Going to this practice is the first time in years that I've actually felt like I have real and true health CARE, with the emphasis being on the personal care that they give in everything that they do. I'm 32 years old, uninsured, and have spent the better part of my adulthood neglecting my health in one way or another – mostly because of being afraid of the cost of going to the doctor in general, but also because who really ever *wants* to go to the doctor? I WANT to go to Central Family. Having an appointment with Connie Ryan isn't something I ever dread, but rather something I look forward to. Between going to see her and Peggy Ghorbani for Acupuncture, I feel like I am truly on the path to good health, for probably the first time in my adult life. It feels so empowering to take that sort of initiative and I never, ever would have if it wasn't for the awesome support system Central Family has provided me. Not only are they incredibly affordable to go to for general appointments, their lab work is reasonably priced, they will always make suggestions for the best and least expensive places to get prescriptions filled, and if its an option, they will recommend herbal remedies along with traditional medicines. Overall, they give a great, well rounded, integrative approach to health care while also paying attention to emotional and mental well being - and that really resonates with me. Thank you, Central Family, for helping me care about myself and my health again. A review could never really articulate how much they have done for me, but it will have to do. :)
So, let me first say that in some ways, CFP and Dr. Pugh are much better than many traditional doctors. I learned quite a bit about treating my autoimmune condition with less conventional methods and got a couple of decent supplements and medicines out of the experience. The problem is that Dr. Pugh didn't actually treat what was causing my illness-- she kept my symptoms at bay with a million different supplements until they totally flared up out of control with a range of new and severely debilitating symptoms. I had to constantly ask for her to pursue treatments, and when I suggested an underlying infection, she ignored me and continued pursuing her course of action which wasn't working. Fast forward to me taking my health into my own hands, and it turns out my autoimmune symptoms were in fact caused by Lyme disease. As someone else mentioned here, Dr, Pugh essentially neglected me by keeping my health issues at a low burn for more than a year. Also, she knows almost nothing about using diet to manage symptoms and consistently told me to eat things that I'm sensitive or allergic to. I sincerely encourage you to go elsewhere for actual treatment.
Erika Alto I have been a patient of Dr. Trestor for three years now. He is by far the best doctor I have ever had. His calm and comforting demeanor is undeniable the moment you meet with him. He is very pleasant to talk to and listens to my needs. I feel blessed to have him as my doctor. Not only his wisdom, but his intuitive instincts shine through. He has always shown that he cares so much. The staff at Central Family Practice is always amazing!! They are so detail oriented, personable and kind. I always feel at ease when I have to go in. I have the upmost respect for Dr. Trestor and his wonderful staff. Kindness goes a long way when you’re not feeling well. Knowing that you’re cared about is the first step to feeling better. :) :) :)
I’ve been a patient with CFP for 5 or 6 years and have been very happy with my treatment here. I always feel my health concerns are clearly heard and taken seriously by everyone on staff at CFP, which can be a struggle with some medical encounters, so I’m very grateful to have found this practice. You may spend a bit more out of pocket here than you would with a standard co-pay as they do not participate in any health insurance plans but in my experience the extra cost (which is not prohibitive) is worth it because the care here is comprehensive and respectful. I always look forward to my visits with Eva Montes and enjoy the good energy that permeates the office.
I've never had a bad experience with this practice in the many years that I have been going there. I float in and out of seeing Dr. Trester depending on my insurance situation and even when I go years without utilizing this practice, I am always welcomed back, no questions asked. It truly feels like my medical home. Most recently, I was really impressed by hearing the newest addition to the CFP family--Margaret Connor--speak about nutrition, hormones and self care for women in midlife. Margaret fills an important need for information, practical support and empowerment for women at this stage of life. Highly recommend!
Had first appointment today, firstly would like to say that I am impressed that I called this morning at about 9AM and was able to make an appointment for my 1.5 year old at 130PM same day! Also, loved everyone we came across there. The lobby is very calm feeling, they had a few children's toys but nothing too overwhelming. We had Dr. Eva and she was great. She took care of my son and also was able to give me recommendations for myself and older son without making me feel like a nuisance. She also has really good bedside manner with littles. 10/10 would recommend and will be taking our whole family here.
This used to be a fine, caring clinic, but apparently no more. As a long-time patient, when I called to make an appointment, even though I was still in their system, it was "too long" and I was determined to be a "new patient and we're not accepting new patients". Triage nurse Susan decided after a 5 minute phone conversation that I might have too many medical issues (I mentioned 2 minor areas of concern) to be a good fit for their clinic and that she would have to speak to the business manager and call me back. She never did. As a former patient, I am disgusted by this treatment.
I am truly grateful for the pediatric experiences that I have here with my daughter. All the practitioners we've seen have been present, kind, knowledgeable, and respectful. While they do recommend vaccinations, they are very flexible about the subject, and not judgmental which makes me feel safe. The office is clean and orderly, and very kid friendly. Even though the practice does not take insurance, their prices are reasonable for a medical practice.
I saw Connie Ryan years ago and she had excellent insight to aid in my reproductive issues. Gave me lots of time and listened to my long history. Since then, my children have seen Dr. Trester and Eva Montes for well checks and ear infections. They are understanding, gentle, compassionate and non-judgmental with our medical views. Office staff has always been efficient and friendly. Grateful to have this practice in our community!
Been calling the main line repeatedly for 30 minutes (during business hours) trying to get someone on the phone to make an appointment, no luck - straight to answering machine every time. And there's nowhere on the website (that I can find) to request or book an appointment, or even to email them. This is not the first time we've had this experience at this clinic. Good location and good doctors, but not user-friendly.
Central Family Practice has been my family's medical home for over 16 years. I recommend Central Family Practice to anyone looking for medical care from a team who cares and works with each person to achieve the best outcome to whatever the issue may be; big or small. I've called on them while traveling in different states, and have received care by phone. I can only say great things about Central Family Practice.
I cannot say enough great things about Central Family Practice! They were so great with my 18 month old and Eva spent over an hour with us, which is rare for providers these days. They focused on finding the root cause of my son's sporadic vomiting instead of treating his symptoms with prescription medication, which I appreciated. I highly, highly recommend this place!
I love Dr. Trester! Before I began seeing him in 2011, I was wary of the medical establishment, but he has put my fears to rest (at least with regards to this particular practice.) It is obvious during each encounter that Dr. Trester sees his profession as an opportunity to listen and really make a difference in people's lives. So grateful for him.
I have been going here for a few years and I love it! It’s very clean and quaint, the office staff are very friendly, they always return my phone calls and are always on top of my refills. If I have a problem, they usually get me in right away. I highly recommend this place.
I am appalled by this medical Practise. They claim “everyone” deserves the best medical care and turn around and deny ALL treatment those without vaccines! It’s hard to explain the idiocy when you ignore science that natural immunity is 27 times better than the vaccine.
Dr. Trester and staff have created a lovely environment to receive healthcare . Friendliness permeates through the office . They also offer an array of homeopathic wellness options in addition to traditional medicine. They make going to doctors visits a Joy.
Central Family Practice is amazing. No, they don't take insurance, but you get great care from honest and trustworthy practitioners. You will get seen right away, they see all the members of your family and they have a wonderful staff.
Today was my first visit there & it was such a positive experience. It's personalized care. So refreshing after being treated like cattle in the smaller town I live in.
We have been taking our whole family since our daughter was 1 day old (she's almost 8). We trust Dr.Trester like family! And all the staff!
great for the whole family. thanks for helping my daughter and grandson
