pretty much another cex shop that you see in any shopping centre. One star down for my personal customer service experience which delayed us over 20 minutes.
